1481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warren Buffett Agrees That Bitcoin Is "Disgusting" on: May 02, 2021, 01:39:59 PM
One thing I don't understand is why everyone here in Bitcointalk is giving so much importance to Warren Buffet. Is it because he hates Bitcoin so much? We  Bitcoiners have a tendency to ignore those who support us, and give importance to those who hate us. And this is exactly what is happening with Warren Buffet. His hatred towards Bitcoin is simply irrational and results from the fact that he couldn't digest the fact that an asset which he derided has become so successful. Common Bitcoiners, please be aware of your strengths. We have a combined market cap of $2.2 trillion, which is more than 4 times higher than that of Berkshire Hathaway. Don't tarnish the reputation of the cryptocurrency sector by begging in front of Buffet.
1482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dubai's Government and Gambling on: May 02, 2021, 01:21:36 PM
There are lots of restrictions in each country and they have their laws. It's a good thing that countries like Dubai are somehow legalizing gambling but I'm sure that their government will still restrict it and will implement rules that gamblers should follow. Instead of breaking the law, following it would be better to keep gambling going in a certain country.

In most of these Arab nations, the ruling monarchies are divided into two camps. One camp want to modernize these countries and make them more liberal. The second camp wants status quo, and want the conservative religious laws to remain as such. UAE seems to be favoring modernization, while other countries such as Kuwait still seems to be under the control of the conservatives. But if you want to visit a casino, then I would advise you to travel to Macau or Mexico, rather than traveling to the middle east.
1483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Transactions Fee Are More Expensive Than Ever on: May 02, 2021, 01:11:05 PM
You should just use Doge for transferring value like the rest of us poor people.  Wink

I've just sent a Bitcoin tx at 7.7 sat/vByte. And the fees will keep decreasing, so if you guys have many inputs (faucet money) and relatively small Bitcoin transactions to send, this and (especially) next week-end are to be used. It may worth reading: Transaction fees: send or wait
Make use of the "special offers" instead of crying about the bad days.

High transaction fee has been a major issue in the cryptocurrency sector and experienced users know how to deal with it. The problem is that noobs always whine about it without reading the posts here. Durations of high fees seldom lasts more than two weeks. And due to the algorithm used in adjusting the mining difficulty, a two week low-fee period immediately follows this high-fee duration. If you want to pay less fee, then you should take use of this opportunity to merge your smaller outputs. It definitely takes less time than what is required to make a post here in this forum.
1484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 02, 2021, 01:01:15 PM
Jos Buttler absolutely brutal today with his batting, scoring 124 in just 64 balls where smashing 11 boundaries and 8 sixes. His maiden T20 ton carries Rajasthan to a massive total 220. Pathetic decision making to ball first, this is what Kane Williamson captaincy? Hyderabad chase that down? No chance!

They fired David Warner and made Kane Williamson the captain. First of all, they need to understand that the problem lies with the team composition. Their middle order and pace bowling lineups are in very poor shape and that is the reason why they are losing matches. Now blaming David Warner for these defeats serve no purpose. They are sticking with the same pace bowling lineup, despite repeated failures. Rather than including Mohammad Nabi, they should have gone for Mujeeb Ur Rahman for this match. Also, Basil Thampi deserves a chance in the place of Sandeep Sharma or Khaleel Ahmed.
1485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk statement on his Bitcoin holding on: May 02, 2021, 12:51:08 PM
Take note:

1. Elon Musk probably haven't sold some of his bitcoin (based on his claim).
2. Tesla, as in the company, has sold some of their bitcoin holdings.

These are 2 very different things.

If that is the case, then I have another question. Elon Musk once claimed that he owns only 0.25 BTC, which he received as a gift from his friend. Has his holdings increased recently, or is he still owning just 0.25 BTC? It looks like Musk doesn't own any significant quantities of Bitcoin, so the topic of him selling his coins never arise in the first place. And also, as far as I understand, Elon is not required to reveal his individual holdings of cryptocurrency. He may need to mention about it in his income tax return, but then those returns are confidential.
1486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 101 addresses hold 67.7% of all Dogecoin. This is insane. You will get burned! on: May 02, 2021, 12:41:10 PM
This is absolutely an insane thing. As Elon Musk continues to manipulate Dogecoin price, so many people have invested in it. And the number of this kind of people increases as time goes by. It's really a too risky investment, in my opinion. It feels like it will reach one dollar at least. But if Elon Musk stops supporting Dogecoin, it's very likely that things could be upside down.

That's not true. Elon Musk has tweeted a few times about Dogecoin, but the Doge whales have taken his tweets out of context and used it for price manipulation. That said, Elon should take some of the blame and I am not exactly sure why the SEC is treating him with kid gloves. The whales have started to convert their Doge to USD or BTC, and eventually the inexperienced investors who make the late entry will be stuck with this shitcoin.
1487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any recommended altcoins for this upcoming months? on: May 02, 2021, 12:31:21 PM
I always go for the coins with the most advanced technology, but then I have to admit that it doesn't work always. Lately, the cryptocurrency market seems to be working solely based on hype. If you ask me, cryptos such as Cardano and NEO have the best technology and I would readily invest in them. But I am getting perplexed, when I see shitcoins such as XRP and DOGE giving a higher return compared to these technologically advanced coins. Perhaps these things don't matter in a bull market.
1488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: May 02, 2021, 12:21:10 PM
Sachin Tendulkar donates INR 10 million to help India fight Covid-19 crisis.
This is a big initiative and it will also encourage more legends contribute to this noble cause. There is a "Mission Oxygen" campaign in India in which this money will be used to procure oxygen concentrators.
A very noble initiative. With the help of legends like Sachin Tendulkar, India's bad times will not last long. Moreover, if legends like Dhoni, Shewag, Yuvraj come forward in collaboration, it will be easier for the Indian government to work to prevent Covid 19 infection.

It was a noble initiative from Sachin, but my opinion is that it is the duty of the government to provide healthcare and it should not depend on any of the celebrities. These people are already paying 43% of their income as tax, and my opinion is that it will be wrong to overburden them even more. Only around 2% of the Indian population pays any income tax and they have the massive burden to support the remaining 98%. Now Indians should make sure that this 2% is not pushed to the brink. IMO, the rich farmers who earn millions in income, but doesn't pay any income tax (farmers are exempted from income tax in India) should contribute a part of their income. For cricketers, it should be optional.
1489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 02, 2021, 12:11:14 PM
Overall i'm supportor of multi team WC (16-20 teams) so its surely a welcome move. I understand that majority of fixture are going to be one sided when playing against weaker teams but its part of the deal if you want to see a cricket adoption in more countries, it would take time but that's a right way along with inclusion in the Olympics .

Talking about one-sided matches, a simple majority of the one-sided matches in the ODI world cup involved two test-playing nations. If you don't want any one-sided matches, then you need to restrict the world cup to a 4-team or 5-team event. Big 3 + New Zealand can be given automatic qualification, and one team can be selected from the remainder. But even then there will be a chance for a one-sided match. And the real reason why ICC reduced the number of teams was due the debacle in 2007, when both India and Pakistan were kicked out by non-test playing nations in the group stage.
1490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: May 02, 2021, 12:01:19 PM
They have scored 177 runs before the match is delayed due to bad light. Although i am not watching this match, but i wish if somehow a miracle happens and Bangladesh does won this one. If they had batted a bit better, they would have been in a much better position.

Thunderstorms are forecasted for tomorrow at Kandy, so if Bangladesh bats sensibly tomorrow, then they will have a chance to draw this match. But they will have zero chance if 90 overs of play is possible tomorrow. Liton Das is batting along with Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and both are very good batsmen capable of surviving for 40-50 overs. Given the weather forecast for tomorrow, that should be enough to hold Sri Lanka to a draw.
1491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Crypto be more valuable than gold? on: April 30, 2021, 04:13:30 AM
During the last 100-120 years, the purchasing power of gold has increased at a steady rate (despite the temporary ups and downs), and I expect this pattern to continue for the near future. The current dip in gold prices is due to holders of gold selling their coins and jewellery, due to difficult economic conditions resulting from the pandemic. IMO, this is a temporary phenomenon and the uptick should continue once the pandemic is contained. And that makes it difficult for cryptocurrency to overtake gold.
1492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All Eyes on BTC Dominance! on: April 30, 2021, 03:49:23 AM
Upon checking in some chart reader bitcoin dominance is now at less than 50% which I think for every altcoiners its a good indication that we are near the alt season. Also we have seeing bitcoin price goes sideways.

Bitcoin dominance of less than 50% means that we are entering the overhyped territory in cryptocurrency market. Given the current user base, adoption and acceptance, the fair market share expectation for Bitcoin should be around 80%, and that for altcoins should be around 20%. The current spike in altcoins is caused purely as a result of speculation. Because of the hype, many of the useless shitcoins are also having valuations of tens of billions of USD, which is not sustainable in the long run.
1493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you guys think about the Old coins? on: April 30, 2021, 03:33:17 AM
These are "old" coins? LOL.. When I saw the topic, I was thinking that the OP may be referring about the earliest altcoins, such as Litecoin, Namecoin.etc. EOS is not that old. It was first released in January 2018, after the major altcoin rally of 2017. And once upon a time, it ranked among the top-10 coins in Coinmarketcap. But now it has fallen outside the top-25 list and seems to be on the decline. The same can be said about most of the other coins mentioned by the OP, such as Dash and Zcash.
1494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 29, 2021, 04:26:18 AM
No need to replace Saha with Bairstow, there are lot of weak links in the middle order.

https://www.cricbuzz.com/profiles/1465/wriddhiman-saha He is not having huge average but apart from that he player over 120 matches with good strike rate of 130 which is much needed for them now especially his innings. Don't forget he even have a century in his IPL stats.

They can give one or two chances to Saha and see how it goes. Another option is Mohammad Nabi, but he is in poor form right now. Apart from these two, they don't have any players who can play a long innings in the middle order. Vijay Shankar is good for nothing, and Abdul Samad is more suitable for short bursts in the last 2-3 overs. Another option is Priyam Garg, but he doesn't have much experience in the middle order. Virat Singh was given a few chances, but he failed in all of them.
1495  Other / Politics & Society / Re: India covid19 crisis on: April 29, 2021, 04:08:58 AM
Jesus, the Christ from 2,000 years ago, was a man who did and thought and said everything exactly right. His reward was death, and rising from death on the third day after his execution. God gave Him authority over the universe.

Indians need to know this so that they put away their idols and false thinking religion-wise, so that they can be saved from death when Jesus returns to take everything over. This much more than help from the fake Covid, which is really beriberi.

Cool

OK.. so Indians will be saved from death if they throw away their idols and abandon their religion (which is said to be the oldest religion in the earth), and then convert to Christianity. In that case I have a question? Why so many people are dying in the Christian countries? The last time I checked, Italy's death rate from CoVID 19 stands at 2,000 per million (when compared to 147 for India). The same for Brazil is 1,863 per million. Out of the 30 countries with the highest mortality from CoVID 19, all except Bosnia are having a Christian majority. Jesus forgot to save these people?
1496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If Musk doesn't tweet Dogecoin, can it still soar? on: April 28, 2021, 04:59:44 PM
Without Elon Musk, Doge would be nothing. Doge has a large aggregate supply, it is not hierarchical and there are some people who hold too many Doge. That's the big downside threat I'm aware of. Doge's value is being manipulated, and I think it will soon be trampled when Bitcoin falls sharply.

It's not just Elon Musk. Obviously Elon's tweets might have caused pumps on multiple occasions, but there are other whales who are manipulating the prices. And it is quite easy to manipulate this coin, because of its limited liquidity. A few big investors who accumulated Doge during the bearish phases of 2018-19 are now trying to profit out from this coin. But I have no doubt that if the market crashes sometime in the near future, then Dogecoin will be almost worthless.
1497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: will Binance be the next Ethereum? on: April 28, 2021, 04:44:58 PM
Binance is indeed getting more advanced and more recognized by many people, not only because BSC is clearly superior to ETH in terms of gas fees, but Binance is also increasingly being recognized by people through Binance Exchange, because Binance Exchange is already very popular, and most people who just want to doing crypto investment, they are definitely looking for a well-known exchange, and binance exchange that is looking for first

Fees is important, but other issues such as speed of transactions and security is important as well. And I would say that BSC is clearly superior to Ethereum in all these aspects. Ethereum is still dominating the smart contract sector because it was the first cryptocurrency to have such a speciality. And that is the reason why it has a larger market cap when compared to technologically advanced cryptos such as Cardano and Polkadot. But now for the past 5-6 months, the ERC transactions are being plagued by extremely high fee levels. A lot of projects are now considering to migrate to other chains, and BSC looks like a very attractive option.
1498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 28, 2021, 04:05:10 PM

Rishabh Pant has batted exceptionally well so far in this tournament. But unfortunately, his captaincy is not up to the mark..

As a team, DC is much strong. They have batsmen like Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, Hetmayre in their squad, their bowlers are good enough. But as a captain, I didn’t find Rishab Pant experienced enough. And the defeat in yesterday's match is living proof of that. Experienced bowlers must be used in the 18th, 19th, and 20th overs. I think it would have been better if Shikhar Dhawan was the captain

Rahane is not really T20 material and although Hetmeyer produced a really good performance in the last match, he is not in his best form. IMO, Delhi Capitals are struggling due to the absence of Shreyas Iyer. They are still unable to fill the vacuum created due to his absence. Steven Smith is now batting at no.3 for Delhi Capitals, and he is OK as far as performance is concerned, but his strike rate is a bit lower than what is optimal.
1499  Economy / Economics / Re: China to overtake the Us as the largest global economy by 2028? on: April 28, 2021, 01:59:01 PM
The difference is that China is spending its money on building various infrastructural projects all over the world, while the Western nations are wasting their money on useless wars and conflicts. For example, China has allotted a total of $900 billion for the new Silk Road initiative. On the other hand, the US spent $2 trillion on the war in Iraq alone. The government preferences are very different in both China and the US. Now the Westerners are just jealous that China has managed its money in a better way.
The difference is China is building stuff that will grow the nation because in the end the ones that will profit from it in the end will be CCP, remember every company in that nation is 50% owned by them, it is a dictatorship, which means if they spend 900 billion dollars for a new silk road and they make trillions of dollars from it, most of that money will go towards CCP anyway, so they are making themselves rich.

Developing nations need loans and help from the richer nations and that is what China is doing now. And no one does anything for free, and it is applicable for the Western nations as well. When countries such as US and UK give out loans to poorer nations, they keep even more exploitative terms and conditions. Well.. these days they are not doing that, because they no longer have any surplus cash. Poorer countries in Africa and Asia view Chinese projects as mutually beneficial. The Chinese are helping them with large-scale infrastructure projects, which would otherwise be impossible to complete by these countries.
1500  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mixers under the threat? on: April 28, 2021, 01:05:42 PM
Not really surprised with this news. Those who have been around here may remember about what happened to Bestmixer.io. The operators were arrested and jailed for aiding money laundering and other criminal activity. The authorities can never be comfortable with any sort of Bitcoin mixing mechanism. It goes diametrically against their goal of tracking each and every financial transaction in this planet. Anyway, I would say that it is good that for now they are concentrating on the mixers. But I am afraid that they will go after the Dex sites, once they are done with the mixers. And the mainstream exchanges may be next.
