Looks like we are going down. Not a big surprise, looking at the last weekly candle.
1962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will Sam Bankman-Fried go to jail? on: November 20, 2022, 06:53:56 PM
My BTC savings have lost much value this month, and I know why. We all know. It's the FTX's debacle. Some say it's doomsday for cryptos, but it isn't. There's nothing wrong with BTC. What's wrong is that one crook has stolen honest people's money to make shady investments.

There's only one solution to restore people's confidence. Put the bad guy in jail for a long, long time.

It would seem that the rich do not go to jail, no matter how much money they steal as long as they are not stealing from the government. The CEO of the Luna scam obviously did not go to jail. He might be in hiding but if the government really wanted to put him in jail, they would have found him already. Same goes for Bankman. Either he was working together with the government or he paid off the government and is now enjoying life somewhere on some island.

Justice will obviously not reach him.

The only punishment he will receive is if the people he stole from decided to inflict mob justice on him. But the world has turned so soft, I doubt anyone will want to do that. Its a great age to be a scammer.
1963  Economy / Gambling / Re: Selling Online Crypto Casino on: November 20, 2022, 06:19:56 PM
It seems like lots of people here are Idiots and dont know how casinos work.
No im not rigging it and no, im not a scammer. You are just Gambling addicts who think that you have a chance at winning.

Wow. And you think anybody is going to take you up on your offer? You are obviously a grifter trying to trick people into buying your scam. Whatever you are offering, I will have to decline.

Furthermore, I am strictly warning everyone not to participate in OP's charade. If you want to own a casino, you need to put in the hard work yourself. There are no shortcuts in such a business. Buying finished "casinos" (especially from random newbie accounts) will result in you in downloading some malware/viruses which will without a doubt try to subvert your efforts, steal your and your clients money and do further damage.

STAY AWAY
1964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Running a casino during crypto crash on: November 20, 2022, 05:52:35 PM
Hello guys, as an attempt to protect new or old users on this forum , I think its mandatory for gambling sites to show proof of money they are holding in reserves  . Unless casinos converts all deposits to a stablecoin , excluding UST hahahah , from year to date most of them should be running on a loss as most utilized crypto coins are down by atleast 65% and that includes Bitcoin .

There will be more and more accusations  created to existing and also new casinos.

Goodluck,Be safe and smart out there!!

I think if the gambling casinos did not have as much funds as they claim, we would have started seeing people complaining about not being able to withdraw, in other words, the casinos would just freeze withdrawals because there would not be anything for the players to cash out. As far as the old, most reputable casinos are concerned, they would never be dumb enough or greedy enough to try something as foolish as faking funds.

This is something only greedy owners of bad exchanges do. They lend money they do not have to people that will never be able to pay it back. And once people start withdrawing, they start making excuses. Up until the point the truth comes out.

It never ends pretty.
1965  Other / Off-topic / Re: Elon Musk want to buy bitcointalk on: November 18, 2022, 03:39:02 PM
It will be a sad day indeed when my favorite website gets bought by that egomaniac. He will without a doubt not understand how this forum was created and our culture and morals. He will definitely ruin it. But then again this is all hypothetical. He has not declared anything about buying Bitcointalk nor any other forum websites. And I do not see why he would. Hopefully we will be left in peace from Elon Musk or any other people like him.
1966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you still win with free spins? on: November 18, 2022, 03:27:11 PM
Is it possible to stick with free spins on online casinos and still be able to make some good reward?

I am looking into the free side of things, no risk at all with free spins but the question is has anyone ever make something out of free spins before? Something reasonable at?

The last time I earned something free from gambling websites was when BTC has very low value and many faucets still run, that's couple of years back.

Of course you can. But by being free, obviously winning is going to be a very hard thing to do. Otherwise the casino would go broke from all the people winning from free spins. In and of itself free spins are just marketing tactics to get you to play on their online gambling platform. Once you have "tasted" their casino experience, chances are that you might want to stay and play some more. Except, of course, this time not for free but with actual money. Thats the point at which they make profit.

But free spins are still quite fun and are obviously part of the entire crypto casino gambling experience. So I am all for it. However I have yet to win anything.
1967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have Lucky Casino? on: November 17, 2022, 10:36:54 PM
I知 playing same set of games on different casino not just to get the bonuses of each casino but also to have a different mood of my mind set. It really helps me to calm down and focus whenever I知 losing big time on one casino. It also helps me to not chase my previous losses because I think about it as fresh start.

With this regular routine, I notice that I have a specific casino that I知 always winning despite I知 playing same game that I lose huge amount on the other casino. I do randomly change the sequence of my game on casino and keeps giving me same good result on my personal lucky casino. I highly believe that this luck of mine related on how I feel when playing on that casino. I知 expecting that I will be lucky so my mind is always optimistic whenever I知 playing on it.

Do you have this kind of casino?

I do not really believe in superstitions or things like luck. I choose where to have my gambling experiences based on how comfortable and profitable a online casino seems. I would choose user experience and a good reputation over everything else, anytime.

So thats why I only play on casinos which have been around for a long time and have a large community as well as those casinos which have community programs like bug hunting and good marketing campaigns. I want to feel safe, before I feeling lucky. We are trusting a third party with our funds as well as our government issued documents (for KYC)

So basically trust > luck.
1968  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to prevent cheating in a game on: November 17, 2022, 09:28:33 PM
As a gambler what prevention measures will you take in other not to cheat on your game that you know a way on cheating to win or will you go ahead and cheat ?

If you want to keep your account from being banned, then do not cheat. Thats the only motivation you need to not cheat.

Why is it in the responsibility of the gambler not to cheat? Surely if there is a way to cheat the game its the sole responsibility of the gambling casino to patch that bug which allows the gamblers to cheat, in the first place?

I am not trying to say that I would cheat, or that cheating is a good thing or that cheating will not get you banned as it goes against the terms of service of almost any online gambling casino that I know of.

I just think its not really up to us, as the gamblers to be the ones who shoulder that responsibility.
1969  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Write a song with your seed phrase on: November 17, 2022, 07:49:20 PM
Why not just think of your own simple encryption algorithm and write it down like that?
Because it's unlikely you know more than the experts who're studying about encryption algorithms for years.

I do not remember saying that I know more than the experts who study encryption algorithms for years. I do not think I made it sound like that.

What I am saying is that, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't a seed phrase song just a kind of algorithm in itself? That's basically what I meant, because it seems like to me that a song would just be easier to crack if someone knew what to look for? Again, I am not calling myself an algorithm expert. Far from it.

And if you noticed I also said that writing it down, either as an encryption, in a song or plain text is not a good idea. But you must have missed that part of my post.

1970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Write a song with your seed phrase on: November 17, 2022, 07:15:35 PM
A seed phrase song? Seems like encryption but a bit lazier. Why not just think of your own simple encryption algorithm and write it down like that? Not that I am condoning writing down seed phrases in any way or form. I still think its a bad idea. Surely 12 words are not that hard to commit to memory long term? Just recite it everyday until you have it in your long term memory. OR better yet, every time you access your wallet, access it with your seed phrase. If you do that everyday at some point that phrase will become indented into your memory. No need to leave physical or digital storage.

1972  Economy / Economics / Re: Is long-term employee retention a losing battle? on: November 16, 2022, 10:44:24 PM
Long term employment is a relic of the past. Why would anyone wish to stay in a single role their whole life? Or work with a single company? People need change to grow and learn otherwise they are nothing but work slaves. A long time ago, back when jobs were very lucrative in pay and very rare, only the best and luckiest were selected. Obviously given the living conditions of those times the employees wanted to stay as long as possible. Because that job gave them a comfortable life. With time, employers became greedier and jobs became more abundant. Working no longer provided the same rewards as before.

Nowadays employers demand very high qualifications for crappy jobs with low pay. Even though the jobs themselves require minimal training time for new employees. So now its all about who pays more and because of this competitive market, people jump from one job to another, better paying one.

If employers sacrificed part of their profits for higher employee wages, they would have employees staying longer with them. But that is not cost effective, if you consider the cost of training new employees who accept lower wages.
1973  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Trading Volume really matter ? on: November 16, 2022, 04:43:46 PM
I've only started noticing the Trading Volume stats on my favourite projects. I am a little intrigued as to what this exactly means, does it really matter much ? Some lesser known projects like Yield Yak have barely $4,000 in Trading Volume, yet the TVL is something like $50 million, whereas a better known project like Raydium has a Trading volume of more than $6 Million, with a TVL of only a little more than triple the TVL of Yield Yak  ( $160 Million TVL )
I'm also surprised that some lesser known gaming projects like Vulcan Forged have a high trading volume , whereas others ( like Axie Infinity ) have a relatively low trading volume.
The way I interpret it right now ( correct me if I'm wrong ) is that trading volume is high when an ecosystem is very active and adoption is growing relative to other projects, so it's a good indicator to buy into that project.

OF course trading volume matters. The lower the trading volume, the less you will be to liquidate your coins/tokens at a moments notice. In fact, if you are making big trades, you might not even be able to sell. Or at least not for the price you want to.

Also low trading volume is an indicator that there is no interest in the project behind the investment. A dead/unpopular project is never a good sign.

Not to mention that low volume makes it very easy for whales to manipulate the market by introducing their own rogue market-making strategies which will only damage the project further.

Also, how do you trust for example, TVL, if their trading volume is so low but their market cap is so high? Something sketchy seems to be going on there. Seems like a red flag to me.
1974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Distortion Pattern on: November 16, 2022, 04:26:52 PM
The only consistency in gambling is you depositing more money. Whether you lose, win, win big, lose big, keep winning or keep losing is not something you can predict with patterns, I would think. Since gambling is based on probability with the house edge outweighing the probability of you making any money in the long term (if you keep gambling for a long time, that is.), there is no point in trying to recognize patterns. In fact, a mathematical model of mentioned probabilities and the variables and constants involved in the equation would probably serve you better than a model of patterns.
1975  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Forecaster rating on: November 15, 2022, 09:59:03 PM
Interesting project. I wish you good luck with it!

However I must wonder how will you rate the forecasters? The quality as well as the followers are usually of questionable origin. How do you see through the fake followers and scam groups? I see many such groups posting nonsense memes with absolutely no useful substance with a few thousand views while having many hundred thousand followers. The math does not seem to add up on those groups.

Perhaps if you used a method of prediction correlation from all those groups, you might develop your own system of forecasting?
1976  Economy / Economics / Re: Has the popularity of bitcoins reduced interest of people in stocks? on: November 15, 2022, 05:26:16 PM
Stocks give like 20-30% returns in an year but bitcoin and other crypto coins can give this much return in just one day. At such, do you think that increasing popularity of bitcoin has reduced interest of people in stocks.

I think in some countries, people are really shifting to crypto only and most of their investment portfolio is in the form of crypto instead of stocks. The awareness related to crypto is increasing day by day and this more people are getting included in this crowd. Stocks on the other hand become saturated, people have realized that these stocks are not as much profitable as bitcoins. Also, there are other benefits of bitcoins like it can be used for transactions. This cannot be done with stocks.

Cryptocurrency trading is also much much easier to get into as a layman. You only need an internet connection to get started. With stocks the process is so overregulated in some countries that you need a third party to do everything for you, including buying stocks. This is the main reason I am not interested in stocks. Its just too much buerocracy you have to wade through in order to get what you want.

Also you can think of cryptocurrency as stocks too. Except nobody can freeze your wallet or lose your stocks because they were all in a centralized database somewhere. You are the only one you need to count on. And that's worth a lot.
1977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not Quitting only a break on: November 15, 2022, 04:30:40 PM
Taking a break from gambling is better than not doing anything at all, if you notice that your gambling habits are becoming problematic in your life. So that's a very responsible step to take and should be applauded.

Not many people know when to walk away from the casinos, even when it starts messing with their life.

Your mind is not a machine, it needs breaks too. And the constant firing of neuromolecules from gambling really tires your brain out. That can lead to mental health issues like depression. So not taking breaks is not a fantastic way to live. Even professional poker players need to take breaks otherwise their brains just fry out, leaving them in a bad place.

There should be no shame in either quitting nor taking time off.

1978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Can Be Done To Reduce Gambling Related Issues Like Suicide etc? on: November 15, 2022, 03:57:10 PM
I think the best way to reduce gambling related health issues (also meaning mental health issues) is to understand how gambling can cause an addiction in the first place. It is possible to gamble without becoming addicted. But only if you know how to avoid the addiction traps. And once you learn how to avoid them, thats 99% of the problem solved. Because almost all of these issues arise from gambling addictions.

The act of gambling releases dopamine. Just like with drugs. In order not to become addicted to gambling your brain needs to avoid creating a connection between the dopamine release and the act of gambling as a reward for winning.

So easiest way: after you win a sum of money that makes you feel very happy and excited, you walk away from gambling and distract yourself with something else while that feeling wears off. I recommend at least a few days break.
1979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The pump of Trust Wallet Token (TWT) on: November 15, 2022, 01:33:57 AM
I recommend reading the posts in this topic on trust wallet security issues: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5420819

Trust Wallet is not decentralized and it is not open source. This means they could possibly have access to their user's keys and obviously, being centralized, if something did happen like if they were hacked for some reason, that sensitive information would be going over to the hackers. And your coins with it.

So even if we see a pump of the Trust Wallet Token by nearly 200%, I would still stay away from it. The size of pumps should not be your measure for the quality of wallet/other services.
1980  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC will make it, but might be a long winter-Elon musk on: November 15, 2022, 12:51:42 AM
I still do not understand why people listen to Elon Musk. He has proven time and time again to be a huge nothing-burger. He is a completely narcissistic egomaniac with half baked inventions that do not hold water long term. Do people still think he is some sort of genius? He does exactly what Steve Jobs did. Hypes up his products and his own image without having achieved anything himself. Sure, he duped people in buying his products but being a sleazy entrepreneur with no moral compass is not impressive.

I very much doubt Elon Musks understands Bitcoin or its potential. If he did, he would not be hyping memecoins.
