2801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Announce] Fairbrix relaunched! on: October 03, 2011, 05:55:06 PM
The next step for Fairbrix is a block explorer. But it will take a fair bit of work to create a daemon version of fairbrix similar to what lolcust has done with the tenebrix daemon. Let me know what your thoughts are and I will decide whether or not to spend time on this.

I'm in support of not having a FBX-BTC exchange for a while. I believe if an exchange starts up too early, the coin will become a pump and dump coin. If all you did was spend a few days mining a new coin and an exchange opens that values your coins at 100 BTC, why wouldn't you just sell all your coins and make 100 BTC for a fews days of work? I think that is what's happening with GeistGeld and Tenebrix. And when that happens, it's hard for a coin to succeed.

So what I want is to see if Fairbrix can stand on its own. See if people are willing to mine it without an exchange in sight. If people believe in the cpu-based mining concept without the premining, then they will continue to mine fairbrix... similar to how people mined bitcoins without an exchange early on. And if that happens, then it will become a viable alternative to bitcoin.

Cool idea.

2808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Possible 51% Attack on fairbrix (fbx) on: October 03, 2011, 02:31:01 PM
Or is this proof that new chains are so subject to attack that it just isn't worth it?

Most likely answer.
2809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What CPU currency are you mining? on: October 03, 2011, 02:23:40 PM
Personally, I might start mining solidcoin 6.66, after all the preceding solidcoins collapse.

Maybe presence of Satan can make Solidcoin work Cheesy

I will mine GeistBrix with 14 million premined coins next Smiley

14 ? Pfah, nonsense!

In fact, I will premine just 2 mils for Hurricane Catrina charities, but will impose a 3% "protection" "tax" on all transactions and will introduce mandatory miner registration ^__^

Yes in fact I will make my own chain where I hold the only premined coin, Onecoin Smiley

I will lease this coin for people wanting to use it for a load of $$$ !
2810  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: AMD Catalyst™ Control Center / AMD Vision™ Engine Control Center 11.9 Released! on: October 03, 2011, 02:21:31 PM
It takes then 2 version (6 months)

6 months?
11.5 = May 2011
11.6 = June 2011
11.7 = July 2011
11.9 = September 2011

Ok sorry 4 months.  Is that better?  I mean AMD has a broken driver for what feels like forever.  The problem isn't subtle.  The 100% CPU bug affect AMD own examples in their SDK.

I mean it is impossible not to replicate it.
1) Install 2+ GPU
2) Run AMD own example.
3) Verify 100% CPU bug.

Despite that AMD doesn't fix it and then breaks it further so it ALSO affects single GPU.  They finally fix that 4 months later and the fix is limited to single GPU only. AMD can't even confirm if they are working on a fix or that they have verified a problem exists.

Well that is exactly the reason I always buy Nvidia graphics. ATI = crap drivers for ever left unfixed. Too bad Nvidia cannot recognize our movement and come out with the appropriate solution Sad

2813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Possible 51% Attack on fairbrix (fbx) on: October 03, 2011, 10:12:50 AM
Yes, and I have an idea for a chain that will be completely fair, immune to all known attacks, any possible unknown attack and even impossible unknown attacks! Mining it will also produce more power than it consumes. So not only will it revolutionize the global financial economy, it'll also fix the energy crisis, cure cancer and shit rainbows! And it'll be done Real Soon Now(tm).

Going to crawl back into your little house built with failbrix? It's going to be hilarious.

I seriously do not understand what some of you personally seem to have against the guy. He is damn funny as well LOL made my day.

2814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CPU Mining - Who will emerge Dominant? on: October 03, 2011, 10:09:13 AM
Yeap Solidcoin was the earliest with the idea, hopefully theirs won't be so difficult.
No matter what you say SC will always NOT be the first and will simply be an iteration of Tenebrix.

GPU hostility or better known as parallel computing hostility was tried and failed awhile back by cryptographers trying to come up with a hashing solution that couldn't be cracked by the likes of GPU's and FPGA's. Same principle applies here.

Works for me and rather than get greedy, I'll simply drop a single 5770 on it and rack up hella lot of coin. A single 5770 will compute like 30 Core i7-2600's  Grin

care to elaborate?

lolcust, artforz, your thoughts about this claim?
I honestly have zero clue what he's talking about. But I have the slight feeling if it were true it'd be HUGE news in the cryptographic community...

Hey, maybe HE makes the news in the cryptographic community  Grin AND he just did not get to writing the article yet LOL

Porter Stansberry is an alarmest of the economic variety.

Interesting advertisement though.

He wants you to send cash for information (you know, the worthless federal reserve note variety he hates).

Just like Alex Jones and his ilk, they want to scare people using partial truths, to make money off you.

Don't get me started on them lot LOL !

I too am very interested in this claim. Mr. Maddox Express is claiming that the IE9 hardware accelerator will make GPU mining possible on the likes of Fairbrix, Tenebrix and Solidcoin 2 !? Is this true !?
2817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Possible 51% Attack on fairbrix (fbx) on: October 03, 2011, 09:58:25 AM
Even if the code is not done yet, the ideas are better than bitcoin and any other chain out there. You just cannot see it because of you inherent hate towards any other chain that beats bitcoin.

Look, he is not promising to do all this. Let us just give him a chance to prove what he is saying then we can troll him.

Good doggie.

Now play dead.

Good puppet master.

Now go pump and dump them brix !!! Wonder why TBX price is so low now  Roll Eyes

On another note, what about our genius' revelation ? BitcoinExpress said that virtually all these CPU only currencies can easily be made into GPU currencies by IE9 hardware accelerator !? How true is that for Tenebrix ?
2819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Announce] Fairbrix relaunched! on: October 03, 2011, 09:39:41 AM
Assuming there was a 51% attack whoever did that attack probably has a shitload of bricks. If any exchange is ever opened those bricks will be dumped there.

Can't wait !
2820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Tenebrix, a CPU-friendly, GPU-hostile cryptocurrency on: October 03, 2011, 09:38:41 AM

Well until you can disprove it, it can be assumed to be true and the guy who attacked Fairbrix can actually be Artforz/lolcust until you have concrete evidence to disprove this.

That's not how evidence works.

Otherwise, unless you can disprove it, bulanula is a  dog that learned to type.

WOW it really shows how things can degenerate on here. I am not in any way affiliated with SC or CoinHunter.

But can you disprove claims to the contrary ?

Nope. Neither can you disprove that you attacked Fairbrix because it would kill Tenecrap Smiley

So I am an evil haxxx0r and you are a dog that learned to type ? Nice.

LOL the entertainment value in these forums is just over 9000 !!! Might as well rename it to comedycoin
