2301  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [800 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); Pool back in action! on: November 05, 2011, 07:29:05 PM
Your a better man the I,  I would simply ban them (which is likely why I don't run a pool  Grin)

I've learned a lot of new stuff during this year, thanks to running the pool. Now I don't mean technically, but pool gave me a lesson to not keep everything personally. I'm running public service which keep valuable tokens and I must understand that people are nervous when they don't get what they expected. Only few of them understand the troubles which I had and that I had only a little chance to pretend it, but it's obviously my problem, not theirs. So I'm very glad for all that support from people who understand, but trying to not get mad from people who're crazy about 0.5$ :-).

Sorry to make you all feel like that but to me even $0.5 is very expensive when the money is not mine but the bank's and I have to give it back. Thank you again slush ! It really mattered to me you kept your word.
2302  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [800 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); Pool back in action! on: November 05, 2011, 06:57:43 PM
NMC payouts were sent and automatic payouts are enabled again. Thank you all for your patience.

RobertRibbeck: Exactly as I promised 19 hours ago.

Thank you for keeping your word mate. You set a good example. Others would have likely ran with the money.
2303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hashrate Distribution Chart on: November 05, 2011, 06:55:19 PM
i Find the chart to be extremly inaccurate anyways

For me it is quite useful. Wonder why bitcoinwatch.com took it down in the first place !?!?
2304  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [800 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); Pool back in action! on: November 05, 2011, 04:09:19 PM
Well say what you want but for me 15 NMC is a lot. I am not one of the people that got 250 000 BTC like BitcoinExpress. I am very poor.

$0.50 is not a lot to anyone.  If getting $0.50 today or next week makes that big of a difference than maybe you shouldn't be mining.  I mean come on have some perspective.

Tell that to people in Asia living on $1 a month. Anyway, considering I am -5k ATM in hardware even a cent is a + for me.
2305  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [800 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); Pool back in action! on: November 05, 2011, 10:59:51 AM
So now I have 15.50773064 NMC and want to get it all out to pay the bills. Then I start my miners again as they been off now. How can I get all the funds out ? Thanks !

Wow! So you will get the amazing sum of about 0.15 BTC or roughly little over 50 cents for ALL your collected namecoins. Don't spend it all at once. Wondering just how high that energy bill of yours is. I'd really love to switch to your power provider.

2306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to prove that the sender for a payment was truly me? on: November 05, 2011, 01:14:58 AM
It'd be pretty sweet to be able to include a short message with your transaction. While I guess this message would be pubically readable (i.e. in the blockchain) it'd be good for reference numbers and the like. There's no reason why this technically couldn't happen right?

Can't wait for this. Yet more blockchain bloatware. It is almost 1GB now and that is HUGE for some people like me. People in LEDCs where the net is limited will not be able to afford to download this big a blockchain and yet you propose even more data in it Huh Does not make sense to me.
2307  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [800 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); Pool back in action! on: November 04, 2011, 09:54:02 PM
bulanula: NMC payouts are still stopped, but BTC payouts works. Simply change your sending threshold to 0.01 and pool will send it to you in 15 minutes.

OK great work mate. Thank you very much. Any ETA on the NMC bit ?

Thank you again and I really congratulate you for doing the good thing with this and taking the time to do it properly. Well done ! Only if more people in this community were as good as you.

Great site.  Can you add a larger historical timeframe also.  Like block % over the last month, quarter or year.

Seems to be down Sad some cloudflare thing. also the payment received notification thing seemed to be quite good but does not work anymore ?

Thanks.

Anyone here left thinking RS has bribed the mods with tons of SC Grin Huh The rabbit hole goes even deeper ... Tongue

No, I don't think it's that, it's just that SC isn't a 'traditional' scam. I don't think most of the mods frequent the AltCurrency board, and without informing them (here) of all the red flags, they simply wouldn't know.

Still one has to admit a fact. The amount of PR that SC gets from this forum with BCX and all the others is just phenomenal. RS might as well be paying the forum for advertising SC at this point in time. Flame on folks ! You fail to realise that by talking about SC you are actually giving it more momentum Tongue

Sue goes to the Marketplace forums, and says 'I have a 5850 for sale. It's brand new with an aftermarket heat-sink included.  Send me 150 BTC and it's yours.

People then weigh take variables into account before they invest.  They weigh their long-term electric cost, initial cost, they are able to weigh how much a 5850 and an aftermarket heatsink are worth to them, before they spend their money.

Now Sue sends instead a 5770 with no heat-sink at all. Though a 5770 is still technically a graphics card, what was received is not what was advertised.   Or what if the card was broken?  Or what if Sue left out the heatsink?  Further, what if any of those things happened and it was proven that Sue had prior knowledge? Or what if Sue used the defense she made a 'decision' she thought was best for you, without your input?  Sue would be labeled a scammer for accepting peoples investment and changing the terms of the sale after the fact.

CoinHunter goes to the Cryptocurrency forums, and says 'I have an investment opportunity.  If you invest X money (based on your hardware cost), you'll receive Y (coin reward) over Z period (time it takes to find a block), according to N parameters (design of SC). People then weigh all those variables into account before they invest.

Coinhunter has adjusted and concealed many variables people must weigh in order to make a proper investment. Further, CoinHunter has lied about his own 'earnings', to a tune of holding a whopping ~85% of the current coin supply. Coinhunter has changed the Y reward and N parameters directly, after initial investment was made. The investment made by those people, whether it be through buying on an exchange or contributing hashes to the blockchain, were done under the guise of A terms, but coinhunter executed the investment under B terms, of which B terms are directly beneficial to Coinhunter and directly detrimental to the investor.

Lets take TerryTibbs case.  He sold X-long Spotify accounts, which lasted only X-N. Since the investment advertised was not the investment received, Terrytibbs was labeled a scammer.

I do not see how this is any different than what Coinhunter is trying to pull off.

This is beside the Oracle DB licenses
This is beside the Bitcoin MIT licenses

In genuine sincere honesty, I'm at a loss of what else the mods would need in order to take action.

2312  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1200 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz);Pool reinstalled and running again! on: November 04, 2011, 05:16:05 PM
I didn't see anything happen to the price of nmc after slush released the last buildup of nmc payouts, and that amounted to something like 80,000 nmc.

This. And also the BTC payout won't be so huge, don't expect any market move because of this payout.

Have funds been released yet ? Mine are still hostage. Also it still shows unconfirmed and confirmed as same values even though mostly all my funds should be confirmed by now.

Thanks for the hard work !

So everything seems stable, it's time to process payments!

I take it that's why the confirmed and unconfirmed reward is staying the same in spite of several rounds passing - same for NMC.

Yep I noticed that too !
2314  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1200 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz);Pool reinstalled and running again! on: November 04, 2011, 02:30:52 PM
If I suck up to slush, will I get paid faster?
O Slush you are my hero!

LOL. Well let us hope that maybe tomorrow payments are working again.
2315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally visited the SilkRoad on: November 04, 2011, 11:57:13 AM
Well, I don't know. I have visited it couple of times just for interest, and the amount of drug ads went from 1000 something to almost 1500 in a couple of months. (last time checked couple of days ago). Let's see if the trend grows.

I haven't used tor before, and I think the effort of getting to the site is easy - you just install tor browser bundle, the address of Silk Road is in wikipedia easily found with googling.

I also checked the feedback of one seller - he had 100+ pages of positive feedback. From my software business I have learned that only about 1-10% of my customers leave feedback in app store/android market. This is very different market of course.

Also it is very hard to estimate the amount of sales on silk road - you can estimate it by following the feedback, but i think feedback isn't required. (Somebody correct me if I am not right)

Speculators also like to think that the silk road business will increase bitcoin price - that is actually not the case, at least the effect isn't that big. Silk road and the sellers don't need to hold their bitcoins. During the escrow process the funds are hedged to dollars. Also probably now most sellers just sell their bitcoins as soon as possible, because of longtime downward trend.

Exactly. BTC is just a proxy currency ATM. It is often said that more adoption = huge price rise. That is simply not the case etc.
2316  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1GH/s, 20w, $500 — Butterflylabs, is it a scam? on: November 04, 2011, 09:38:53 AM
Obvious scam is obvious. Let us move on. Shame on you Butterfly labs. The last thing we need here is more damn scammers. Great !

I just consider NMC reward as a gift.

Well not when it goes down LOL. Any idea why this is happening ?

I believe NMC is paid out when your balance is over 42.xx NMC

Yes but why did my balance decreases when I mine etc. ?

what is the value of everpaid right after balance?

There seems to be none. Maybe because I just registered my NMC address ?
