1761  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: October 12, 2023, 03:37:07 AM
Football is great and all, but why can we only bet on the game when it’s clear that all people really care about is how many time the camera is going to show Taylor Swift, how many times the commentators are going to mention Taylor Swift, and when Taylor Swift will be leaving the game? I mean, Taylor Swift…
1762  Economy / Collectibles / Re: NGC formally announces 250 Brass Cass Coins being Auctioned w/ Heritage Soon on: October 11, 2023, 08:38:00 PM
These coins will probably be a great way for folks who don’t want to deal with software or trusting exchanges but want to get their hands on some Bitcoin to hold. I imagine during the next bull run these could get peeled and still have massive profits. For anyone with some USD saved that has wanted a Casascius coin but didn’t want to trust members of this community, this is the best opportunity you will probably ever get. As for OTOH, I suspect at some point you get enough wealth that owning things like this is more of a pain in the ass than anything else.
1763  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 11, 2023, 05:39:19 PM
Looks like we are seeing a plunge in price. A bit delayed in my opinion but I guess people were unsure how to react to the latest war situation. Looking at the charts it does seem like there should be one more massive drop before the rocket launches to the moon, so if I were a trader I’d be watching for a big buying opportunity and getting ready to go all in.
1764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 11, 2023, 05:37:20 PM
I don’t know who at ESPN is doing their NBA rankings and predictions but I wish I could bet against them. After the horrible take on the Bucks upcoming season, they’re now saying that Zion Williamson is the 57th best player in the NBA. I could maybe see calling him the 20th, but 57th? If he plays in even 50 games this year he’ll likely be an MVP candidate…

Well I mean what do you expect.  I'm sure it's no surprise to you that ESPN has been going down hill for decades now.  Remember when SportsCenter used to be this great show we all look forward to that actually just gave out sports news?  Now we have to listen to clowns like Kendrick Perkins and Stephan A Smith babble about utter nonsense.

Honestly I stopped watching ESPN years ago, I can't take them seriously.

That’s fair. I remember as a teenager I probably watched sportscenter 2 or 3 times a day. Now I honestly couldn’t tell you the last time I saw it. I do still respect their posts on social media, but you’re right that ESPN has been following the same go broke trend as the rest of Disney’s properties. I just watch YouTube game highlight recaps now.
1765  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig "Faketoshi" Wright saga continues. His team turns against him. on: October 10, 2023, 07:26:58 PM
Gavin made a mistake. He has come out several times in the years since that mistake and stated that he does NOT believe Craig Wright is satoshi but for some reason people just keep pointing out his mistake and making  him out to be a villain for it. It’s really weird to watch. Without Gavin, Bitcoin wouldn’t have been as successful as early on as it was. He’s a legend and should really be acknowledged as such.
1766  Economy / Economics / Re: Can stablecoins be able to prevent de-dollarization? on: October 10, 2023, 07:10:57 PM
In my opinion, stable coins are different from cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin or altcoins, an unchanging value is of course different from the concept of decentralization which is always fluctuating, and the issue of stable coins whether based on real money is of course something that worries us because it will make people blame cryptocurrencies if problems occur .
All stablecoins have the same task - to minimize the risks associated with the volatility of cryptocurrencies.
The cryptocurrency world, which has been predicted to collapse so many times, is growing and developing.
Stablecoins are an attempt to find a compromise between the traditional financial system and the cryptocurrency market, without opposing them, with the goal of their harmonious merger.  And it's a pretty good try.

If you think about it, stablecoins are basically just private entities printing dollars. This is why I don’t think the government will allow them to continue much longer. The only end results I see for stablecoins is either they lose their peg and crash or they get shut down by regulators. There is no scenario they continue on in harmony long term.
1767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: KSI v Tommy Fury / Logan Paul V Dillon Danis Misfits Boxing 14th Oct on: October 10, 2023, 07:06:54 PM
I think we might see a Tommy Fury win over KSI and a Logan Paul win over Dillon Danis. Might have to bet the parlay on that one. I think if Tommy Fury held up to Jake Paul then he’ll beat KSI. I also don’t think Dillon Danis can box and if he shows up (which I sort of don’t think he’ll complete the fight without being disqualified somehow) I think Logan will end up winning by decision.
1768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone encountered any dog race betting here? on: October 10, 2023, 07:03:46 PM
I became curious for sometime now about dog racing as I have not seen it here or  anything relates to it here or if I am wrong you can correct me and direct me to the thread or casino that offers such betting option for gamblers.  I first saw this game in a movie where dog race was the major character or action of the movie and since then I picked interest in it but I barely see live games for it and casino i think do not have such option and if they do, they should indicate here so I can visit their casino for games. I think this aspect of gaming is overlooked and possibly an asset to casino if they give it a try.

I think it was discussed before, but not sure if it get traction here or if it is listed on some crypto based casinos. Not sure though if this is going to be an asset because it is not well known sports. And I guess just like cockfighting, there could be some groups that are going to protest as they could used the animal cruelty and it might not look good for the casinos.

Maybe locally, in some countries this is legal, but in US, I know that majority states considered it illegal already. And with that, I don't see crypto base casinos going to include it as much as they like because of the potential backlash.

I actually thought dog racing was more legal than horse racing so I’m surprised it isn’t common with online betting. My guess is because it is just not as popular a sport so the participants are virtually unknown. In my area there are large dog betting tracks and growing up you’d always see events at fairs and things.
1769  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to sell? on: October 10, 2023, 06:27:56 PM
Given how things are shaping up, it seems like there are two possible futures for Bitcoin in 2023-2025. Either the world enters a bad recession and everyone is selling assets like 2008 causing Bitcoin to enter a downward feedback loop with miners going bankrupt and the price collapsing at unseen rates, or we continue to see what we’ve always seen, the price rises significantly over the next 24 months, and Bitcoin continues it’s growth story. I personally think the odds are better we’ve got one last pump on the way.
1770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 10, 2023, 06:24:46 PM
^ Everyone knows that Conor McGregor was juicing like a madman. Im sure whenever his movie comes out he will look like a monster. Thats why the fight isn’t happening anytime soon. He just announced he’s entering the testing pool, so he probably just got off the juice. He’ll shrink before the fight most certainly, but he’s still a beast.

1772  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gaza Strip People - 2 Millions - No Food, Water, Electricity - Complete Blockade on: October 10, 2023, 04:25:38 PM
Watching the video of Israeli soldiers shutting off water to the Gaza Strip was heartbreaking. Knowing that so many innocent people are going to be without water and dying of thirst as a result of this conflict is terrible. I don’t know what Hamas was thinking or what their plan is going forward, but I know there will be no winners.
1773  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 10, 2023, 04:23:22 PM
The stock market is rallying and Bitcoin is seeing a slow slide downward. I’ll admit, this is not the movement I was hoping for. It does feel like markets are returning to normal again though. Cheering wars and bad economic news in the hopes the printing press is about to be fired up while rates get slashed. The world is addicted to easy money.
1774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodling vs trading on: October 10, 2023, 04:20:21 PM
Obviously holders have a long time preference and traders are trying to get rich quick. The crazy thing is that even knowing Bitcoin is the greatest performing asset in human history, people still want to trade it instead of holding it. Even with all the billionaires holding has created and all the people who lost everything trading, people still think they’re going to trade themselves to wealth, missing out on doing so by not holding.
1775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 10, 2023, 04:18:29 PM
That Chet and Victor showdown. Honestly, it's like that I've just watched two thin tall guys which is the actuality of it. Well, they're still young and there will be more muscle build up in the coming months for sure. I don't care about the result of their match as that was just a preseason game.
While Victor was able to play just after being draft, Chet took a year for him to start playing because he got injured last season even before the start of it.

That highlight of Victor flexing on Chet went viral on the internet last night. It even got a Twitter response from Chet who called Victor’s unstoppable move the head butt. His post had something like 50,000+ likes last time I saw it and I think he was right on. The league looks ready to give Victor the superstar treatment and let him get away with fouls.
1776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 10, 2023, 09:25:30 AM
My takeaway after watching a recap of the Lakers vs Nets matchup was that Ben Simmons looked really good. He was even attacking the basket. A completely different player from last year. We’ll see how his season goes… Anthony Davis also looked great on both ends. LeBron is still LeBron and Austin Reeves is going to be getting a lot of shots this year…
1777  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 09, 2023, 09:00:30 PM
Somewhat interesting that Bitcoin didn’t move much today even with the stock market seeing a rally on war news.
1778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 09, 2023, 04:06:41 PM
McGregor fighting in April once he gets all the drugs out of his system. Finally. Will be interesting to see how this fight goes. I’m expecting it to not be a typical fight. It’s been so long, it is either going to go really well or really bad for Conor.

The Warriors went and played a team in prison… Cool idea. Hats off to them for doing it. The best part… They lost.

I haven't seen the odds of this over 48.5 wins. But if this is 1.80 or above then I am taking this risk.

Hey there, mate, I'm afraid you can't get those odds with over 48.5 wins because currently, it's higher than that. The odds are already out on sportsbet.io, so you can check it out for yourself.

https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/basketball/usa/nba/nba-23-24-6490d1eb11281ad1f2fbdce3

Though even it's not 48.5 but 54.5 wins with Giannis and Dame still realistic to happen, if you love to spare money in risking into something
this kind of bet might attract you.

Early pick that will allow you to place your future bet, if things turn good for the Bucks. I mean, if Dame will support Giannis as the main alpha
of the team and put everything to his new team. The chance of winning that pick is very possible.

Ya, that’s the reason I was shocked with ESPN saying their number was 48.5. I think they easily hit that and wouldn’t be shocked if they won 60 games.

Looks like I’ll be getting my first look of the new Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night. For some reason I got an ad on HBO (MAX) saying the game would be televised there. We’ll see…
