3461  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: My Unconfirmed Transaction Problem Solved Atlast on: May 23, 2017, 09:35:36 PM
I use Blockchain.info as my wallet. I had several of my Bitcoin transactions pending for days(5days and counting), I tried using some services(both paid and free ones) to speed up the transactions without success. While going through this forum I came across a comment on how easy it is transferring through Poloniex. I tried transfering some of my trading money & behold it transfered very fast in less than 5minutes to be precised.

I have decided to use poloniex as both wallet and trading platform until the problem of pending transaction is solved. Meanwhile all my other transactions at Blockchain.info remain unconfirmed. I don't know if I can cancel them or reroute all the Bitcoin to my Poloniex address. I have replaced my former Wallet address with Poloniex Bitcoin Address in all Bitcoin services I use online.

You too can try this.
It seems this is a good option to go by in this time of massive unconfirmed transactions in which I am also still looking for solution to for several days now. But the issue is that based on this your enlightenment and the pressure land population moved to poloniex, will they be able to handle the traffic and we won't be back to want we are running from in the first place considering poloniex has been having some issues in this past few days.

We would like to publish a deposit address that may be linked to funds from illegimate activities.

I am sorry for the loss you have to suffer from the hands of people who have no measure of morals even if its for a little amount of it that the only thing they rejoice in is robbing people of  their hard earned resources but unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it and even if the account is tagged there are several bitcoin mixing services that would make it "clean" just for a fee and nothing can happen again.
3463  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Transactions stuck in wallet, not sure what to do on: May 23, 2017, 06:09:12 PM
I've been using bitcoin for a few years for periodic transactions, never had any problems until now. I use blockchain.info as my wallet. I had no idea that their "dynamic fee calculator" is useless and recommends fees that are too low for transactions to be confirmed when the load is high, like now.

I'm hoping to receive some advice.

Here is the background:

On May 16, 12 AM, I sent bitcoin using the fee recommended by blockchain.info. The fee was 105.116 sat/B. This transaction was not confirmed after a long time, so on May 18, 9 PM, I sent again using a higher fee, 116.078 sat/B. (I would have gone with a higher fee, but it was warning me not to.)

On May 20 in the morning, I noticed that both transactions had disappeared from the record of my wallet, so at 8:45 AM, I sent again with a higher fee, 116.732 sat/B. By this time, I had learned that the fees recommended by blockchain.info are too low for transactions to be confirmed when the load is high. I intended to use the fee recommended by https://bitcoinfees.21.co/, but I used their median transaction size of 226 bytes, not realizing it was incorrect because there should have been two outputs, 257-258 bytes. Since this fee was also too low to get quickly confirmed, it got stuck.

On May 20, 2:10 PM, the original two transactions reappeared with a later date / time. The original was counted as a double spend with the newest. All three are still in the pool with 0/3 confirmations. The second transaction is not a double spend, but it's stuck.

I need to send some bitcoins, but I’m not sure how long I must wait. I thought it was “safe” when the first two transactions disappeared, but that wasn’t the case. Based on what happened before, I’m assuming if I try again, the same thing will happen, since there is still an unconfirmed transaction. So how long should I wait before I try again? When will the double spend transactions disappear from my wallet?

I can really relate with his and even looking for answers for my own situation when on Saturday I made transfer from the same blockchain using the recommended fee which obviously was too low and unfortunately till today the amount still remain unconfirmed and didn't even return to the originating wallet which is something so annoying to witness at this time.
3464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I think we are greedy on: May 23, 2017, 02:10:25 PM
I have been trying to deposit/withdraw fiat into different exchanges, and I found that most fees are absolutely ridiculous (7%-10%?!). With many options to deposit/withdraw fiat (and different fees), I think we are getting a bit greedy with Bitcoin.

According to Bitcoin price at the moment, depositing fiat worth of 1BTC ($2,053) requires fees ranging between $21-$205, while most of us want to transact that same 1BTC with something like $0.5 and getting rage over the delay!

I think paying $1-$5 in fees is relatively acceptable, since bitcoin price is rising every single day.

The fact that bitcoin price is rising everyday is a enough reason why the transaction fees should also increase but at the same time, we should not be unmindful that its is not only the fees that people are complaining about but the timing it takes for transaction to confirm aside that the issue of change in the transaction fees in a matter of seconds is another issue of concern.
3465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: high fees, bitcoin or ethereum! on: May 23, 2017, 01:01:00 PM
when looking at below picture remember these:
  • bitcoin apart from increased adoption has been under a heavy spam attack.
  • there is no block size problem in ethereum.
  • number of etehreum transactions are ~0.3 bitcoin.
  • there are lot of transaction in bitcoin mempool competing and causing the fee rise.
  • there is no backlog in ethereum!

just for fun:
Buterin: "bitcoin transactions cost five cents.... it is absurd"
fast forward to 2017: ethereum fees are 50 cents! and it is not even adopted by any real thing!
When comparing two items it is only right to compare two similar things together with the same characteristics which in his case is not right. Comparing btc with ETH and making conclusion is only wrong but uninformed it is when both have been able to get to the same volume or users couple with price that is when the comparison can be an informed one.
3466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So finally it did was not difficult to dethrone bitcoin! on: May 23, 2017, 05:56:19 AM
The reason for your conclusion is best known to you but at the same this time its not bounding on others. The simple fact is nothing is perfect and every alt out there that prides on better than bitcoin cannot be sure they can stand when they face the pressure and volume in which bitcoin faces and if compromising in one area as you are insinuating then I see nothing wrong and hoping bitcoin will still come out top.
3467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is faster transaction Bitcoin or Ethereum ? on: May 22, 2017, 09:16:21 PM
Even though as at today, I am still pissed at the amount of time it takes for btc transaction to confirm that does not mean it should be compared with ETH simply because of the fact that they are not operating on the same level considering the number of people involved in both currencies. Until the people involved are same then the two can be compared in other to determine which one is faster of the two.
3468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Bitcoin ever replace conventional money? on: May 22, 2017, 08:50:28 PM
Could Bitcoin ever replace conventional money?

If any one thinking bitcoin will replace conventional currency, it won't happen if not for anything, considering the fact that the conventional currency has been with us from time immemorial  that people have gotten used to it  and comparing it to bitcoin in which the majority of people involved are youths who have some understanding of how the internet works and this category represent only a portion of the total population.
3469  Other / Off-topic / Re: Other than Bitcoin, How to earn money in online on: May 22, 2017, 06:55:33 PM
Hey guys i'm earning bitcoins i'm putting hardwork for it, my time, my effort but sometimes i earn sometimes not, that's why i'm job searching, exploring on how can i make money online other than bitcoin Like Freelance, Making Blog but i don't know how to earn from it that's why i'm asking to all who has a lot of knowledge and experienced person to give me an advice to make money online like a part time job or tips i will appreciate all your advice

The issue here is that you are not earning bitcoin but you are being paid bitcoin for the services you are offering and that would also happen depending on the currency that is accepted in any other place you are going to offer your service and nothing else. For me, I do freelancing where I am being paid dollars using payoneer and that could also be offered here if any needs it but then I would receive bitcoin.
3470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How darknet drug-dealers keep their privacy ? on: May 22, 2017, 06:52:17 PM
When they go post to deliver the drugs there are cameras there.
And if there is ever investagtion against them can easily check cameras and see who sent it.
Did i miss something ?
Of course one might be caught through that means but I would say its for the amateurs because for someone who know the importance of  security will choose a dark spot where the camera would capture and aside that with the level of advancement that the people there pride on, then I don't see cameras as a  big issue that is unsurmountable. Its even a small issue for concern.
3471  Economy / Services / Re: Looking to invest.. on: May 22, 2017, 09:39:49 AM
The first thing I guess you should do first is to stream line the kind of investment that is allowable by you to invest in because you you will get  a lot of suggestions which might not even work for you. When that is settled, then you just need to go to the right section of the forum if its crypto related and just find any one with  alignment to yours then invest because that is the best source as the vetting would have been done for you by other members of the forum.
3472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale] NVO Decentralized Exchange | Multi Wallet 🌟🌟🌟 Escrows 🌟🌟🌟 on: May 22, 2017, 08:54:42 AM
This is interesting.....Sorry if this has been asked but will there be any bonus offered on the first day?
I think that is much better if there is some bonuses at the first day it helps to gather more users to invest huge amount of money.
And im hoping for the success of this project because i also gain if that would happened.

The developers or people authorised to speak on the matter have equally responded and I am sure its for the best that they think that is the right way to go even up to the extent of not reserving anything for the developer which something that is scarce around here.  The fair platform is a good one where every one get the same amount irrespective of the time they participate so far its still within the time frame allowed.

3474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be used in space? on: May 15, 2017, 12:23:47 PM
If people can live in space then they will need to transact with one and another. To do this effectively they will need a generally accepted currency to make transactions seamless so if they agreed that they want to go the way of bitcoin, then they have the to put the infrastructure in place among which the access to internet is key. The moment they do that then they can spend bitcoin and if they decide they want to use the physical coin, then so be it.
3475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank in Norway now supports Bitcoin on: May 15, 2017, 12:00:10 PM
A bank called Skandiabanken in Norway now supports Bitcoin. However you cannot purchase the Bitcoins through the bank, you'll be redirected to Coinbase in order to buy.

I don't have this bank myself, so I cannot test this. It seems like it's just linked to Coinbase and the bank does not store the coins on their servers.

This feature is in a beta phase, and the laws in Norway could cause conflicts. I think this is a huge step, and I hope this will soon be supported in more banks. This feature is mainly for investors, you cannot use it to pay bills and such.

Here's a link to the article translated to English:  https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&nv=1&rurl=translate.google.no&sp=nmt4&tl=en&u=http://e24.no/privat/bitcoin/naa-faar-du-bitcoin-i-nettbanken-kan-ikke-fornekte-ny-teknologi/23996559&usg=ALkJrhjVd47hlRvCuPcMw4r7-8SKmywfYw

The amount of revenue coming to banks as a result of exchange activities from bitcoin to fiat and vice versa cannot be under estimated and I think thats what the bank in Norway is trying to exploit taking into consideration the dicey nature of the law around there and that is why they are not selling directly so they refer you just like they would refer any of their customer to any entrepreneur who has agreed to work with the bank without them being responsible but hopefully things will get sorted and there wont be for any unnecessary intermediaries.
3476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You know you're a Bitcoin gambler when... on: May 15, 2017, 09:57:08 AM
When dice are no longer little cubes but instead a random number generated from 0-infinity.

When the word bust stops meaning boobs and now means you lost all your money.

When you get mad at a bot and take it personally when it didn't randomly select you from the crowd.

This is really the word to use when it came to your attention that you were thinking you will roll a dice and the maximum will be six but unfortunately for you, you roll and get > 3000 and you were wondering, are we still playing dice?
Another is when you realised that it will be better for an elephant to pass through a needle eye before you can hit the jack pot and you money is just reducing gradually.

While congratulations is in order based on the successful ICO the project has been able to garner couple with the team of reputable individuals in the crypto world, the next is to hope that the project delivers on its promises to bring reasonable return on investments for investments so we can all be proud to be part of another success story.
3478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Returning to bitcoin after 2 years! shocked at confirmation time! on: May 15, 2017, 08:33:04 AM
This was not the bitcoin i had seen!

What in the world has happened to bitcoin

It is almost one day and the transaction has not been confirmed and as a result i am not able to trade in any exchange..

i have heard that the transaction confirmation time has increased but never expected this worst case.. at this rate everyone will soon abandon bitcoin and this is the reason perhaps bitcoin dominance has come down significantly in the crypto space

Sincerely, thats how bad things have turned out to be but we are still here. When I joined bitcoin all those people predicting the death of bitcoin based on reasons like this that they foresaw, I believe that everything they were saying is a myth. I transfer and receive within minutes even with confirmations couple with low fees but now the only thing that can be said is 'the good old days'.
3479  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin recovery on: May 14, 2017, 08:19:25 PM
Hi everyone,

A few weeks ago I discovered when trying to access my bitcoin wallet that I had misplaced both by seed phrase and password for the wallet.  Having saved bitcoin for over a year into this wallet you can imagine my dispair upon learning that without the seed phrase or password  I had effectively lost this money forever!

After struggling for weeks to find any hope of recovering my bitcoin, I was pointed in the direction of a person called Dave at http://www.walletrecoveryservices.com by a member on this forum.  Dave was a fantastic support throughout.   Not only did he successfully recover my password an enable me to access my bitcoin again but he gave proactive advice and support to me on how to transfer my coin and setup a secure new wallet once I had gained control of the lost wallet.  I couldn't recommend Dave enough to anyone struggling to recover their  wallets.  if you are dispair ad need someone trustworthy to help get in touch with him

Cheers
Matt

Wow thats so cool to you but why do I have a feeling that you are both Dave and Matt at the same time because I really need to understand how you were able to recover because I could just go to Dave with any wallet id then tell him the same story then I steal the bitcoin that belong to someone else simply because you want me to patronise your service. If you are sure of the services, just tell Dave to create an announcement to offer his service then all questions will be directed at him to determine the legitimacy of his services.
3480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is useless or is it? on: May 14, 2017, 07:49:24 PM
To say the transaction fees is not a matter for concern will be an understatement because the cost these days is definitely on the high side but I still don't believe its what makes bitcoin useless as we still have other advantages that will still work for to the favour of bitcoin like the anonymity and the convenience is something that means a lot.
