Hmm, lets see:

Code:
static const int64 MAX_MINT_PROOF_OF_STAKE = 0.6 * COIN;	// 60% annual interest - 5% monthly interest
static const int64 MAX_MINT_PROOF_OF_STAKE2 = 0.1 * COIN;
static const int64 MAX_MINT_PROOF_OF_STAKE3 = 0.02 * COIN;

Code:
const int YEARLY_BLOCKCOUNT = 1051200;	// 365 * 2880
int64 GetProofOfStakeReward(int64 nCoinAge, unsigned int nBits, unsigned int nTime, int nHeight)
{
    int64 nRewardCoinYear;
nRewardCoinYear = MAX_MINT_PROOF_OF_STAKE;

if(nHeight > (5 * YEARLY_BLOCKCOUNT))
nRewardCoinYear = MAX_MINT_PROOF_OF_STAKE2;

if(nHeight > (10 * YEARLY_BLOCKCOUNT))
nRewardCoinYear = MAX_MINT_PROOF_OF_STAKE3;

    int64 nSubsidy = nCoinAge * nRewardCoinYear / 365;

Lets get facts more straight.
60% yearly interest != 5% monthly interest.
Dont be fooled by fancy word "compounding" either. It has next to non existing effect with this coin.

Code:
unsigned int nStakeMaxAge = 60 * 60 * 24 * 30;

Max age being 30 days. Dont always expect to get daily stakes if network stake weight gets high.

Good luck with a coin, Dev.

Max age being 30 days.

That's really weird. I've waited to stake until 2.5m+ and got more than 2x what I normally did doing it on the same day each month...
1922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HYPER ~ Game Currency ~ ON CNBC ~ Twitch.tv ~ ShapeShift.io ~RPG + More! on: January 09, 2016, 07:36:14 PM
I also have question, did coins have age limit? I have some coins since ~5 month and never got reward(windows wallet), but I not run actively.

How old are coins age supposed to be before they start staking?

Minimum coin age is 1 day or 24 hours. The more coins you have in your HYPER wallet, and the longer it's been since you moved the coins, opened (or unlocked) your wallet, the more chance you will have of automatically generating proof of stake blocks.

Ideally PoS blocks should be generated every 24 hours and compounding, based on a monthly PoS interest of 5%. This may vary slightly for a number of reasons such as the number of coins in the wallet.

Hope that helps Wink

here is your answer.
thanks, that means coins age after become mature -unlimited .

I had coins for 2.5m+ that still staked the full amount so I believe there's no age limit.

I'd personally be fine with the lock for 24h, but I see what you mean. Just makes things a bit more difficult for liquidity as it is, but if we divest, we can then reinvest the excess right after, right?
Once you divested, you can do whatever you want with your funds, including gambling, withdrawing and of course reinvesting any amount you want to.

If you want to keep things to 1 investment per coin, I'd suggest divesting bevore you place a new investment and placing your current investment amount and your added coins as one new investment.

Thanks! And yeah, that's what I'm planning to do. I do random smaller investments so I'll just start compiling randomly, Smiley.

Now that you removed the limit on investments, can you also do a one-balance setup instead of each one being treat separately? I.e., someone invests 1, 1, 1, 1:

Now:
Invest 1 + Invest 1 + Invest 1 + Invest 1

New:
Invest 4

And then from there, allow users to divest specific amounts instead of the full thing?

What removed was only the limit of the total amount invested users could hold, so a global cap.
Since the investments got different start dates and there still is the minimum investment period of 24h, doing a one-balance setup is not possible, only if we would lock all funds for 24h once you move any at all.

I'd personally be fine with the lock for 24h, but I see what you mean. Just makes things a bit more difficult for liquidity as it is, but if we divest, we can then reinvest the excess right after, right?

Have the tickets already been sent out for the Legendary members? Haven't gotten one yet so just making sure I wasn't missed, :p.
I thought the Legendary bonus will be distributed on 10th of January?

Tickets go out on the 8th (which is almost over in west, and is past over in east) and tournament is on the 10th, afaik.

I thought i had informed all parties who would likely be winning a few days ago.

It will be likely delayed a few days to a week but ive paid every bounty ive set.
Recently had an issue that has to be handled.

a week ago still not paid?

No it hasn't been paid having issues with coinbase accepting my payment from the bank.
Start having these issues after the coinbase card started getting banned from retailers.
As this is not a site giveaway it was not posted by lightlord or zodiac im responsible for it not bitvest.
There is nothing i can do till the btc gets here till i can get a dev job for some btc or coinbase processes my bank transfer.

Also i still haven't been given the forth winners name yet since my name don't count.

Sucks to hear about Coinbase. Have you tried Circle? I know a lot have had better success with it.

Come on down!   If you wager 2000 bits or more in a 10 minute period, you have a 75% chance of winning a prize from our chat bot.

Awesome change to the chat bot! I like the proportional setup, rather than being random. But how does it determine the total payout?

It's a random amount between the minimum I set and the maximum I set.   I'm playing around with it to find a nice equilibrium between rewarding players and costing me money, lol.

I was thinking a good idea would be... if you can calculate your profit somehow, take x% of the profit as min/max so you can never LOSE money as a result.

3% is better than nothin. Smiley

Is there any compounding or the 3% interest are tied to the capital only?

Principle only, I sent .1 BTC and watched each hour same amount, it does not compound each hour Sad

Icon

You may need to watch it longer, or have a higher balance.  I have seen the paid interest amount increase consistently.

It's 100% compounded. It takes 0.00292 BTC to get 1 satoshi per hour, so you'll need to earn that much in interest to get it incremented. For example, if you had 852.64 BTC there, you would see your interest increase each hour (0.00292 to 0.00292001 to 0.00292002, etc.).

1933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DVC] What happened to Devcoin leadership! on: January 05, 2016, 07:05:29 PM
We should try to find out what level of access is needed to address the Devtome problems, as in do we need the domain pointed somewhere else we control, or can the controller of the machine the domain currently points to do something, or is it merely a matter of a username on the machine needing to be controlled by someone new who will actually fix the problems, or what?

-MarkM-

It has been months waiting for a solution, waiting, waiting, waiting. All we got is that someone contacts someone else and there is no response back. If we keep waiting nothing will happen. That is why I'm calling for a revolution!

+, FWIW, I'd love to see it be resurrected. It was an awesome run for a long time, and it'd be great to see it come back as strong as ever.

Wallet interest rate down from 8% to 6% and 3% on January 4
Finance is stable. Invest at least 10BTC for at least a month. Interest rate from 12% to 15.58% per annum. The longer you hold the larger interest.
HaoBTC no longer wants the hot capital.

Wait, wait, whats the difference between wallet interest rate and interest rate. Is it like savings and deposit accounts? One gets locked in for a period of time and the other does not.
The only difference is the required amount of Bitcoin put on each of the wallet. The normal wallet can be any amount, but the interest payments are unfrozen on the beginning of each month, no difference from finance one!

You can withdraw from the wallet at any time and NOT lose any interest. With finance, you can't. That is a HUGE difference.

We will be making some changes today, so the server will be restarted several times.   Lotto will be down as well.  Will update when solved.

Lotto is working again and the site should be mostly stable.   Eligibility for lotto:

2000 bits wagered within the last 10 minutes. (.002 BTC).
1 Chat message within the last 10 minutes,

There is a 75% chance of lotto happening every 10 minute period.

I like that change. I messed with it when there was no limit and figured that wasn't sustainable, Smiley.

OK, I got busy yesterday and wasn't able to get in here to post, but here goes...

Obviously, with 6 votes ranlo was in first place, even if it wasn't exactly clear one or two of those votes new what the vote was for. I will be PMing him in a minute about his StakeBox.

the way I see it there were only 2 others who put their names in the hat for a complimentary StakeBox. I was thinking of extending the vote for another week to determine who would get the other one, but in the holiday spirit I am just going to send one to each of them.

Thanks to everyone who voted, and if you still haven't, make sure you stop by and check out the StakeBox at StakeBox.com. It is a small, secure, energy efficient, dedicated staking device. It is also a great way to get new, less technologically inclined folks into crypto, it is completely plug and play, no need to compile or install wallets, create .conf files, or any of the other headaches related to setting up a wallet. Plug it in, go to stakebox.local on your home network, send some coins to the address shown in the WebUI, and watch your balance grow with every stake.

While you are cruising the interwebs, don't forget to check out www.cryptomercado.com, that is djhomeschool's site. He is selling mostly coffee and foods, but you can also buy a StakeBox through him. He accepts a variety of altcoins for his merchandise, including HYPER, you even get a 2% discount when paying with HYPER.

Info sent. Thanks!

The tentative date for the beta is January 3rd   Is there a time that is convenient for everyone?   I would like to get as many people as possible in the game.  Our rewards system will be giving much larger than normal prizes to all of the testers.  Thanks.

Any time? Tongue. I'll come help throw some support your way.

Cool, I would love to have you there!

Any time..as long as you let us know about it at least 24hours before start, so we can manage our time  as well  Smiley
Happy New Year 2016 anyway..wish the best luck on your site.

Yeah, and when I had said "any time?" I meant like... what time are we supposed to show up?

For some reason I can't access the site on moneypot. I get Error 1006, Access denied, my IP has been blocked. I used moneypot before and never had any problems, don't know what changed.

I like the interface and the colors, but I can't test the site and see the single roll animation that everyone is talking about :/
I will keep trying, maybe the problem with my ip will get fixed. I have a dynamic ip, maybe it's because of that I don't know.

I have no problem accessing Moneypot or Sharpdice. For error 1006, it means Moneypot (not cloudflare) has blocked your IP so you should send them an email or maybe send ranlo a PM with your IP address in it, and ask them what the block is for. https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200171886-Error-1006-1007-1008-Access-Denied-Your-IP-address-has-been-banned

Thanks for that suggestion. I stole this troubleshooting method from elsewhere, but Frue, please try this:

Clear your full cache of your current browser.

Test with a "Privacy" or "Incognito" mode. This forces your browser to clear, and also runs without add-ons you may have installed.

Test with another browser. If you're using Internet Explorer, try Chrome or FireFox. If one works and not the other, it's likely something related to how that browser is configured.

Check your plug-ins, spyware blockers, firewalls, security software or anything that locks down your computer as this is likely working against you. Firewalls, Disconnect.me, Adban, all of these are culprits that have caused known issues.

Hey, Husky! Just saw the site. I like that it's different! Planning other apps/games as well later? Smiley.

And I have a question about your proposed odds. You kept saying x/53 are the odds. But there are 52 cards in a deck. Where is the 53 coming from?
