2841  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Paradox of Gambling behavior on: April 29, 2022, 04:38:43 AM
I am not one hundred percent certain that can be the same truth for gambling games. If you were to think about the thrill of winning money, then the game becomes fun, because you like gambling as the game, not the game itself.  So my hypothesis is that all the gambling games are fun for gamblers. Some are just more fun at certain times than others. But I have never seen a gambler who sticks to the same games forever.

At least personally,  I like almost all gambling games.  Roll Eyes
2842  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Australia to ban Pokies on: April 29, 2022, 04:24:07 AM

Now, is that fair ?
Abolish the machines altogether?
Why isn't regulation and monitoring not taken into account?
What do you think ?

I think that not only is that not very fair, I also believe that it is complete and utter nonsense. Why on earth would there be a need to abolish the machines? Is there any kind of actual reasoning behind that seemingly political decision? Thats what I bet it is, all politics. Politicians just want to make themselves look good so they find something or someone to pick on and normal people suffer for it.

Thats just not right.
2843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥2022 Pandemic Popular Items🔥 on: April 29, 2022, 04:17:12 AM
I am not sure why the title "2022 Pandemic Popular Items" has any kind of contextual meaning here? Also you seem to be promoting some new casino (I presume?) and is this your businessplan or a somewhat finished casino?

The minimalist aspect of it is telling me to stay away. Maybe after you have gained some respect and trust I will have to think about changing my mind.
2844  Other / Archival / Re: Why has bitcoin adoption failed in El Salvador? on: April 29, 2022, 04:09:10 AM
Nayib legalized bitcoin as a legal tender but not with its freedom. Instead of teaching its citizens about the basic technicalities of bitcoin, the government introduced the Chivo centralized wallet which meant the population was directed to remain in government control from the start. I had predicted that they would fail that way, and the initial sign was a problematic wallet which was a little frustrating.

THIS exactly this.

Nobody cares about centralized wallets. Why would a leader of a country pretend to understand the benefits of Bitcoin only to go against the very nature of Bitcoin? If I had Bitcoin in El Salvador, then I definitely would not want a wallet which is centralized. Thats just dumb.

Comparing El Salvador Bitcoin legalisation as subjective to the centralized government wallet is not really worth the trouble, as nobody wants to trust the government with their money anyway.
2845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we entering the era of CBDCs? on: April 29, 2022, 01:44:00 AM
Surprisingly enough the Chinese altcoin (digital yuan) seems to be doing fine as they reported a little less than $10 billion worth of transactions recorded on their chain (if we can call it a chain!). There are also at least 2 new ones coming out in the coming months.

Suddenly it seems like the central banks jumped on board of the Bitcoin train but only took the blockchain technology and ran away.

I personally don't care how many of them are created as long as they don't try to ban bitcoin or restrict its adoption in any way (like closing bank accounts of those who dump fiat for bitcoin).
There may even be some silver lining that these CBDCs could replace the stable-coins in the market in the near future and we end up even seeing Atomic Swap capabilities added where you could easily swap one CBDC for another or for bitcoin without the risk of centralized stablecoins (issued by shady companies). That would definitely simplify things for traders while significantly reducing the risks they take.

It doesn't matter. The true use for Blockchain technology is and always will be freedom from the government. With CBDC's the government going to be able to decide what you are allowed to buy, where you are allowed to buy and how you buy.

An absolute nightmare. Which is why Bitcoin will beat the CBDCs to the punch in terms of when it comes to becoming the one and only true global money. No more Oligarchs or shady politicians ruling us.
2846  Economy / Gambling / Re: Online casino. What's the reliability of the technology? on: April 29, 2022, 01:36:13 AM
To what extent is the online  slot game machine RTP reliable based on it's technology?

As words in the street has it that it has gained so much popularity than other casino games due to it's simplicity nature.

Let's discuss, what's your view.

It really should be said that no technology is 100% safe. No matter who does the programming, the code itself is not ever really safe, which is why we have third party people who can do their own audits on the code.

But I do think that a more simplistic nature of game would also include a simplistic code, which is way safer than more complicated code.

But then again I am not part of any team of amazing genius coders that worked on the slot game machine, so my advice is limited.
2847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] George Kambosos vs Devin Haney - Undisputed Lightweight Title - June 5 on: April 28, 2022, 09:49:27 PM
^^ They've seen that they have been criticized after the Manny Pacquiao fight. So I think they will not make the same mistakes in a high boxing match like this because all eyes will be on Australia again.

So it's better for Kambosos to really show that he dominated the fight by all means so that there will be no controversy if he won by a decision in his home court.

The odds in losing the match are definitely going to be infinitely better for Devin Haney. Which is a far better way of saying Haney does not stand a chance against George Kambosos.

The Manny Pacquiao fight was a total disaster, I doubt that they are going to go down that route a second time. I mean it was just a bit too sterile, even for the fans. George Kambosos Jr. said that he is grateful for the time boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has spent with him inside the ring. So no disrespect to legends.

Fight will be interesting.

Haney is favorite in this fight, so he has a good chance to win even if it is going to be held at George Kambosos back yard.

Of course many have pointed out that the Manny fight was really a disaster as it was obvious a homecook decision for their boy. But they have learn their lessons and maybe the camp of Haney knows about this one and probably will not allow it to happen. AFAIK, boxers will also have the final say as who will judge their fight so they have the right to say no to someone who they think that are not going to be fair.

I am not sure which cave you crawled out of but Devin Haney is going to definitely lose big time. That is why I said that "the odds in losing the match are definitely going to be infinitely better for Devin Haney". This means that the odds of Haney going belly up in the fight are higher, therefor, he has bad odds at winning. You might have gotten confused by the meaning, which is ok. Not everybody can understand nuances perfectly.

Haney definitely is also not the favorite in this fight. Everybody seems to be cheering for George Kambosos.

2848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright Proving He’s not Satoshi- AGAIN on: April 28, 2022, 09:42:20 PM
Here’s a recent video where Kitco (a highly respected precious metals dealer) interviews the infamous Dr Craig Wright. I am still absolutely and utterly amazed at how many people legitimately think he’s Satoshi. I’ve watched a lot of videos of Craig, but this is maybe the most lying I’ve ever seen him do, one thing after another.

Let’s see how many lies we can point out and discuss..

https://youtu.be/BnPiH6OLLa0

(Sorry Craig, sue me)

Thanks for making an Anti-CraigWright post. I don't think we even need to look at the video. Craig Wright, who, seems like to me, is nothing but a scam artist with a egomania bigger than that of Elon Musk, is trying his hardest to stay relevant, at least in the world of crypto. Although the ego of Musk and him may be around the same.

Men with giant egos like that sometimes start lying to themselves and they start believing their own lies. But we have had enough evidence in the past about Craig Wright being an absolute knob and he has been caught red handed time and time again.

Its all self-PR.

2849  Economy / Gambling / Re: Btxwar.com new binary site on: April 28, 2022, 09:20:28 PM
Are you the official representative? maybe you can consider improving your ANN thread. Looking at your terms and condition this is what the only thing on it:
Quote
Btxwar.com is a binary site. Its very risky if you don't know how it wokrs,so before doing anykind of financial transction please please be careful cause you can loose all your money here.

There's a lot of typos and improper uses of punctuation, do you think people would trust your website and won't care with the quality of the website? There is also no preview and other information about the website including social media

Yeah, I would definitely have to agree with your prior assessment. The entire site just screams unprofessionality out of every corner. An outside observer would be very wary of a online gambling casino which has that many easy mistakes. It makes the website seem like it was not properly planned/designed. Thats enough reason for me to back out of the whole deal and say no thank you.

I might take a look again if you fix your website up and make it look more professional.
2850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk is for crypto or just for attention to boost Tesla, SpaceX? on: April 28, 2022, 12:47:53 AM
Elon Musk has surrounded himself with people who are much much smarter than him. He himself is no dolt either, so obviously he has understood the potential for crypto. Although I am not sure as to why he would promote Dogecoin. If anything that does make it seem like he is just doing PR with a large audience which he "kidnapped" and made it his own community.

Egomaniac is as egomaniac does.
2851  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How can you verify the randomness that's coming from a hardware? on: April 27, 2022, 10:48:48 PM
Warning: I don't know much from hardware. And when I say much, I mean nothing.

I had created a thread regarding this in the Hardware Wallet section, but I choose to broaden it in the Dev & Tech board. Pretty simple question, but I've come to realize that it's much more difficult to answer than it seems.

When we say that a wallet software is closed source, we're afraid it may have access to our keys via the internet, sell our IP addresses and other info, or simply generate predictable entropy to steal our money in the smoothest way possible. We choose open source, so we can have a peace of mind.

So, how do we verify that the hardware doesn't generate predictable entropy, regardless of whether the wallet developers have bad intentions or not? I don't care about the OS, let's assume you use an open-source one; my focus is on those who build the hardware that is used to generate randomness.

Predictable entropy? Not sure I understand? Like the rate of oxidation on microelectronic metal pins which can mess with the electrical flow in such ways that one could possibly guess which metals were being used in the chip or something and use that info to identify the part?

If predicting entropy is your game then from a physics perspective, that is impossible to tell at a certain tiny point but at a larger scale can be perhaps easier. But never with 100% accuracy.

Although I very much doubt we have the technology to measure the teeny tiny differences, even if you were to make all the hardware parts 99.999999% the same there still would be random noise from tiny differences.

So no, I very much doubt you can verify the randomness accurately.
2852  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the price of Bitcoin still in such a state? on: April 27, 2022, 10:41:18 PM
I see the Bitcoin price struggling to break upwards because of all the bad news, bad news about the Russia-Ukraine war, FUD about Blockchain, countries who go against Bitcoin, countries that fail to keep promises regarding Bitcoin and overall the greed of said countries for more and more regulation.

So basically the price has been going up despite all the bad news. It has been struggling to break through to a new price level though, but thats to be expected when Bitcoin is going up and the Bitcoin price is being driven down at the same time by FUD and bad news.

Once the news grows old, the price will be free to head towards new levels again. 100k Can't wait.

2854  Economy / Gambling / Re: Would you support a collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms? on: April 27, 2022, 12:06:40 AM

I completely agree. If the Russian government lifted the 15-year prison-sentence threat for anyone protesting the war, we would at the very least see half the country rise against Putin.  15 years in a Siberian Gulag is a tough pill to swallow for normal people, so therefore I am not going to betitle those who have been scared into silence as cowards.

The blind hatred towards Russians, especially those living in other countries is disgusting. This is how things escalate towards mass xenophobic genocides. Although we are not quite pushing Russians into gas chambers yet, I still don't like seeing innocent people beat up in the streets or having their cars lit on fire because they spoke russian in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Look at what some countries like Croatia are doing: taking away citizenship from Russians. So what, deport them into a warmongering country that they don't want to live in? Great idea, Croatia. Genius idea.
In today's world most of the people are well aware what are the after affects of the war. Russian are not free to protest but need of the time is to stop implementing force on the weak. On the other hand we daily see Israelis torturing Palestinians and there is no opposing. There is a need for equality and there is a need for tolerance. May we all see the dawn of peace Ameen
Well I still think that the sanctions that have been given to Russia are quite serious and I think they can greatly impoverish the Russian people, if President Putin at least put aside that war they have, things could be improved, I think the war has ended the lives of many people who depend on their businesses, on their clients who are Europeans, Americans, it is not only because of the boycott that can be generated, but the opportunities for people to grow are disintegrating, attacking a business model that has become Wherever it comes from it will bring consequences, the biggest and what hurts the most is that many people are left without a livelihood.

Although I believe sanctions on online services may not stick, I am still 100% ok with them.

Sanctions are indeed a weapon. The sanctions on North Korea had people starving to death, so I am thinking that this is going to do more damage than people realize.  But we can't let dictators do as they want in this world. Putin is the Zar of oligarchs. Not the Zar of Russia.

The world is now dealing with a cornered and scared dictator. Where in the world can he hide now? Now the entire world knows he is a criminal thug and has never been anything more.

The Soviet Union's collapse made the worst crooks the leaders of countries by law of violence and corruption. Look at Kazachstan, same deal. Crooks in power, stealing Billions from their own people.

2855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where does your country stand ? on: April 26, 2022, 11:53:07 PM
I was sitting and wondering which countries might have the highest gambling rates and for me I thought it could be UK or the US but despite this I went on the web to do a rescarch on which countries gamble the most. Let's have a look at this, since this information might be interesting to you guys as well !

1. Australia
2. Singapore ( they only opened their first casino in 2010!)
3. Ireland
4. Canada
5. Finland
6. Italy
7. Hong Kong
8. Norway
9. Greece
10. Spain !!

I was just as surprised as you guys since I did expect other countries to show up here as well instead of the ones that already did but you can recheck the same on the source : https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.worldatlas.com/amp/articles/countries-that-gamble-the-most.html
Other than that US , Canada,. Japan , UK are few of the countries known for their absolute support of the crypto casinos as well.
What about your country as well ??

Not surprising about Singapore. They have a very lax crypto regulation and a of course, being known as a tax haven. I would imagine they also go easy on online gambling casinos. Although Hong Kong is very surprising to me. I would think they would share China's stance on gambling. In other words, it is illegal in China so one could be made to think that China would exert influence on Hong Kong to go the same routes as them. Although it feels like I am missing something?

Not much of a politics guy.
2856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First African country adopts Bitcoin as official currency on: April 26, 2022, 04:44:42 PM
Are we witnessing only the beginning of bitcoin's adoption as legal tender around the world? What would the world be like if more developing countries and 3rd world countries adopt bitcoin and begin trading each other using bitcoin? Everyone knows I am a skeptic and have speculated these countries accepting bitcoin as legal tender are only doing it for publicity. However, I am presently not certain of this anymore hehe.

The Central African Republic has become the first country in Africa to adopt Bitcoin as a payment currency. In a worldwide first, the National Assembly unanimously adopted the bill to help put the country’s plan for economic recovery and peacebuilding on track.

The minister of digital economy, post services and telecommunications, Gourna Zacko, and the minister of finance and budget, Calixte Nganongo, initiated and submitted the draft law establishing both the legal framework for cryptocurrency regulation and Bitcoin as an official currency in the Central African Republic.

Read in full https://forbes.mc/article/first-african-country-adopt-bitcoin-legal-currency-central-african-republic

I very much doubt that any country would adopt Bitcoin just for publicity. Although the publicity it comes with is definitely a bonus for the country, albeit something not that without its critics, I think the point that needs to be made here is that Bitcoin is being adopted by countries nowadays. Thats not something thats happened before last year, September. This is a mass adoption of Bitcoin on a global scale. Get ready or stay coinless.

If anything has taught me in the past, its that we have to trust Bitcoin. I got my Bitcoin bags ready and waiting for liftoff.  Grin Grin And frankly I don't care if you get left behind.
2857  Economy / Economics / Re: Does anyone care about the environment? on: April 25, 2022, 09:46:56 PM
My opinion as a physicist:

Look, I understand when people say "I do not trust science". I realize that most people do not spend 10+ years studying some niche subject after leaving high school. To them I say please understand that you do not comprehend how big the problem actually is. And your opinion about a certain subject after a few hours of google searching is not worth 1/1 million'th of the opinion of someone who has made it his life's work to study that subject.

When a climate scientist talks, be quiet and we listen carefully. You know what climate crisis is? Its a fight for survival. A fight to keep the planet sustaining life a little longer.
Everything in this world, all of nature, is in a very delicate balance between life and death. Its a miracle that this planet can even sustain life.

Even the smallest change can end life on earth. For example, no ozone layer to shield from radiation? Without ozone sucking up the sun's more dangerous radiation, guess who gets to soak up all the radiation instead? YOU. A deadly sunburn. Nuclear apocalypse would have the same end result with the only difference being the source of deadly radiation. But we have finally gotten a grip on the ozone depletion problem before the problem became irreversable and now the Ozone Layer is healing. Great job, guys. Apocalypse averted.

But there are more problems and other dangers! But people are more concerned about short term quality of life for themselves. They don't care about prolonging life beyond their own.

As I understand it, if the destruction of the environment progresses to the tipping point (which is soon) then the damage will become permanent. The human race will be headed towards a certain dead end and our planet becomes lifeless like mars. I understand the very thought of the extinction apocalypse is so terrifying that people block out the bad thoughts and rather say "we still have x amount of years left to solve the problem."

But we have come to the point where we do not have time left to make a choice. A choice between continued life or a dead planet. There is no Planet B. Earth is all we got.

We need to reverse the damage we have done to our planet and BOYCOTT BIG OIL AND INVEST IN GREEN TECH RIGHT NOW. Or the future is screwed. We all return to dust.

And who knows, green tech might make you a pretty profit.
2858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is it bad to leave crypto on exchanges? on: April 25, 2022, 09:40:54 PM
Being in this industry for years, I am telling you, don't keep majority of your funds in an exchange for too long, or at least spread it out on several exchanges if you are fond of staking and yield farming. Not that it doesn't exist in other platforms but considering that it may be easy for you to do these things on an exchange, I understand. I don't have to tell you the countless number of horror stories of several people all over the years that kept funds on exchanges long term. Just a little googling and you'd see what you are looking for, while the causes and effects for each story may differ from one another, they have one thing in common; the root of the problem is keeping fund in an exchange.

If you have been in this industry for years you will remember Mt. Gox and all the other exchanges that fell prey to hackers and bugs and the such. Of course, due to the semi anonymous nature of most crypto, this money can be traced for you in some cases and in other cases, if you did KYC with the exchange, it can be attributed to you and Mt. Gox has no choice from a legal standing other than to reimburse you.

But this has two problems. You are trusting someone else to hold your money. If something happens you might be stuck waiting years and finding special lawyers to get your money back.

The entire point of crypto is to be the sole person who has access to your money.

Not your keys not your coins.

Putin: Sanctions can't hurt my mighty Russian military.

Russian Military, which had its funds stolen and equipment/weapons secretly sold off by Russian oligarchs over the decades:

Putin after realizing he does not have the power to create a new Soviet Union and a long table will no longer protect him from assassination by his own pissed-off generals:

Jokes aside, We need to put the Russian Oligarchs as well as Putin at a Nuernberg 2.0 Trial once this is over. The men manning the nuclear missles have heros like Stanislav Petrov in their ranks. Petrov, who disobeyed orders and saved the world from nuclear war. I doubt Russians will let Putin end the world. Russia needs to become a free democracy like Germany after WW2. Maybe the western world will even prop Russia up, like they did for Germany.  Their people will thank them in a few decades.

One might already understand that winning at Gambling is hard but at the end of the day we still see a lot of people increasingly interested in Gambling, this might provide an insight into the casino business and at the same time help explore the ideas 💡 in the mind of a Gambler.

One might be aware of the fact that even though the Gambler knows that he is loosing money they measure the gambling to be an effective usage of that money, a leisure activity to begin with therefore it's more concerned with the activity-than winning an idea that some problem gamblers ignore.

Source :here

In roulette type games more than 95% of the amount is usually back to the player but when we talk about lotteries it goes way below 50% which is explained by the lower levels of winners and winning as a whole despite that lottery is some of the biggest revenue collector for the government. The players usually focuses not on winning big, but most of the time the short increase of dopamine makes their money worth it ( ofc if used in moderation)

What do you think is the best game/ sports to gamble on ? Do you do it for winning? Are the ideas in the article according to you correct? How many times you usually win in a game of chance+skills?

I think the very act of gambling seems to be deeply ingrained into our biology. Whenever we take a risk and win, we get a huge surge of dopamine and endorphins (maybe? I am no biologist) and we need that. Thats why we can't stop followin our desires. Why fat people can't stop eating food and why we always are seeking "happiness". Basically just a brain chemical cocktail that makes the brain crave more and more of whatever you do that creates that brain cocktail.

So basically, gambling is trading money for a momentary moment of happiness and thrill. People pay money for paragliding and bungeeing off bridges for the same reason, really.

The poor saps who think they can make a career out of it are the true losers here.
