Replace dumpprivkey by importprivkey on the instructions also leaving the bitcoin address out.

I would write a full guide but on the tablet keyboard I would take hours lol
2463  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: OGRR.COM just increased FIVEFOLD his userbase on: September 15, 2012, 03:06:33 AM
You shouldn't give such importance to those stats as half of bitcointalk users are profile spammers who only register to leave a link on their profile page...
The above reason also accounts for the male:female ratio lol
2464  Other / Off-topic / Re: TOTAL EXPOSURE: Post your most secret PM! (must be true & comment) on: September 15, 2012, 02:57:15 AM
You don't have skype installed at all you mean? o_O

Most people on this forum don't remember this side of Matthew, but early on (see date in quoted PM) he contacted a many members via PMs to solicit what I would rather not say. Needless to say, I declined, for I don't swing on Skype. I don't know what those two different sized O's were in reference to, but perhaps I was being asked what size I am.

~Cackling Bear~

And let me tell you that not using Skype is the best decision you ever made. It's a fucking resource hog as it uses your computer processing power and bandwidth to route other users calls lol
2465  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: paypal on: September 15, 2012, 02:46:32 AM
i thought this but there are services on silkroad( dont know if i can mention this on here?) which do that.how does that work

If you know where to find what you're looking for why are you asking here?
2466  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Automated Trading Platform - Any Interest? on: September 15, 2012, 12:51:47 AM
I can test it if you'd like. With the money I lost to pirate I don't mind losing 100 BTC more testing your bot.
Go big or go bust. Fuck it. lol

Ya know it's both funny and sad.  I generated an address back when Pirate was considered at least somewhat legit.
1M8nRjt4XGVrd7cnwn1V....

First mate anyone?
Wasn't a vanity thing, just sorta happened that way. I'm considering removing it from my wallet.

Back to the topic at hand though.  I've got one more show stopper to track down and then I'm posting jars.

OK.  Pm me the bot with instructions to set it up if they're needed and I'll let it burn 100 BTC.  Let's hope not lol
2467  Other / Meta / Re: Bug Report: Missing Email Notifications on: September 15, 2012, 12:48:10 AM
You only get an email when a new post is made after you visit the thread after your last email notification.
If you get an email notification and you don't visit the thread you will not get another one no matter how many replies have been made until you visit the thread again.
It's not a bug, it's a feature.
2468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitWasp Marketplace - to make sites similar to Silkroad on: September 15, 2012, 12:42:28 AM
Why? There is nothing wrong on developing an empty open source market Smiley

OK, but if you coin it "Open Scource Marketplace for Drugs, just like Silk Road", you make any future lawyer's job alot easier if anybody would take you to court. Be careful and good luck!

The OP labeled it that way, not the developer.
I took a look on their site, they market it as being Tor friendly but they make it use AJAX which is a no go IMHO.
2469  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: hello! new to this site on: September 15, 2012, 12:38:09 AM
I recommend having your bitcoins on your own wallet. The mistake of having them on someone else's wallet already costed me 2500 BTC. Learn from my mistakes, it's cheaper lol
2470  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: NEVERMIND, SOLVED Bitcoin Wallet runtime error/stuck coins on: September 15, 2012, 12:34:22 AM
If that happens again delete the addr.dat file first before deleting the blockchain.
From the error you posted it looks like it was some error on the blockchain itself. But it pays to troubleshoot the other files first.

OK. Send my deposit back when you close up shop. Keep up the good work, Victor.

2474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Websites...is it just me... on: September 14, 2012, 09:28:20 PM
It is just me that thinks that most of the bitcoin related websites look like they were all done by the same designers - the overall feel of a lot of them is very similar...

why is that?

Coz most of them r made by tech-geeks without artistic design skills.

This ^

All graphic designers know they can't program. But most programmers don't know they can't design. I will say though that Bitcoin websites have slowly been getting better. The average design today is significantly better than a year ago. Some day, all this stuff might start looking professional!  Wink

Nailed it.  I have done web development consulting for 15 years and this is wisdom.  It takes time to learn how to get designers and developers on the same page talking a mutual technical language.    I usually get in the middle and translate Smiley

You got that right. It definitely takes a translator for those 2 specimens to communicate most of the time...
2475  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: September 14, 2012, 09:23:55 PM
Perhaps Zach should join this forum and plead his case or explain the new ownership of GPUMAX, as Trendon is still an owner/director and this is not right. This service should be banned in this community because of it's clear ties to fraud.
perhaps matthew should come out of his sock and do what he said he would (leave the forum iirc), all he is here to do is further inflame an already crap situation.
in 14 months on this forum I have come close once to using the ignore button, now is the second time

What makes you think that sockpuppet is Matthew?
2476  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Your signature space on: September 14, 2012, 07:45:58 PM
Did anyone get a single satoshi from that?
Is there official prices per post or sth.?

Can't speak for others, but yeah, I got a little more than "a single satoshi from that"...
2477  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Trendon Shavers - Family Contact made on: September 13, 2012, 01:36:36 PM
I read "The family ties and identities have been confirmed". I would just like to know how they were verified before everyone goes after the wrong family.
So, it's OK to call the family when they scam people for 20 BTC but it isn't OK to call them for 500K BTC... Got it!

22:35   pirateat40   god rest their souls.

This entire episode is a cornucopia of incompetence.  You all knew his identity, from nearly the very beginning.  He knew this.  And yet, here he is, attempting to imply that his parents are dead?  And no one ever researched this and bothered to call him out on this, for over nine months?

I don't know why he said that his parents were dead. I remember clearly him saying to me on a PM that he would be out for the weekend because it was his mom's birthday. Not sure if he said it in the thread also or if it was only on that PM he sent me.
2480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin-qt crashes at startup on: September 13, 2012, 02:16:11 AM
There is nothing unusual on those logs.

Which OS is it and what version are you (not)running?

Can you try renaming you Bitcoin data dir and see if it runs when it creates a new wallet, just as if it was freshly installed?
