3481  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Hinges on People Holding their Coins - Remove this, it Tanks on: May 14, 2017, 06:56:43 PM
Even cashing out bitcoin at once will not even work out as the only thing that keeps the price high is the forces of demand and supply which means if everyone should cash out, it will means the supply will be more than demand thereby forcing the price down forcefully so the issue of marketing does not comes in but something drastic will have to push that and not planning or wishful thinking.
3482  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is better: Trading Forex, Stock, Metal or Crypto? on: May 14, 2017, 06:35:23 PM
For me, I will still prefer trading crypto to other options you have listed there and the reason for that is because of the relative flexibility and even a very platform to actually actualize one dream easily even with the required tools to make that happen. Crypto is still very young and that presents unlimited opportunity to be harness with various projects coming into the mainstream which one can quickly cash into without too much stress to even gather information.
3483  Economy / Economics / Re: Nobody Can Have Benefit From a Big Pump on: May 13, 2017, 01:07:39 PM
If Bitcoin price pumps from $1300 to $3000 in few hours, nobody would make profit from it, because the exchanges wouldn't allow you to sell your Bitcoins and make the fast profit, it would bring a big loss for exchange sites.

Do you agree with this?

I agree with you but the issue is the exchange site are equally protecting themselves even though they should rather not do that. The reason for my position is that part of what makes an exchange popular is liquidity in that when I want to sell, I should be able to do so within limited time or else I won't trust them but not all this time are buyers at all time are available so they buy before then selling to who ever makes an order. But what will happen to them the moment the price increases at that rate without anybody to buy at the moment and they allow you sell which meas they owe you and if they cannot redeem it, the next is scam accusation thread which might damage their reputation. With that, what they do is just study what happen next before just jumping here and there and we all know the volatility nature of price.
3484  Economy / Economics / Re: Moment for buying or selling? on: May 13, 2017, 12:50:28 PM
I was thinking, because of Bitcoin price skyrocketed, would it be wise to buy bitcoin now? I have some bitcoin in wallet, but nothing much, and i was thinking to buy some bitcoin more. But because of price rising in last few days i am not sure what to do, because if i buy now, maybe price will go down and ill lose profit, or maybe it will go up and i did not buy so ill lose profit too. What are your thinking on matter and what do you think how much will price of bitcoin rise this year?

First rule to know is that nothing is certain in bitcoin and even if you buy now, there is no guarantee that you are going to make profit although by buying now might contribute to the pull to push the price higher but that's just contributing to a pool you don't even know the direction in which others in pool are contributing towards. Just buy and put your mind away from it.
3485  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin treated as money in Australia from 1. july on: May 13, 2017, 08:48:11 AM
In as much as it is a good news to be heard in this time, but I still feel can bitcoin handle all this pressure by the time a lot of people start coming into it. Good the price of bitcoin will increase but what will be the effect on the transaction fees that will come with it or the number of hours that delay will occur in the process of making a transfer between a buyer and seller knowing fully well that once a confirmation does not happen then double spending can occur, won't this open another room for scammers to continue their exploitation of innocent people.
3486  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the best short-term investment you have ever made? on: May 13, 2017, 08:25:26 AM
The best short term investment that I have made up to date was just to buy bitcoin at a price in the morning by evening when the price at increased a little to cover my cost and stress, I just sold it off because I was scared the price might go down further and I might blame myself for it. Other short investments have turned to be scam with HYIP promising 24hours return. I was bitten on that part too.
3487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: You might trade for profit but... on: May 13, 2017, 06:31:27 AM
Aside what others have suggested, you also need to be careful of the fees that will be incurred in making that kind of decision. The cost of transferring to the site to buy, then the charges they will deduct from your withdrawal when you buy,  then you consider the charges of transferring after you finish selling in other to move to your origin wallet if one is not careful, all these charges might overshadow the profit or makes it marginal to no longer worth the stress.
3488  Economy / Speculation / Re: To the moon! on: May 12, 2017, 07:27:42 PM
We are experiencing a moon dip people. I think the launch will be delayed by a few weeks. This may be your last chance to buy under $1700 Wink

coloured moon: when bitcoin to the moon, so do the altcoins. lmao! bitcoin going to 2000 is really ready to happen, thought it wouldn't be this month.

Every idiot and their dog wants to go back in time to 2010 and buy 100,000 bitcoins but it's not going to happen. 99.99% of alts are shitcoins so good luck with that hyper inflated bubble you're buying into. Most have no value at all as they're just clones of other coins.

That's the blunt truth when the price was below $1000 same people who were pessimists believe it will go to below $500 then I will buy, but bitcoin was ready to shame them by keeping the flag high on the increasing side and unfortunately for them they cannot still buy now because of their view that it will crash or its dead. And to all of us who believed, I say to the moon here we come.
3489  Economy / Economics / Re: Where did you first heard about Bitcoins? on: May 12, 2017, 06:22:52 PM
My own first awareness about bitcoin was like several years ago when I was just curious about making money online but was unlucky to just get in the hands of HYIP so part of the currency they always accept is bitcoin and the symbol BTC is always every where on the internet but my laziness to research made me lose a lot which I am still regretting till today. It better to be late to the party than not to be present.
3490  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Poloniex caused the market to crash on: May 12, 2017, 03:15:25 PM
No trades for the past hour on poloniex because of "server lag." Its been happening the past few days too. Mods say they are "working on it." Lol.

Pretty sad considering the daily profit they make from fees.

So because they are having issues with maintenance means they are causing market to crash the smae way I tried accessing livecoin website I think yesterday then I got the notification that they are doing maintenance. Are they also causing price to crash, I doubt that. Its normal for site to face downtime and most times is for the greater good considering the fact that they are also losing money during the downtime.
3491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Know a Whale? on: May 12, 2017, 01:49:45 PM
So almost all of us know this term "whale" and it is used a lot when it comes to crypto currencies and their value, and especially around pumps and dumps when the perception is that a value manipulation is going on. But behind the term, there are people like you and me right?
So do you happen to know a whale in person? Or Are you a One?

Even if I am one which I am not, you dont expect that I come out loud to say it. The fact is even if anybody comes out to say he is one, people like you and me will still doubt such individuals so our best bet is to just continue to play with the wind based on calculated risks and on day if luck shines on us, and when that happens, it will look as if we had insider information.
3492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Problem Bitcoin volatile Nature on: May 12, 2017, 12:52:53 PM
Having read the arguments for both and against volatility, it seems there is no end to this discussion but my point of view is that if there is need for the massive break-in bitcoin is waiting for, then there is need for a fairly stability in price. How do we want a big retail store like Amazon, Alibaba, Ebay to cost their goods where today a 25$ commodity could be say 0.015btc and tomorrow that same commodity could now 0.025btc with the complex infrastructure they run then its definitely going to be an herculean task.
3493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Macron supporting bitcoin? what does it mean for us? on: May 12, 2017, 11:30:29 AM
Its really good to see a young man getting to that position with so much agility and ability to understand what is obtained currently which is determinant of what is coming in the future. On his support for bitcoin, he might have soft spot for it in his own personal capacity, but when it comes to making decision that will affect the whole country then its beyond one person which is why I wont want to get my hopes high that his emergence as the new elected President will automatically gives bitcoin a soft landing in France.
3494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please dump it on: May 12, 2017, 10:39:36 AM
Guy you need to count your losses and move on. If you didnt lose this unearned income how will someone else make profit and thats how  it is because you also must have made some profit from the time you bought it till now and that person would have been in your shoes considering the increment that must have happen to price since you bought it from him. If you are confident that the price will increase, just get more now then sell later. Its a risk but its worth the shot.
3495  Economy / Speculation / Re: What price would you stop buying Bitcoin? on: May 12, 2017, 09:21:08 AM
The price of Bitcoin is hitting new highs regularly now...  and yet it is expected to continue rising.  At what price would you stop buying?

At this point, it does not matter the price at which everyone intended to stop buying because at an increase in that price someone is willing to still buy more. Bitcoin today has expanded beyond the reach of individuals and this is gradually going beyond the reach of countries. Its a free market that even if we on this forum agrees not to buy, there are millions of people outside the forum that are willing to mop up those ones we are refusing and the price still remain the same.
3496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A serious obstacle for bitcoin's popularity on: May 12, 2017, 08:54:58 AM
Yesterday morning I wanted to sell some btc and get my local currency. The suggested transaction fee was something like 0.0005 which is (was) less than dollar. Anyway, I agreed and was waiting for the transaction to proceed. Mostly I get lucky and my transactions are confirmed in a few minutes. This one is still pending after more than 24 hours (it's been 30 hours already). I believe if nothing can be done with this, bitcoin will inevitably stop at some point and won't be able to become more popular. Waiting for money for dozens of hours is just too wrong.

Your fear is same thing as people who have commented including myself because this issue if it continues without any solution in sight, then it might mean a serious calamity for bitcoin. Yours is still fair compared to people who pay high transaction fees and still have to wait several hours for it to confirm this is just my own case. I dont know what will happen if government now start adopting bitcoin and the population multiplied in multiple folds then we need to start waiting for weeks for transaction to get confirmed or even pay transaction fees that is higher than the amount itself.
3497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ulmart.ru to accept Bitcoin on: May 11, 2017, 01:49:43 PM
Ulmart, Russia's largest online retailer, plans to start accepting bitcoin as a form of payment from 1 September, 2017

Ulmart is Russia's largest privately held Internet company specializing in e-commerce. The company was founded in 2008, and its headquarters are located in St. Petersburg. Ulmart has over 450 infrastructure facilities (fulfilment centres and pick-up points) in more than 240 cities and towns across Russia. http://www.ulmart.ru

We are getting there gradually. It seems the silence of most governments will actually create a window to exploit and gradually the penetration will happen by the time they wake up from the business of politciking and world politics there wont be going back on how far bitcoin has gone and the result of that will be they wont have any other option than to just fall in line and give the required support to ensure it gets to the masses of the population.
3498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what price will you sell your BTC, and what will you buy? on: May 11, 2017, 11:55:51 AM
I really dont have a particular price at which I sell, as most times I have taken the decision to sell, its always based on the prevailing factor of my immediate need. Sometimes, it might be that be that there is an immediate need for cash, other times it might be the need to just have the funds in liquid form then I sell but before that, I tried to ask myself can I forgive myself should this be a wrong decision. But now, any I am able to get, I am waiting to sell at a so high price like say $3000 to buy a car.
3499  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Earning with BTCs? on: May 08, 2017, 06:48:29 PM
Hello, I have about 3 BTCs that I would like to earn a little bit off of...I tried BTCjam and most lenders didnt pay back, so I made negative there..

I dont know trading so I dont know how that would be... any other ideas? Smiley

Guy you need to know no matter the decision, it comes with its own risk or risks. Just settle your mind but the moment you are not sure of which one to go for, the best option is to keep your coins and that alone could give you reasonable return with little or no risk whatsoever and you equally have control over it.
3500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Start coin going up high reason on: May 08, 2017, 06:21:01 PM
Startcoin will never rise. It has been abandoned by the creators. He 'gave the coin to the community' to focus on Startjoin.

They always abandon their creations. Just like they did with Maxcoin and Quark before Startcoin.

Thats is the concern with Alts that the moment the developers have made some money, they just abandon the whole project all together without looking back, thinking it will just on its own displace bitcoin like magic even bitcoin on its own did not make it to the mainstram without support from developers at its early stage of growth.
