281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jason Moloney vs Reymart Gaballo WBO Bantamweight Title (May 12) on: February 27, 2024, 02:20:08 PM
Right, that stigma has stuck with us, Filipinos still doesn't forget how Manny Pacquaio was robbed by Jeff Horn fighting in his native Australia. And so we can't really take that out of the equation every fight that it scheduled on that country specially in this case as it will be another Filipino fighting. Nevertheless, it will be totally in the hands of Gaballo. He should come here as the aggressor as he is the the one going to travel in that country and that he shouldn't rely to the judges to win this fight. Yes, he has the power to knockout Moloney and so he should be going for that in this fight.

The pressure is high for Gaballo since there are currently no Filipino boxing champions on the list. He could be the first to become a champion after the listing became empty. Ancajas failed, so now he should take the responsibility to uplift our country in the boxing world. This is another chance for him; he needs to have a convincing win so he could start chasing his dream. Just like Takuma Inoue, who recently defended his belt, Gaballo is also inspired to become a champion, and maybe someday we will see Gaballo vs. Inoue, and hopefully, Gaballo will be able to avenge his fellow boxer who fell to the hands of Inoue.

I think the expectations are not too high since he isn't a champion; he is just a challenger in this context. Maybe "inspired" is the right word to use, but if he were to fail, there's no blaming him as he tried his best. It's just that our boxers now may not be as good as during the times of Pacman. Just like during the fight of Ancajas, I'm still optimistic that one Filipino will finally become a champion this year. By the way, if Gaballo loses, we still have Magsayo who has a chance to become a champion again but in a different division.
282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 27, 2024, 01:52:45 PM
New York Knicks vs. New Orleans Pelicans

New Orleans Pelicans [1.75] - Zion Williamson and CJ McCollum are unhealthy for this game and have a potential that they can not play this game while Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson, and OG Anunoby can not play for this game so there is a disparity for the team to lose this one, while the New Orleans even though there is no Zion Williamson can still manage to win if they have Brandon Ingram and Jonas Valanciunas to the team so my pick for this game are the New Orleans Pelicans winning this game.

I guess it's wise to wait for an update, as these two players who are now listed as questionable are starters for the team. Without them, the NYK might struggle against the Pelicans. Although the Knicks are on a back-to-back game, it's a home game where they have an impressive record. I like the Pelicans actually, but I won't bet this early. I'll wait for the latest update, and I might get a high handicap once these two players listed as questionable are officially out.
283  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Isn't trading almost like gambling? on: February 26, 2024, 09:38:10 PM

My question is, isn't trading almost like gambling considering it uncertainty and also looking from the fact that he has lost a fortune out of trading within a short space of time?
It is gambling for a trader who doesn't know about trading and just relies on luck not on their knowledge and skills.
It is gambling for a person who never knows what are the things needed. And this somewhat happens in real life as most traders enter the market with no idea.
Quote
Is it possible for him to easily recover his money back or is losses like that very much a part of the trading experience?

Uncertain, maybe he could if he changed his strategy and improved his skills. But if not, instead of getting back his money, he even loses more. There is nothing wrong with chasing those losses in trading but if we make no changes, we only fail. In this case, it is better to quit trading and find other ways to earn money rather than hoping for this as it never works exactly to what we wanted.
284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Planning to invest in Bitcoin to perform Hajj. on: February 24, 2024, 08:36:32 PM
Thank you all, and actually this goal is not only to fulfill my mother's wish to perform the Hajj, but to ensure my mother's old age too.
Everything has been thought through carefully, and the figure of $3 per day has been considered after prioritizing essential needs, and what's more my mother still has extra monthly money from her other children which I think will be fine.
Once again, thank you for your input and prayers, and also pray that what you all hope for can come true.
We've always been motivated to work hard because we want someone to fulfill their dream and become happy. But without a good plan, it seems to be impossible. There is no stopping to a person who has the motivation and desires as we surely find ways how to make it possible.
Saving $3/day is big enough for some people as when accumulated, that is $90 in a month. Maybe you can increase the amount to $5 once your business has become established.

Good luck with your journey buddy. It will take a little bit longer but doing this consistently, little by little, it become big soon.
285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A lot of gambling sites are scams ! on: February 24, 2024, 07:57:21 PM
Online betting has become the main concern for the majority of young people, as players flock to casinos forcefully to obtain the largest possible amount of money.
The gambling industry is growing fast but can't stop these scammer who take advantage of the situation and their evil plans succeed. I'm not sure if this issue could be stopped knowing that the scammers are also continuing to spread and are even more aggressive now. Honestly, it is not only an issue for young people but for everyone. Of course, they will target beginners due to a lack of knowledge and experience.

Safe? We can as long as we are well-informed and have spent time searching.
286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc and people knowledge on: February 24, 2024, 07:19:17 PM
People say that they don't know what is the btc and there is no clear story for them to trust btc.
But the same people don't know what is the money and how it's created and they are collateral or some type of security body by themselfes.
Little do they know how the banks even creating money.
So money the fiat currencies are unknown same like btc for many people.
Also all people live their lifes and nobody don't ask questions what's the purpose of life.
So many questions that people must know but whom do they ask? We can't question why they don't trust Bitcoin because of the spread of wrong information on the internet and scam issues. I'm sure they hear Bitcoin but they don't bother to know it more because of the lack of interest. And the sad thing is that most of us usually believe what we have heard rather than believe of what really the purpose of Bitcoin is.
Quote
It's funny how they acting like they know everything but yet they don't nothing and then they say they know about money but don't know about btc.
Off course If some well known person will tell them let's use btc it's good and safe becouse i say so and Im trusted then people Will follow.
The same people who say things about cryptocurrency that it's unknown for them they act like they really know all about the other things what they trust,If you ask from average person can they explain the process of creating money debt and Fiat currency...they don't know.

It was easy to fool innocent people, influencers and many known personalities do this and many have followed. As I've said, many will listen and believe what they have heard and get satisfied without any verification if that is true or not.
287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun and not a way of making money on: February 24, 2024, 03:03:23 PM
In fact, the meaning of gambling is entertainment but wondering how it changed and became known as a money-maker. This is probably because of these gambling influencers who always say -multiply your money through gambling which changed the mindset of most gamblers, especially beginners. The strategy is quite working so well and many people are encouraged to gamble after seeing some players win the jackpot and become rich instantly. It sticks in their mind and that also gives them a reason why they are gambling already. We even see a lot of poor people gambling hoping to win big time and change their life.
288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 24, 2024, 02:45:09 PM
It's not tomorrow yet but on Sunday.

Here's the schedule.

Quote
First Gilas game would be on February 22, 8 p.m., against Hong Kong, followed by the match against Chinese Taipei on February 25, 7:30 PM.

Technically since we are following local PH time here in this thread, it's now February 24th here.

Same here, I also didn't see yet some bookies listing the upcoming FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers game between Gilas and Chinese-Taipei.

I suggest checking those local bookies within the GCASH app under GLIFE.

I just checked our local bookies, specifically Sportsplus, which is under GLIFE, but could not find that particular game. Both in the local listing and basketball in general, there are no betting odds yet. Well, this is for tomorrow since it's already 2:31 AM in the Philippines now, but let us not lose hope on this. Come back and check again an hour before the game.

You guys are too excited. Cheesy

Just wait for it and it'll be up soon. I was wondering if anybody here were able to be last game? I'm sure that was an easy win as Gilas had dominated the Hongkong by like 30 points (more or less). So if I guess it right, maybe the spread was just around -10 to -15 but sure it's not -20 or more.

You can't blame us to be so excited because we've see how Gilas dominated on their first game and we can't miss the opportunity to bet. Just checked again on the sportsbook I'm using but still could not find any odds, again I'll be patiently waiting and hopefully by tomorrow it will all be out.

Quote
Here, I would like to share my guess too, since Chinese Taipei has been a good rival for Gilas Pilipinas during the time of oach Chot (learning experience) then I guess the maximum would be -10. So are you willing to take that high spread?

With how the first game of Gilas turned out, it's not impossible to see that kind of spread. And your question, whether I'll take it even though it's high? Yes, of course. Bookies aren't fools to offer that kind of odds if Gilas is not capable of covering that. If you have doubts, just sit that one out, but for me, I love to gamble on spreads that are high like that.
289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - February 24 on: February 24, 2024, 02:08:41 PM
Undercard has started, unfortunately, for Filipino boxing fans, Jonas Sultan lost via knockout to Riku Masuda in round 1.

Kosei Tanaka vs. Christian Bacasegua Rangel for the WBO super flyweight title next.

Nobody saw this coming, Jonas is a veteran in championship fights it is very unlikely that he'll lose to a guy who is not yet a veteran in the ring having four fights in his career, but this is boxing anything can happen, a kidney punch is harder to recover than a head or chin punch because you can hardly breathe and you cannot move your body straight, a perfectly landed kidney shot will get you immobile for a few seconds.
Sultan will have a hard time climbing to the top again with this loss, he is expected to win here I even consider this a cherry-picked fight for Sultan.
Correct mate , this is boxing and each of them has a power punches and has their weaknesses ,
so once that the punch landed in their weaknesses then for sure they will feel the impact and maybe they
will not recovered like what had happened to Sultan today , he is a known veteran and a favorite actually
in this undercard but sadly things did not come His way now.

Sultan might be too overconfident coming into the fight. His style is so predictable; all he does is just attack and pressure his opponent. Unfortunately for him, he matched up with an unknown but powerful boxer. Maybe that would give him a lesson to learn. Next time, he should be careful; everyone makes mistakes, so they need to learn from that.

This is his first loss via KO, and that is from a fighter that has 4 wins and 1 loss, but all his wins are via KO. Sultan should have respected him.

290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you stand to gain from the bull run. on: February 23, 2024, 08:20:53 PM
For procrastinators, It's high time you all start accumulating Bitcoin aggressively through the DCA method, so that you wouldn't be left out from such an amazing opportunity.
Someone using DCA method to invest, be it in bitcoin or any other kind of investment does not need to be as aggressive as you have described above. DCA method is a passive way of investment which allows the investor to invest at their pace maintaining consistency. So, anyone using the DCA method shouldn't do so because of the coming bull run. They should have plans which might likely span to years.

Again, nothing is so sure in this industry and even the so called bull run could fail or not reach as anticipated. It is advisable not to invest in bitcoin with all your money. Take the risk that you are able to bear the consequences. Take good care of your self and invest according to your ability.
We should not miss this opportunity as much as possible. Although it is a risky investment but it was worth enough to take and besides, we know that we can't lose any if we hold and sell at a profiting price. DCA is a great working strategy but yes, we should still consider the market situation if we need to continue or if we need to take some break. We ain't sure about the incoming but in the current situation, I see that DCA is still applicable. Maybe we just stop the accumulation when the price hits $60k but while it was around $50k-$53k, still a good time to buy rather than miss this season.

Do you see a betting line already for the Gilas Pilipinas game tomorrow?

It seems it's not available on any gambling site. I don't know how this happened since this is a legit match, and people are interested in watching it. Last time, I wasn't able to bet as I could not find betting odds, and I wasn't able to watch the game live, so I haven't checked the odds if it was available at that time.

It's not tomorrow yet but on Sunday.

Here's the schedule.

292  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you feel excited while gambling on: February 23, 2024, 02:19:37 PM
For someone like me to have thought of going for gambling alone is excitement on itself because i will feel like having fun with gambling as am more in disposition for that during my leisure time, gambling is all about being entertained, the excitement should not only comes in when we are winning while gambling, we should always remember the purpose for gambling and the reason why we are going for it in the first place, this will be our courage each time we are gambling whether wining or not, we will be so excited
That is the thought of many (having fun and excitement) but it is also the reason why many people become addicted. I understand why because I was in that situation when first tried gambling but I'd never let my excitement push me to exceed my limit and be able to control my gambling habits. I will not say I was doing this for fun because I also wanted to win but I never chase my losses cause I know this will lead to losing more.

I was excited before but now, I just feel like a normal activity in my life as I do this not every day, it is when have free time. Having some gap in gambling helps to control and even stop falling addiction which I recommend everyone, especially for beginners.
293  Economy / Economics / Re: Isn't it all about money? on: February 23, 2024, 08:31:42 AM
It is your choice buddy, do what you want in your life as we don't bother with what you are doing. And don't bother yourself then seeing people go to school, finish college, and land a good job with a high salary because they deserve it as well. If you feel enough of what you have now, then it is good because all of us have different goals in life and we all struggle to achieve them.

Money, you can't feel comfortable in your life if you don't have money now, maybe before. People are working hard and even have sleepless nights just for this and granted. Life isn't easy now as it is too difficult to live without money, so be it.
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Someone have my wallet phrase on: February 22, 2024, 09:49:49 PM
What worse case scenario given then fact I have only 14$ on this wallet and of course not intend to deposit anymore funds to that wallet
Did someone withdraw your funds already OP? If there is suspicious activity, it is good not to touch or make a deposit in that account as it was compromised already, abandon it is the best thing to do.

I'm not sure what really happened to your wallet or if it was hacked already but in that case, it is possible to no longer see your funds anymore.
Creating a new one is necessary but you should keep your keys/phrases safe and out of sight from others or else, that still be going to happen again and again. Don't get easily fooled by hackers and scammers, they will target greedy and innocent people. Think first and do research before making a decision.
295  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can you make everybody to win in their crypto trading? on: February 22, 2024, 09:08:37 PM
Of course, no one can teach all novice traders how to win. It's simply physically impossible. You know, in the last century an experiment was carried out with the so-called “turtle traders”. This experiment tried to answer the question whether any person can be taught to become a successful trader or whether success is an innate trait. It turned out that both were true. But in general, in the market, everyone cannot win in principle, because someone must lose. Sometimes large funds, such as pension funds, lose money, but much more often it is newcomers who lose money in the market.
In trading, losing and winning are like inseparable from each other. Someone must lose in the process, in order for the other one to win, and vice versa. But we can’t expect that everyone will win or lose at a single time. Those who come out well-experienced in the market are most likely the most profitable traders while those who are still learning the process are most probably the one who endure consistent losses. However, there are no exception from losses as even those who have higher experience in the market still lose their trades at some point.
Otherwise, these trading platforms will never survive of all traders will win. Indeed, that is the reality, some will win while some will not, and sad to say that newbies have been suffering losses while old traders making money, and the cycle continues. That is why newbies should never think they can make money in trading easily or it is instant but instead, try to face the consequences first of possible losses and survive before they will taste success. Therefore, we have to make sure that we are strong enough and keep straight on our goal despite losses and struggles, or else, quitting may appear in our minds.
296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 22, 2024, 07:59:19 PM
Mavericks vs Suns
The Phoenix Suns entered the All-Star break in top form. In the last matchup between these two teams, Phoenix won against Dallas despite being down in the first half. The games between these two teams usually end in Dallas' favor. Phoenix broke that resistance in the last matchup, but it wasn't easy. Dallas has led at halftime against Phoenix in each of the last eight matchups. In such a tough matchup, the trend seems worth betting on. I'm going with Dallas.

Tough loss by the Dallas that time as they loss by 23 points. 132-109 was the score.
However, Irving was out that time and this game later he is gonna play with his new crew as well. The line up will be tested but I believe Dallas are gonna avenge their loss and will beat the Suns.

Cavaliers vs Magic
Cleveland had a great streak before the All-Star break and was the best team coming into the break. They have escaped from the tough environment in the Eastern Conference and are chasing at the top Boston. The Cavaliers have been especially effective at home and although Donovan Mitchell's illness is a concern, the fact that he has started practicing is encouraging. Orlando, on the other hand, has finished 6 of its last 7 games with high scores. Paolo Banchero may miss a game for the first time this season. It will be good to check his status at game time. I believe that Cleveland will not be easily defeated at home and will come out victorious in this game.
Cleveland hasn't been playing well at home recently. On their first game from a road trip, 76ers beat them, and then in the 2nd, although they won but the Bulls made it a close game losing by 3 points only. Maybe they will win but will not cover the spread, so I'm gonna ride with the moneyline here.
297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin, for long time Holding on: February 21, 2024, 09:46:12 PM
There are many types of Bitcoin investors, some invest for long-term holdings, while others invest for short-term holdings. But one thing is true, those who invest in Bitcoin for short term are never able to achieve anything big.

Don't get me wrong because some short-term investors earn more than long-term. Just imagine if they could make a profit of 3-5% monthly, it would be huge compared to those who have waited for many years and just earned x2 of their capital. It won't just matter on time but also how much you invested. If we can invest more, the more possibility that we earn more as well.
Quote
On the contrary, they face more losses.

Nobody loses as long as they won't sell at a losing price. Buy Bitcoin at $30,000 and then sell at $52,000, you could imagine good earnings in just a short period than waiting for 1 year and just selling at $60,000.
298  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you feel about high-profile traders making wrong calls ? on: February 21, 2024, 08:54:41 PM
Remember that there is no such perfection in trading. Though they are experts and have been in trading for many years this never gives an assurance that they will be perfectly right as the market is volatile. Therefore, it was not a surprise but seems accepted knowing that this is what really happens in trading.

If these high-profile traders make wrong calls, that much more it happens to the beginners. But this is not bad as nobody makes a perfect decision, well commits mistakes even though we don't like it. Otherwise, all traders are rich and wealthy people
299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Couple won the jackpot but split soon after! on: February 21, 2024, 02:26:56 PM
I never really know the whole story, and for all we know he could be telling lies, or she could be avoiding the truth. Anyhow, knowing they don't have conjugal responsibilities to each other, they should have went for the 50/50 split before actually leaving each other. Imagine winning that kind of amount, only to pay taxes and legal fees afterwards just because one is greedy enough to take it all instead of splitting the bill evenly. That's a clean $950k for each of them if they just went for the split, no lawsuits or publicity of their names involved!

Accoriding to the article shared by OP.

Quote
He said: “I am in shock. I can openly admit that we wouldn’t have got that ticket without Charlotte, but she wouldn’t have got it without me either.

“I know it was her bank account that paid for it, but it should go 50-50 morally.”

However, Charlotte hit back at his “rubbish” claims last night.

And sources close to her insisted her former boyfriend has “no right” to the money as she paid for the winning ticket.

They are not married, so there's no conjugal properly. And they are just dating for 3 months, so that's a short period of time to create a bond in the relationship. I think the guy trying to force his right to get the half of the winning, he said "morally",but if it's the law that will be followed, whoever paid fo for the winning ticket should have the right of the winning, and it was the woman.
300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: February 21, 2024, 01:35:39 PM
risking your job just to gamble during working hours is quite a stupid act. because gambling can be done whenever he wants, there is no need to do it during working hours. supposedly if he is smart, he can do it when he gets home from work or on the weekend, he can gamble all day until he gets tired. so there is no reason that a person is justified in gambling during working hours just because he cannot control his urge to gamble or is too bored at work.

This is doable if you are playing a casino game. However, if you are betting on sports and the schedule coincides with your working hours, you might be tempted to gamble to avoid missing the action. Additionally, since you are gambling, you may need to check the scores or watch a live stream, which typically consumes a significant amount of time. This is clearly taking time away from your work, making you less effective and you'll likely get fired anytime soon.
