1721  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 05, 2021, 06:54:57 AM
Totally unexpected, when the Batting Lineup started collapsing. Fakhar Zaman almost took Pakistan to victory with single handed. It is unfortunate to see any team loosing despite such a fantastic innings, but there was no support from other end. This could have been one of the finest chase in Pakistan's cricketing history. The series is leveled, and their is the reason why I'm looking the next ODIs.

Shows a lack of team bonding and cohesion. In the first match everyone failed with the exception of Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq. And during the second match, the sole exception was Fakhar Zaman. Pakistan won't win matches if only one or two individuals are performing. Other players need to give support to those who are playing well. Pakistan would have won yesterday's match if at least one of the middle order batsmen made a half century.
1722  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 04, 2021, 04:34:10 PM
They ideally should do that but they wont. Mumbai has a VIP status when it comes to cricket and they are willing to risk a few deaths to not change the location. That's how things really are in the Indian sub-continent. I just hope it doesnt go through the same treatment as PSL and get cancelled. Hopefully they have strict rules and bubbles so that the possibility of infection among players remain very low and IPL doesnt turn into a joke like the neighboring countries league turned out to be.

In case of PSL, it was Wahab Riaz, Darren Sammy and one of the franchise owners who breached the biosecure bubble. PCB was afraid to take any action, due to the larger-than-life stature of those who were involved. The same can happen with the IPL as well. I don't think that the BCCI will be having the courage to take solid action, in case some of the franchise owners like N Srinivasan or the star players such as Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma breach the bio-secure bubble.

Fakhar Zaman fell one run short of Saeed Anwar's 194. It was an incredible fightback from Pakistan, but they still lost the game. When Faheem Ashraf was nabbed by Andile Phehlukwayo, they were at 205/7 (38th over). But they finished at 324/9, thanks to that exceptional innings from Fakhar. Anrich Nortje went for more than 6 runs per over, which is very rare for him. Pakistan made one mistake by sending Haris Rauf ahead of Mohammad Hasnain. That probably cost them the match.
1724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can I hold Tron for better earn?is it a good idea? on: April 04, 2021, 02:01:12 PM
So everyone is going ballistic because TRX has rocketed from $0.03 per coin to $0.12 during the last three months? Before making an investment, you need to analyze whether the rally is purely due to hype created by whales, or whether it is supported by a solid change in the ground situation. From what I have seen, there has been no improvement in the acceptability of TRX for almost 3 years now (even since mid-2018). It is one of those stagnant projects, without much future potential. Nothing has changed on the ground for TRX. What happening now is just a short term fluctuation which is not supported by any basics.
1725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If You Buy btc Today and cash out one year on: April 04, 2021, 01:52:41 PM
If you are lucky, then you will be in a profit after one year. But nothing is guaranteed. Previously on two occasions, Bitcoin went through the so called "4 year cycle". For example, ATH was reached in 2013 December, and then it had to wait until 2017 December to record the new ATH. There was a 4 year gap in between, and during this period the prices went down by as much as 85% (in 2015). Same thing happened after 2017. The new ATH was achieved in 2021 and we had a low in 2018 when the prices went down by 85%.
1726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can we see Altseason 2021 from mid april ? on: April 04, 2021, 01:41:18 PM
From what I can see, the altcoin season is already here. You don't need to wait until mid-April. Around 6 months back, the altcoin market share was less than 25% (with Bitcoin at 70%+). Now Bitcoin market share has decreased to 56% (with a declining trend) and the altcoins are inching closer to 40%. But similar to the last altcoin rally in 2017, I have noticed that some of the shitcoins are also getting overhyped and they have attained laughable valuations.

1728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your Life After 10 years in Bitcoin... on: April 04, 2021, 01:21:11 PM
i am pretty sure those member who has  sold out their bitcoin 2017 now regreting as that time bitcoin price was almost 19000$ but now the price almost 60000$ usd .. even we are regret now to do not hold good amount btc as we had chance to buy at cheap price too much last year and end of last year .

Don't be so sure about that. What if those who sold Bitcoin at $20,000 per coin in 2017 had purchased it back in 2018 (when the prices were around $3,000 per coin)? I know at least one user who have done that (although not at the exact levels mentioned above). But all of that depends on luck. I am someone who is unlucky. Back in 2015, I sold around 50% of my coins for near-bottom prices (~$250 per coin). But then, there is no point in crying about it. That's how things work and we need to move on.
1729  Economy / Economics / Re: Food Prices Are Soaring Faster Than Inflation and Incomes on: April 04, 2021, 01:11:18 PM
I don't understand what to explain about this consequence. The dilemma is so dire that it is problematic to imagine what will happen to the people. I assumed that the allotment for Corona is getting less and that is why the price is going up so fast. On the contrary, the income is not improving. The circumstance is becoming very difficult day by day for the middle class, lower-middle-class, and lower class. The affidavit is correct because even in the stock market, it appears that prices do not fluctuate as fast as in the case of food prices.

I believe that all this is due to fiat inflation. Governments around the world are printing banknotes like crazy, giving the excuse of COVID 19 stimulus. This in turn has caused a decrease in the purchasing power of fiat. If you look around, you can see that most of the commodities have become costly as of now. Crude oil is the best example, as the prices have risen by 60% during the last 12 months. Overall, inflation is going up in almost all the countries.
1730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC was a lifetime chance and I don't think we will see a similar opportunity on: April 04, 2021, 01:01:14 PM
Indeed! I regretted not knowing about Bitcoin during the time 10,000 BTCs were paid for 2 pizzas. Also in 2014, I think the price of BTC was around $600 or less, in which I ignored it for a few years because I didn’t fully understand it. In mid-2017, that’s where I slowly began transitioning from a network marketer/freelance data entry specialist to a passionate cryptocurrency enthusiast, trader, etc., where I usually bought tokens from ICOs and participating in airdrops and bounty programs. And then in December 2020, I missed the boat where BTC has grown from $12k to $30k+.

If you regret about these things, then for your rest of your life you will keep on regretting without doing anything productive. The most important thing to note here is that we are still in the early adoption phase. Bitcoin is actively used by less than 2% of the world's population. Just imagine what will happen, when the user base increases to 20% or 30% of the population. I invested in Bitcoin for the first time in 2012. I can also say that I regret about not doing at in 2010 or 2011. But that's how things work. We need to move on and concentrate on the future.
1731  Economy / Economics / Re: Could Bitcoin Smash Socialism in Venezuela? on: April 04, 2021, 12:51:04 PM
But their investment wasn't enough in the end as you have already said. Another problem as you have also mentioned is that they are so reliant on oil that they didn't try to invest in other products. And the blunder of choosing Maduro as the successor added to that problem.

Do you really believe that someone other than Maduro could have resolved this issue? Venezuela is like a single-commodity economy, which is over-reliant on petroleum. The majority of the population is left-leaning similar to the other Latin American nations and they want the governments to make huge welfare spending. If the right-wing parties were in power, then I don't know whether the situation could have been any good. They would have privatized the oil fields, which would cause losses to the economy once the crude oil prices increase.
1732  Economy / Economics / Re: More bullish news: Paypal will alllow crypto checkout on: April 04, 2021, 12:41:09 PM
I still have one main question. When paypal will allow crypto withdraws from their system?

Be patient. They are allowing additional features in a gradual manner. They will not roll out everything overnight, because they are a listed company and therefore they need to take care of the tax and legal implications. I am sure that the government authorities are not happy about all this and PayPal needs to deal with that as well. But to their credit, PayPal is standing up to the authorities (unlike the case with FaceBook, which cancelled their plans for Libracoin).
1733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 04, 2021, 12:31:31 PM
Arey when did this Temba Bavuma guy become South Africa captain? Is he captaining for this particular tour or its a real deal for the proteas. He only played 8 ODI and got the chance of leading the team, great.. Just great!

Yup  Temba Bavuma is the young South african captain . In recent times, he is the first black African cricketer to be the captain for South Africa.
Previously they had an era where they had Hansie Cronje, Graeme Smith, Hashim Amla and other white people as their captain. Will this be the beginning of a new era for south africa ?

I would have been much happier if he was made captain based on merit. There are South African players of color who gets selected solely on the basis of merit. I am talking about layers such as Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj. But unfortunately Temba Bavuma is someone who doesn't deserve a slot in the playing XI. If someone check his ODI and Test batting average, then it is clear. How can someone who averages 32 with the bat in tests become a regular part of the playing XI?

BTW... Bavuma made 92 today. Still my opinion remains unchanged.
1734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 04, 2021, 12:21:16 PM
I do not see any possibility of IPL being canceled. The IPL will be held even if the coronavirus grows. Maybe some rules and obligations may increase, but the IPL will not be abandoned. The IPL was held even in the most difficult moment of the coronavirus the previous season, when there was no vaccine. The infection rate is now somewhat lower than in previous years and everyone is quite health conscious. Hopefully all the matches of IPL will be held on time.

There is only a remote possibility of the IPL getting cancelled in case the protocols are strictly followed. But in case, if someone makes a breach in the biosecure bubbles and if those inside it gets infected, then things can get complicated. And this is one of the issues in conducting such a big tournament in multiple cities, especially in the crowded Indian metros. The BCCI needs to make sure that players and non-playing staff strictly adheres to the safety protocols. A single mistake may put the entire tournament in jeopardy.
1735  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian vs foreign companies on: April 04, 2021, 12:11:05 PM
I have mixed feelings about this move. On one hand, I have to say that this particular move will hinder free-market and competition, by giving an advantage to the Russian software firms. But on the other hand, Russia is under sanctions from US and some of the other Western nations, and they are perfectly justified if they want to discourage their citizens from using software from companies which are based in these Western nations. Russian companies such as Gazprom are being denied a level playing field, so I can understand the move from the Russian government.
1736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: April 04, 2021, 12:01:25 PM
Returning from World Cup qualifying matches, most of Turkey's national team players tested positive for Covid-19.  Turkey's Group G match made in Norway, the Netherlands and Latvia team players would not be wrong to say that at risk.If similar situations occur in other groups, can eliminations be delayed?

I heard that a number of the players tested positive after they returned home from the qualifying match against Latvia (which ended in a 3-3 draw). However, the exact number is not known. Çağlar Söyüncü (Leicester City F.C.), Kenan Karaman (Fortuna Dusseldorf), Merih Demiral (Juventus) and Zeki Celik (Lille) are some of the players who are confirmed to have returned a positive test result. Fortunately for Turkey, their next match is on 4th Septermber (against the weak Gibraltar).
1737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: April 02, 2021, 02:13:39 PM
^^^^ If the match ends up as a draw, then West Indies have only themselves to blame. Yesterday they had enough wickets at hand, but they were scoring runs at snail's pace. The scoring rate picked up only after Kyle Mayers got out. Jason Holder and Joshua Da Silva tried to push up the run rate, but from one end Kraigg Brathwaite was again dragging it down. To complicate things further, there is a slight chance of rain for today.
1738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I tried to tell him just HODL bitcoin, don't make this hard. on: April 02, 2021, 01:36:19 PM
This is one of the reasons why I never recommend any cryptocurrency to my friends. Back in 2013 and 2014, I tried to convince my friends to make investment in cryptocurrency, but all of them ignored my advice. And now the cryptocurrency rally is there and everyone want my advice on which coin to make the investment in. I have told them that I don't want to give any recommendation. Let them learn the lesson themselves. Everyone want to become billionaires overnight and that's the reason why they are going for shitcoins. 2x or 3x return in a year from Bitcoin doesn't appeal to them.
1739  Economy / Economics / Re: More bullish news: Paypal will alllow crypto checkout on: April 02, 2021, 12:42:43 PM
I know Paypal providing/allowing crypto checkout through the merchants will help/surge the price of the cryptocurrency market but this still does not change the fact that Paypal doesn't provide sound crypto services because they do not allow the withdraw of crypto on their platform.

Situation will not change overnight and you need to have patience. When they rolled out their cryptocurrency services, PayPal had made it clear that full services will be available for the users only by mid-2021. They are making new features available in a gradual manner. Earlier the checkout option was not available, and now they have enabled that. I guess within the next few months, they will also make the withdrawals available for BTC.
1740  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How long until we are all forced jabbed with the vax? on: April 02, 2021, 12:33:21 PM
Even at the end of 2022 still we may lack enough vaccines to vaccinate people in the every corner of this world, but we are already free now, we don't have any lockdown inside the borders. Probably restrictions to travel abroad due to the third wave but people started to love along with the covid because starving is deadlier than covid.

^^^ This.

There are not enough doses now to vaccinate even the ultra-high priority groups. Obviously there are some exceptions such as the United Kingdom and Israel, who have hoarded vaccines that would have otherwise gone to high-risk populations in other countries. Moderna, Pfizer and J&J doesn't have any spare capacity to provide vaccines to poorer nations. Vaccination program was started 4 months ago, and even now only around 10% of the population is vaccinated in countries such as France and Germany. In the third world nations, it is much lower.

According to the latest data, less than 2% of the world's population has been completely vaccinated against COVID 19 (i.e two doses).

Total number of people who have received two doses of the vaccine:
Total - 135,064,161
USA -  56,089,614
India - 9,640,340
Turkey - 6,942,183
Brazil - 5,078,476
Israel - 4,803,665
Russia - 4,482,884

Spain - 2,797,015
Serbia - 1,037,709
Hungary - 863,195
Canada - 696,128
Argentina - 680,590
