2841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] The Proposal for EnCoin on: October 02, 2011, 06:36:21 PM
So is this going to be easily GPU or easily CPU minable !? I think go for CPU as bitcoin is already dominant in the GPU market etc.

Any input ?
2842  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / List of all alternate currencies based on GPU and CPU mining algorithms ? on: October 02, 2011, 06:12:52 PM
Can we please have something like this on a sticky so people can refer to it and somebody has to update it etc. !?

For example have a list of CPU mining coins : Fairbrix ( not operational ATM ), Tenebrix, Solidcoin 2 ( not operational ATM ).

For example have a list of GPU mining coins : Bitcoin, I0coin, ixcoin, geist geld, namecoin, solidcoin1 etc. etc.

Anybody agree ? I think it would help newbies and us regulars too etc.
2843  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Howto: Mining on Amazon EC2 Cluster GPU instance on: October 02, 2011, 05:43:25 PM
What about mining tenebrix with the cpu in this baby ?

Maybe that makes it profitable ?
2844  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: FPGA Miner Design for Sale to Someone willing to Market It on: October 02, 2011, 05:40:34 PM
Any news on this ? Have we invented the water fuelled car yet ?
2845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Tenebrix, a CPU-friendly, GPU-hostile cryptocurrency on: October 02, 2011, 05:06:19 PM
if fairbrix is based on tenebrix and all the FBX just vanished, how do we know this is not going to happen to tbx?

Just wait for it. It will come soonish as the botnet master wakes up. The guy who trashed FBX will kill TBX. ATM, only bitcoin is pretty safe because of massive power on network. All other chains can be attacked by people like ArtForz and BitcoinExpress ( Apple employee ) so watch your coins people !

TBX price just crashed. I was supposed to have found 4 blocks but somehow only got 2 blocks. 7.7 million pre-mined coins. Code written by ArtForz. Marketing by lolcust. Can this really get any better ?

Waiting for SC2 and hoping that does not fail too. Need I say more ?
2846  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade Bot forcing price down on: October 02, 2011, 04:30:43 PM
No evidence but it really is kind of obvious if you think about it.

Lots of things are obvious when you think about it.  That's kinda why people ask for proof.

Well you tell me how I can provide you proof the gov is onto the market and I will give it to ya.

It is highly likely somebody wants to drive price down. And also likely that this "somebody" is the gov.

2848  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Network usage and 3G access of mining rigs. on: October 01, 2011, 08:55:45 PM
Sorry to sound negative but if you are considering this big kind of setup right now, you are setting up for failure. At current price / difficulty, mining is at lowest ever profitability and the price could tank anytime.

I already regret my decision to invest in mining. Buyer beware !
2849  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Anything but Trixx? on: October 01, 2011, 08:49:56 PM
Aye, not that Trixx has improved much but if you havn't checked for a new one in a while they've just released 4.02 which adds a pull down for your vid cards. I have not tested this with profiles yet though.

To the OP sadly I haven't found any utility which works 100% of the time to modify clock, memory, and voltage.  Seems a pretty easy thing to do but it doesn't seem to be.

Nividia Inspector does it almost perfectly. shame shame. If it weren't for the mining capability I'd put my fan boy hat back on and toss this Catalyst and these Ati cards back in the box where they belong. ;p

Nvidia is really the best for gaming and general usage ( best drivers ). ATI is just plain dumb unless for mining and still shitty drivers ( 100% CPU bug is been for ages ! ) so avoid unless mining.

OMG The Manipulator is back. This time he is in robot form !!!

Personally, I think it is the big fat gov trying to drive price down so miners quit and network is compromised and illegal activity like Silk Road is stopped  Grin <- method is much cheaper than buying up 6990s and doing it that way round.
2851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coming Soon - Fairbrix on: October 01, 2011, 08:09:59 PM
Sold all my TBX.  I can't see how people value a currency with such a huge pre-mine.

Sold all my USD. I can't see how people value a country with such a huge debt.

@ Matoking
Well, he can - if he asks Art he might give him the optimized GPU miner for tenebrix. A good  radeon will be slightly  slower than 2-3 cores of a recent-ish Phenom though Cheesy

@racerguy

a share

Well then this still is a bit of a fail for me. The CPU advantage is not that big really so then 2 Radeons = Phenom 1100T is not that big advantage for CPU people. So on a rig with 1x 1100T and 4x 6990 will be just like 5x 1100T which is still advantageous. Need to make GPU like equal to less than 1 core etc.
2853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What speed are your getting CPU mining TENEBRIX? on: October 01, 2011, 08:04:43 PM
Only running on my headless miner. It's a 4core 3+ghz Phenom II, getting 1.8kh/s per core

So are you telling me that your AMD is better than my 2600K at this ? LOL then it seems like Intel is the next Nvidia when it comes to CPU mining !

Anyone with a 2600K wanna try ? Maybe it is just me and I am doing it wrong etc. !?

How long to get a block with 7.2 khash/s ?
2854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Tenebrix, a CPU-friendly, GPU-hostile cryptocurrency on: October 01, 2011, 06:54:41 PM
Lolcust, why are you the one owning the repo and making all the announcement about Tenebrix if it is ArtForz who did most of the work?

Maybe because he is a sock puppet of ArtForz ?
2855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What speed are your getting CPU mining TENEBRIX? on: October 01, 2011, 05:24:14 PM
Don't really know if I am doing this correctly but mining on a 2600K at stock everything gets me around 0.95 for each thread so about 0.95*8 in total 7.6 khashes/s. Anyone else with a 2600K ? Might try to OC.

It just started trading yesterday.

Please enlighten us because I haven't seen an exchange so far etc. What is 1000TBX in BTC or USD ? Maybe this will be another one of the pizza for 200 000 USD moments etc.
2857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Tenebrix, a CPU-friendly, GPU-hostile cryptocurrency on: October 01, 2011, 04:52:38 PM
Please update first post too because that is where the updated version should be IMHO.

Also, if this thing is portable, where is the wallet stored ? How to update from one version to another without losing downloaded blockchain and wallet ?

Exchange ?
Pool ?
Block explorer ?

Thanks.

Maybe this is mtgox itself ?? or satoshi ? or mark karpeles ? or tycho deepbit owner ? or artforz ? or maybe they are all the same person ?
2859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin and TruCoin on: September 22, 2011, 12:26:10 AM
On one hand, sure it's open source.
On the other hand, it's a very few people that control the client and hence blockchain.
That blockchain is worth ~$41,000,000 at the moment.

Bitcoin (and clones) is far from decentralized, that has been proven quite nicely in the alternative cryptographies forum lately.  He (or they) who control the client wields a tremendous amount of power over the chain.

Finally somebody with a cortex around here.
