I think gmail is the most popular online free mail service in existence right? I don’t see them shutting that down for any reason. Especially when you consider that they’re farming your emails to get advertising suggestions in order to market items to you for their own profit. I would imagine Gmail for Google is a significant revenue generator as a result.
2742  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukraine in freefall. on: July 19, 2023, 04:14:36 PM
It does seem like Russia has stepped up efforts in Ukraine lately. The sheer amount of firepower being used can’t be matched even with the help of Western allies. Sure, we can bomb the hell out of them or provide fancy tech and weapons systems, but we can’t match their small arms ammunition stockpiles or manufacturing capabilities.
2743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first experience with gambling? on: July 19, 2023, 04:12:51 PM
My earlier experiences with gambling were great. It was always fun gambling with friends whether over card games, sporting events, or direct betting against each other with trick shots or competitive gaming. It wasn’t until I got old enough to start gambling in Indian casinos where I started having questionable experiences that led me to distrust physical casinos.
2744  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is ready for $40k on: July 19, 2023, 04:10:59 PM
I expected to see a pullback, but I am a little surprised that it’s happened while the stock market is rallying so hard. Tech stocks seem to have been given the all clear to get back into rally mode. The NASDAQ is going crazy and yet Bitcoin is down slightly while investors are fleeing Coinbase stock. It’s like they know something we don’t.

if BRICS established a gold backed currency where you have to trust some country on holding the actual gold reserves in vaults, putting the Dollar on a more transparent Bitcoin standard would be an adequate response to keep the dominance as the world currency.

That dominance, I am afraid, is being eroded every day. I don't think a hard (or semi-hard) currency is going to happen in the US any time soon.

The world is getting to be very globalist and the clear goal is to remove the United States’ currency advantage. There’s nothing that can be done to stop it. The American way of life will continue to erode until the world is on a more level playing field. The loss of reserve currency status, sterilization of youth, & encouragement of mental illness will all play significant roles in destroying the American economy in order to accelerate the globalist agenda.
2746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: July 18, 2023, 08:55:46 PM
Speaking completely honestly, if you’re trying to make an ongoing income in the gambling space then you need to do it as the house. Given the nature of math and odds, the casino always wins in the end. That’s just how it works. So if you want to win in the end instead of short term luck, you’ll need to do it with the odds in your favor.
2747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP - yes or no? on: July 18, 2023, 08:54:04 PM
Ripple to me is the most evil cryptocurrency, if you can even call it that. The entire way they’ve gone about doing everything has been scammy from the beginning. I’m actually amazed that they’re still around. It’s a testament to how much BTC they were able to get early on and a devotion to market manipulation. Ripple shouldn’t exist.
2748  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Rape and Paternity fraud. on: July 18, 2023, 08:51:45 PM
I think sometimes women make bad decisions that they regret and instead of taking personal responsibility, they find it easy to blame the man of rape. Certainly this isn’t the norm, but I can see it as a possible explanation in some cases. There’s also rejection when women seek to further the relationship or more nefarious reasons like extortion, but I’d like to believe a majority of rape accusations are true.

With tech stocks heating up again it seems inevitable for fresh money to start pouring into crypto markets. We’ve definitely got a choppy market on the way with the ETF approvals and mtgox coins fighting over which way the market will go. It’s all just near term smoke screen though. The halving is what will dominate the conversation next year.
2750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrency comes close to bitcoin? on: July 18, 2023, 06:25:30 PM
I see people saying that nothing else comes close to Bitcoin and I don’t really believe that is true. I believe there are many superior coins out there that do a better job than Bitcoin. However, what makes Bitcoin special is the original distribution being more fair than anything else ever can be, as well as the mining network securing it being extremely powerful.

If you were looking for the closest thing to Bitcoin though, I would point to Namecoin.
2751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 18, 2023, 03:19:11 PM
With James harden trying to force his way out of Philly to the clippers, Ben Simmons shipped out & Markelle Fultz being a flop, it seemed like Philly was resting its hopes on Joel Embiid. Well, now Embiid is saying he doesn’t care what team he plays for, he just wants a championship. It looks like ‘Trust the Process’ may officially be a failure soon.
2752  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 17, 2023, 08:37:19 AM
sideways for three weeks now... do we rip up or down is the question

We break out soon 🔜 very soon 🔜.

33k by the end of july seems likely.

I’m not so sure it’ll be that soon. Looking over the chart and order data it looks like we may see one more pullback before launching upward to the $40K mark. Who knows what will happen, but I’m not so bullish for the remainder of this month, but feel pretty bullish about Q4 of this year and Q1 of next year. Just a precursor to the real run in 2025 though.
2753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 16, 2023, 08:26:38 PM
The Suns are absolutely dominating free agency already.  With their trade exceptions it looks like they may be able to sign 2 more decent veterans before the season starts.  Some names are being tossed around but I'd personally like to see them grab Dwight Howard (I honestly believe the guy was blackballed from the NBA for his locker room antics and not his skills).  If they do manage to grab 2 big names and toss them on the bench as role players, I think they're going to be difficult to beat.  The west is looking pretty stacked again this year.  At the moment it looks like it's going to come down to the Suns and Nuggets to see who gets to play to win it all...
2754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 16, 2023, 07:10:44 PM
Big contract for Jaylen Brown.

I read that Jaylen Brown could sign a maximum contract of $304 million with the Boston Celtics.
If this is true, the last year of the contract will be $ 70 million.

That's huge for Brown, him and Tatum has been the face of Boston Celtics for years. And now that Marcus Smart is gone, he could be very influential to the team right now. Hopefully, Boston will blossom and reach the finals again or even win.

Again, him and Tatum are blending well in the last couple of years and they should be around their prime years right now.

So it's good to see that he has been rewarded by the Celtics management.
I saw that 70 million in a close future will be norm, not a huge deal for a year. I saw news and it was even mentioned in this topic here. With the new TV rights and everything. NBA is another world. The whole capacity for business and economics are indeed something else. That being said, I don't think Jaylen Brown deserves it 100%. He is a great player but I'd question if he is this much good. He shouldn't be the first player to make 70m a year. I agree that Celtics management rewarded him but still it is a huge deal. He is not like a franchise player and I don't think he would bring championships. Let's see if the deal will be finalized, seems likely to happen.

Honestly, with how many games they play and the possibility of injury I always thought it was odd that baseball and soccer players made more. The NBA seems like it’s playing catch-up and with the rising popularity I would’ve be surprised if the next big superstar gets 100 million a year after their rookie contract. It’s income on a level I have difficulty comprehending.
2755  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is ready for $40k on: July 16, 2023, 07:08:27 PM
I agree that Bitcoin looks like it’s preparing for a move straight up to $40K. I believe it will mirror the price action from 13-14 months ago and rise up just like it fell then. This is due to long term resistance being built up as the attempt to rally back to $40K after the drop failed. Get ready. You do not want to be selling this rally and if it dips here it should be viewed as a buying opportunity.
2756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Former Celsius CEO Alex Mashinsky reportedly arrested on: July 16, 2023, 06:22:12 PM
I was pretty surprised that he was traveling around and appearing at conferences as if nothing happened. Rubbing shoulders with people he had stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars from. Even more surprising is that nobody tried to take his head off. I don’t think I would be able to show that restraint. I’m the end he is where he deserves to be for his fraud and theft.
2757  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - The road to a SIX DIGIT price valuation on: July 16, 2023, 06:19:32 PM
I’m also one of the guys that thinks an ETF will be necessary to get Bitcoin to the next level price wise. I believe it will be extremely similar to what happened to gold. The argument that BTC is easy for people to buy excludes the big money from funds that need an ETF in order to invest. The days of retail investors mattering for Bitcoin are numbered.
2758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 16, 2023, 04:51:26 PM
Looks like the Phoenix Suns have addressed they’re not having a backup center by signing Bol Bol to a one year deal. This means they probably won’t be going after JaVale McGee in the free agent market. It also means that DeAndre Ayton had better not get too comfortable on this roster. I am excited that the Suns got Bol Bol though. He’s like a more developed version of Wemby.
2759  Economy / Speculation / Re: $31450 proves too strong for Buyers, but Sellers may only dominate below $29400 on: July 16, 2023, 07:23:41 AM
^ It is meeting resistance at the expected point if you look back at the chart about 13-14 months ago. This somewhat long term resistance point is being eaten away though and once it does, very similarly to how 14 months ago it plummeted from $40K to $30K, we will see the opposite. A quick rise from $30K to $40K.
2760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 16, 2023, 07:20:52 AM
What age were most of you really when you started gambling though? I want to say I started playing cards for money around 12-13, and by 16 I was betting decent amounts of money with my friends. By 18 I was betting in casinos, but never as much as when I was gambling with friends. Since then my gambling interest has pretty much declined until now.
