2881  Economy / Gambling / Re: Question for regular casino players. Will you use Lightning if available? on: April 19, 2022, 01:48:22 PM
I made a topic 4 years ago that asked if casino site owners and operators were interested in integrating/implementing the Lightning Network for their service. It had just three replies, and two were mine. Hahaha.

I want to ask again, and this time to the users. Will you use the Lightning Network if available? Or will you continue to use whichever altcoin you're currently using?

Well that really depends on a cornucopia of things.

First of all, what would be my advantages, or better to say, what advantages would the gambling casino give me if I were to use lightning? If they change their fees and update them in such a way that it would be worth using then obviously I would use lightning.

However, should they keep fees as they are then I do not see the advantage for myself. Rather that would only be an advantage for the gambling casino owners who save on transaction fees and keep whatever they save while artifically inflating user fees.
2882  Economy / Gambling / Re: How do you advertise your casino? on: April 19, 2022, 12:49:35 PM
Hi and welcome to our forum first of all, for starters  Grin

I hope you like it here. You will find the more active you become in the community the more trust you will gain for your online gambling casino business.

As far as advertising your casino goes, as some people have already said, the most popular way to advertise on Bitcointalk is to "hire" people to wear your casino's Bitcointalk signature. Usually, the cost would be $50-100 USD worth in Bitcoin (not including transaction fees) per person per week.

If you get 5-10 people to advertise for you that would come up to $250-1000 USD per week.

Although seeing as you are new here, if you are planning to bring out your own token, you can make a token signature campaign in the altcoin bounty subforum and pay people with your token.

I would definitely advise making a good looking announcement thread with all the Information about your project, though. Its free.
2883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can we do to speed up Bitcoin mass adoption? on: April 18, 2022, 05:26:53 PM
-snip-

The best thing that can we do to speed up Bitcoin mass adoption is to advertise. Preferably by word-of-mouth which seems to be the most effective and low cost marketing strategy that I know.

People really underestimate the effect word-of-mouth has. So spread it within your circle of friends, family and coworkers. Tell them about why Bitcoin is the future and all the things it has achieved to this day. Tell them about your personal success stories with Bitcoin.

We already got the ball rolling, now the most important part is to steer this gigantic snowball in the right direction. Avoid people who badmouth Bitcoin and reprimand them for it.
2884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin have any real value? on: April 18, 2022, 03:37:31 PM
You are saying that we give value to the things that we require for living? ‘Cuz the examples you cited are important for survival.

Everything that we value is essential to our survival. Thats where our desires stem from at the deepest level. Wanting food, water, happiness or anything else is rooted into the needs from our biological evolution. You will not find a single person in this world who wants absolutely nothing. Except maybe someone who is so psychologically or physically damaged that he cannot be considered as someone who cares about life anymore.

Every desire is basically a derivation of those basic needs. Only in a more complicated fashion.

For example, Gaming: It is just the artificial dopamine rush our bodies crave for because we are programmed to crave for dopamine.
2885  Economy / Gambling / Re: Another New Rule On Gambling Adverts Ban Celebrities and Sports Stars on: April 18, 2022, 02:21:09 PM
I believe not. Because they do have a point. There was also the same kind of prohibition in how to advertise cigarette brands which was very effective in lowering smoking rates in young people.

Perhaps you have a point there. By banning smoking advertisements the tobacco industry did in fact get hit by a large toll that they were not expecting and the young people did start smoking less. But that might just be a subjective view of the banning ads sitation, which might not be applicable to the gambling world. Gambling, while harmful to your mental health and wallet, might not be seen as great of a danger to merit a full advertising ban.

I don't know where you're from, because as I know it, gambling ads are freely shown during football games, and other sporting events in the United Kingdom. That's why they don't want celebrities and sports stars in advertisements connected to casinos and gambling.

I believe gambling ads are even banned entirely in some countries.

As far as I know, the number of countries where advertising gambling is completely prohibited is quite long.
I think the restrictions that are being introduced in England are just a step towards getting Britain on this list as well. I think that the government of UK, due to the fact that the gambling industry there is huge, wants to introduce such restrictions gradually so as not to provoke too much protests from bookmakers.

So eventually they'll ban gambling? Is that what you are trying to imply?

IMO, the government just doesn't want to promote gambling so people will not easily get attracted, the thing is, those who are in the low earners' bracket are usually the ones who gamble more and some of them are irresponsible and cause life destruction, in the end, it cannot be blamed on gambling sites but government have their own rules in minimizing the problem.

I did not say that the government wants to ban gambling, but that the restrictions it introduces, i.e. in this case banning celebrities and sports stars for advertising, are a step towards banning gambling advertising.
Gambling is too profitable for the state budget to be completely banned.

You guys don't really understand that it is not really about "banning", it never was. It is all about control. The government wants to have as much control as they can, especially over things which they consider to be harmful to a certain group of people, for example, in this case, children.

Putting such arbitrary restrictions over online casino gambling advertisments is just one way to have more freedom over what they control while making it seem like they are putting down iron-clad rules with boundaries.

I doubt they want to protect children from gambling addiction even though they make it seem that way...
2886  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia wants to build a new world order with China on: April 17, 2022, 09:14:40 PM
A new economic system is coming to the world and that system will not be dominated by the West. Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev (former Russian president) said in an interview with Russian media yesterday.

Quote
Medvedev said: "Hellish sanctions imposed on Russia by the United States, the EU, and their allies in the Ukraine conflict have failed to cripple Russia. Now, these sanctions are coming back to the West.

"As the West continues its futile efforts to corner Russia, the world is slowly moving towards a new global economic relationship. We are moving towards improving the financial system ', he added.

"Confidence in the reserve currency is fading like a morning mist and the prospect of the dollar and the euro leaving does not seem unrealistic now," Medvedev said.

High inflation rates weaken USD dominance for sure but are it really possible to replace USD as a reserve currency or the USA will allow that so easily? The era of regional currency is coming?

Russia SAYS it wants to build a new world order with China but lets look at the facts instead of cheap words of politicians, shall we?

Russia's economy is artifically being propped up by its gold reserves and whatever precious few countries which are not abiding by sanction laws. This is why the ruble rebounded. But it won't last long, as it is a temporary fix.

China's economy is completely reliant on the west's purchasing power. If the west were to sanction China and it's over 1.4 Billion people then China would transform into India really fast. And they know this. China is greedy and opportunistic beyond human measure. They are definitely just waiting to take advantage over a weakened Russia.

So, a new world order would be an extremely painful process for both countries. And I very much doubt China is ready to sacrifice itself and it's current cozy economic situation over Russia's hopes and dreams.
2887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Still Supporting And Playing On Newly Launch Casinos on: April 17, 2022, 02:56:12 PM
Almost every week there are one or two new casinos launching here, this section is already a big number of casinos there are good and bad new casinos here, these new casinos know that for them to stay in the game and be competitive they have offer new things and bonuses and giveaways.

Are you still supporting new casinos even if you're already playing in so many casinos do you still have room for new casino to deposit and play?

I have a very suspicious personality, so I tend to wait until a service provider, in this case an online gambling casino, prove themselves with at the very least 1 years worth of online time with absolutely no accusations, bugs, hacks or other problems. Then and only then do they achieve a "level 1" kind of trust in my eyes and I would consider putting up to 100 dollars worth of crypto into their platform.

Too many scammers lurking around, trust is becoming something which should not be given away easily.

There are other ways they can improve my trust rating in them, for example, if they are active in their community and have legitimate audits.

That aside, most casinos are quite lazy copy/paste versions of older and better casinos.

We provide brand new antminer for bitcoin and orther cryto currency only one address probablyascam.com

So You want to sell antminer on the Wall observer thread with a brand new account?

I think most people here know better, but for those who do not it bears repeating that anyone who is interested in buying mining hardware off some sketchy site from some shady newbie account is just begging to fall victim to spyware/malware.

Remember, there are people here hunting for suckers. And they will scam you if they can, of your passwords, private keys and coins. Don't be a fool, Stay safe.

This kind of nonsense is because you kids are not used to the old ways of using cash on delivery. You pay an extra 5 bucks or how much they ask of you for this 'pay on delivery' method, and also you get to open the package before you pay them anything. If you did not get your stuff, they have to return their empty box full of used tampons.  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes

Well not sure how Cash on Delivery works in many place but based on my experience in few different places, once the package reaches your home you have to pay for it. Before you open or even evaluate and if you want to reject the receiving, still the delivery person or company will insist on taking the package, do the payment and then start the refund process.

The delivery company or person won’t take any responsibility for the package or what’s inside the package. Once they deliver you have to pay for it.

Never heard of that law (or responsibility of a receiver of an item..).

My understanding is that if you receive something that you had not paid for it is yours.

In other words, you better make sure that you receive payment before shipping something.. otherwise you may well be shit out of luck.

Sure a lot of people return things that they had received and not paid for, but I doubt that the law requires them to do it, especially if they had not requested it, and it just shows up at their door.  Seems to me that if you have not requested something and it gets shipped to you, then you may as well consider it to be a gift....

But we are talking about Cash on Delivery… so if it shows up on you door you have to pay first before you get this “gift”.

And from the senders perspective, I guess that’s where the delivery companies comes and make sure for sender that they get paid. In the end receiver is in disadvantage if the delivery is not up to his expectations since the refund process can really be pain in the a**.

That's why you put them to open your box and show what is inside the box!  Cheesy  Cheesy
And if not, you say you don't give any money or you don't have money. And they have to take it back and you give them nothing.  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes

The arbitrary nature of the ban is what makes me think its more of strategic move by regulators rather than by concerned parents.
2891  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Fiat Will Always Be The Norm on: April 16, 2022, 09:50:31 PM
The only reasons FIAT "needs" to remain as the norm is only because all the governments in the world have one thing in common: They want to stay in control. They are terrified of giving up power. Just look at what happens when a government is afraid of their people too much, we get Russia and North Korea.

But that does not necessarily mean that Fiat will remain the norm.

If anything, the unsuccessful attempt by governments to squash out Bitcoin or control it is proof that we are headed towards a new era of money. A new generation of money, in fact.

In a true democracy, we cannot have corruption and shady third parties which have control over our monetary freedom. Thats why Fiat will NOT remain the norm.
2892  Other / Off-topic / Re: Big Project, looking for an investor on: April 16, 2022, 08:28:59 PM
Greetings Everyone,

My name is Mitch, and I would love to propose an investment opportunity. For the past few months, I’ve been working on a website - 961bet.net. Which is a new match betting website targeting Lebanese people and world wide. The site has been up for a few weeks and has gotten a lot of support from different users, however we are now in a bad financial situation and I’m here to look if anyone would like to invest into my project, to further increase the development of the website.

About The Website:
The site is a crypto casino. We currently support two different cryptocurrencies for both Deposits and Withdrawals (BTC, ETH,) and P2P (will be explained down below). . Additional funding to the website will allow us to add more games and fix the overall design of the website, making it more user friendly.

How P2P works?
I'm looking to target lebanese people since I'm lebanese too, there is only 1 site here that operate here and their making millions per day, my website is only match betting for now, might add live slots later on depends on the request, Now I'm gonna explain few things, lebanese people have been struggling to use their money online due to the economic crisis here, so what's the plan is the deposit method will be face 2 face, I have agents that can take care of it, for example I gave the agent X, 40 million LBP, his job is to sell those 40 million LBP on site to people for real cash, after that I collect the money from the agents and turn them into USDT, I could explain more and more how things work but trust me there is ALOT of money to be made and I need a little push

I could share the business plan in dms

Investment:
We are looking for somebody who can invest anything between $1000 and higher. Investors will receive a portion/percentage of the project, which includes full access to our admin panel. This percentage or portion can be discussed and negotiated over in my inbox (linked below). You will also be able to develop the website and supply us with more ideas for updates and futuristic plans.

Hi Mitch.

Please understand that as you have a status of "newbie" on this forum, almost everyone is not going to trust you. Especially not with their money. Furthermore, if you want to build trust, we will need more than a short wall of text.

Who are you working with? Can you prove how much work you put into the project already? Do you have a developed business plan that you can show your potential investors?

Until we see proof of your projects legitimacy and when you vouch with your real identity then we can talk about trust. Until then, I doubt anyone here will invest even a single Satoshi.
2893  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 16, 2022, 08:21:53 PM

40% increase. At this point, anyone holding on to dollars, or any fiat, is basically a victim of boiling frog syndrome. Slowly getting cooked alive without even realising. Just like the boiling frog. Remember that horrific science experiment?

I think holding on to fiat at this point is more psychological than anything else. It takes people their entire life to save up a decent amount, of course they will want to keep everything "as is". Sad though.
2894  Economy / Economics / Re: Thailand ban using crypto for payments on: April 15, 2022, 10:23:18 PM

And how exactly are the authorities of the Thailand government going to restrict people from paying with crypto? This is something which seems more or less impossible to me. Even China with their outright bans cannot keep people from mining and using crypto, so what chance does Thailand think it has?

Perhaps Thailand is just trying to get the price down so they can fill their bags, eh?  Roll Eyes

Either way, I doubt this is going to have any kind of impact other than a short-lived PR stunt for financial regulators or something.

if anything, "bad" Bitcoin PR is still PR. So thanks, Thailand! Grin Grin Grin
2895  Economy / Gambling / Re: Another New Rule On Gambling Adverts Ban Celebrities and Sports Stars on: April 15, 2022, 09:35:27 PM
Quoted from bbc.com news

https://www.bbc.com/news/business-60994728
Quote
Starting in October, gambling companies will not be allowed to use stars to target children under 18, the Advertising Practices Committee said.

Anyone with a "strong appeal" to young people, such as footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and Love Island star Chris Hughes, should not appear in advertisements.

The body representing betting companies said it welcomed the new rules.

Michael Dugher, chief executive of the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) said the changes build on industry-led measures designed to "raise standards and ensure further protection in advertising."

The Advertising Practices Committee (CAP) said the "hard" new rules were part of its commitment to protecting young people and vulnerable audiences.

The new rules state that gambling and lottery advertisements must not "be a strong attraction to children or youth, especially by reflecting or being associated with youth culture".

References to video game content and gameplay popular with under-18s are also against the new rules.

There is opposition to gambling advertisements among some politicians, parents, and awareness campaigning groups around gambling addiction.

What impact will be received by gambling companies, both fiat and crypto, because we know that gambling companies use celebrities to boost the popularity of these gambling sites?

In terms of promotion, the gambling company may change its strategy in using these celebrities or use an age limit for those allowed to see these advertisements.

But from another perspective, it doesn't seem easy to do because children under 18 years old may already know how to see the ad. But indeed, the problem of gambling addiction is a very serious problem that needs everyone's attention. They can play gambling but with strict terms and conditions.

That seems extremely arbitrary to me. Who is to say which stars appeal to children and which ones do not? If the famous footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo is considered a child favorite star, even though like 98% of his fans are adults, then what about any stars in movies or shows? Children watch tv too.

I like that there is more concern about gambling and keeping children away from habits which can be harmful to their development, but in this case, it would rather seem like they are just using children as an excuse to give themselves dicator-like power over gambling casinos.

Or is there a list of "forbidden stars"?
2896  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Project Idea - Decentralized Twatter on: April 15, 2022, 03:17:52 PM
As pooya87 said, there isn't such thing, because of lack of incentive. In block chains, the users verify every single information they receive. How will this work in a “Decentralized Twitter”? Will they download every single message, image, video, podcast etc.? I hope you understand how impractical this is.

Either the users download the whole social platform in their hard drive or they have to use a third party. It's that simple.

Exactly this.

It seems unrealistic and not to mention expensive. The miners need a good incentive to keep mining and the amount of data being downloaded by everyone would be astronomical! So I doubt anyone could make a decentralised Twitter in this form without demanding some kind of fee, at least in the very beginning.

Perhaps the idea might become more do-able if you cross out the options of posting pictures or anything that needs a lot of storage space. Maybe limiting it to 80-100 Characters as some kind of simplistic Twitter version? But even then, at some point in the future, the amount of data becomes too huge.

And then you still have the issue of incentivizing the miners. Would they accept token payment if there is nothing generating value behind it?
2897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN NOW A LEGAL TENDER IN SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE OF HONDURAS. on: April 15, 2022, 03:10:52 PM
Good on Honduras!

Despite being a small country with a relatively small population, they seem to know how to create a good and prosperous future for their citizens. I do not know if Honduras has been subject to much financial corruption, but with Bitcoin that will definitely see an end.

Although I am not sure about the "special economic zone" of Honduras. My understanding was that the ruling of legal tender was for the entire country? Perhaps they want to do a test zone with Bitcoin before fully expanding the law fully to the entire population?
2898  Economy / Gambling / Re: Watching Our Kids From Something That Could Dangerous To Them on: April 15, 2022, 12:58:55 PM
We must teach our children the value of time, money and effort. Otherwise they can fall into wrong path easily and it might be damage their next 5-10-15 and even their life. Gambling is required some kind of patience and intelligence skills luck isnt enough only.
I am not sure about other community - but in our community parents have a  very strict  check on their kids. Even if kids play adult games they do it in hidden.
But replying to OP - I think the mobile phone and internet time should be controlled. Giving kids freedom of everything is inviting trouble!
I also have a strict parents and even my relatives, they don’t let their Children to expose much of their time on their mobile phones which I think is really good, I’m also living on a country where we don’t tolerate much of this thing but sometimes, things are really uncontrolled by the parents. Proper guidance is the key here, if they get exposed on gambling that could be a big trouble for the whole family.
Just avoid them on things which you do seem that would really potentially affect their future. It might not really be that perfect since we cant monitor them 24/7 and now that we are on a digital age where
everything could easily be accessed out which means that they are really that prone into different things not only on gambling but also in pornography which is something not that really
good to see if our kids do really make out some engagement like that.

As parents, keeping them under tight control can be both beneficial and harmful. Of course, it is impossible to keep them 7/24 under control. Neither they nor we are robots. That's why they needs our guidance to keep forwarding on right path. If we give them the right clue, they can come to the right conclusion by themselves.

I would have to partially disagree with some of what you said. For example the part with keeping children under tight control could be both beneficial and harmful. I doubt that this can be as beneficial as it is harmful.

While I completely understand and empathize with parents wanting the best possible security for their children, its just wrong to deny them the priviledge of learning from their own mistakes.

Thats how everyone grows up, making mistakes and learning from them. Thats the only way to become a better person.

Take gambling for example: once the child loses their monthly allowance, they will feel the consequences of their actions and no longer will want to lose money by gambling ever again. A parents nagging is a mere annoyance which might actually have the opposite effect and your kid will do bad things just to go against you.
2899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrop in 2022 on: April 14, 2022, 09:02:07 PM
Anyone still joins airdrops this day? If Yes which platform are you using to participate in Airdrops? I'm using coinmarketcap but I never get a single payment from projects on the platform.

I think most airdrops which can be worth anything should be coming from listed tokens/coins. Anything else is worthless 99% of the time. They are usually used as cheap marketing tactic to lure in newbies. Especially new projects that are looking for funding for a ridiculous idea that will never get funded.

And who is going to do long extensive research on the project just to earn a few dollars worth of airdrop? Nobody.

So, unless the coin/token is listed or you have done your research and think its a good project, don't waste your time.
