2221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are people doing except holding Bitcoin? on: September 16, 2022, 08:57:32 PM

But what are rich Bitcoin people and aspiring rich Bitcoin people doing else except Bitcoin?
Let’s collect some facts!

- Owning a large house and a pool
- Large glass front in direction of your pool
- Watering your large garden extensively
- Your garden is always in top style

- Living in a mediterranean climate zone (or similar warm areas, like California (or Florida))
- If you don’t own a large house and a pool, you are living on a rooftop (including a pool)
- Advocating for a free market
- Owning an American Flag (‘Murica!) and supporting it
- Good dining every week
- Lambooo
- Your car has a HODL! plate
- Owning a separate room for observing Bitcoin (TA)
- Owning multiple large screens to observe Bitcoin

- Owning or renting a yacht
- Posting Memes on WO

Some facts are only applying to rich people and not aspiring people.

Surely, my list isn’t complete. You can always add a comment and present more facts.
Have fun getting rich!

 Smiley

Ironically, you do not actually need to be rich to do 11 out of the 15 things that you mentioned in your list. I highlighted those things in bold letters, just to show you. Shocked Roll Eyes

Having fun is just living. You do not need a lambo or a big house or a yacht to have fun. I am pretty sure lots of non-rich people can rent a yacht though. Even if just for a few hours. But what a waste of money that would be to most of normal people... A yacht or a lambo is really just a status symbol for showing off. Basically showing off is the one activity people who are not rich cannot afford.

And anyone not eating good food everyday is not really living. They are voluntarily struggling (unless they are very very poor, in that case, its understandable).

2222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: In your opinion is this the end for Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency? on: September 16, 2022, 08:44:04 PM
I have to say, I am quite proud of you guys. Not a single answer other than a big "NO". I think that perhaps the OP is a bit new at cryptocurrency, despite his aged account and might be feeling very nervous due to the current dip, aka "correction". So I do hope that the poll provided you some relief, after seeing how strong our assurance is about Bitcoin and generally, most cryptocurrency. Although personally, I would leave out the cryptocurrency part and just go for Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a sure thing, every other crypto... Not so much.

You should be prepared for scary sell-offs in the crypto world. The price volatility is amazingly high and can make you dizzy. Most important thing is not to panic, keep your wits about you and step away from the keyboard. Just hodl. Really, thats the best advice anyone can give you.
2223  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is Coin Flashing and Its Real use case on: September 16, 2022, 08:33:45 PM
Going by the very fact that nobody in the Bitcointalk community actually knows what "coin flashing" actually is, I would wager to think that it is not actually anything. Either you misunderstood something that someone told you or somebody is trying to lie or scam you out of your money. I myself have never heard of "coin flashing" either and I have been trading for a long time, so there are not many terms about trading that I am unfamiliar with.

But if you asked me to use my imagination and describe it as best as I could, I would have to guess that coin flashing sounds either like something that market makers do in high frequency trading or something that resembles making coin origins untraceable. Like coinmixing or something.

But as I said, it probably does not exist.
2224  Economy / Gambling / Re: Chipstars - Hybrid Casino (Crypto & Fiat) on: September 16, 2022, 08:20:50 PM
Alright so after an initial look at the hybrid casino "chipstars", I can say that the User Experience Design is not too shabby. I am even a bit impressed if this is not some copy paste website which was only slightly modified to make it look somewhat original. From what I can tell, thats not the case here. Furthermore the website does not try to hide anything of importance like legal texts or KYC requirement issues.

What I am having troubles with is the fact that Chipstars claims to be a community-based casino but when I look on your Twitter, I see almost 2k followers but almost no engagements with your social media posts. This leads me to believe the followers are just there for padding the account and making it look like you have a bigger community than you really do. If that is the case then it feels disingenuous to me.
2225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some of the legalities behind hosting an offshore casino? on: September 16, 2022, 03:45:35 PM
How does one who lives in a gambling restricted country legally get around owning an online casino that features provably fair mechanics? Are there things that most don't know when stepping into the business?

Thank you, all.

I would have to agree with the previous posters on this issue. There are a lot of risks and avoiding issues will be very hard, as you would be operating illegally. You would have to offer your services in a shady, secretive way, like through the darkweb or something. And in the end, the probability of you getting caught is extremely high. So there really is no point. You should just look into finding a grey area. For example, what is and is not considered "gambling" and how can you offer gambling-type services while remaining in the legal area?

In my country, for example, skill-based gambling is not really considered gambling and you would have no problem offering such services. Maybe you can find a loophole for your own country? I recommend asking the people of your own country. We have local boards, perhaps you can ask there?
2226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When betting becomes to high on: September 16, 2022, 02:21:26 PM
Have you ever had an experience betting in which you knew that you were going over the limits of you finances and still continued? I have one playing a game, it was absorbing plenty of my time and despite me knowing it, I was kind of hooked on it. It was not a financial problem, but left me wondering how easy is to actually fall into a bad habit and how difficult is to break it.

I would wager to think that thats a human experience that everyone has gone through. A very unpleasant way to rediscover your own weaknesses but I cannot think of a single gambler in this community who has not had the displeasure of going through their funds, more than they expected when they started the day.

Its fine. Everyone is only human. Live and learn.

If anything, it serves as a more or less slightly painful lesson not to do it again. I would think that I am a more careful gambling enthusiast because of stupid mistakes like that. At some point you see the money losses as "lesson fees".  Grin

You can always come here to vent, though Tongue
2227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casino Stake.com sued for $400 million on: September 15, 2022, 06:25:10 PM
I really doubt that there is any need to panic. Although for the time being, getting your funds out of stake.com would probably be a very smart bet. There are other good online gambling casinos to play on during this whole fiasco.

Although that being said, I think anyone can sue anyone for anything and demand any kind of sum. That does not make it a fact that stake.com has already lost. In fact, this could and probably might turn out to be complete hot air. Or as some people would say, a "nothing burger".

400 Million in damages in nothing to scoff at. Depending on the outcome of the lawsuit and the current financial stake of stake.com, things might go downhill really fast. Anyway, personally I will keep away and wait to see what happens.
The reputation of stake.com is now starting to be compromised because regardless of the outcome of lawsuit, people will already have their advanced thinking about this casino like putting their funds here will not be safe at all. Although I believed that long time users of stake.com might still be sticking on it but newbies will definitely develop fear about this case.

I do not think that the lawsuit will compromise the reputation of stake.  This case doesn't even involve a player or scamming a player of their money.  So definitely the case does not affect the relation of Stake and its player.  Besides, the statement of the complainant is far from being justified because the complainant doesn't have enough proof that he was "discouraged" by the owner of Stake.

Still, they cannot take away the chances that Stake.com will somehow lose some clients because of the issue they are currently facing. Their reputations are still at stake in this lawsuit even though there's no scamming of clients involved, we already know that it's never been good for the face of the company to face a lawsuit especially if the plaintiff is a former partner of the said company.

I do hope that after the lawsuit has been thrown out of the window (as it should be), the so-called partner who brought the whole thing into being gets counter sued for defamation. Because this definitely will have a bad effect on Stake.com and they definitely will lose a considerable amount of users. Especially because, as already mentioned by you, the plaintiff is a former partner and by making such claims, he is, from my non-lawyer perspective, very probably engaging in libel/slander.

And honestly, I do not think I would let that go, if it were my company.

On the first day of the Eth merge, Ethereum has already proven why Bitcoin should never switch to POS:

Two Ethereum addresses run up to 45.18% of all nodes post-Merge. source: https://coingape.com/ethereum-merge-concerns/

2229  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is this Gambling Bot real or fake? on: September 15, 2022, 02:21:01 PM
Hello,

I was looking for a dice gambling bot and found one. Its called ncttechnology. But arent sure if I can trust this. Found nothing about it on google.
Does anyone of you know this script/bot. Is it real or scam?

Greetings, Getschilm

I do not understand why you would want to leave your funds to be gambled away by a "betting bot". Is the purpose of gambling not to do it yourself? Thats the whole point, have fun and maybe win money! At least, that is what the concept of gambling is to me, in my own subjective view of gambling.

And anyway, gambling is luck-based. So how would any kind of algorithmic script/code make any kind of sense? Are you hoping the bot will be able to find some kind of way to exploit bets to win you profit? If so, then that sounds like a red flag and scam to me. I would never pay even 1 cent for any gambling bots.

So basically, gambling bots are 100% fake. Don't waste your money.
2230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS DEAD! on: September 15, 2022, 01:51:53 PM
The energy problem is not a bitcoin problem, Faketoshi.

You might not be able to understand this just like you cannot understand the difference between shitcoins and Bitcoin. So let me help you out a little:

Yes, energy consumption is a problem for the environment. And yes, POW consumes a lot of energy. But that does not mean that Bitcoin is at fault just because it consumes a lot of electricity, it just means that we need to stop licking the shoes of big oil and switch to green energies. (Yes, green energy would more than easily provide for the worlds energy needs, if fully implemented).

But the oil/gas lobbyists do not want that. They influence politics to keep the pockets of influencial politicians filled with their lobbyist bribe money. Does this seem right to you?

So anyone blaming Bitcoin is not looking at the bigger picture here. They just want to point fingers without solving the real problem.

At some point in time, we will be forced to make the switch to 100% green energy. And at that point, the POW energy consumption problem will disappear.

2232  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: September 14, 2022, 01:20:38 PM
I tried to reregister an account after I lost my account on FortuneJack. But this time, the verification email does not arrive in my email. I hope this is just about a delay and there is nothing to worry about as the email will come soon. But if in the next moment or until 1 hour, there is no email verification from FortuneJack, perhaps, there is a problem with the mail server. I tried refresh the Inbox and Spam folder many times but still no email verification.

According to the FJ Terms and Conditions, you are not allowed to register more than one account on the platform:

2.5. You are allowed to register only one Account. Registering and operating multiple Accounts (more than one) is strictly prohibited.

It would be best if you try to recover your old account, with the help of customer support, since you risk having your new account blocked, terminated, and your money confiscated. Always read the terms of service and ask customer support for advice if you are in doubt, especially when your money is at stake.

In my own experience, Fortunejack tends to solve any problems adequately but you should not expect instant E-Mails. They need to look through your claim and find a solution that will be alright for both parties. I would also advise against rash decisions like making another account so soon. Better to wait for feedback from Fortunejack and if need be, ask them if its alright to make another account, because their rules say only 1 account per person.

I think its important to read all the rules before making an account on any reputable online gambling casino. Fortunejack is well within its rights to set these rules and enforce them, otherwise things would become chaotic very quickly. Both for the Fortunejack owners and the players.
2233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why isnt there a BTC browser wallet like Metamask on: September 14, 2022, 12:37:49 PM
The only reason web wallets exist is for personal convenience. Which, of course, is a horrible trade-off for security but people are lazy like that. I guess 10 seconds of downloading a wallet is too much work for them. Or perhaps if something happens they want to have someone to blame other than themselves? Of course nobody will be there to help them, so I guess its the illusion of customer service that they prefer? Roll Eyes

Electrum is the best wallet so far, in my thinking.

And of course its decentralized, like every other wallet. So making a web version would not make sense anyway. If you have internet, you can download the wallet. Just hope that the site you download from has not been compromised.
2234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC dumps on high inflation report.. on: September 14, 2022, 12:24:19 PM
In the short term I think its mostly a dump affected by the FUD. People were expecting for Bitcoin to dump along with their other investments because they do not really understand Bitcoin is a hedge against inflation. Although its not an instant hedge against inflation. If the markets are falling people expect their money to be safe in the form of traditional currency. Of course, that is a huge mistake from my perspective but again, its a superficial dump. Long term, or even in the near future, we will definitely see a pump for this very same reason. It just takes a bit longer. Thats totally fine by me. I will buy up the cheap Bitcoin and patiently wait.

2235  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 13, 2022, 10:49:34 PM
I have problems with this thing on Twitter that keeps me wanting to stack. Quite the Bitcoin community over there.
Which of the communities do you love the most, the community on twitter or the community here on bitcointalk? Smiley

I can answer that for him. Obviously here, where our Bitcoin family was created and will remain, even when Bitcoin finally becomes the global money.

In other news; down is the new up. Whats the FUD pushing the price down this time?
2236  Economy / Speculation / Re: Purchased at $23,500, when should I start to panic? When should I average down? on: September 13, 2022, 10:46:05 PM
I think I made a mistake buying at $23,500 (obviously), so when should I really start to panic now that we dropped to $18K?

At what price point now should I consider to add more to average in at? Like, if you owned a bitcoin at $23,500, would you wait for $10K or 15K to start adding more to average in your high price of $23,500?

Panic is the worst thing you can do right now. I would recommend not letting your emotions into ruling your investment decisions. If you want to buy more, thats your decision but it has to be a decision based on the long term expectation of the BTC price. Are you hoping to see 100k? In that case a 23k entry point is quite a nice steal. Anything below that is obviously a nice price to buy at, if you view it from a relative standpoint of the 100k goal. So whats the point in panic?

If you ask any veteran here on this forum they will tell you that 100k is nowhere near the goal. And a lot will tell you they will never sell.

Personally I belong to the latter. Bitcoin will be the global money. Don't cash out for worthless fiat unless you really have to.
2237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casinos vs money laundering. on: September 13, 2022, 10:22:07 PM
Let's be honest, money laundering is the best thing that can happen to a casino and there is where most of high rollers comes from. I have seen some rollers in the past that runs some huge scams and then go to the casinos to play with the scammed money and with that justify where they get the money from after hitting some huge wins.

Nowadays most casinos has KYC, but i don't think that is enough to stop the money laundering, what casinos should do is to investigate the source of the deposits to fight against this illegal activity, but that will not happen because is a win-win game from them.

So, what do you say, does crypto casinos really care about money laundering?

I am not sure we can equate money laundering as the same as scammed money. Both are illegal, sure, but that still does not have anything to do with the other. If you get caught with scammed money then obviously that money will be seized. As far as money laundering goes, it might not be allowed to be seized by the casino unless they recieve an order from the police to seize the laundered money, but you will still get into trouble with the law.

I doubt any online or offline gambling casino, whether crypto based or fiat based, cares about enforcing the law. They do it because they have to. Of course they would rather make more profit and not give any of their players up if they had a choice.
2238  Economy / Gambling / Re: My list of good crypto casinos on: September 13, 2022, 06:24:46 PM
Not a single one of your "good crypto casinos" on your list is even remotely popular. I think you are being paid to advertise random casinos on your website (or perhaps they belong to you) and to be honest, your list seems not only a bit suspicious because of the fact that you needed to link an external website even though you could have just posted a list on this thread but also the fact that I have never even heard of the online gambling casinos (nor mostly anyone else here) that you are attempting to endorse. Could you elaborate on these two points just to clarify things, in case I am getting ahead of myself?

I hope you understand that this is a subforum of experienced veteran gamblers who know which sites are good and we have already made our own lists?
2239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the best way of contacting steamers who do live stream their gamble? on: September 12, 2022, 02:02:16 PM
Sounds like you're one of the people who easily judge someone based on the headlines/title of any thread/news you read.

Thats why I said "it sounds like".  Based from his first, not-so-detailed post it sounded like he was new at this and I gave him some helpful pointers.

If a person cannot tolerate constructive criticism because their feelings might get hurt, then they go around in life, whining about non-issues, like you. I want OP to have success in finding good candidates and therefore, I gave him my true thoughts, based off of his first post, which had very little detail and seemed like he did not really know what he was looking for, to me. Sure, he might know exactly what he is doing but he might also not. Hopefully my advice will save him from losing money and making his advertising campaign more efficient.

Of course, if I did not care, I could have just given him a simple, one-liner answer on how to find the contact information of streamers but enough people have already thoroughly answered how to do that. So I doubt that me parroting the same thing as the others would have helped him.
2240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some Popular Themes for Online Slot on: September 12, 2022, 01:44:32 PM
My absolute favorite would have to be Egyptian themed or some theme that has to do with runes, like Viking themed. I do not really understand the psychologically behind it, but mysterious symbols do kind of give me a better feeling when playing slots.

I sometimes like the fruits themed ones too but only the ones that do not seem too cartoony or badly made.

There are also medieval fantasy ones. Like dungeon and dragons themed. I can't remember the name of a particular one but it was kind of a mix between magic/medieval and runes. If I had to pick a favorite that had all the things that I like in a single slot game then its probably that one.
