2481  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Re-opened] Scam accusation again Complete liar and scamer James Lent on: November 01, 2017, 10:56:34 AM
This guy must really be an MVP to have pulled something like this out and I don't see the practicality of you recovering your fund even at this time when the value in relation to BTC has even tripled compared to the time he borrowed the funds. And one of the issue of crypto borrowing because if it had been a case of Fiat, a lot of verification would have happen and there is hardly an chance of default because of the value of collateral that would have been submitted. Aside that, there wont be a way to borrow from another bank without first clearing the one borrowed as there is a database for defaulters. Now its obvious he does not want to pay and because he knows he cannot be touched, he feels the best is to buy time by virtue of the several postponements he has done in the past.
2482  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bittrex Disabled. (Locking more than 100K In Assets) on: November 01, 2017, 09:17:15 AM
I dont know whether to feel pity for you or to join others to knock you because really, you deserves to be knocked. To have that kind of amount showed that you are not a newbie to the game and that alone tells you that leaving any of your fund on exchange site is a big no, no matter the convenience it might bring and that is where the issue comes in. Bittrex woke up one day and then disable all withdrawal unless you do your extensive KYCs and I guess its as a result of that was your account flagged for someone to have that amount of btc.

It even more annoying to see their response with so much effrontery on how creating additional tickets wont make your case faster in addition of not even giving a time frame to the end of such. I hope you can get it resolved and move one to another platform or even keep it in an offline wallets to avoid stories such as this.
2483  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What Will You Do If You Are Trap On A SHIT Coin ? Or Low Volume Coin on: November 01, 2017, 08:10:42 AM
I am currently trapped on one and I don't even know what to do about it even after I move it from once exchange to another, it just seems people all over the globe are just not interested in trading this particular coin. What really happened was that I bought a little then but the price increase rapidly forgeting that there are some factors that could be responsible for that other than the forces of demand and supply, I then went in and not too long from that, a lot of dumping started happening that it got to the point that even with several sell order, there is no buy order.

I think when the mistake is already made, then there is nothing to be done to undo it all that is needed is the lesson learnt from it which is something I wont forget never to be ruled by timing, do your due diligence before investing in any coin.
2484  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken Credited Bitcoin Gold? on: October 31, 2017, 09:28:47 PM
I am not talking about Bitcoin Gold. This is what Coinbase said:
"The Bitcoin Segwit2x fork is projected to take place on November 16th and will result in two bitcoin blockchains. Following the fork, Coinbase will continue referring to the current bitcoin blockchain as Bitcoin and the forked blockchain as Bitcoin2x. Any customer with a Bitcoin balance on Coinbase at the time of the fork will be credited with an equal amount of the Bitcoin2x asset on the Bitcoin2x blockchain. "

So its pretty clear that if I have Bitcoin with Coinbase ON November 16th, I will get Bitcoin2x. It is not clear that Kraken will do the same. My question remains do I move my Bitcoin to Coinbase or do I leave it with Kraken? Does it matter if Kraken supports Bitcoin2x, because at some future date if I move my bitcoin out of Kraken it will magically appear in a Bitcoin2x supported environment?

The release of Coinbase concerning  Bitcoin Gold has been straight forward and even a link to that is on the official BTG website and there it was stated that they won't be supporting at this time until things stabilizes which they could interpret to mean anytime. On the issue of kraken, I don't think Kraken is a platform that would support BTG and even go to the extent of crediting their clients without making it so obvious and even releasing a statement towards that.

For those who are scared if they have lost their opportunity to claim, the moment you coins is not on exchange site, then you can still claim it and if you are doubtful, the best is to move them out before the November 16/ 25/upcoming fork to avoid stories.
2485  Other / Meta / Re: To limit the number of daily posts of Newbies to prevent scammers and FUDers. on: October 31, 2017, 08:11:32 PM
Some newbies are just insufferable.

Many projects are being plagued with FUD and Alts with newbie accounts.

I myself was a newbie till recently but I think they should have a more strict limit on how much they post.

The legit ones will eventually become Jr. Members anyway but it will make the job of scammers and FUDers much more difficult as they will have to jump accounts more often in order to produce damage.

On the negative side, we might end up with loads of scammers and FUDers with Jr. Member rank in a month or so if they keep the accounts active.

What do you think?

Please vote!!!

I would vote No not because I support what you are clamouring against but because generalising because of the actions of some set of people and a result make everybody guilty of that action is not ideal. If the rule had been in place, then you wouldn't have the number of such posts a junior member with 119 posts, I see it as someone climbing the stairs and then cutting the ladder. There is a control already as a newbie on the time frame he will post or reply to PMs.

What I would suggests, is to deal with people engage in that individually whereby you report to the moderator such individual, when they found merit in it, they act on it also for the fact that someone does not agree with a project means its a FUD.
2486  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is the future if bounty campaigns? on: October 31, 2017, 06:10:00 PM
It is not a secret that most for now ICO is a bubble and there is too many projects trying to gather funds this way. I expect this bubble to dump in the next year and then we will be able to see the real amount of ICOs. This will definetely affect the bounty campaigns on this forum. What are you expecting? Will the bounty campaigns change their rates (not only in btc but also in usd value) or they just won't be affective and devs will give up on them?
I'm curious to hear the opinion of mature users of this forum that seen the developement of such campaign activities.

It is true that there are several scam projects out there and a lot of them them will burst as you have rightly expounded and that will create a room for the more serious projects to launch as well and have a platform to reach the amount of audiences that is needed. However, the end of the ICOs is not going to end just yet because the entire market is decentralised and newbies coming into the space will continue to fall prey of such ICOs.

Concerning the future of campaign, a lot of opportunity will also be open because advertisement will now be focused on quality rather than quantity. People who want to join campaigns will then have to go through serious screening and deliver content for what they are being paid, the forum will get a lot more saner as the activities will be about quality and finally the amount to be paid will also increase because quality is now being delivered.
2487  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Xaxistech account and three weeks campaign payment on: October 31, 2017, 05:26:33 PM
That is why not a good idea to join in a campaign if the signature campaign manager is not trusted or funds are not escrowed..
Its happening sometimes that there are some campaign are not paying and some manager are not trusted in the end you will just wasting your time promoting their signature..
I see the account of Xaxistech but looks like he don't care about paying your signature payment.  So for now better to forgot it and learn since there are lots of campaign there that you can join. .

Its not about the signature manager and the likes several things can happen to people without plan and even the escrow too is also an human being in which several things beyond his powers can happen to him. If you understand what really happened to the manager in this case, it could have happen to anybody. A look at the Meta section of the forum will give you a clue about what exactly is going on concerning the issue redeeming accounts.

In as much as I am not absolving the manager from what is going on, I think its also important on us to be considerate and the moment he is able to sort himself out but didn't redeem his responsibility that is when he would be called out and treated as a scam but not until then.
2488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Goodbye Blockchain. Hello Hashgraph. on: October 31, 2017, 12:12:22 PM
Please don't shoot me Tongue  I too reacted the same way when I read the topic title.Infact, being an optimistic blockchain supporter,I didn't even bother to open the article until the geek inside me pushed me to.Anyway,I was surprised.I mean we should embrace the changes right ? Here ya go,welcome HashGraph.

https://cryptoanswers.net/goodbye-blockchain-hello-hashgraph/

For the lazy heads
Quote
The new consensus algorithm

Introducing Hashgraph – a fair and fast, byzantine fault tolerant consensus algorithm. According to the founding Hashgraph team consisting of computer science and cybersecurity pioneers Dr. Leemon Baird and Mance Harmon, the hashgraph consensus method achieves the following notable feats:

It’s fast: 250,000+ transactions per second and limited only by a users bandwidth (Pre-Sharding)
It’s fair: mathematically proven fairness (via Consensus Time Stamping)
It’s secure: bank-grade security (Asynchronous Byzantine Fault Tolerant)
Why is Hashgraph superior to Blockchain?
[read the actual article to know more]

All I can say is that good for them for such landmark achievement. Reading through the article makes me realise that these people are not looking to sell their invention rather they are about attacking the already establish infrastructure that has been tested and found to be worthwhile but I am actually not bother because its not enough to build a project but convincing people to use such project and for them to abandon the one they have come to know all their life.

A lot of project, nice ones have been done with some coming with the slogan "the first breakthrough" "the best you are to see" "the new bitcoin" but at the end, its about the faith people have in bitcoin and the blockchain and not about how ingenious the technology is about.
2489  Economy / Exchanges / Re: NovaExchange closing soon.. SELL-OFF!!! on: October 30, 2017, 10:38:43 PM
I have seen several threads open up because of Nova Exchange closing down but this is not the first time this will happen, several businesses have closed down and even some only gave a short period of time (bit mixer comes to mind) and several others that have closed down that we don't  even know anything about. Its their decision, they know the best reason why they are taking that course of action.

I think the reason why the site is not loading is the amount of people all over the world trying to withdraw their funds at the same time forgetting that the business is not closing totally until 2018 which means there is enough time to withdraw your funds just take your time as they are not expected to steal the resources of their clients.
2490  Economy / Services / Re: Over, sorry! on: October 30, 2017, 07:59:50 PM
Hey guys,  I'm a new member,  but I want to help people.  I've just learned about signature campaigns and I would be willing to help someone out if they want to use my signature for their benefit.  I will be doing my own research before putting you in my signature so if you're a scammer don't bother.  1st legit person to reply with a signature for me to use within reason will get my signature until this account is able to get into a paid signature campaign.  =)
Edit:Signature given out now =)

Why I would comment is that you are one rare of a kind and your line of thought shows you are not a newbie. You might be according to the rank on the forum but you are not one when it comes to bitcoin or related activities because while other  newbie their concern is how they want to join a campaign and make money without even time to contribute the time to earn 30 activities on the forum, its about joining a campaign for newbie and the likes.

But contrary to that, you are concerned about giving back and willing to help someone spread the news of his service to the community. I think you are a worthy member and I hope you can keep it up.
2491  Economy / Speculation / Re: I do not have the guts to buy bitcoins now. on: October 30, 2017, 06:36:38 PM
I do not even have the courage to buy Bitcoin. Although I believe Bitcoin a lot. Many of my friends have made a lot of money by investing in Bitcoin. So I am thinking that I will buy Bitcoin in the future. As Bitcoin too Rising to 5000+ USD   Grin

WHAT DO YOU THINK ?  Roll Eyes

No one is forcing you to buy or invest in bitcoin as its your ultimate decision and I even wished you waited till the time you would have gathered your guts together. In coming fully into bitcoin, you don't need to be ready financially enough but also mentally ready for anything that might come out as a result of that.

But the concern here is that you don't come back after one year to wyne about your regrets in bitcoin or how you should have followed your friend and couple of those threads that add no value to current situation.
2492  Economy / Economics / Re: Why most bitcoin users from good economies countries? on: October 30, 2017, 04:56:51 PM
We can not deny the big country with good economy, it will make the society economy better too.
So they can follow the economic development and participate in transactions and investments in Bitcoin era.
How the people of small countries can participate in participation and benefit from it?
It would be very difficult to calculate the statistics of users of each country, but the comparison of Bitcoin ATM growth from this early 2017 report can be the initial reference of the statistics.
Perhaps by the end of this year, there will be more Bitcoin ATM growth across the board due to the growing interest in bitcoin this year.

Advanced countries don't only have the big economies but they also have the facilities to aid the penetration of bitcoin compare to several other countries and the reason why I think the United States is at the fore front is because of the amount of freedom its citizens enjoy no matter how they want to control it. Facilities that are lacking in some poor countries of the world are

1. Internet especially in third world countries is still a very scarce commodity and expensive one in which we all know that knowing about bitcoin alone is dependent on this essential commodity.

2. The level of education, in the advanced world, the literacy level of there is very much high where you will hardly see someone that didnt have any formal education  but down to the third world countries you are even unable to count the amount of population that does not even know that a computer exists.

3. Another issue of concern is adequate statistics which is something that the advanced countries have lacking in the third world countries.

Summing all the above together, I don't expect anything different in that statistics and for the third world countries, it only shows that there is a long way to go.
2493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Buying and Holding the only way? on: October 30, 2017, 04:29:26 PM

Several ways are avaliable
Earning through bitcoin is basically based on the amount of risk you are willing to take. For someone who wants to take low risk, then buying and holding might be the only option for him or her. But also worthy of note is that the higher the risk, the higher the return. For someone who has flair for moderate risk, then trading is the way, ICOs is an option as well as bounties because here the risk of losing money is there if the ICO decides not to live to expectation or the negativity ended its reign. If it works out, then the returning profit in addition to bonus of early investment might turn out to be a mine.

For high risk taker, gambling and HYIP are the best option, the more the returns the higher the chance of losing them all.
2494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction with very low fees on: October 30, 2017, 03:08:31 PM
I sent about couple bitcoin cash from Electrum wallet to an exchange today and I didn't realize the fees was terribly low, only 0.009 mbit until i sent it. Of course i didn't mean to pay such a low fee but the wallet didn't show the fees; the fee slider was in the middle position and i assumed it's paying an average fee...

Anyway, since the fee is so low, what will happen? Is it possible nobody will mine my transaction and i lost my coins? Is there anything i can do?

thanks all!

All hope is not lost as your bitcoin is very much available in the blockchian so you have two options which are

1. Wait till forever, so that it will confirm or return back to your wallet eventually or

2. Try the accelerations services. Some are paid some are free but trying it out will show whether you will pay or not.

2495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There are more gold than Bitcoin on: October 30, 2017, 12:31:40 PM
Scientists yesterday 17/10/2017 discovered a vast supply of gold on the far side of the universe.
The extraordinary hoard is the result of a huge collision between two ultra-dense neutron stars.
The resulting gravitational waves and radiation flash were picked up by powerful detectors and telescopes on Earth and in orbit.
The explosion happened 130 million years ago in the Hydra constellation, which is so far away that the light and the ripples in space and time have only just reached us.
The gold created by the blast is estimated to weigh more than the whole of the Earth’s mass. Huge quantities of platinum, uranium and other heavy elements such as lead were also created.
Scientists not only 'heard' the phenomenon by measuring vibrations in space-time, they also used satellite and ground-based telescopes to see light and radiation pouring out of the stellar fireball, dubbed a 'kilonova'.
Excited astronomers talked of opening a 'new chapter in astrophysics' and unlocking a 'treasure trove' of new science.
The discovery will help scientists better understand the inner workings and emissions of neutron stars, as well as more fundamental physics such as general relativity and the expansion of our universe.
One scientists suggests the event 'will be remembered as one of the most studied astrophysical events in history.'

21,000,000 Vs infinite amount of gold. find more than 21M Bitcoins.
I copied this from dailymail Uk. Bitcoin @$10,000 first month of 2018.

Unfortunately, sand is even more than both gold and bitcoin combined but its not about the quantity but rather its about the value of the items you are comparing. I dont need to read about the scientist report to know that the amount of gold is more than bitcoin even comapring the quantity alone is an exercise in futility. The amount of gold can only be estimated up till the amount that has been discovered because it a natural endowment which could be anywhere but because it has not been discovered, we begin to compare it with bitcoin that has a definite end.

Come to think of. I have not seen any where bitcoin is now competing with gold in terms of value as that will be a battle lost from the beginning.
2496  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Hi. New to the Forum. Checking on E.B.M.E (scammed) on: October 30, 2017, 05:34:10 AM
I have sent you a PM, I may be able to assist you in chasing these guys down.

I have contacts within ICE which could help us track these guys down.  I know where their domain was registered, I've got a hold of their IP (They've tried using a VPN but it's obviously fairly clunky, as it cuts out a fair bit).

Check your PM if you interested in my assistance.
I have skype if you wish to discuss this further.

The moment this user is asking you for funds to track down your $200 for you, just be very careful. J am not saying he is trying to scam you but you might be on your way to lose more than the initial $200 because I  wonder how a newbie with just 2 posts coming online and the first thing he wants to offer is his investigative skills.

Thanks. His website is:

https://www.bitcoinebme.online/

I will certainly update if he chooses to do the right thing and pay me back.

I hope to see him do the right thing but don't keep your hopes high because for the fact that he has a website means this is not a one time thing and a lot of people would have been scammed through his method. The onus is on you to find your information be fire going to trust someone online or offline. There are reputable sites even for US citizens where you can start from although the fee might be high but its better than being scammed.
2497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what will you do if the bitcoin exchange rate is pennilished? on: October 30, 2017, 05:09:07 AM
The bitcoin exchange rate continues to increase and will surely continue to increase along with its reputation.
As a user how do you respond?
1. What do you fear if the bitcoin exchange rate goes down?
2. Do you continue to use bitcoins or vice versa?

Issues like this have been discussed over and over again but for the sake of emphasis, anyone in bitcoin expecting price to always be on the increase is either living in ignorance or believe something else other than bitcoin. Price is erected to swing both ways yesterday, I saw price high as $6178 this morning dripped to $6151. Something must have happen and someone somewhere has panicked thereby sold.

In determining what to do in the case of falling price, the question is are you comfortable at that price. If I am comfortable, I will sell but if I am not, I will hold because its goes down, it will swings back up just like now that its up, expect it to also swing down.

adress.
Also  you can use this qr code:

What can i escrow:

I can handle personal trades with me holding Bitcoins.
I can make escrow with everyone whose risked amount are at least $20 per account. Otherwise the risk i can help avoiding and the amount of time i have to implement are in no sane proportion.

I might take other accounts or things into escrow when its possible to secure them.

Ask me for other things here in thread or by pm.

Contact me by pm or in this thread or whatsapp me or email me. Ill get back to you and ask you for the details or send you the escrow deal details directly, when i know the business partner.

Never send to an address that was quoted by someone who claims i sent it to him. I will always send the escrow addresses directly to both parties. If youre unsure if the one writing you is really me then ask me to sign a message with one of the above posted addresses. That will prove that i still own this account.

When answering PM's, please always use "Reply to all" so that all involved parties get informed.

How to contact
Whatsapp: +1 405 338 7569
Gmail: atoz83@gmail.com

Why?

Lets give scammers zero chances

With the feedback you got, I think its even unnecessary because I don't see any right thinking individual would use a newbie for an escrow not because they are saying you are a scam, but because it does not just work that way even in the fiat world not to talk of on the forum.

Ask yourself this question a new member coming to the group, would he be made the treasurer or the financial secretary on his first visit? The answer is no and the same thing its applicable here. The service you intend to offer is one that is so sensitive about trust which is not cheap no matter how you intend to make it look that way.
2499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can Africans benefits from Blockchain technology? on: October 29, 2017, 08:07:40 PM
How can Africans benefits from Blockchain technology?
The block chain technology from where I see it can benefit Africa in several ways. However, one issue Africa is  grappling with in the 21st century is the issue of electoral malpractices although there are still some issues with the advanced world but at the same time, this part if harnessed can be used for the betterment of Africa. The moment the process of choosing leaders can be error free, then the part to greater development can be cleared and gotten to easily.

With the blockchain, there won't be need for elections to be decides in courts or any form of rerun because everyone will be able to see it from the blockchain and if the election is done several times again, the same result will still be gotten and nothing on the contrary.
2500  Economy / Speculation / Re: Almost 6k? on: October 29, 2017, 05:52:44 PM
Seems like we might be making a push to 6k? I feel like this might be it!

I guess you are just coming online to know that bitcoin price is only just approaching the $6k mark when even in the past days, we have touched above $6100 before falling and rigmarole around what we are seeing now.

A lot of people are now seeing the bitcoin price beyond the $6k because we have seen it so its no longer an impossible point to break and when it does this time, its going to be a convenient one that could rise to touch $7k and when we get that, we aim higher. Update yourself and be part of the things to come and not those ones that have passed.
