301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Bminer: a fast Equihash/Ethash/CuckooCycle miner for AMD/NVIDIA GPUs 12.1.0 on: January 18, 2019, 04:31:33 PM
I've noticed Bminer seems to be less forgiving on overclocks than GrinGoldMiner.
I was running the latter to mine GRIN for 36 hours non-stop... Bminer is 20% faster at the same settings, but has crashed my rig 3 times in 2 hours.

Running GTX 1080's @ +0 core, +400 mem, ETHlargement pill

do you even need the enlargement pill ? , gringoldminer is rock solid , ill take slower and steady over crashing all day.

Also bminer has major issues with pool diff and doesnt work on grinmint

lots of work needs to be done before i switch

very unstable on rigs that run the standard miner for days at end
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: January 06, 2019, 05:47:39 AM
If they decide to go with the switch, I don't think it will be rolled out in the next 2-4 months. Most likely by the next ETH fork which is probably going to be in about a year or so.

In my opinion they should of just switched to this algo at the upcoming 2 week Constatine fork. The ETH devs already knew about these ETH ASICs which created a huge hashrate jump out of nowhere. I don't see a point in switching at the next fork because the following fork will be a POS fork which will disable GPU mining anyways.

I think ETH will go progpow and stay with it for years to come.

Bottom line is this pos does not work.

It is basically a bank cd and no fdic on it.

Or a bond without insurance.

I done a lot of enconomic study and gpu mining is essential as the gamer-miner is big for mining and crypto adoption.

Maybe progpow can bring it back.

yeah hopefull once eth does progpow , it pushes ZEC to move to something else too.  I can imagine bit-main and their shills are worried now , I know it sucks but I would like this downturn to proceed till 2020 ti
really put asic makers in a deep hole they can't get out of

306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: WildRig Multi: new miner for AMD with multialgo support on: December 24, 2018, 09:44:16 PM
any tips on how to use getwork and mine direct to wallet with wildrig ?

tried that using coinbase as user

wildrig_avx.exe --algo mtp --opencl-threads 1 --opencl-launch 16x0 --url http://192.168.0.15:8382 --user a8rGMA67WQ2DkTU6XYtsgjjFzSxKBFP7B6

this works for ccminer

ccminer.exe -a mtp -o http://192.168.0.15:8382 -u zcoin -p x --no-getwork --coinbase-addr a8rGMA67WQ2DkTU6XYtsgjjFzSxKBFP7B6

Start the miner once as Admin, then reboot.

@Andru: New version seems stable. Will watch for few more hours.

@Others: Octominer board needs command --good-risers.

ahd to open a command promt to run it as admin, any reason why right click run as admin doesnt work on win10 ?

309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: WildRig Multi: new miner for AMD with multialgo support on: December 21, 2018, 08:46:41 PM
Added HUGE PAGES support for faster memory operations(probably will need fresh Windows start to allocate that mem), fixed some things(hope it will help with "donation finished" problem) and improved memory operations for generating MerkleTree in general.
https://github.com/andru-kun/wildrig-multi/releases/tag/0.15.0

after reboot i still see huge mem support : FALSE

when miner starts

share the MTP version smh before somone else beats you to the punch don't u want your fee
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8-GPU rig in 4U rack case on: December 18, 2018, 06:52:45 AM
proccessor is too weak, ram can probaby be sweapped out but an i3 or higer is best for rigs now due to algos like mtp
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin (XZC) - Implementing Zerocoin technology for financial privacy on: December 18, 2018, 06:14:30 AM
ccminer is garbage. there must be a better miner some of us dont know about. how else is there 8gh/s + network hashrate

it it the pools or the miner tho ? The miner has been stable for all six of my rigs for two days , but all of a sudden today stratum errors on the pool and now all my rigs went down

313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin (XZC) - Implementing Zerocoin technology for financial privacy on: December 14, 2018, 07:48:59 AM
is there a bounty for an opencl miner ? kinda not fair this is nvidia only

its not an error the miner is just slow as fuck
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH network hashrate going to the moon!!!! on: December 12, 2018, 03:44:46 PM
I'm using 1060 3GB on HiveOS right now to mine ETH. I . havent checked ETC which is a few Epochs ahead of ETH. However I'm still mining ETH with them.

I thought 3gb cards are goid till march 2019
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH network hashrate going to the moon!!!! on: December 12, 2018, 05:58:37 AM
I remember telling people here not to worry about the 4GB not being enough GDDR for mining ETH in the future or worrying about the upcoming ETH POS transistion, I told them that ETH will most likely not be profitable in terms of high difficulty and low price and its basically exactly what happened.

People were investing in 1080Ti instead of the cheaper RX 570 4GB because they were worried about the #300 Epoch which took it over 4GB. Or they were worried about it going POS and providing no mining reward what-so-ever.

However what killed it essentially was not the ASICs but it was its very low price when it broke the $150 mark or so.

without asics $100 and $150 would still have been profitable, but yeah you’re right about the 4g problem
eth was supposed to be pos by now.

the only good thing about the death of mining is now our fears of what will be profitable to mine when eth goes pos is gone lol.  There’s nothing profitable now with power greater that 4 cents
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH network hashrate going to the moon!!!! on: December 12, 2018, 04:56:18 AM
soon amd is coming with a rx polaris or vega gddr6 that will do 70mh/s for $230 and everything will be going to ash hehe and the funny thing is that troll superiority of 70 mhs card will last only few days to few months cause pos is coming and trolls will be in debt hehe, gpu mining is almost dead trolls, enjoy your peanuts of profits, whereas i earn 1000% in few months buying and selling coins, you trolls earn peanuts mining hehe

I agree.  Mining is for straight up losers.  I only bought 34 gpus nvidia rigs to hedge my risk when crypto's where in the sky.  Im 90 percent coin buyer, 10 percent miner.

If my electric rate wasn't 28 cents I would be very much in profit each day.    But I have to just pay the electric price and hold onto it for better times.  This always gets you more money in the long run.  And who cares what you mine it for today.  Its all about your sell price in the future that brings in the real profits.

1080 ti is the best mining device for those that have high electric rates.
vega 20 won’t do more than 50 eth and will cost at least 300, polaris will have life till 2020
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ravencoin Dev confirms no ASIC Fork unless 80% hash agrees to fork. GG GPU Miner on: December 11, 2018, 09:10:01 PM
all these fake devs ahowing thier true colors, wasn’t Raven commited to adding new algos periodically to fight off fpgas and asics , glad i stopped mining that trash
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin (XZC) - Implementing Zerocoin technology for financial privacy on: December 11, 2018, 08:24:48 AM
hash rate drops significantly over time with the djim miner
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain rumor says 740 Mil - Q3 Loss on: December 11, 2018, 06:14:34 AM
new tech thats old.  The other guys have a 40th about to be out and I still would not touch that with a 10ft poll.  Also USA tariffs at 28% is a USA killer so i doubt many US peeps buying anying mining in china.  Especially now in a depressed state.

honestly I doubt the usa is a large portion of thier sales.  Russia and china and even sone middle east countries have way cheaper than the us.  Theres also canada where most of the north american farms are.

BCC and price drop of cryto is thier bigger issue
