1741  Economy / Speculation / Re: Recent market manipulation shows the enormous potential to reach the moon! on: October 16, 2023, 03:48:43 PM
If we’re already seeing upward pressure from ETFs (more likely it’s just buying the rumor at the moment) then when the announcement is made and funds start really buying we could see some massive spikes. I think it’s likely that will be the story for the next year. I look forward to waking up to big price jumps again. Smiley
1742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Low cost but effective solutions to gambling addiction on: October 16, 2023, 03:47:10 PM
I’ve always thought if you want to quit something just do it cold turkey. All these programs that try to talk you into beating your addiction by holding your hand seems to me like a good support system to set you up for failure. Just be a man and if you’re doing something wrong just knock it off. It’s that simple. No need to make it out to be something bigger.
1743  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Constant cases of war and the end of the world story. on: October 16, 2023, 03:45:17 PM
I’m afraid at just how easy it has become to profit from war. Now all it takes is placing some option buys on military stocks and then launch an attack on someone. With the ease of this process I fear that more and more desperate scenarios will lead to more folks trying insane things like this. Sometimes I worry a bit about the future…
1744  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 16, 2023, 03:43:23 PM
These spikes are just noise/outliers... They need to be both long and wide to count.

$40k+ dominating a 5-min chart, then we're talking pump.

Okay, maybe even $35k+...

Maybe they aren’t going to send us to $100K yet, but these are some fairly large pumps that show somebody is buying bigtime right now and with a lot of funds. It isn’t easy to send the market into massive spikes like that and whoever is doing it likely believes the price will be headed much higher so they’re indiscriminately buying all they can.
1745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: October 16, 2023, 03:41:45 PM
I don’t think most people gamble because they don’t have sufficient funds. Quite the opposite actually. I think people gamble when they have funds burning a hole in their pocket and they’re looking for a little quick entertainment. Sure, there are plenty of people who gamble hoping to get rich, but they are usually the ones lacking funds.
1746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about trading feature? on: October 16, 2023, 03:40:27 PM
Gambling sites like Bc.game and Rollbit now include trading feature in their casinos. In this game we need to predict small fluctuations in price over a short period of time.
This is became my favorite game. What do you think of this game?
Do you think this game gives us some advantage/edge to casino? Because most of the time, prices tend to Follow a repeating pattern like Up-Down Up-Down in a range.

I haven’t seen this game but it doesn’t sound too much different from trading the BTC price only maybe made a little easier with a fun interface. I can see how traders could get addicted to a game like this. Seems like once enough bets go one way then the game would cause them all to lose, so I think I’d rather stick to trading without a middleman.
1747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Logan Paul Vs Dillon Dannis and KSI vs Tommy Fury Today! Oct 14th on: October 16, 2023, 03:38:35 PM
The craziest part about this fight is that even after Dillon Danis looked terrible out there and got beat, even though he’s being sued and will probably go bankrupt, even though he should be embarrassed by his performance and how he handled himself, not to mention all the broken promises… He’s still out talking shit… Some people…
1748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Drake's Curse. on: October 16, 2023, 08:15:15 AM
Now, the big question is this.... Is Drake being funded by Stake.com to make these huge bets, because he is an affiliate and a brand ambassador for Stake.com.  Huh

The same thing apply to his occasional gambling streams, where he gives away tons of money. It is one thing using your own money, but paid streamers are playing with casino money.

Will we ever know what happens behind closed doors.... right.  Tongue

I’m sure Drake is compensated by Stake. I don’t think that is really a question. Drake probably just bets the money they pay him. Even if he loses he gets a decent rake and I’m guessing he gets a % of users that sign up clicking his name or during certain periods when he’s got Stake in the news. I feel like when it comes to Drake the real money for him would be in the referrals.
1749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 16, 2023, 08:12:34 AM
[....]
but for the moment you can't expect them to get more like 30 wins this season. Maybe they can surprise us but realistically they are not fight for any playoff or even playin spot.
That's an interesting take. I may bet against that if Wemby doesn't get any injury in the preseason and if odds move according to your expectation. Current line is @1.90 for both under/over 29.50 regular season wins. It doesn't look that tempting to me at the moment.

There are also lines for his PPG and RPG if you're interested
- PPG under/over 17.0 are both @1.90
- RPG under 8.60 @1.86 while over 8.60 @1.96

Wemby has surprised me a bit with his play thus far. He has looked prettt good and hasn’t gotten bullied as much as I thought he would. The regular season will tell the tale though. It’s quite possible the Spurs remain a terrible team with a bad record, but I wouldn’t be confident enough in that opinion to bet on it.
1750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Give Bitcoin investment time on: October 16, 2023, 08:10:03 AM
They say that Bitcoin is a world changing technology dressed up as a get rich quick scheme. I personally like the saying that the revolution is monetized. One thing that has always proven to be true is that Bitcoin rewards those with the longest time preference. With the nature of Bitcoin, I think that could very well always be true.
1751  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull Run on: October 16, 2023, 08:07:18 AM
I think the knowledge that matters the most when it comes to investment in Bitcoin is the fact that Bitcoin will always recover and that it is not for short term investments. Of course this should go along with the knowledge about Bitcoin itself, I mean the technology. If an investor has all this, I guess he is good to go. These knowledge is sufficient enough to keep him going and stacking satoshis despite bear markets and long months of waiting for better days.

It’s dangerous to think that it will always recover. That’s one of the largest dangers that could cause it to not recover in my opinion. Bitcoin is certainly a risk on asset and I’d hate to see anyone get too comfortable with it. Things like ETFs will certainly do a lot to alleviate fears among individuals not wanting to be responsible for their own coins though, which is a significant amount.
1752  Other / Politics & Society / Re: To american people : do you appreciate "Israël" to steal your money ? on: October 16, 2023, 06:38:52 AM
Israel doesn’t steal our money. We happily defend Israel because there are those who want to wipe them off the map. I think a lot of military folks think of Israel as a proxy between the US and Middle East. If Israel were to collapse or be destroyed, then next target would certain be the United States of America.
1753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to get paid in BTC if you are a weed-shop owner? on: October 16, 2023, 06:36:21 AM
The best way would be to handle it all yourself without any intermediaries. You could setup a BTC Pay server and then you could just accept BTC and store it safely yourself without any outside concerns. If you wanted to be able to exchange it immediately for USD you could use a service like Coinbase that can handle that for you.
1754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Drake's Curse. on: October 16, 2023, 05:05:09 AM
It is funny that Drake always seems to lose his bets. He is a man in that he doesn’t take the easy bets at least. The safe play would have been Logan Paul to win but he went with the knockout as to make it a worth while payday for himself. I’m sure he’ll win one eventually. Probably free money from the advertiser anyway. Smiley
1755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Logan Paul Vs Dillon Dannis and KSI vs Tommy Fury Today! Oct 14th on: October 16, 2023, 05:02:37 AM
It looked like there was a conspiracy surrounding the scorecard and KSI should have won? It seems like whether or not that is true he certainly got robbed of a victory. Tommy Fury staying undefeated is probably a good thing for boxing and this is a better storying line a KSI vs Jake Paul fight that you know is coming down the line.
1756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Robert Kennedy Jr. Promises to End White House War on Bitcoin on: October 15, 2023, 08:58:17 PM
He is almost certain to lose. Unless Biden or trump drops out at the last minute.

Sadly this is true. Unless he has some very well hidden overly strong backing, he has not much of a chance.

Would be nice to see him shake up economy by actively pushing crypto.

It would be nice, but I think that the number of Americans who would actually vote for him because of his stance on crypto is not that significant.
Plus, as it was said before, he seems to be oblivious to the fact that he will not be able to push his agenda by himself.

While he is almost certain to lose, there is still the real possibility that he could get enough votes to sway the election, which is always a concern when there’s a popular independent candidate. I would think this is a bigger risk for Trump, as he seems to have a widespread in polls as voters begin to consider the reality of letting our country continue down it’s current path.
1757  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hal Finney: each coin a value of about $10 million prophecy on: October 15, 2023, 04:43:24 PM
It’s fun to think about all the things you would do if Bitcoin suddenly jumped to $10,000,000 overnight. However, that’s not how it happens. It will be a slow grind upward for years and very few if anyone holding now would still be sitting on BTC at the end of the ride. Most people here have already sold off mass amounts of BTC at significantly lower prices.
1758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoin censorship on: October 15, 2023, 04:41:12 PM
I really don’t understand why someone would hold a stablecoin instead of cash. It’s like you get additional regulatory risk on top of the typical crypto risk while also eliminating the ease of spending that USD has and the big topper is that you won’t ever get any appreciation like with other crypto. It’s the worst of all worlds.
1759  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin base case target on 2030 is $682,800 according to Ark Invest on: October 15, 2023, 03:50:25 PM
All the fund managers and their high flying price predictions. Sure, it would be great for them if Bitcoin saw such massive price increases and I think part of the reason they make these statements is to try and get other fund managers to join them and help fulfill the prophecy. Will they be successful? We will find out in the near future.
1760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Logan Paul Vs Dillon Dannis and KSI vs Tommy Fury Today! Oct 14th on: October 15, 2023, 07:24:45 AM
I think things turned out exactly as I expected that they would. I was a little surprised to see that Dillon Danis actually showed up to the fight, but it was pretty clear to everyone that he wasn’t going to win. KSI also isn’t as good as Jake Paul, so that was always going to be a Tommy Fury victory as well. Overall ugly night for boxing.
