1841  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Using Bonus Buy or Not Using Bonus Buy? on: December 12, 2022, 09:04:07 PM
Reading the other replies in this thread, some people seem to agree that bonus buys might be kind of an illusion, it would seem. A Fata Morgana of the gambling world. Obviously you could just bet more money in the first place and you would also win more money, so what is the point of a bonus buy other than marketing purposes and enticing you to bet more than you would have in the first place? I think in cases where bonus buys actually bring you in more money then there must be mathematical proof for that.

Hard to do when everything relies on slight differences in probabilities.  Roll Eyes
1842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Destroy Crap Altcoins? on: December 12, 2022, 07:32:05 PM
There is absolutely no need for Bitcoin to destroy the altcoins. Altcoins are altcoins and Bitcoin is Bitcoin. Lets not compare apples to bananas here.

Bitcoin has been the king of "crypto" ever since day one and that has not changed, throughout all these years. You should view Bitcoin as something which is separate from Altcoins. Each of them is different in their nature. It would be better to not even compare the two.

But also, lets not call all crypto a scam. DeFi is quite useful, as long as you know what you are doing and avoid the known traps.

Bitcoin and alts can co-exist with each other. They are catering different purposes

Well yes, if you actually read my post you would notice that is exactly my point. So them serving different purposes, although they are based on roughly the same technological concept of blockchain, is the main reason why comparing Bitcoins with altcoins has absolutely not point whatsoever.

In fact, I even mentioned in my previous post that DeFi is a very promising area of altcoins. So obviously I am not against all altcoins. But Bitcoin is Bitcoin and altcoins are altcoins (crypto). Meaning that no single altcoin will be able to overcome Bitcoin as #1. Because they are two different things.
1843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: December 09, 2022, 05:06:02 PM
I do not believe that using an AI for prediction of gambling or sporting events is a good idea. Not only does it take away all the fun of gambling from you but it will not give you the result you are looking for. Why? Because there are too many variables and predicting an outcome is technically impossible. Even if you were to use an artificial intelligence.

And since when have we started thinking that our current, modern AI technology is anywhere near ready enough to compete with the human mind? Sure it can calculate faster but so can an ordinary windows 98 computer from the 90s. I am not satisfied enough with AI progress to trust it with my money.
1844  Economy / Gambling / Re: A way to attract new users or a misunderstanding? on: December 09, 2022, 04:00:50 PM
Is web 3 a misunderstanding word for some gambling crypto projects? I've come across few gambling / crypto projects that claimed to be a web 3.0 online casino and other but they still ask for KYC.

The definition of web 3.0 had everything to do with decentralization, block chain technology and token based economics as per what Wikipedia illustrated so why is identity/ verification integrated?

Is this just a misunderstanding of what web 3 actually is? Or it's a way to attract people/users to make them think that their platform is more advanced?.

Web 3 is the next generation decentralized internet. Although I would be very careful around anyone using the term to promote their own business. Most of the time they are just trying to sleezily advertise their platform but their platform is something which has to do with the current web 3 hype. But the reality of the situation is that most of these projects have absolutely nothing or only something minimal to do with web 3. It is always best to do your own research and have a bit of a technical background so that you know when somebody is trying to dupe you with hype-words.
1845  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Quantum physics on: December 09, 2022, 03:55:06 AM
nope that is not what the schrodinger's cat experiment was trying to explain
That's not the experiment I was referring to, those who believe that universe accidentally came to existence say that if you put an apple in a box, atoms of the apple rearrange so many times that eventually they get back together and form a fresh apple if you wait long enough.

It would seem to me that he is talking about Poincare Recurrence. Basically a physical concept of "If you made a monkey type on a keyboard for an infinite amount of time, at some point in time, the monkey would coincidentally type out any book that has ever been written." Except in this case, with conservative entropy systems returning to the initial state. Billions of years are not anywhere long enough to achieve this.

Here is a good read on the Poincare Recurrence: https://physics.stackexchange.com/questions/94122/is-poincare-recurrence-relevant-to-our-universe

1847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proof Of Income Will This Pass on: December 08, 2022, 09:02:18 PM
Ok, suddenly the casino you're playing asks you for proof of income to be able to withdraw your winnings and to keep your account in good standing, your bankroll every month is $500 and you provide proof of salary that you are making $500 net every month, will they accept that proof will they accept that you are putting all your salary for gambling, will this violate the principle of gamble for fun, because you are working to gamble based on your proof income.

You provided proof that you have a legitimate source of income worth $500. That was all they asked for, and all the proof of salary they need. As long as they do not have evidence that that money came from laundering or drug dealing, terrorism or etc., then you are ok. The casino will not have legal grounds on taking your money or freezing your withdrawals.

That being said, I would rather stay away from a casino that demands such in-depth, personal documents. A good casino would have to have a very large amount of distrust in one of their gamblers to ask for such documents. If they imposed such a degrading interrogation on everyone, they would lose their user base really quickly...
1848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins future is Bright on: December 08, 2022, 03:29:36 PM
The dips, dumps and pumps are all just part of the volatility of Bitcoin, as long as Bitcoin has not been adopted fully yet. But as you said, it is only a temporary phenomenon which will resolve itself without doubt. It is not happening for the first time and not for the last time. This is engrained deeply in the very nature of Bitcoin itself. Thats why I hodl and trust Bitcoin. Cheesy
Price volatility is a dynamic for bitcoin, and it's important because that's the only way traders and investors make profits. I can't imagine bitcoin being a stable asset in the future even if adoption becomes widespread, and I don't think that stability will be with bitcoin but its volatility is very likely to decrease.

Price volatility cannot be eliminated in bitcoin because bitcoin is a decentralized asset. No one can control the price in the market but manipulation is possible by those with strong financial power. But that's not a problem for bitcoin as a whole because bitcoin is basically freedom.

Well, I did not mean that Bitcoin would become a stable coin or something. Bitcoin becomes more valuable over time.

What I meant in my previous post is that the dips and pumps are not going to be as gigantic in the future as they are now. At least, no more 46% candles on the monthly chart. Once every Bitcoin has been mined, of course traders will still trade Bitcoin and make a profit. But in the far future I think more like profits of 4-5% per month. Not like now.

Altcoins will definitely pump and dump 100x. But, just like with any business investment: DYOR!

Most new coins/tokens (like 98%) are complete horse shit.

I agree with OP. Whatever is happening with BTC now, it is only a temporary phenomenon. In any case, its key idea will live, expand and develop.

The dips, dumps and pumps are all just part of the volatility of Bitcoin, as long as Bitcoin has not been adopted fully yet. 1851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much initial startup to Start Cryptocurrency Casino? on: December 07, 2022, 10:10:35 PM
Hi guys I wanted to ask some of big family members who have experience in crypto and also in gambling. But my experience is not good in gambling.
If someone wants to start a Gambling casino online with Cryptocurrency than how much money is needed. I think that 100k dollars initial capital would be enough to satrt a better casino. Cause we have to promote and also do other such promotions.
So what are your thoughts?

I think you might be asking the wrong question. Instead of asking how much initial funding is required for Cryptocurrency Casino startups, you should be asking yourself how much funding is required to create a professional online crypto casino.

I think you would need an entire team first. Marketing, Legal, Development, etc.

That alone will set you back at least 100k per year. Then there are various costs like the regulatory fees, code audits and whatnot.

You could buy finished code and create another clone of some popular gambling website. But then you would just be another copycat that nobody is interested in.

Basically you should have at least 150-200k USD if you want to create something new, original and exciting.
1852  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Small Scale Businesses should accept Cryptocurrencies as a medium of payment on: December 07, 2022, 07:35:03 PM
I think giving your customers/clients more payment options is definitely something that will help you make a sale, whether its a small scale business or a large scale business, does not really matter. You could also procure more clients by using crypto as a marketing gimmick, just to get people more interested in what you have to sell.

The best option would be if you had an online platform and an online presence with a considerable amount of loyal followers. But even if you hang up a "We accept Bitcoin here" sign on your physical store, you will be getting interested looks, either way.
1853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gates of olympus on: December 07, 2022, 07:13:33 PM
Gates of Olympus, also known as Grandpa Zeus slots or Olympus slots, is a slot game released by Pragmatic Play that is the most popular in my country. Grandpa Zeus slots are one of the most popular games released by Pragmatic Play. This game with the theme of Greek gods and goddesses, especially the god Zeus, has very charming graphics. If you try the Olympus game as the main online game, there are many things you should know.
1. Symbol: The shape of the symbol that will appear in the Olympus slot Amount
2. Symbol: The number of symbols that must appear in one turn of the duck slot to get a win
3. Multiples of Winning: The number of multiples of the bet used that you will win my question here

1 Do you have games like in my country in your country

2, is this game easier than what I imagined?

Well seems a bit strange to answer either of those badly formulated questions but I will try as hard as I can.

1. I am not sure which country you are in, as you have not specified but I can tell you that we definitely have such games everywhere in the internet. As far as actual physical casinos having that game, the likelyhood is very high since its a slot game and slot games are legal and popular with the population, where I live.

2. You never told us how easy or hard you imagined this game, exactly. So answering that question might be a bit difficult. But how hard could it be? Its a slot game, they are usually all functional in the same way more or less.
1854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Which Crypto would you like to see more in Online Casinos? on: December 07, 2022, 01:07:42 AM
Honestly, if a centralized, custodial online gambling casino wishes to hold Cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin or stable-coins, then I find it completely unnecessary. Decentralized gambling. Thats where we need to be looking when discussing altcoins.

Altcoins are quite volatile. One way or another, the casino is at risk. Should something bad happen to the altcoins, this will reflect poorly on the casino profit. The first and best choice of casino should be one with their own stable coin/token. One that cannot be frozen or taken away. Something you could hold in your own wallet, instead of having to put into a third party wallet which could be taken away from you at any time.  The underlying market value could be consolidated by algorithmic injection/ejection of Bitcoin.

This way, the casino is ultimately not in control of the funds. Legally, this might take some responsibility off the casino owners and remove the paranoia of people who dislike storing their funds on a centralized (gambling) platform.

Fell asleep watching this boring Brazil match and had a nightmare BTC crashed to below $7000.

Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I had the same dream. Bitcoin price fell to under a few dollars for a few minutes. The dream quickly became a nightmare when I tried to buy the dip but my internet kept failing, my password kept getting rejected and my computer kept lagging. And as I kept trying to press the buy button, Bitcoin shot 70k, 80k, 90k and over 100k. I had no chance of buying.  Cry

yes, it appears to be...a bit scary.

Portugal (sans Ronaldo) looks great..a title contender now.
Still great shot (offside) near the end. He may just be warming up for the semi/final, to score a few decisive goals.

1856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will not become the world currency. on: December 06, 2022, 06:27:21 PM
I have been following the attitude of governments towards bitcoin and hope it will be promoted.

Stopped reading after this part. Are you serious? Of course the government is doing all it can to remain in control of currency. Especially when it comes to surveillance. Bitcoin was created because its not supposed to be part of the governments money scheme. Its something completely in a different system. Its decentralized and public. But also can be anonymous and impossible to trace to a person, if you know your way around erasing your tracks.

So why would anyone want to get rid of their freedom and listen to what the government promotes?  HuhRoll Eyes
1857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One Month of Accepting Bitcoin for Payment on: December 06, 2022, 05:36:59 PM
congrats on your Bitcoin furniture selling business! I am sure you will be a big time furniture dealer with multiple stores in the near future!

That being said, I recommend using a wallet like Electrum, if you are accepting Bitcoin. Its just a better and safer wallet than Trust Wallet. Especially if you plan on storing your Bitcoin for long amounts of time (in other words, hodling). The best option would be a hardware wallet, though. Thats the safest wallet.

Since you accept Altcoins, you could even think about adding more payment options, since some of your customers might rather want to pay with SOL, for example.
1858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unwarranted ECB claims about BTCs "last stand" on: December 05, 2022, 08:55:32 PM
Hi crypto fam.

So the ECB is making some strange claims that this is Bitcoin's "last stand before the road to irrelevance," citing that BTC is down 77% from its last all-time high. How can this be true when everything that's been going around since the launch of BTC just goes against that claim?

So, to summarize, the ECB is essentially asserting that Bitcoin's end is drawing near. But it seems like the ECB's assertion is... unjustified if we consider the reasoning they've provided, as well as the present problems with Bitcoin.

AND, if you look at Bitcoin's history, it has also had some bumps in the road (2014 and 2018), but Bitcoin has had massive returns to offset these bearish years.

Do you think this bear cycle will be more severe than previous ones? What are your thoughts about these claims?

I'm just out here wondering on what basis they're making such assumptions.

As always, someone always is trying to "kill Bitcoin". Again.

No matter how many articles like this come out and no matter who is speaking against Bitcoin. They have not been able to succeed and they will never succeed. All they do is fight against the waves of the future.

I have seen articles like this everyday for the last decade. Not a single one could predict that Bitcoin would grow to over 60k.

Time to stop listening to the doomsayers.
1859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: December 05, 2022, 06:33:34 PM
Also, if it is not a luck based game, how would a casino integrate it into their online games? They would need to either buy a game built based on an algorithmic way to ensure that nobody can cheat by figuring out the algorithm.
If you never knew, the cock fighting is equally a luck base game, as in most cases is not always the biggest cock who wins a fight, just as in our normal MMA fighting, which requires skills, basic experience and more exposure to other cock for fighting will determine if a cock might either win or lose a fight during the main gambling fight.
And this game can be integrated into a programmable form into online gambling

Luck is a factor in everything, but compared to purely luck-based games, cock fighting is definitely not one of them. It can be compared to MMA fighting, you are right, but the big difference is that MMA fighters voluntarily take part in the event, while roosters are basically forced to participate.

Cock fighting is not a luck based game, rather I will call it a game that cruel people love to play and bet on it.  Sad

If you ask me, I will never be able to even watch this bloody game. How do people get amusement seeing these cock fight games? Also, can people sleep if they have won money on gambling on the blood of cocks.

I agree. It is quite a unnecessarily cruel game and I would not think that any regular western person would wish to play such a game. Our morals are quite different, which is why I believe that cock-fighting games are more popular out of cultural reasons than just some people being cruel for the sake of enjoyment. Although people can be very cruel indeed, so there may be people who enjoy watching animals suffer .

But we are talking about the virtual version of this game in this thread. So cruelty free, 100%. Unless the game develops consciousness.  Shocked
1860  Economy / Gambling / Re: What else should an established crypto casino add? on: December 04, 2022, 08:22:33 PM
Hello Bitcointalk community,

TrustDice team here. As we continually improve our platform, we think it is crucial that we also seek some genuine inputs from Bitcointalk community, so we can better involve you all in this creation process and better cater to your needs. This fits what Blockchain truly stands for!

What extra do you expect from a (somewhat established) crypto casino? A few aspects we can think of include:
- More crypto original games. Minesweeper and plinko, so we've heard, are getting trendy. Any more thoughts and would these interest you?
- More cryptos accepted as payment options. We currently support BTC, ETH, EOS, USDT and USDC. More has been requested - but will it make depositing easier for you? And which cryptos should we add, in your opinion?
- Additional features for our chat room?
And feel free to tell us anything else you really want!

Just in case anyone isn't familiar, we launched in 2018 and have since become one of the longest standing names in this fiercely competitive industry. All of the games we offer—Crash, Dice, 6000+ casino and live casino games, sports betting, and esports betting—are powered by cryptos.

Thank you for reading this post, and thank you all for being part of our journey!

TrustDice Team

Update:
As frequently asked by many on this thread, we do have a bonus exclusively for Bitcointalk forum members. Click here to find out!

I have yet to try out Trustdice but I can think of a few improvements for any serious casino platform. Especially if they are serious about community management and quality control, as I assume that you are.

Maybe you could add some games which are an exact mirror copy of the original games but these will only be "practice" or "tutorial" games. That way newbies would be able to understand how the game works and develop their strategies and skills without worrying about losing real money?

Also, perhaps revise your user experience design? I have found it quite difficult to navigate many casinos during the newbie stages of gambling, because of bad user experience design of the website itself.
