2861  Economy / Gambling / Re: LuckyFlop.eu | HOURLY FREE ROLLS | 3MBC/HR PAID TO PLAYERS | 2BTC RAKE BACK on: October 11, 2015, 07:03:22 PM
Just registered an account and I personally find it a bit confusing to navigate so far. After registering I was prompted to follow the link sent to my email which is standard practice, so I did. After clicking the link the page did not inform me that the registration process had completed, nor did it log me into my account. I went ahead and attempted to log in from the page in the link and it brought me back to the main page once again, still not logged in. From this page I attempted to login again which was successful finally! Am now just waiting for a free chip table to become available after I (at least I think) signed up to what appears to be a first come first serve type of poker room. Interesting site overall, worth a look if your into poker.

I had no issues like that with registration. And I'm not sure what you mean by "waiting for a free chip table to become available" -- there are tons of available tables.

Is there a similar way to calculate odds of hitting certain cards in poker, as well? Like let's say you have two hearts and two came out on the flop. There's two cards left to draw, and there are 9 hearts left that you can't see. Is there a quick/easy way to calculate odds using the # of outs per draw, rather than doing two separate calculations?

I don't think the binomial distribution helps you with that specific case, because the odds of drawing another heart change on the turn and river - it's 9/47 on the turn, and either 8/46 or 9/47 on the river (depending on whether you drew a heart on the turn).

The binomial distribution is useful when the individual probabilities don't change - ie. when the events are independent of each other - like dice rolls, or bustabit games.

Edit: having said that, you can get pretty close if you ignore the fact that the probabilities change slightly as you draw.

Assuming the probability of drawing a heart is 9 in (52-5), the chances of drawing 0, 1, or 2 more hearts in 2 cards are:

0   2   19.15%   0   65.37%
1   2   19.15%   0   30.96%
2   2   19.15%   0   3.67%

A rule of thumb is that you double the number of outs to get the percentage chance of drawing on the turn: 9 outs, 18% on turn, 18% on river, 36% total.

The chance would be less than 36%, though, so that's an over-exaggeration (important detail when playing something that's odds-based). But thanks! I think I need to take a statistics class on Coursera or something to better understand all these things, Smiley.

Note: using a proxy on entering inside the mining game is against the rules so only change proxy until the landing page or the first page where in, you have to type your login credentials and after that turn of the VPN before logging in.

This is way too much work for some. Swapping from VPN to non-VPN just to log in every time...

why does this game looks like an exact copy of bustabit ?
or bustabit has changed its name again,again... ?

Because it's based on Bustabit?

September Metrics and Financials below.

It's great to see the site in the black for the first time in like a year! At what profit mark do you start paying dividends again?
2866  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I invest? on: October 11, 2015, 06:50:29 PM
i wouldnt recommend investing anywhere as bitcoin investment sites usually turn to a hyip scam that stops paying after some time of working

Usually, but not always. CBTC looks like they'll be paying a dividend for the first time in a long time next quarter, Smiley.
2867  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] AdBTC - Bitcoin advertising network - free traffic for everyone! on: October 11, 2015, 06:48:12 PM
Yes, we weren't online this weekend and couldn't finish the transfer to the new server. So today we stopped the ads because the old one would get overloaded.
This means that today there will be no payouts, and no advertisers will be charged. Hopefully tomorrow we would be able to make everything work again.
Please excuse us for the downtime...

You should really give people a heads-up prior, so publishers can swap out ad blocks to continue getting revenue.
2868  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] HaoBTC, mining dividend paid out hourly on: October 11, 2015, 06:47:08 PM

I wouldn't be worried about exit strategy. Just securing funds. As Eric has said in response to my questions, the worst that would happen to users is no more interest. But asking what happens if they're hacked is a great question.

I think they need to introduce some bounty campaigns in order to detect any backdoor(s) if present within their databases. And most importantly, trusting their staff members is vital to run an investment scheme where any miracle may happen anytime and the staff members doesn't run away with all the funds ! Wink

Technically, they have a bounty system: the hot wallet, :p.

I get where you're coming from, though. I'm personally less worried about site security than I am what they do if it's compromised. To me, it's like a bank: if the bank gets robbed, it doesn't affect me. I don't care about their security protocols, I just care about the end result for me, considering I have no say in how they run their business/secure it.
Has Eric answered to what the company would do IF they did get hacked and lost a large amount of users' bitcoins?

This is one of the frequently asked questions and I did answered it before.
Most of the users' coins were used to invest in our mining facility - FYI our second farm is currently under construction.
So they are in the form of bricks, cement, rein bars, steel sheets and silicon chips and plastic motherboards, they are physical therefore hacker-proof.
That is not to say that there aren't any risks.
There are still thieves, fire, earthquakes, aged transformer and Internet outage to worry about.
OK, and say that the mining farm was robbed of half its miners, or an earthquake destroyed everything.  What would happen then?
We do have some contingency plans, but a catastrophe is a catastrophe, nobody knows what it is going to be like until it strikes. The most realistic one is that our exchange - which has been generating trickle of profit, will be big enough so we can use that profit to cover the loss of the mining facility.
The CEO did suggest that we should pay our users' money even if we have get jobs elsewhere - not sure how serious he is though.

That's for providing us with an honest answer.  I think that I'll still continue to keep some of my BTC on your website.  When you talk about exchange, are you referring to the exchange on haobtc or another one?

I didn't like their answer. They need a contingency plan in place. Any business prospectus has one, as it's the main thing an investor needs to know. If an asteroid hits their mining operation right now and decimates it, their answer is "we'll have to see what to do when that happens." That doesn't inspire confidence.

Hey Macro PM sent.  Thanks for your time.

Get a response yet? I still haven't gotten a response from my PM and my next payment date still shows 2015-10-04 23 (which means it looks like the payment that's supposed to happen today isn't going to come).

That could be a bad news for people like me who depends on renting tech and cant afford yet to buy one

Yep. If they continue to go up in price at this rate, you'll have to invest in 100 GHs just to even break even.
how long needed for take break even because too worry site will die before i get my money back like all cloud mining has colapse

It really isn't cloud mining. It is a game built inside its own world that runs in ads to pay for the blocks, the faucet and probably a little hosting fees. With most of the shop contributing back to the game.

At least 50 btc has been put into the site by players so far, based on hash and power needed.

Very nifty indeed

It's possible that when the site was started, it had promotions and giveaways, so I'm not sure if you can use the hash rate to determine how much has really been invested so far.

Whales have been playing nearly all day lot's of fun to watch they also helped push us ahead in the Wager WARZ, big thanks to all our players for that. Don't forget to use our spyglass feature to watch specific players sometimes it helps pass the time while betting Smiley

For those who haven't seen, NLNico built us a really great way to keep track of these WARZ and hopefully he's able to do them again for the next one.

http://dicesites.com/wager-warz

*whales said "sorry to scare investors"

To investors, I'll just say this, a particular whale on our site goes for all or nothing. He basically will play until either 100 BTC is recovered or his bankroll is lost (as I have observed) so it's risky but part of the investment risk/profit.

Do you know how much he started with and about where he's at now? Smiley.

It depends on your pool, the luck of it, how much you've invested, when you repair, etc. Far too many variables to make an estimate.

This would make no sense for employees to do this, unless you're more embedded in the company than we realize...

The number of games with crashpoint >= 2.06 in a total of 1686 games should follow a binomial distribution of  N = 1686 and p = 47.814538%. So the chance to have less than or equal to 777 wins is 0.081149924, which is very close to the number dooglus obtained by simulation.
An easy way to calculate it is to use "=BINOMDIST(777, 1686, 47.814538%, 1)" in Excel.

This is a pretty cool function I wasn't aware of. So if we wanted to see the chance of 35 losses in a row at 49.5%, would that be:

"=BINOMDIST(35, 35, 49.5%, 1)"

?

When the last field is "1", it is to calculate the CDF. And when the last field is "0", it is to calculate the PDF.

If you want to see the chance of having exactly 30 wins in 35 bets at 49.5%, you can use "=BINOMDIST(30, 35, 49.5%, 0)" and will get 0.000735%.
If you want to see the chance of having exactly 35 wins in 35 bets at 49.5%, you can use "=BINOMDIST(35, 35, 49.5%, 0)" and will get 0.0000000020473% which is exactly 0.495^35.

If you want to see the chance of having less than or equal to 10 wins in 35 bets, you can use "=BINOMDIST(10, 35, 49.5%, 1)" and will get 0.976982%.

Edit: Fixed typos.

Thanks for that, Smiley. I've noted these down so I can use them in the future. Is there a similar way to calculate odds of hitting certain cards in poker, as well? Are account selling /transfer allowed in this re-newed swcpoker as they were in old good sealswithclubs? Is there any official statement from swcpoker management?

Or may anyone post some mail from swc administation answering this specific question?

Is there a rest period that the trasnferred account must respect as it was in swc if I remember correctly?

Any information is welcome and then I'd consider purchasing a high krill account.

Thx in advance for your help

I emailed them a while ago, they said that it was fine to sell or rent your account to someone.  I'm sure you could send them an email to confirm for yourself if you are curious.

Is there any risk of someone doing some kind of account reversal through support? This is a huge concern.

You should prob email them.  I can't imagine that anyone would think that it was a good business practice to give away passwords just based off an email but...you never know with SWC support.

Not give away the passwords, but do resets. This is pretty common in the gaming world (people will sell an account, then claim it was hacked and support will reset the password and give it back to them).

Wow, taking big hits to my investment from some lucky high-roller. Let's hope his luck runs out before my bankroll does, haha.

Edit: God damn it, this always happens to me. I divest all when I see my investment plummeting and as soon as I divest, the investor profit goes almost all the way back to where it was. Lost 10 days worth of investment in 10 minutes.

You're doing it wrong. Why would you divest right after taking a loss? The guy you lost to is likely to keep playing, and likely to lose his winnings if he does.

As an investor you want high volume.

(Note: I also do it wrong, because I too get scared by big bets).

Yeah I realise that now but in the moment you're just thinking "oh shit, what if this guy just keeps winning?". Logic goes out the window when you're dealing with potentially large losses.

Welcome to bankroll investing. And yes, it's a risk either way. Always keep in mind the JD Nakowa situation, Smiley.

Not my day today. Decided that it would be a good idea to "win back" my investment losses. Yeah, about that - lmao.

Ouch! At least you won that 0.2, if that makes you feel any better, lol.
