2501  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Free 0.01 Bitcoin to play at BetKing.io on: December 17, 2015, 09:08:28 PM
Ahh, so close, I only have 98 of activity...maybe in some more days or weeks hehe. Good luck!
2502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin user adoption is horrible - here is why: on: December 17, 2015, 08:59:44 PM
Right, but is there any incentive to actually build those services on top of Bitcoin?
2503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina’s New President Might Just be a Bitcoin Supporter on: December 17, 2015, 08:58:21 PM
Lol, thread is over!

I'm not from Argentina but very close if you know what I mean Wink However I still think Argentina has one of the most active Bitcoin communities, it's just that the title is misleading as most of the articles you see today in every news site.

What do you think about Bitcoin as a refuge from Argentina's peso volatility? I've never understood that because if there's something more volatile than the peso is Bitcoin value!
2504  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: December 17, 2015, 08:50:29 PM
Where are you guys getting these crazy ML spreads for the cavs? im seeing @1.57 on directbet

That's too low for my taste, I'll certainly go with it @1.8 or more. Even with Kyrie and Shumpert out I still think the Cavs will win this one at home.
2505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★DigiByte|极特币★★[DGB]✔$250k Investment, DigiByte Gaming, #DigiByteTip, DigiSpeed on: December 17, 2015, 06:06:48 PM
Ok, so you think DGB should fall back to the value it was before it pumped?...This is where you think DGB should be 20 sats before the pump? Have you not been around for the developments? This coin is gaining real value by the day. It is worth more today than in was at 20 before because (as much as trolls like to deny it) it is GAINING ACTUAL VALUE.

Please, that's just a slap in the face for many of us who are disappointed with the current state. It's actually the other way around, many new features and upgrades were made and if you look at the current value and adoption you think DGB world's going to end soon.

The real DGB value is what manipulators of this market dictate it is. That's it unless DGB comes out with a completely unique and innovative feature and change the game. The potential is still there of course.
2506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [SPECULATION] Next big thing in online gambling? on: December 17, 2015, 06:03:17 PM
My 2 cents..

#1 Mobile first. We have almost 25% mobile gamblers. With latest flash decline and canceled flash support by Adobe, we will see huge increase of mobile games like slots, blackjack and other card games.

#2 Professional service. Dice sites are dying. I think most casino owners would agree with me on this. To survive you need to pivot to a casino. It would require professional service, support, marketing, developers and designers. Each of them costs a lot of money, unless you are doing some lame product on bootstrap. (yeah, it's about BitDice too). And let's be clear, most dice site's doesn't generate money. By money I mean at least 30k USD monthly. Less is barely can be a business. And what is more important revenues should be stable, month to month.

#3 Engage. To make casino more attractive you need to engage gamblers in casino's life. Make a community. Levels, achievements, gamification, multiplayer games, like our slope which has failed, but we learned how we can make it worked and it will be on with our next version.

Regards,
Alex.

Yes I would add that bringing the mobile game apps monetization system into gambling would be great. People are paying to get weapon upgrades and virtual clothes and stupid things like that, so there must be a way to introduce gambling into cool games. However there is plenty of restrictions in this business in many countries so I know how hard it is (I've worked for many casino and gambling sites as a UI designer).
2507  Economy / Speculation / Re: How long will it take? on: December 17, 2015, 05:58:07 PM
Definitely decades sadly. One should take into consideration that the current generation of 10 year olds are completely digital born persons. I'm not talking most of us who adopted the digital world of smartphones, social media and instant and fast internet. These people were born with this as something to improve so imagine what we would have in 10-20 years, the sky is the limit.

Hopefully Bitcoin is the Internet in the 90s, something amazing that it's still in its infancy but with the potential to change the world in the near future.
2508  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Is running a faucet still profitable? on: December 17, 2015, 05:54:53 PM
I think it will be profitable for a long time since there are still many users entering the world of Bitcoin. I know when I first started I thought faucets were great, then after some time you understand they are a waist of time. Either way for many people who have the time and patience it can be a valid way to gather some BTC, specially with services like Faucet Box. In some years if the value rises a lot it could be just like the old days and those satoshis could be worth many dollars.
2509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin user adoption is horrible - here is why: on: December 17, 2015, 04:50:27 PM
I've been saying this for a long time but many users here are in complete denial thinking bitcoin is easy to adopt. It's actually one of the most complicated things that can be explained to a common person. That's why Apple and Google and Facebook rule the world, because it's easy and they work.

I'm not in Europe or the US, to get Bitcoins I have to rely on a local transaction (really?) or use shady sites with incredible fees. Even if you are in the states, what's the point of doing that if you just can pay with CC or Paypal? Not to mention non refundable transactions, decimals, endless address, authorization keys, brain wallets and god knows what.

Now don't get me wrong, the technology is completely unique just as the internet was once it started, but it's clearly on its infancy if the goal is to be massively adopted. Maybe in a couple of years with updates and price stability (something I won't even get started with) it can start being adopted by more people. Until then, it's only good as a commodity or investment (either short or long term).
2510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you holding your bitcoin for a price increase? on: December 17, 2015, 04:37:36 PM
I'm holding long term really, I don't have a big amount so I won't sell even at $1000, but of course everyone has a limit.
2511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on sport = gambling? on: December 17, 2015, 04:03:03 PM
For many of us mortals it is gambling and that's how the sites/companies make money, however there are some few genius individuals gifted with incredible math skills that make a living betting on certain sports (Baseball is a clear example). I saw this guy recently on FanDuel who was a scientist and resigned from his job to become a full time pro "gambler". If Fanduel and those type of fantasy games are actual gambling that's another discussion for another time.
2512  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you buying bitcoins? Why? on: December 17, 2015, 02:32:06 PM
I've bought at $230 and I don't think I'll be buying again unless it hits below $300 which I don't think it will happen anytime soon. I prefer to earn it organically than to convert fiat into it since in my country is a hassle to do that. I still don't have 1 BTC and I aim for that first and then I think I'll settle after I hit 2.1 BTC. If you have more money than me you can actually aim for 21 BTC hehe.
2513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are altcoins practically useful at all, or is it just BitCoins? on: December 17, 2015, 02:27:11 PM
There's absolutely no use for altcoins except to provide some different way to do things that Bitcoin may or not adopt. 90% are scams too, 100% are easily manipulated so the market itself is a joke. You can make money of course if you have some inside tips.

As for the future, don't fool yourself with nice talk and features, you can make money trading but there's more chance you hit the lottery than to ride one of these projects "to the moon".
2514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: December 17, 2015, 02:22:26 PM
Cleveland all the way for today, those are very good odds and I'm sure they will pull away at home, they are playing great right now and they would like to send a message to OKC which to me could be one of the contenders next year.
2515  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm All In - Sold My House! on: December 17, 2015, 03:03:01 AM
Sometimes it's great to read stories like that to get some perspective. Many of us just have 1 BTC and many even less and worry about it all the time even if we know selling it won't change anything in our lives. Perhaps in the future it might but not right now at the current value.
2516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving Party 2016 on: December 17, 2015, 02:54:50 AM
I think the price will increase if there's demand that is not met really, halving will impact other areas but not sure if it will translate quite literally like you said.
2517  Economy / Economics / Re: Open a bank account without many papers that will respect my privacy on: December 17, 2015, 02:53:00 AM
Most banks if they have some name behind them will ask for proof of income and other personal details, it's just the way it is and it's actually required by the government so I don't see how you can avoid that unless you want to trust some shady ones with your money.
2518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving Party 2016 on: December 17, 2015, 02:48:29 AM
Maybe the price stands relatively stable and nothing major happens, is that possible? I think 2016-17 are crucial years on the development of Bitcoin for better or for worse.
2519  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC going up for 500$ again ? ::) on: December 17, 2015, 01:20:28 AM
Definitely a possibility and $600 is not out of the question. Of course it will come back down in January if that was the case but if we could build support @500 by then that would great.
2520  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Official Xapo Service Discussion on: December 16, 2015, 10:59:09 PM
I hate the verification process, the SMS verification code works 1 in 5 times. I didn't have to use support yet but from what I read it's atrocious.
