2521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin arcade machine? on: December 16, 2015, 10:58:15 PM
That would be amazing, I used to play pinball a lot back in the day. Another niche I think it's not really explored is having live games, not like betting but paying a contest prize to battle others for top prizes. Just like app games but with actual real money (Bitcoin) instead of game credits to buy stupid upgrades hehe.

That would be gaming of the future where you can actually spend money playing but not in weapons and locked stuff. And you also get the chance to win a top prize if you are good in it.
2522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: December 16, 2015, 10:41:54 PM
18 pages and counting and you are still debating how Western Union should not exist. It exist because it provides a service that Bitcoin can't. Cash in a window, few questions asked, that's it. Poor, uneducated people will use that for centuries. And there are a lot of them.

Go do your math and establish a local office/exchange with Bitcoins and see how it goes after fees and price volatility.
imo the only thing western union has over bitcoin is the prevention of price volatility. thats a huge reason why people choose not to use bitcoin.

I agree that's basically the main issue but it's not a small one. A company that want to establish a competition will have to deal with that without losing money. If you can have several branches where people can go and turn cash from one window to another (and converted into Bitcoin in the process) that would be perfect. The problem is that when you open offices, pay employees, have security guards (in different countries...) guess what you have? Bitcoin Union!
2523  Economy / Gambling / Re: LuckyBTCCasino.com - Provably Fair - HTML5 Mobile games on: December 16, 2015, 10:34:38 PM
Just had the time to actually check (in depth of course) the site since I joined the campaign so I would like to share my review:

"I'm a UI graphic designer so usability and clean design is what I first notice, LBC does a fairly good job at that, it's all easy to find and I didn't have problems playing or browsing around. However the mobile version is a little dissapointing, it does the job since it's usable but there was not a lot work put into it and many elements get lost, game screenshots in particular.

As for the actual games, I would like to see more added soon, I know they will add them because this seems like a very serious and organized site. Suggestions like no account quick betting would be great additions too. In conclusion I'm very impressed so far and expect LBC to position amongst the best Bitcoin casinos out there."
2524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you trust your Bitcoins to a Bitcoin Bank with annual 10% interest rate? on: December 16, 2015, 10:23:58 PM
If it's a legit bank I don't see why not, but that figure is just fantasy really, why would they offer such high rate when you can't even get 2% in most banks with dollars?

Also I don't think Bitcoins and banks really mix as of today, they prefer to see Bitcoin as something evil, it's more like an enemy. Only startups, tech companies and entrepreneurs adopted Bitcoin so far.

2526  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: December 16, 2015, 10:15:07 PM
To me it was always a mystery why porn and casino sites didn't adopt Bitcoin and make it much more available for the users to pay with, they are a match made in heaven since you don't even require an account or need to enter details. Bitcoin has a lot of cons for mainstream adoption but these niches are still not tapped fully.
2527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NeuCoin - Easy to use, free to try, focused on micropayments - Official on: December 16, 2015, 08:47:11 PM
I can't believe this scamcoin is still going on...I'm still waiting for my bonus which I registered in many ocasions for multiple giveaways. They took all my information and never heard from them again.

I'm still here and I see DGB still have a long way down to go. My anger and denial receded a little bit so I just wanted to ask if there any news or updates before the end of the year and what's coming for the next. I know I'll be holding for a long long time now, I don't care if it hits the 20s really, I now understand these are the rules in crypto.
2529  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Interesting thought I had about Bitcoin and certain religions on: December 16, 2015, 08:39:27 PM
I don't think trading qualifies at that, more than commerce and supply and demand. Some sort of tactics and daily trading can be seen as gambling and speculation but really is like how most business and companies function in todays world, you have a chance to go bankrupt if you do some bad moves.

As for mining, there's luck involved yes and one could argue that you can invest many dollars into a miner to hit a jackpot that will never come. I think you may have a point. Buddhism doesn't prohibit anything but gambling just as taking alcohol or drugs is frowned upon because it leads to bad decisions and clouds your mind.

I feel this way that for many people it's better to stay off, for me gambling should be just having a good time and being entertained for a certain amount of time, if you win you win, just consider your bet and money gone the minute you start playing.
2530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: December 16, 2015, 06:35:38 PM
Shumpert had to leave yesterday game with a groin injury and Irving is not coming back for the Thunder game. I would still bet on Cleveland at home, the odds will even be bigger if Shumpert is unable to play I think, so depending on the odds that could be a great choice.
2531  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Bitcoin always be dependent on fiat? Is it? on: December 16, 2015, 06:07:17 PM
We are tied to fiat, as society and until then it will always be our point of comparison because that's what we earn and spend our money. We know the value of a flat screen, milk, a car, etc so we do that conversion. I think that's one of the main barriers of Bitcoin for being adopted massively, plus the decimals are rather complicated for common folks. It would be awesome for us all and very simple if 1 bit = $1 hehe...
2532  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: What year will we hit $100,000? on: December 16, 2015, 05:34:50 PM
I wish it could happen but honestly I don't think it will. But 10k is certainly possible in the next years if everything goes well. With Bitcoin one never knows though, there's of course an outside chance, after all, $450-460 seems like a lot of money if think about it from a different perspective.
2533  Economy / Speculation / Re: [pump and dump alert] Any true reason of this high price? on: December 16, 2015, 05:17:54 PM
Lots of bold claims, you can say whatever you want but with Bitcoin it all comes down to the same thing, we don't really know. Next year it can be valued at $120 or it can be $1200 because of the halving. All your points can make sense but that doesn't mean anything at the end of the day. The only thing I know for sure is that If we all invested in Bitcoin from the start we would be rich. It didn't happen but either way, Bitcoin price has been increasing year by year, so I think unless something drastic happens, we can safely say it will be above $400 in the next upcoming years at least.
2534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So...bitcoin is now a national currency on: December 16, 2015, 04:42:46 PM
This is more of a novelty news I guess but I recently created a thread about Argentina's new president relationship with Bitcoin, so this is all great news that governments of the world are taking into consideration these new technologies and acknowledging their benefits even if they are not massively adopted yet.
2535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: December 16, 2015, 04:22:02 AM
My Cavs are looking much better with Shumpert, if they beat OKC next Thursday they will get Irving back to face the Sixers and then GSW on Christmas day, that will be awesome. The game against OKC in particular on Thursday will be a safe bet with good odds for Cleveland in my opinion.
2536  Economy / Speculation / Re: SEC Approves Plan to Issue Stock Via Bitcoin’s Blockchain........MOON on: December 16, 2015, 01:49:33 AM
Hmm not so sure about "moon" but definitely very interesting read.
2537  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin go back to bellow $400? on: December 16, 2015, 01:46:04 AM
Yes I don't think there's strong support so far to say it can't go below $400, it happened some weeks ago and it can happen again. I don't think it will go below $300 anytime soon though...
2538  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina’s New President Might Just be a Bitcoin Supporter on: December 16, 2015, 01:42:02 AM
Exactly, just implementing it slowly as another method of payment and sponsored by the government would be huge for Bitcoin. On the other hand I must say the Bitcoin also has some deep roots in illegal activities so maybe it can face some resistance if the idea is fighting corruption and money laundering.
2539  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: December 15, 2015, 02:27:47 PM
Fiat won't be worthless anytime soon, Bitcoin is like a stock or a commodity right now, it won't be adopted anytime soon by the masses because of how complicated it is to use for common folks. So while it can be more easy to "trade" than let's say Google's or Apple's stocks, it's still far from being an actual currency, it's not even recognizable as that right now.
2540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina’s New President Might Just be a Bitcoin Supporter on: December 15, 2015, 02:04:36 PM
But maybe he can introduce it in public places, like paying for parking fees, tolls, etc, that sort of things, you guys are thinking too big for now hehe. The idea would be a country accepting BTC as method of payment for certain things, tolls. It won't replace the local currency or be mandatory, just an option for people to get more familiar with it considering Argentina has already a very active Bitcoin community.
