2101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Client port 443 outgoing connection on: November 13, 2011, 06:41:58 PM
That domain belongs to Digital River, a company who, among other things, does third party software activations. Really strange.

Maybe Gavin used that to prevent piracy with the Oracle license Tongue ?

Gabi < I know I am plugging my own code, but have a look at the most recent MultiBit download for an easy to use client.

I have been trying quite hard to make it approachable and straightforward to use.   Its overall goal to make it easy for new people to see the benefits of bitcoin.

http://multibit.org

There is still quite a lot to do on it (most notably encryption) but try it out to see if you like it.

Can I send without compulsory TX fee ? If not, then it is fail.
2104  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1GH/s, 20w, $500 — Butterflylabs, is it a scam? on: November 13, 2011, 04:52:42 PM
Confirming that I have received the additional 13.5 BTC from (presumably) Goat.

So that's 20 to 10 bet for whom and they are under the same conditions as the first bet, yes?

Why the heck don't we have a transaction message type system STILL Huh Development is so damn slow, it is like somebody is being paid to slow down the development. Even Firefox gets releases faster than Bitcoin. And the new wallet bug LOL. One day people are going to lose their BTC and have nobody but themselves to blame. Also, compulsory TX fees ... what is this ? 2030. Not really, ATM there is no need for TX fees because the miner income with 50BTC is huge already. They need less BTC to stop inflation !

BFL, got any news ?
2105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the way forward for bitcoin? on: November 13, 2011, 04:33:38 PM
I think more speculation is the way to go.

$100 by Christmas anyone ? It still is possible. Buy now !!!

2107  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: NamecoinGUI (with bitcoin support) - v0.5.0.18 on: November 13, 2011, 02:38:15 PM
What you need to do is remove that TX fee because right now miners do not need additional TX fees with such huge block rewards !
2108  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Which is the best pool for mining? - A guide for choosing the right pool on: November 13, 2011, 11:59:10 AM
I am getting a new 5830 in the next few days. I propose to set up the card to mine round-robin at PPLNS, PPS and Prop pools over an extended period, just to see how the payments (after adjusting for fees if the pool charges any) stack up against each other. Since there has been a lot of disagreement with PPLNS and intermittent mining and long-term results, i am thinking round-robin setup in cgminer can simulate the intermittent nature of mining. Please suggest:

 * Pool(s) for each category (PPLNS/PPS/Prop)
 * Mining software most suitable for this test run (cgminer seems best to me)
 * What should be the total time frame for the test run - i mean, what time frame is long-term enough to average out the different variance levels?
 * Basis of comparing the earnings - OTTOMH i think it might be ok to compare average reward per share from each pool, but pls suggest better ideas
 * Any other suggestions...

Once set up, I will publish the API key for each pool account so that anyone can monitor the progress.

Ideas?

There is no disagreement mate. We all know that PPLNS / Prop suck and that PPS is really the only viable pool system. Only solo is better when you have the power. People using Prop / PPLNS deserve to be cheater by pool hoppers, have a ton of variance and cheated by pool operator. Sheep do your research !

That guy you think it's me... It's not. You are a complete clown. And stop hiding behind Tor, or are you afraid that your family, co-workers and friends find out the piece of shit you are? OH, that's right, you don't have a family, co-workers or friends because you're nothing more than a loser and probably not even your family wants to deal with you, much less friends or even having a job.

Nice try Coinhumper but you should leave Doxxing to the pro's LOL, you almost had it right.

Let me try, Psy

1) Coinbits.com in your profile
2) Leads to Digitalcurrency.eu
3) Whois info in EU coughs up psykick.ruhyn@gmail.com
4) psykick.ruhyn@gmail.com uncovers A LOT.
5) Email leads to Myspace profile and photo album with 100's of pics http://www.myspace.com/rui_santos/photos

Your name is Rui Santos and this is you.
I suggest you whimper back to RealSolid and suggest trying a different approach to disruption LOL...

Even though I am not a SC supporter any more, when will you dox me ? Been waiting for quite some time Smiley

2115  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1GH/s, 20w, $500 — Butterflylabs, is it a scam? on: November 12, 2011, 10:42:25 PM
I really, really want to believe this is real. I really do. It would be a real game changer if all the specs are true and the price is also as stated. Why does not BFL allow Inaba or someone else to come in and confirm this is not a scam ? It really boggles the mind, to be honest. Hope this turns out to be true in the end, as the last thing we need in here is more scammers.

Can they be used with a USB hub or something so are they easily stackable ? How many can you deliver per month ? When is the final release and expected availability ?

Maybe this project is just like the OpenPandora thing which had delays of 2 years before finally getting released.
2116  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Gambling Anonymously on: November 12, 2011, 10:06:00 PM
Sure. Just answer me 2 questions :

-how did you know how close the guy was to getting the bitcoins etc. !? what were the 6 steps etc.

-why did you do this ? what was in for you ? nobody does something for nothing.
2117  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS TorrentLeech invite 3BTC each!!! SKYRIM AND MW3 ARE DOWNLOADABLE!! on: November 12, 2011, 09:55:12 PM
Not only selling something that is usually free but also encouraging piracy "SKYRIM AND MW3 ARE DOWNLOADABLE!!".

Good work !
2118  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Gambling Anonymously on: November 12, 2011, 09:44:38 PM
@bulanula why are you so quick to call scam. It was hard but not a scam. I'm looking forward to seeing the final clues too.

The drill is this : most people in this community lost huge amounts of $$$ during the bubble ( $100 by Christmas ring any bells ? ) and they are on - right now. I think 90% are in this position right now. To make up for the loss some of them have turned to scamming others in this community. This is not all a coincidence. mybitcoin, bitcoin 7 etc. moonco.in etc. I think you will agree that there are LOTS of scammers here.

This looks like a typical scam :

-mailinator address
-no email at that address just checked right now
-promotion of crap like bitcoinsforchristmass, bittleships, betforbtc which have no relation at all to the game
-newbie seems to win it and no credentials
-sketchy process not even explained
-easy opportunity for promoting above said websites without paying a dime

Well done ! You fooled us once again, scammers.

Can you at least tell us how ? How do we know you are not just a puppet account of GoWest scammer ? I think this was just an impossible game that is to promote various websites like bitcoinsforchristmas.com, bittleships, betforbtc etc. without any link with getting the 10 BTC price. Been scammed on here, AGAIN. No surprise. Well done scammer !

You gotta be kidding. Not everything is a scam. I have never had any prior interaction with GoWest, but I do religiously follow his blog and I believe he provides a lot of value to the Bitcoin community. Here is the chain that led me to the coins:

I assume everyone found this reddit page, since it was publicly posted here: http://www.reddit.com/r/Money/comments/ly4ut/money_my_wife_thinks_that_shit_is_everywhere/

The comments at the end of it talk about "grave of fireflies, S<Y>D, cloudy mind". A google search led me to:
http://soundcloud.com/s-y-d/tracks

The comment on the first track, called "grave of the fireflies", has a user BTCHint saying "Flat money!". Yes, "flat", not "fiat". Searched on google for "flat money" bitcoin, and found this youtube video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=9LaSrxtWfgc

Latest comment on that video says: "If you go to Arnold Schwarzenegger's email service, then youfoundthecoins."
Arnold Schwarzenegger's email service = mailinator.com (haha, that was a funny one!)
Check mail for the user "youfoundthecoins", it's a link to a bitcoinsforchristmas page, where I could type my address and get the bitcoins!
It looks like this mail has unfortunately been deleted now.

On another note, at least the scammers are getting more creative each and every day. Hopefully the 419ers follow suit and use BTC from now on too !
2119  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Gambling Anonymously on: November 12, 2011, 09:30:47 PM
Is this what you mean? https://imgur.com/I0dJ6

Still don't understand how that will lead us to the 10 BTC !?

How will the winner get this 10 BTC ? GoWest send it directly / manually to his address or what ? Redeem a private key they found on Internet ? Where the moneys at ... LOL ?

It's completely out of my hands.  It will be automated for the person that finds them.

Yes, I think I found them! Watch for a 10 BTC transaction to the address in my sig. Thanks for the fun Saturday morning, GoWest!

Just LOLing at you and your attempts to sell something you get for $0 and trying to sell if for $10. Nice one !

PS : These are usually easy to get for free from friends so that is why nobody is buying them for 3BTC.
