2041  Economy / Services / Re: 3DMark11 Advanced Edition worth $19.99 for 70% of full price ( 6.25 BTC ) on: November 21, 2011, 07:35:53 PM
Nobody interested to help the BTC economy ?

What is the problem ? No offers ? Price is negotiable.

Hate to sell it for USD on a OCers forum when all I want is BTC.
2042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: November 21, 2011, 11:25:28 AM
Not good idea. Send many is very useful and needed. You are sounding more and more like RealScam with these demonic measures and frequent client updates ( remember SC beta 5 then 6 then 7 all in like 1 hour ? ). Let the miners decide if the chain is bloated and the TX fees. Maybe coblee is RS Shocked. Kind of makes sense : you control the biggest competitor to SC and get all the market for altcoins by yourself.
2043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: November 21, 2011, 10:53:37 AM
More flaws in the protocol. Too bad we don't have compulsory TX fees like ScamCoin.
2044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Merged mining for Ixcoin on: November 21, 2011, 09:34:00 AM
Namecoin has a purpose of domain name system.   Bitcoin is the main coin.  Ixcoin must seperate from the pack with merged mining to offer something the other coins don't.  That is why I strongly propose a 1 mining reward after block 40,000 or block 50,000.  Doing so will create the lowest inflation coin and the price will skyrocket.  Mostly likely past bitcoin to gold parity Smiley.   It will be the 1st true digital currency.

Keep drinking the kool aid.

Network is not scalable if it can't handle all these transactions. Cut the blockchain down somehow too ?
2046  Economy / Marketplace / Re: SkepsiDyne Integrated Node - The Bitcoin Mining Company on: November 20, 2011, 08:42:19 PM
@Tawsix
Fuck you! You're practically saying that the only way investors get proof of what you put into SIN is if you guarantee that we get nothing!

This is the kind of shit your character shows that you're capable of! Don't expect us to take this quietly.

Scammers gonna scam. I am filing suit this coming Monday. No questions asked. Can't change my mind now. I probably held most of these shares. Mr. Scammer I just have only one word for you : whether you like it or not, you are going DOWN !
2047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How exactly would a 51% attack work? on: November 20, 2011, 08:36:57 PM
Your understanding is close.
If I had 51%, I could mine a chain of blocks in which I transfer all my coins to my personal wallet. I'd mine this chain about 10 long, but not tell the rest of the network. At the same time, I convert all my coins to dollars on the exchange and withdraw them. This happens on the normal blockchain.

After my withdrawal has gone through. the normal blockchain is about 9 long, while my blockchain is 10 long. I announce all my blocks to the network, and lo and behold, the network confirms I am right.

But dollars can't be reverted! So the exchange takes a loss.

Instead of the exchange, I could do this with buying anything for bitcoins. If this happens a few times, it will probably kill bitcoin, or at least hurt the trust in the system severely.

Ahh, I see. So 51% is the magic number because that's the point at which a person can make alternative blocks faster than the rest of the network combined, and then spring the alternative, longer blockchain on everybody all at once, later on, where it replaces the blocks everyone thought were already finalized and settled.

Thank you!
Exactly. Satoshi's original paper contains calculations for how many blocks the recipient has to wait to keep the chance of succeeding in double-spending at a given level (say 0.1%), as a function of the attacker's hashrate. At >50% hashrate the number of blocks if infinite - no matter how many blocks are waited, the attacker has 100% chance to eventually have the longer chain.

This attack isn't the only thing you can do with high hashrate, though.

What else can you do ? Please share. Thank you !

You still seem to be being browser-centric.  I have servers which don't even have a browser on them - and if .bit ever gains wider traction, I'd like them to be able to resolve .bit names.  (for email, serverside api requests etc)
If various applications that might need to talk to your .bit domain need to be specifically configured or even reprogrammed - it greatly reduces the utility of the whole idea.

This is easy to do on a server with a socks proxy or by setting up your own DNS server.

Yeah like Joe Average will do that. No chance. Namecoin just slipped and is now under SLC and BTC. Sad.

Cue in the popcorn Grin

I think legal action is the best course of action for now.

LOL at putting out how much he has worked for us and all that additional costs to cover his backside. Scammer you are doing it wrong; transparency = bad even if the figures are made up out of your backside. We need electricity, contractor, rent and all that bills ( not fake PS stuff ) to be able to trust you after all you have done.
2051  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: FPGA development board "Icarus " for mining purpose - pre order information on: November 20, 2011, 05:02:11 PM
Looking forward to 25 and 26 November.

25 = BFL magical unicorn = fake
26 = Icarus real PCB = real

Are there any more dense / powerful models in the pipeline ? Thanks !

Any more news on optimizations for 2600K ?
2053  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1GH/s, 20w, $500 — Butterflylabs, is it a scam? on: November 20, 2011, 04:55:52 PM
In the bet I made BFL had to sell the same unit as the demonstration unit. Just because they have a box that will output something does not mean that they will sell these units at that price. As we talked about before, show a unit that cost them $3,000 to make and then orders flow in. In my bet I added an extra two month for them to really sell what they showed in their demonstration. The demonstration that will happen in the next few days is not proof this is not a scam. Also I would be willing to make a side bet they do not even do a demonstration in person by the 25th. PM if interested.

I am waiting to see the magical unicorn on the 25 Nov. Can't wait Tongue. Prepare your socks to be blown off.
2054  Economy / Speculation / Re: I like the manipulator, I had him all wrong, he is robbing you fools on: November 19, 2011, 03:27:14 PM
I am an atheist. I believe that "the Manipulator" does not exist. It is a product of your imagination.

Someone with $100 000 and / or 50 000 BTC could easily manipulate the whole market.

Are you saying these sorts of people do not exist ?
2055  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1GH/s, 20w, $500 — Butterflylabs, is it a scam? on: November 19, 2011, 02:50:57 PM
The reason why BFL can do this is because they bought chips on the cheap due to a lost contract with Libya... Wow... This is so far the most reasonable explanation on how they can do what they are doing at this price!

If this where true, their would clearly be a limit on how many they could produce. Better order now!!!

I have already ordered like 10. Hope you don't beat me. You know there are only 100 available. Pre order NOW !!!
2056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: November 18, 2011, 09:50:19 PM
Can we find out who is doing this at least ?
2057  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: FPGA development board "Icarus " for mining purpose - pre order information on: November 18, 2011, 01:09:46 AM
I'm also considering to buy one. But have few doubts. You claim that first batch buyers will get xilinx programming cable (clone I supose) and ISE 13.2 right?

What about upgrading ISE, it will be possible in future? When A7 arrives I wanted to experiment with them and fully licensed ISE will be necessary. For now ISE 13.3 supports XC7A8 & 15 but it requires licence (what kind I don't know). Can you check that is possible to upgrade and synthesize something for Atrixes?

Do you release schematics for board? I would like to look at it, before decide to buy.

do not ask too much about the ISE software please,  Wink

the SCHs will release @ approx. 11/26. when i came back home. Grin

Guess you are timing it with the BFL realease on Nov 25 then ? Nice. Competition is good between FPGA producers.
2058  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1100 GH] BTC Guild - Pure PPS Merged Mining, LP, SSL, Instant Payout on: November 18, 2011, 01:08:53 AM
Looking for any new suggestions as the weekend approaches for me.  Current plans are:

1) Miner offline notifications will be returning to some users, slowly rolling out to the whole pool.  Will likely be adding SMS notifications on top of emails.
2) Mining Teams
3) NMC added to the API

Mining Teams = useless
SMS = most important if works for all countries also UK etc.
NMC API = important as well

Thanks !

No news from BFL yet again. 25 Nov I await anxiously Shocked !

It must be the second coming of Jesus but only a month earlier than usual Tongue.

God help us !

So we can assume tawsix controls ~8,000 with which he can do whatever with...

If he votes with those ~8k shares, then we know that he doesn't give a fuck what we think and that we need to take him to court.
Yeah that.  It'll be pretty clear the course of action that needs to be taken if there's suddenly a huge amount of shares voting towards liquidation.

LOL. We got owned on GLBSE as well. Pretty smart to own 51% of the shares so only you can vote. Damn scammer !
