I agree. That's why I'm working on adding p2pool to the litecoin client. So once you start the client, you can turn on mining and easily earn a few litecoins for yourself. That would do more to raise interest in the project I think.
Nice. Are you going to release 64-bit version of the client with 64-bit miner in it? Built-in miner is very convenient but slow compared to 64-bit minerd...

What prevents you using the 64bit miner manually ? What good is a 64bit client when the miner needs to be 64bit but the client can be 32bit as it is not mining but just a front end for the minerd.exe ?

Pass in "-r -1"

Or uninstall and install the much better LiteCoin.  Grin

Exactly. Where is lolcust anyway ? Seems he got washed in his own laundry lol.

Really nice idea on the p2pool implementation.
2284  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1GH/s, 20w, $500 — Butterflylabs, is it a scam? on: November 06, 2011, 09:59:24 AM
If this is true, it really will change the mining landscape.
2285  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1291 GH] BTC Guild - Pure PPS, LP, SSL, Instant Payout, No Invalid Blocks on: November 06, 2011, 09:54:24 AM
Added Pool Block History page, API for it will be coming soon as well so web services can scrape our block data.

Regarding bitlane's post, yes, there was about 15 seconds of downtime last night for a pool restart.

MM coming soon I assume then ?

Not until shadders releases the final PSJ which includes built in work generation for merged mining.

So how come other pools already have MM ? I am not too well informed on MM.
2286  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [800 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); Pool back in action! on: November 06, 2011, 09:46:38 AM
Price of NMC will keep on being a little more stead if you exchange manually once a week than say automatically every time NMC is generated.

BTW did the pool just go down for some time as uptime is now about 3hrs where it was like 5 days before etc. ?

No significant downtime as far as I am aware:  http://stats.pingdom.com/4cr8bt233281/376272

Nice website. Never knew about it. Thanks.

BTW what is the minimum payout for NMC right now ? Is it 42 or 46 as claimed earlier or ... Huh

Can anyone tell me what this means exactly?

"N9MJ9HJgpohZKW2E79Jr7zWZTnDMhA6rDn":{"balance":3978459462,"oldest":1320204828,"newest":1320527401.23},

I haven't received any payments.

[edit] Think I figured it out... 39.78 nmc balance.  I am so smrt.

Yes you are right. BTW did the pool just go down for some time as uptime is now about 3hrs where it was like 5 days before etc. ?

A bit off topic but since you all wanted to know : I have spend that amount on a crazy setup that did not quite work out but I will make it work in the end. ATM I mine with different pools.
2291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: November 06, 2011, 01:05:22 AM
Is there somewhere I can download the blkindex.dat and blk0001.dat files as I cannot redownload the whole thing again on my slow netbook. Thank you.

Coblee, some others might also like the above so maybe consider doing regular snapshots of this etc.
Run your netbook with -addnode=(ip of your main computer) and it'll go in a couple of minutes.

OK that went pretty fast. Hope LTC makes it. I am no longer a subject of King RealScam and his various taxes and wallet deletions. ScamCoin deserves to die now. Way to go LTC !

Funny that the AMDFam10 miner is faster on i7 too LOL.

Is there litecoin faucet and blockexplorer ?

It wasn't that long ago when you were calling me a Japanese scammer. Smiley

There's no faucet because I don't believe the faucet really does much good. It's just another way for people to get free coins.
Here are 2 block explorers:

http://explorer.liteco.in/
http://blockexplorer.sytes.net/chain/Litecoin

Well things have changed between me and SC Smiley

This seems to be getting more legit by the day. Wonder when the whole network will switch to these incredible boxes. AMD and ATI is going down LOL !

In sum, we're getting very close.  I'm sorry for not engaging in your warm discussion, but after all, Missouri is the "Show me" state and I think that's the right sentiment for the moment.

So why is your corporation not listed with Missouri Board of Corporations (as required by state law)?

https://www.sos.mo.gov/businessentity/soskb/SearchResults.asp?FormName=CorpNameSearch&Words=Starting&SearchStr=Butterfly+Labs&SearchType=Search

I completely agree with you D&T. Business is business. Some strange points still remain with BFL. Last thing we need is more scammers in this community but ATM it is looking pretty real to me Smiley
2294  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Are risers causing problem? on: November 05, 2011, 08:34:15 PM
Make sure the rises are firmly inserted/well seated into the mobo pcie slot, I had a similar issue where it was a contact problem. A firm insertion and some hot glue fixed my problems.

LOL hot glue on a mobo Huh Do not want Grin

Contrary to comments I have made in the past : this looks damn real to me. Nice quality and workmanship too. However why no screenshots showing hashrate etc. ? Why not showing it in actual action, hashing ? How can I be a community tester for this thing ? Prices are maintained still ?

Thanks.

One thing we need to solve here is consistent information.

We need a wiki and desperately.

Where can I get latest client ? What are other people getting on their CPUs ?

I know where to find this but a noob would not. We also need to make sure that LTC is not 51% etc.

Thank you !
2299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Tenebrix, a CPU-friendly, GPU-hostile cryptocurrency on: November 05, 2011, 07:47:08 PM
Besides would merging LTC and TBX even have any effect on supply? Wouldn't the difficulties just go up and the production of coins in booth remain constant?

So then it all it really does is make booth chains more robust...

Yes. I prefer we leave LTC alone right now as it is only second to NMC and BTC right now. MM can bring problems as the NMC dropping price shows.
2300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A tale of two graphs on: November 05, 2011, 07:42:39 PM
Even if someone IS a 'believer' in SC, mining would be dumb.  They'd be better off mining LTC then selling them and buying SC - getting more than if they directly mined the SC.

Of course how many of those who profess to believe in SC actually do is very open for debate.  All the time the price was decent (before the change in generation rate) the sensible thing to do was to mine and (falsely) claim you believed in SC, in the hope that some 'true believers' would actually buy the SC you mined.

There is a risk though that hardly anyone really believes in SC - and nearly all of them are pretending to in order to encourage others to drive the price up by buying.  If true that would obviously explain why they're trading well below the cost to produce them - as all the ''believers' are talking the talk (that SC will be the best thing ever) but hardly any are walking the walk (buying the useless things because they REALLY believe what they're saying).

Man, it is like you are reading my mind Grin ! Glad I got rid of that POS before RS could delete my wallet. LTC here I come !
