2981  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $300 this month? on: October 16, 2015, 05:51:00 PM
I don't think there will be such a steady rise as we've seen lately, I think it will close around $270-280 by the end of the year. I won't be sad if it reaches $300 or more of course hehe.
2982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoin was a worst decision of my life on: October 16, 2015, 03:04:19 AM
I'm very new to Bitcoin and I'm so glad to hear some people still support it even with all the ups, downs and scams. On the other hand, I understand OP position, we are all in the same boat, Bitcoin can be worth thousands or nothing in the next years. With other investments, you can lose money, but there's a least a natural course of action. With Bitcoin we never know and that's both terrifying and awesome!
2983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the hottest alt coin right now? on: October 16, 2015, 02:58:31 AM
In terms of gain and trading value it's clearly Digibyte, 500% rise in the last days at its peak.
2984  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how to exchange bitcoin to paypal? on: October 16, 2015, 02:54:28 AM
I've never tried but I may eventually need to so I'm also curious about this, my advise is that you need to be careful of scammers. You may get your money but Paypal transactions can be refunded later on so there's always that possibility, that's how they do it.
2985  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Now PayPal accounts can be funded with Bitcoin on: October 16, 2015, 02:49:16 AM
This is good news, I think if Bitcoin price continues to be relatively stable services like this will be more reliable and avalable. VirWox is ok, I've used it and it was fine but the fees were ridiculous. We need more serious exchanges that accept Paypal or pay for your Bitcoins in Paypal, mostly worldwide. I know there are a lot of security and identity concerns but I feel it's improving month by month.
2986  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Have you tried XAPO debit card? on: October 16, 2015, 02:41:51 AM
I would like to try it but I won't be paying that high fee to get it just yet. While Xapo is nice and all, I think the whole security stuff is a little overdone, I guess there was a lot of issues to justify this in the Bitcoin community, but to access your wallet sometimes you have to bypass three different security walls, password, pin and security sms code.
2987  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I grow my btc? on: October 16, 2015, 02:38:43 AM
I think crypto trading if done right can increase your account. I was on it for some weeks but it took too much of my time so it's not for me, but I did made a nice profit. This involved doing plenty of research but if you are up for it and you invest a good amount at the right time, you can definitely double it.

I had a good amount of Digibyte and it went to the roof in the last days, however I reckon most altcoins are relatively stable lately (at least the established ones, like Litecoin, Doge, etc).

2990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★DigiByte|极特币★★[DGB]✔$250k Investment, DigiByte Gaming, #DigiByteTip, DigiSpeed on: October 15, 2015, 01:05:03 AM
If this can stay above 100SAT next few hours im all in. This coin is a rare steal IMO.
If you are long term I think you can't lose but don't bet the farm especially on just a days trading.
I love to see new community members in here but I don't like to see them join our community, bet all their btc and then see their investment dwindle away because they have failed to look at this as a long term investment or managed their risk if the price goes south.
It leaves them feeling bitter and they often blame the developers and other community members and they are not the ones at fault.
I'm not saying that this is what is going to happen, I'm just saying be careful because things have looked good before and then taken a nose dive and if this turns out to be a pnd, that is what to expect.
It all depends on who is supporting the market, why they are doing it and I just don't have the answer to those questions right now.

Yes I agree, I mean people can speculate and trade away all they want, but that's the difference with DGB, even with its ups and downs one can clearly see the passion and work involved behind the project. When you look away from the numbers and focus on the project itself, how it works, the attention to detail and the people running it then you clearly see this is a long term investment.

Amazing, I don't know much about trading or crypto as I'm a newbie in all this but this is one of the very few crypto I've bought and the only one I kept blind faith on as I saw so much potential. I really feel the majority of altcoins are garbage, scams or just hobbies, but this was the only one I saw true development and real people behind the project. I've never seen a such a rise in price and volume, any other examples from established altcoins? Just curious.

Anyway, I admit I've sold a part of my dgbs today but not all of them and I don't think I will ever do, hopefully I'll start using them soon and they reach an ever higher value and demand. Go team DGB!
2992  Economy / Gambling / Re: Your bet in slots? on: October 08, 2015, 04:54:52 PM
I don't understand what's the appeal with slots, is a complete waste of money if you ask me, there's absolutely no skill involved and you are completely exposed to the house edge and dishonesty. But some people may wish they hit the jackpot sometime. You can win a luxury car in Vegas and maybe that's the appeal for some. To me it's like playing the lotto but x100 more expensive.

I've read that you have a better chance in becoming a movie star than winning the lottery!
2993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No One Cares About You on: October 08, 2015, 04:49:10 PM
Bitcoin needs to find a proper niche where it is actually used not spectulated with (right now the only market is the illegal one if we are honest). This niche could be either for paying for small services/subscriptions/apps/entertainment or for larger transactions like buying real estate, cars, etc. As the fees are so low and there's no middle men the last one also makes sense.

However for that to happen every government will be all over it and be the first in line to collect taxes, so I really don't know what's the future for Bitcoin. It's ten times easier to pay with credit cards or paypal than it is to use Bitcoin for common people. Bitcoin is just a new way of thinking and fresh technology but mainstream implementation is still very unclear.
2994  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No One Cares About You on: October 08, 2015, 04:40:16 PM
Well I don't mind paying high taxes if in 10 years I would be a Bitcoin millonaire, it would be nice to avoid them of course. And if Bitcoin is scarce and demanded in the near future I think it would be much easier to convert it to fiat or whatever goods/currency you need, just like gold or silver now.

But maybe there's no need, we'll all be just wealthy in Bitcoin and we could buy whatever we want with it.

It's a nice thing to dream about, but I don't think it's very logical. A more probable situation is that in ten years Bitcoin price would be anywhere around $0-10.000 USD. No more, no less  Undecided
2995  Economy / Gambling / Re: Challenge: What's the best way to win 1 BTC with 1 BTC? on: October 07, 2015, 03:12:13 AM
This is what I did some weeks ago with a smaller amount, it was about 0.1 BTC I think but in another cryptocurrency. I had it in a dice wallet and as I had to transfer it to my main one and then back to BTC so I thought what the hell, let's try to double it. I'm not a betting guy, that's very important since you have to be very cold and be prepared to lose it all.

The strategy may have been mentioned before and it's very simple: Bet 50%, if you win, you're out (I know that's not your goal, but you can try again next day or when you feel like it) if you lose, try again to regain the money (now you reallly are at risk of lose it all).

I've won on the first play and never gamble it again. So if you are lucky you would have 1.5 BTC, bet again in the next days to achieve your goal or go back to square one. It's basically like playing it all at once, but with a safety net, you won't be dead if you lose it all in the first play. You also avoid exposure to the house edge.

All other systems that require hundreds of bets are useless when you consider the house edge, you'll LOSE. Setting up some rules and limits like this will clear your head and you won't be exposed in the heat of the moment.
2996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The ‘eBay of Latin America’ Announces Bitcoin Plans on: October 07, 2015, 03:08:35 AM
I did, I'm from South America so it's very used here, it's not only for regular people selling services and used goods but there's also plenty of official stores and even brands selling their products there, so it's kinda like Amazon in a sense, which have both options.

The only thing that can be confusing is that it's not like South America is like the States, you don't buy products from Argentina in Brazil. There's a Mercado Libre for every country, like there's eBay in the UK, Spain, etc.
2997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The ‘eBay of Latin America’ Announces Bitcoin Plans on: October 05, 2015, 09:16:37 PM
Yes OLX it's taking a huge dent at the market, but it's kinda craiglist I think isn't it? There's no reputation/ratings, etc and payment is handled offline. I think both services can co-exist.

Thanks to DigiByte Group, it might be one of the only times I've won anything hehe. Like I said before, I've blind faith in the project and I'm so glad to be onboard!
2999  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Google Is the New Evil Empire on: October 03, 2015, 09:34:45 PM
It's not that I don't see your point, we can put this debate to rest, I definitely agree that my future brain (or self? we don't even know!) should be open source and not owned or managed by Google or Apple if that's an option. I'm arguing that to think there would be an option is rather pointless or wishful thinking. Wilikon (aka Neo Socrates) is definitely right to think that knowledge should be shared and not sold as merchandise or used for profit. But we live in a world where we are discussing water to no longer be an human right? What's next? Air of course.

These companies are monopolies, they cast you out of business or cast you out of life altogether. We do have alternatives to e-mail if you don't want to use Gmail, but you don't have real alternatives to many other products that are industry standards (like the Adobe analogy I mentioned a while back). You can't be on Facebook, Skype or Whatsapp by signing up with an alternative because the rest just don't use it. You can argue that you don't need it in order to live, but soon you end up only communicating with your old land line phone.

So I can definitely envision 55% of the people using Google artificial brain, 35% using Apple's and then 5-10% some inferior command-based linux-powered get-your-own-server ones that can't even keep up or are incompatible with the latest "brain apps" like virtual sex or snowboarding on the moon. You'll be missing out!

I'm kidding of course but it will always be like that to me and that's the only part we disagree.
3000  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Investing Bitcoin help on: October 03, 2015, 12:27:53 AM
There is no trustworthy bitcoin site that can guarantee a profit except maybe moneypot.com if your jurisdiction allows gambling sites. Investing in gambling sites will allow for a 1% profit over a very long term. Not big but it has a high probability.

To me a gambling site has to make much more than that, something is up. I'm not saying Money Pot is scamming people, I've checked Monero Dice and they are the core members of Monero and the site loses money everyday? There would be no casinos if that's the profit. Perhaps in a month of investing lets say you get 1% like you mentioned. Investing 1-10 BTC then it's not worth the risk nor the trouble really. And less than that really what's the point?
