So Novak Djokovic is playing another good game against Kecmanovic. He won the first set by class,  6-0 and the 2nd set is in progress with 4-3 in favor of Djokovic.

I have a gut feeling, that he will win the title though he may not be in his best of forms like in previous years. Whom you people consider favorites ?

Novak Djokovic is the main favorite to win the title and with how he his playing i dont see anyone coming close to him at all.
Nadal is looking really bad,Alcaraz isnt so good on grass. Berrettini due to covid is out so i honestly dont see anyone beating him.
Nadal isn't that bad. He have played good against Berankis. Possibly the finals will be between Nadal and Djokovic. Most of the odds were in favour of Novak Djokovic to win Wimbledon.

I dont know if we watched the same match man. Nadal was really really bad and made so many unforced errors. If there was someone slightly better then Berankis he would have won against Nadal pretty easily. I have watched him during this tournament and he dosent look even close to the level that Djokovic is on

Yea but nobody is going to have an easy game against Nadal. Being one of the top players
he isnt there for nothing, he can 99% of the time lift his game to get the job done.

I have Norrie to reach SF at 8,50 odds - placed it before the tournament began. Looks like it will be close - it will probably be him vs Goffin for that SF spot.

I have to say that Goffin does look really good so far - and so does Alcaraz. Tommy Paul however is the biggest surprise to me so far and he's playing Norrie next.
My biggest surprise is maybe Alcaraz, really did not expect him to do well on grass, but it seems like he is better player with each passing day and now I consider him as legit contender for the title.

Match of the day, or match of the tournament so far is Kyrgios - Tsitsipas later today and my money is on crazy Smiley Just hope Kyrgios will be able to concentrate on the game and not on the some beef with the crowd or ref. Over games/sets also looks like a great bet. These 2 never finished a match in straight sets.

Yea Alcaraz is improving with every match here at Wimbledon. His confidence
and belief is high and he thrives on those.

Ah Kyrgios v Tsitsipas is a match I definitely wont be betting on but I will try and
watch it for the voyeurism of it. I pity the chair umpire for this one, both can be whiney.
I will be a spectacle anyway
2622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 01, 2022, 11:58:24 AM
My small bet for the day:

Backing Isner to do himself a favour and get another good showing, Sinner's rightly the favourite but think the American's serve is really doing him wonders... plus of course to avenge his straight set defeat last year. Over 25/10, and I parlayed that with Humbert for almost 6/1.

Well he has said before that his girlfriend now is one of the best things which has happened
for him and she is court side nearly every match. I recon they are all working on his mental side
of the tennis. I have nothing else to back this up, its just a sense I get from watching them but
yea we have to wait and see what happens from here on in, even past Wimbledon.

I have to say though, and this isn't sexist I hope, it's simply the way I think works for either (multiple) side(s) of a partnership -- if you're doing it for someone else, it's not sustainable.

But well if that's true, then all the better for everyone enjoying the game. Just that I've seen it in football myself, no one can help you out of a spiral if you don't do it for yourself (not on your own, mind you, but for yourself).

Yea I agree, the change or motivation has to start with yourself and others can help you
keep a momentum up. Those other people can be the key though especially a spouse or
intimate someone, they can be closer in a different way to a coach and can "influence" you
to change your way of thinking generally for the better

Ah we all know Kyrgios' weakness as well as his talent and we get frustrated
watching him 99% of the time but I cant believe he doesnt care and that deep down he doesnt
want to do well. I think he is on the verge of doing something great.

Why do I think that?

Well he has said before that his girlfriend now is one of the best things which has happened

When he's good he's great, when he's not he's not. If his girlfriend had changed his attitude, and he was playing at maximum Kyrgios every match, he'd be almost untouchable and one of the top favourites for the tournament.
But we only have to go back to his match in the earlier round against the unknown 200+ ranked Paul Jubb. At break-point down at 5-5 in the fifth, Kyrgios was nearly out. He won that game with a sudden flurry of three unreturnable serves, and from there won the match. But he was probably a single point away from going out there, just a couple of days ago.

Of course he may win the tournament, but equally, he may have another off-day or off-thirty-minutes at a crucial moment. The problem from a betting perspective is we just can never tell. I don't think I've ever placed a bet for or against him, he's too unpredictable.

yea well I bet against him yesterday, I had a +6.5 handicap on Krajinovic yesterday thinking
he would at least give Nick a right good game, nah, 2:6, 3:6 and 1:6. So yea way too unpredictible
from Nick.

Even though MrMojoRising26 isn't asking for it, I would encourage everyone that has some merit to spare to merit these type of free raffles, depending on if you have any and how many you feel are appropriate to spare.  It is encouraging when this happens as it shows appreciation and doesn't really cost entrants a thing- possibly shipping?  Additionally, it may encourage others to do something similar as this sort of positivity tends to spread like a wild fire.  I only mention this due to my own ignorance initially (self enlightened since) and believe it may be a proper thing to do.  You may not agree with me and that is fine and you can PM me to further discuss as to not hijack this thread.  Also, you could also wait until after winner receives the good(s) to post merit to ensure no scam if there is/are a concern(s).

Agree 100!

However I have no clue how this backwoods forum allocates sendable merit.  I sent some to Mojo because he’s badass & others expecting more to send to other members doing raffles & collectible guides but it’s been weeks since I’ve had any sendable merit.

When do I get more so I can send to Mojo & others ?

2624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 01, 2022, 06:31:03 AM
Kyrgios was absolutely flying today. I don't remember seeing somebody returning like this on grass for a very long time. He was untouchable on serve and very clinical throughout the match. Now if he was just stable enough to continue with performances like today I would have my new favorite to bet on. But him being Kyrgios after all, I am afraid he will just turn mentally and gift someone a pass in one of next rounds.

Whatever he does, he'll never be my favorite while betting. He's just too unpredictable and his talent doesn't really mean a thing when he just switches off and decides not to play anymore.

I quite dislike him as a character as well but I will root for him against Tsitsipas - I made a bet that Tsitsipas is going out in the 3rd round at the beginning of the tournament.

Krygios' performance can differ a lot from day to day. He is a little unreliable player about this topic. However the morale of this kind of players must have increased to upper level absolutely as some of the favourites have said goodbye to the tournament already now. But I don't think of making any bet on this tournament. Whoever I bet on has said goodbye to the tournament in first round.

Ah we all know Kyrgios' weakness as well as his talent and we get frustrated
watching him 99% of the time but I cant believe he doesnt care and that deep down he doesnt

I received my note from the original auction today and I have to say the
item is really nice, really nice to see all the features described in the OP,
The addition of the individualised hand stamping marks gives a unique touch.

Hopefully ArtiKando produces a second series of notes, it is such a skill to
use a BIC Biro to create these bearing in mind this is a print
there is no room for error unless you start again from scratch.

Here is a montage of my note.

OMG, I saw the score with 10 minutes to go and couldnt believe it, I recon if Storm had
started their amazing finish 5 minutes earlier they might have pulled off a win. Look at
the action from Storm with 5 minutes to go....

Sounds like that was one crazy game, Manly scoring 5 tries in a in the first half,
and Storm scoring 4 in the last 5 minutes, anyway thats a loss for us.

Affairs "down under" are not going well for the Irish team, they played the Moari All Blacks
today and got trounced 32-17. I'm not sure how we are going to do against the All Blacks
on Saturday, we had a few injuries today which doesnt bode well for whats coming.

Rugby League

I have the following bets on for this coming round 16

Melbourne Storm to beat Manly Sea Eagles tomorrow @ 1.32

Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks to beatCanterbury-Bankstown Bulldgs @ 1.33

North Queensland Cowboys to beat the Brisbane Broncos @ 1.45

2630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MicroStrategy Acquires Additional 480 Bitcoins on: June 29, 2022, 06:14:19 PM
Is there a link to this news about buying of 480 bitcoins by MicroStrategy?

They always tweet it and they have done this time: https://twitter.com/saylor/status/1542117682207678465?s=20

There was speculation on here before that a dump normally happens after microstrategy buys (though they might've bought a dump themselves this time).

There was also talk here about the trouble Microstrategy were going to find themselves
in because of this dip we are in now, theres the answer, trouble averted!

I recon we can be fairly certain Michael bought himself also! Like him or Loathe him,
he definitely puts his money where his mouth is!

I wouldn't load it myself. No clue how no hologram would or if it would even affect grading, as I have a LOT of notes with no holograms...

Another example, kinda off-topic but not really I guess...

Anybody seen these before and if so, which one is the rare one? Grin

I had a look also on the Polymerbit Reference Thread here on the forum created

And, last but not least, I've no problem to find a long-term member to be an escrow for the trade.

However, keep in mind that the escrow fee is not included in the price Smiley

for you OP, escrow is more than mandatory. you don’t want to go out with the extra possible delivery costs.
I certainly believe you are both aware that for escrow you need to find some established and reliable member, it can't be a newbie member for sure.

good luck with your business.

Agreed.

There is a very informative thread in the Collectibles board titled HOW TO BUY AND SELL HERE

2633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "I'll wait for the dip!" - The Crypto Noob Cycle on: June 29, 2022, 06:29:50 AM
What they said, what they hoped and what they response to when chance comes are differently.

So they hope to see lower price again when Bitcoin is in bull run. When bear market comes and gives them discount price, they are fearful that Bitcoin will fall to zero or to much lower price. They reject to take opportunity and when next bull run comes, they hope again. Then if dips come, bear market comes again, they will reject it again.  Undecided

Yes, its fear of the unknown and no knowledge of how the cycles go. The majority need
confirmation that the market is doing what everyone else is saying, thats why at $60k
after weeks of upward movement it looks like its going to $100k (but it doesnt) Likewise
at $20k after weeks of downward movement it looks like its going to $1k (but it doesnt)

So a lot of people end up buying and selling at the opposite ends of the market!
2634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 29, 2022, 05:41:25 AM
Serena just started her match and i hope she is just rusty. At the moment her level of play is not enough to win even a couple of games against opponent like Harmony Tan. If she does not have a higher gear anymore this will be one sad final match.

it is quite possible that she only needs to put some games behind her to get the feel back. Too bad I can't watch this one live, seems like there will be some great opportunities for live betting.

And well, Serena lost the match against Harmony Tan, 7-5, 1-6, 7-6 (10-7). I thought at least she will not exit this early, but I guess he is rusty and doesn't have the body to compete anymore.

She has a good change in the 3rd though as she broke Tan for a 5-4 lead, but then again, Harmony comes back to tie the score at 5-5. And then she lead 4-0 in the tie break, but Tan has some still in her bag with those winners.

Yea I watched the second and third sets only because herself was watching. I had
a +5.5 on Tan from earlier yesterday and didnt have anything in my wallet to bet
live. IDK but Serena's "comebacks" have been way over hyped for the last few years
IMO. There is no chance she can win another GS, there are far too many capable challengers
now.

Tan did really well, what got her the win was her mental ability to stay in the game and
believe in herself. Serena though still had some brilliant winners, she can still hit them
from anywhere on the court. IDK I think Serena looked far too emotional in the last set, she
wasnt able to conceal it really but she wasnt happy that it was taking so long and the fact
that it was so close and her dream was hanging in the balance at various stages towards the end.
2635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can fight inflation? on: June 28, 2022, 08:47:12 PM
~snip~
Doing the math Bitcoin could still multiply 28 times from current price just to match Gold's market cap. Not bad at all if you ask me.
$20k x 28 = $560,000
As you said Lucius, 50 times is a little bit out of the range, but anything can happened with this inflation.

I wouldn't even say that the problem is that Bitcoin can't reach some value measured in fiat, but due to its speculative-volatile nature it will always be a problem how to keep that value - which leads us to the problems with trust that people have in Bitcoin long term. People are usually unable to bear to have their investment lose more than 50% in a matter of few months, or in less than 48 hours if we remember what happened in March 2020.

That will always be a problem with Bitcoins volatility especially with the +50%
drops. Newcomers dont necessarily realise not to sell low, although I really believe that
people dont realise that. Of course for seasoned Bitcoiners its not an issue,
just opportunity.

From personal experience, more and more people are looking for some new coins that will bring them x50 or x100 or even higher profits because they perceive Bitcoin as something that is no longer so profitable. Although gold and Bitcoin have some common features, they are still two different worlds and therefore I think that gold will remain a far more accepted asset than Bitcoin for a very long time. Not only because gold is better (although it also has its drawbacks), but for the average person it is far more understandable than Bitcoin and has many more applications if we consider only jewelry making and application in electronics making.

Yes, raw proof is the DOGE craze we saw not so long ago and the traction it got. Total
newbies got sucked in and probably got spat out too.

Gold for sure is still far more accepted purely because it is  far more stable. I wonder if many
"traditional" investors holding Bitcoin liquidated into Gold?

Breaking News!

Berrettini is out of Wimbledon after testing positive for Covid.
He was 8th seed, but obviously a lot of people had him down as a potential winner. With both him and Hurk out, the men's draw is already starting to open up a bit.
I'm sure he'll be really disappointed, as he had a genuine chance of winning the thing. On the plus side though, it won't make any difference to his ranking points - everyone gets a 0 this year!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/61966938

I have Just read this news and I am pretty shocked too.
I mean he was in a strong condition, and last year (Just last year) he was playing the final !
As a gambler I have a question...
In this case (player suspended due Covid19) bettings for the winner Will be reimbursed ?

I would say so! the match didnt take place

Wow, thats a shocker, I'd say he is absolutely gutted after fighting to get back fit and playing
and possibly targeting Wimbledon as a possible win.

@buwaytress - your bet is safe now anyway !

With Berrettini out that leaves a bit of a void for Nadal to fill, that side of the draw favours
Nadal even more now
2637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can fight inflation? on: June 28, 2022, 11:39:10 AM
The article in your post is garbage(no offense to you ofc). It tries to convince us that Bitcoin is a good investment to mitigate inflation, but it doesn't talk about its volatility even once.

It's trying to say that Bitcoin is a good investment because it's immune to inflation, but in the same breath, it admits that Bitcoin's prices swing up and down based on people's opinions  Huh.
So if you're thinking about investing in it to save yourself from "inflation", you'd better be prepared to ride the roller coaster lol

The simple fact that FIAT is devaluing, our FIAT is no longer able to buy the same goods
it was able to 12+ months ago should be enough for people to look elsewhere and protecting
their savings/wealth.

Michael Saylor started talking about this about 18months ago referring to the "block of ice"
melting in front of your eyes.

If you can look past Bitcoins market movements and consider it long term, its the best
safe haven for wealth/savings preservation.

Unfortunately too many focus on what Bitcoin is doing NOW.
2638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 28, 2022, 06:10:15 AM
Wasn't expecting Bencic to lose in the first round to Wang. I was just looking at her career stats and other than the Olympic Gold(which is a big achievement and everyones dream) she has a pretty poor showing in most slams. Just 1 Semis appearance at the US Open and she has never gone past the 4th round at any other slam. Surprising to say the least and now, she's out of Wimby in the 1st round with Wang up a set and 5-2 in the 2nd. Serving for the match.

Ah we have seen this many times at Wimbledon and other grand slams, players tipped
to do well getting dumped out in the first set.

Hurkacz was tipped to go far too as the posts above lots of tickets got liquidated.

Also on the Womens side Haddad Maia who has 3 titles on grass in the last few weeks
got beaten too. A few of us had her backed and I even did an in play bet @2.45 on her after
she lost the first set.

Other players looked less convincing, Alcaraz took 5 sets to win, Djokovic got broken
numerous times and lost a set to Kwon before winning.

So yea there will always be upsets.....unfortunately

Interesting to see what 1BTC can buy ATM around the world...

Here in Ireland it could get me:

A car: MERCEDES-BENZ C63 AMG EESTATE 510 BHP

A house: [Project] on 0.62acres with outbuildings in the countryside

Damn, My images are gone from my first post in this thread. Anyway what I can buy
now in my country as a direct comparison to about 8 months ago has changed dramatically!

I can still buy my Merc but not the same one...

I cant even buy a ruin like I could back in October, I can just get a 0.5 acre site to build a
house on in a few years time...
