2461  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: P2P Cryptocoin Exchange (P2PX) on: April 27, 2013, 12:31:25 AM
I think this is the best idea I've heard in a while. I hope this comes together. Could do wonders for the bitcoin world. Will be following...
2462  Economy / Speculation / Re: 17th May 2013 on: April 26, 2013, 09:08:06 PM
I wonder if mtGOX will be able to handle the traffic.
2463  Economy / Economics / Re: First PC game using Bitcoin as the currency: Fallout 2 on: April 26, 2013, 08:11:39 PM
Right on. Suitable for BTC to show up in one of the best RPGs of all time Smiley

Such a great game...much better than Fallout 3 IMHO...

And can NOT wait for Wasteland 2...  Smiley
2464  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @ the end of the BFL queue on: April 26, 2013, 04:34:36 PM
Oh the BFL troll thread is coming 'in just another week or two'.

There has been some last minute surprise delays. Everything is almost ready though.

It'll be in a slightly larger font, but it'll be worth the wait, I promise.

(Sorry couldn't resist).
2465  Economy / Speculation / Re: Real crash/correction coming. on: April 26, 2013, 04:01:41 AM
Seemed to be a lot of resistance at $130.  Looked like many a dude and dudette had buy orders in at that point.
2466  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITSTAMP eXchange wall Observer. second biggest and best exchange on: April 25, 2013, 10:36:50 PM
Bitstamp, if you are not American, is not the easiest place to get USD in and out of last time I checked it out.

The fees for the international transfers were pretty high as well, if I recollect correctly.
2467  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: April 25, 2013, 08:35:38 PM
Surprise .  Glendall surprised !

120$ what?
2468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FinCen preparing to prosectute some Bitcoin users on: April 25, 2013, 08:24:19 PM
I really don't see how FinCen would be able to effectively track bitcoin purchases and sells in any way sufficient to prosecute someone if said person was doing only a minimal amount of things to make it difficult to do so.

Also don't see how they could prosecute folks who did stuff prior to any official ruling on the subject.

Could change in the future with some new laws, but currently would not see how they could charge bitcoin users, unless they had a great deal of resources into monitoring someone and tracking their BTC actions, and additionally linking these to some blackmarket venture.
2469  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin's doom is not 51% attack, it's 99% attack on: April 25, 2013, 08:03:35 PM
Ok on the serious side of things, your premise is still pretty weak.

First of all, if the U.S banking cartels aka government wanted to kill bitcoin, buying a bunch of ASICS would be one of the more challenging methods.

Second off, you can't even buy enough ASICS currently to do what you propose, in any sort of reasonable time span.

Third, developing their own would be difficult. Okay let's say it's possible.

They would just mine all bitcoins -- what use would this have?

A 51% by the government could be seen and avoided.

I dunno. Could go on but I think it's a silly premise.

Easiest method would be merely just buying all bitcoins and crashing the market. But I don't see how the gov would be interested in doing so. It is far more feasible that the powers-who-be in the gov would instead just find a way to manipulate BTC for the monetary gain of the few people who would be making such a decision.

Besides even if the government did so the 'crypto cat' is out of the bag. A new coin would immediately be made and gain traction. The government moves to slow to counter the aims of a motivated, technology saavy population.
2470  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin's doom is not 51% attack, it's 99% attack on: April 25, 2013, 07:58:01 PM
I hear governments only order ASICS from BFL.

So you're wrong about your predictions.
2471  Economy / Speculation / Re: And..... CRASH! on: April 25, 2013, 07:47:51 PM
Must be a lot of Silk Road fans on the forum Smiley

I don't see this big crash supposedly happening that everyone says is coming today.

What happened to SR ? I have been some time without login in because of the volatility, and that I don't take drugs in finals.

Not following it closely but they've getting 'layer 7' DDOS recently.

2472  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone ever sold to themself? on: April 25, 2013, 07:41:48 PM
the "new gox" interface is horrible and very easy to mess up buying/ selling

Sad  you can always use the classic one, though

How do you do this? Did not see this option. Thanks.

2474  Economy / Speculation / Re: Today's Crash: Call the Bottm on: April 25, 2013, 07:39:05 PM
Think you need some higher numbers in the poll. I don't think we'll see <$130 for the 'bottm'.
2475  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGox - OKpay to withdrawl: (Pending Validation?) on: April 25, 2013, 07:07:29 PM
Crap does this ever take a long time.

I hope GOX gets some more support staff.
2476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][LTC][Pool][PPLNS] [ Stratum ] give-me-ltc.com 2% FEE [10 block confirms!] on: April 25, 2013, 06:49:11 PM
Two big thumbs up for this pool from Glendall  Grin

Been on it a few days. Between it's reliability and stratum and front-end, I think I'm a convert Smiley

Recommended.
2477  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Butterfly Labs on: April 25, 2013, 06:24:04 PM
That's valid; sounds reasonable.  I don't have any pre-orders myself so maybe I'll just not get involved in these threads...
2478  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Butterfly Labs on: April 25, 2013, 06:20:15 PM

Think it's all been said many times. Much of those bullets above can be found with some forum searching. At this point I think it's just up to customers to either get a refund for their 'pre-order'  (aka a good faith investment in the development of product that didn't exist) or just continue to wait another 1.5 / 2 months when they are making the products finally, in bulk.
2479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin currency symbol to be added to future keyboard on: April 25, 2013, 06:14:41 PM
The bitcoin character should just be changed to ß  (ascii character 225)

Then you could just assign it to your gaming keyboard (macro key) and be cool like that.

Though, this might mix up the Germans somewhat.
2480  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNCMINER - 6GH/s FPGA and 250GH/s ASIC on: April 25, 2013, 04:44:39 PM
I hope these guys are for real and I wish them luck. We need more ASIC makers in the market.
