1541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if Bitcoin hits $1m in the future? on: April 25, 2021, 01:54:08 PM
Most of my targets are much lower, so in case BTC reaches $1 million per coin, then I will be left with only around 10% of my current stash. Here are my major targets - $100,000, $250,000, $500,000 and $1 million. Once the exchange rate reaches these targets, I will sell a part of my coins. But these are not set in stone. Because before selling the coins, I need to take in to account the tax implications as well. So dumping everything at once is out of the equation.
1542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 25, 2021, 01:41:12 PM
Sir Jadeja can't do any wrong when he gets going. Batting, Bowling and Fielding, this sick bastard is everywhere. Virat should sing some cringe worthy song or bollywood dance in appreciation of Jaddu during Post match ceremony.

Jadeja on his part, has played continuously for CSK ever since 2012 (with the exception of a two-year break when CSK was suspended). This is one of the advantages of CSK, as they have several players who are playing for them for almost a decade (MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis and Dwayne Bravo are others). When half of the team is playing together for almost a decade, that helps with the team bonding and cohesiveness. But it also means that when someone is unavailable for a season, it becomes very difficult to replace that player (like what happened in 2020, when Raina was not available).
1543  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid virus 2021 on: April 25, 2021, 01:31:24 PM
That's so bad, may I know what is the brand of the vaccine which is spreaded by your Government? Because, last week my mother is forced by the government to be vaccinated. In my country, the vaccine that is spreaded is Sinovac. When I read what you wrote, that makes me feel worry to my mom. I really hope that everything gonna be okay soon. Although, we have found the vaccine but Covid-19 still infected many people in every country. This is really bad.

Sinovac is really useless. There are rumors that they manipulated the clinical trials, in order to achieve the minimum (50%) efficacy needed for approval (Sinovac claims to have an efficacy of 50.4%). Countries such as Hungary, Serbia and Chile have primarily used Sinovac vaccine to inoculate their populations. But in none of these countries, a noticeable reduction in the number of new infections is being noticed (despite vaccinating close to half of the population in each case).
1544  Economy / Economics / Re: Ceo Coinbase đã bán 749999 cổ phiếu COIN trong ngày đầu tiên chào bán on: April 25, 2021, 01:21:11 PM
So the idea behind for selling 749,999 shares is to buy back at cheaper levels? I am not seeing most other corporate are following this kind of strategy. When those inside people who are responsible for further growth are not holding, then who else?

Not a bad strategy at all, if you ask me. I just checked the NASDAQ website and the P/E for Coinbase stands at 180.21. At this level, the stock definitely looks overpriced (although we have stocks such as Tesla, which have P/E as high as 1,000). Also considering the number of stocks he own, the 749,999 figure mentioned here represents just a small fraction. It is not going to change the share holding pattern in a major way.
1545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: April is the real alt season on: April 25, 2021, 01:11:04 PM
I think it's too early to talk about the end of the altseason, especially since the price of transactions on the ETH network has dropped to adequate values.

Too early to talk about the Ethereum gas prices. For now, they have gone back to $5-$6 per transaction range, but you never know when it will shoot up again. But ideally that should not have much an impact on the other alts. Times have changed and Ethereum no longer has the monopoly among the altcoins it once enjoyed. Nowadays we have a number of established altcoins with good volumes, such as Polkadot, Cardano, Chainlink and Binance Coin.
1546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC still wants XRP so badly on: April 25, 2021, 01:01:19 PM
I don't really care about XRP, because I don't even consider it to be a pure cryptocurrency. With almost 100% premine and almost complete centralization, Ripple has more similarity with fiat currency, when compared to other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum. Now coming to Ripple's issues with the SEC, I don't think that it is a very good idea from their part to openly challenge the authorities. Previously also we have seen a few projects committing this mistake. And we all know what happened to them after that.
1547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are there so many negative posts about BTC lately? on: April 25, 2021, 12:51:06 PM
I don't think Dogecoin supporters have anything to do with negative posts about Bitcoin. I am more thinking it is the Bitcoin supporters themselves especially those people who have a weak hand. The fact that Bitcoin undergoes a deep correction leading for them to spread FUD and FOMO across the market, thinking that the bull run was over. Little did they know that it was just a normal occurrence, after reaching an ATH expect that there will be a correction. Anyway, let those who have weak hands panic because there's a lot of people who are ready to catch what they have sold.

Dogecoin itself was created by those who hated Bitcoin, in order to mock the entire idea of cryptocurrency. That's why I find it so ironic that so many of the "cryptocurrency" users have a positive view about Dogecoin. Either they are unaware of its history, or they are simply blinded by greed. IMO, Doegecoin is like the sword of Damocles that hang over the head of every cryptocurrency user. No one knows when it will act as a trojan to destroy the entire cryptocurrency sector.
1548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government ban on crypto on: April 25, 2021, 12:41:13 PM
Yes, this sounds reasonable.

I'm from India, where the government is planning to outright ban all the cryptocurrencies. It would be an interesting move, but something that is facing a lot of resistance. Further, the government seems to be moving towards the ban with a completely misconceived notion that crypto is meant only for illegal activities. Of course there is a need for the government to have a dialogue with all the stakeholders in crypto industry before they pass any laws.

The problem in India is that they don't want freelancers to receive their income in the form of cryptocurrency from abroad. There are so many taxes and other formalities on running ITES services in India and almost 80% of the payment gets eaten up by taxes and duties. Now the freelancers don't need to pay any of these taxes and that is the reason why the government is not comfortable with the idea. According to the government regulations, Indian individuals are prohibited from directly working for foreign employers, unless they have the license for the same.
1549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 25, 2021, 12:31:08 PM
BTW, Harshal Patel conceded 37 runs from a single over against the CSK.  Grin
Purple cap holder, Best economy rate in the death overs and also he conceded only 14 runs with 3 game-changing wickets from his first 3 overs but everything was trashed by Jaddu in the last over, and you know every six went to the same direction no matter what bowler changed with length and line, definitely this will be affecting RCB's confidence.

192 on a day game is bit tough to chase even if it is Mumbai ground so my pick is still CSK as always. Cool

I was just watching the over with awe. Jadeja just single handedly destroyed the RCB bowling. As you mentioned, all the sixes were hit towards the same direction. Perhaps this is an indication towards the immaturity shown by Harshal Patel. He could have changed his angle by going round the wicket. Rather than angling in towards the body, he could have bowled wider. In the end, CSK got to 191/4, when I was expecting them to end up with 160-170.
1550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is USDT Tether safe? on: April 25, 2021, 12:21:10 PM
The biggest advantage with cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash is that they are decentralized. That means that you are able to store money on your own. But that is not the case with USDT. With Tether, the Bitfinex exchange is holding your money and you are being issued a token which establishes ownership to the funds. Now the drawback here is that the tokens can be stolen from your account, and at the same time they can become worthless if the Bitfinex exchange goes down.
1551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Transaction Fee on: April 25, 2021, 12:11:11 PM
Small transactions are the worst hit on this high fees problem, the other day I need to transfer $20 worth of btc and the transaction fee is about $10 - $11, very high and ridiculous charges imo,  how is it that 2 of the top project in crypto have high fee's whic scars  away people from it,

Nowadays it is widely agreed that Bitcoin is not very suitable for making small payments. But that said, the fee levels have come down drastically during the last 2-3 days. Now it is possible to get a confirmation in 2-3 hours, if you pay a fee of around $1 (~20 Sat/Byte). That makes sense, if your total amount is $20 or higher. But if you want to pay for a coffee or a burger, then I would recommend you to use an altcoin, such as Litecoin or Bitcoin Cash. BTW, don't try lower fee, if you don't have a lot of patience. For me, I am willing to wait for 3-4 hours to get a confirmation to my transaciton. But I understand that many of the users are not comfortable with waiting for so long.
1552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero and its future. on: April 25, 2021, 12:01:13 PM
I am sorry to say this, but Monero is a failed coin. There are multiple reasons for this, such as security bugs and liquidity issues. But it has lost is prominence in the altcoin sector and nowadays it is largely being viewed as a coin which is sliding towards its eventual death. The biggest drawback for Monero is that cryptocurrency sector itself is now trying to get regulatory acceptance. And the authorities are extremely hostile to Monero and it has zero chance of getting that acceptance. And this would mean that more and more users and exchanges would distance themselves from XMR. The future looks bleak.
1553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Transactions Fee Are More Expensive Than Ever on: April 23, 2021, 04:54:53 AM
People are really fed up with the high fee problems. I wonder whether they will solve this problem in the future. I don't think it is an impossible thing to do. They need to make some updates to prevent the high density on the network and a high increase in the price from causing to a big increase in fees also.

This is not an issue that popped up all of a sudden, right? During the last 4-5 years, brief periods with very high fees have occurred a lot of times. Most of the experienced users will be having strategies to deal with it, and mostly it will be the less experienced users who will be having issues now. There are several options. If you can't wait for one or two weeks, then either you can use an altcoin such as BCH or use the second layer with Lightning.
1554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OSCARS 2021- Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: April 23, 2021, 04:26:32 AM
Another storyline for the winner of the best actress category might be because of black lives matter, the academy might vote for Viola Davis or Andra Day and have a black woman as the best actress of the year hehe. Their odds are 3.17 and 6.17.

Sad to see a prestigious event such as Oscar now purely becoming a political event. The award for the best actress should be given to the individual who had given the best performance. I am not a big fan of either Viola Davis or Andra Day, but I will be having no issue if they are being given the award on the basis of performance. But here this entire award ceremony is being relegated to a joke, and the winners are decided on the basis of political preference and not on the basis of their acting skills.
1555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins to invest in right now on: April 22, 2021, 04:53:36 AM
In my case, I am rooting with some of NFT altcoins because I see the trend of this market this year and NFTs are good especially in a short term investment and these are my choices: ENJ, AXS, MANA, THETA, CHZ and FLOW.

I would stay away from the NFTs like plague. It is the next overhyped application in cryptocurrency market, after ICO, IEO and DeFi. The valuations are just crazy and they doesn't make any sense. Since they are hyperinflated, I don't think that there is much room for appreciation now. Also, with the current setup, NFTs are not viable. They went up by too much, too fast. And that too before taking care of the basic issues. Right now investing in NFT sector is like a lottery, since no one really knows in which direction it will ultimately go.
1556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Forget bounties and Airdrops on: April 22, 2021, 04:42:03 AM
well, currently for some bounties it seems to be quite worth it. I have noticed that the payment received from the bounty since the beginning of 2021 is quite large. well, instead of being abandoned, this can be an alternative to looking for coins in a relaxed way. but, for the airdrop, I'm not following the progress for now.

If this is true, then I am happy for the bounty hunters. Many of the bounty campaigns went unpaid in 2019 and 2020. With the altcoin market undergoing a bull rally, I guess the projects can now afford to pay the hunters handsomely. But still I would urge caution in selecting the new campaigns. Go for trusted campaign managers, and always go for the campaigns that last for 4 weeks or less. A good project doesn't need a bounty campaign of more than 4 weeks to advertise itself.
1557  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid virus 2021 on: April 21, 2021, 12:04:35 PM
Not just the quantity but also the logistics seems to be another problem for the vaccine rollout. If we continue to innovate and have all the countries do their thing and become competent, I am sure that we can make the inoculation much more faster, we can't do anything about it, if the government is incompetent with the vaccine rollout then we as their citizens are screwed.

Logistics is a problem because the mRNA vaccines need deep-freezing. The vaccine from Pfizer/BioNTech needs to be stored at −70ºC. The Sputnik V vaccine also needs to be stored at -18ºC. The developing nations may be having the facilities to store the vaccine at such low temperatures, but we can't expect the poorer nations to have tens of thousands of such deep-freezers. And it's not just storing. Transporting the vaccine at such low temperatures can also be a problem.
1558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: April 21, 2021, 11:53:29 AM
Is anyone watching the Test match of Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka live? I just looked at the scoreboard. Bangladesh team is playing very well. After the end of 70 overs. Bangladesh lost only 2 wickets and scored 245 runs. Bangladesh lost their first wicket on 8 runs. 245 runs is a big collection for Bangladesh. After the disaster in the previous series, it seems that Bangladesh will play well in this series.

I was going through all the four matches at the same time. The test match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka is ongoing, and at the same time there are three T20 matches being broadcast on TV (IPL match between Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, T20Is between Pakistan and Zimbabwe, and Netherlands and Malaysia). Bangladesh are now in very strong position, and I guess they will be able to make somewhere around 450-500, if their middle order doesn't collapse. Najmul Hossain Shanto got his first test hundred today.
1559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 21, 2021, 11:41:08 AM
Do I know who is betting on PBKS today? From the beginning of the match, no batsman of PBKS could fight well with the bat. Agarwal did the most runs, he scored 22 runs off 25 balls. At the moment PBKS has collected only 84 runs by losing 6 wickets in 14 overs. I don't think PBKS will be able to win this match if they don't score more than 140 runs.

LOL.. Punjab Kings are in all sorts of trouble and I really doubt whether they will be able to make a total of 120 today. Right now they are 118/9 with just 4 more balls to go. The combination of Rashid Khan/Abhishek Sharma/Bhuvneshwar Kumar/Khaleel Ahmed destroyed Punjab and only Mayank Agarwal and Shahrukh Khan could score above 20. For Punjab, their biggest problem remains the weak middle order. When KL Rahul and Mayank get out early, they doesn't manage to get to decent totals.
1560  Other / Off-topic / Re: ⚽ The European Super League ( ESL) on: April 21, 2021, 10:22:22 AM
BREAKING NEWS

European Super League Is Officially Suspended

All the six (6) English clubs have left the proposed European Super League just few hours after the protest in London and the all English club captain emergency meeting organised by Liverpool skipper Henderson yesterday to save football from been ruined. The ESL is on hold for now till further notice.

Football fans are going to regret about this in the future. If the ESL was allowed to operate, then it had the potential to grow as the largest sports league in the world, in terms of viewership and money. A lot many of those who opposed the ESL are purely emotionally driven and they don't want to think about the merits from such a championship. The UEFA Champions League has failed on multiple fronts and ESL would have emerged as a better alternative. Anyway, now we are back to ground zero.
