301  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coronavirus Outbreak on: September 10, 2021, 07:55:34 AM
I have some familiarity with a certain SE Asian country where three interesting things happened:

 - A massive grant of 'special drawing rights' from the IMF.

 - A new program of leaving society more or less open, but having very tight specific neighborhood lockdowns where a 'threat' is 'detected.'

 - Trials of CanSino aerosolized gene therapy product to address the 'covid' issue bioweapon.

One doesn't really have to be a rocket scientist to connect the dots here.  The 'Can' part of CanSino appears to be an artifact of working with an organization in Canada at some point at least early on.  The 'Sino' part is fairly self explanatory, and it is proudly advertised that a lot of their research is in cooperation with the Chinese military. ('Cansino' is also the surname of a very old and powerful family ironically(?).)

As best I can tell this is yet another 'adenovirus' product.  That has been the go-to for doing DNA gene insertions within the gene therapy field for decades.

---

For someone with a little bit of understanding of this stuff...and a strong desire to not have myself or my family's genetics modified by whatever Bill Gates wants to put in...a fairly obvious defense would be to get some 'natural' adenovirus of the strain used as the gene insertion carrier.  Probably Ad5.  Then mist up with that and let one's immune system develop a response against it.  That would, hopefully, minimized the infection with whatever goodie Gates and Fausti have cooked up and are starting(?) to spread around.

If anyone knows of a market for unmodified adenovirus of various flavors, please let us know.

oh i miss the wet markets, lots of virus out there..i'm gonna go virus shopping hehe  Cheesy

misused technically but not misused business wise.
if you buy that with an "asic" in mind then you are good to go. but if you buy that with "video card" in mind, that will fuck you up later on.

That ambiguity is the problem. If everyone gets it right from the begining there's no confusion.
"ASIC" has not only become a synonym for "ASIC miner" but also "FPGA miner", and now it's being expanded to include "CMP".

just keep open minded about the business perspective, it was "business" that created this abomination in the first place LOL

AMD just have to put a video output and they already out competed NVIDIA LOL call it radeon VIII. The architecture might be a bit slower or at par with 3080ti for gaming but if you don't want to mine (bear market vibes) anymore, some gamers will grab that "video card" any day vs 3070 ti or lesser cards.  Wink

Mining/ASIC

The term ASIC seems to be misused, a little clarity...

CMP is not an ASIC, it's a vector processing platform.
A GPU is a vector processor on a graphics card.
Vector processors are used in supercomputers.
A processor can run any application via software.
ASIC is an Application Specific Integrated Circuit, not a synonym for miner.
An ASIC can only run the specific application it's designed for.
An ASIC miner is a miner built with ASICs designed for mining a specific algorithm.

So I guess the rumor that we heard back a few months ago is finally true. What is the MSRP for this GPU like $3000 or so?

I think the bigger issue will be supply. How many of these GPUs will Nvidia actually make? I have a feeling they are just producing this for marketing reasons and not really to turn a profit. After R&D they are probably going to lose money on ever GPU sold.

In the end... I don't think Nvidia releasing this GPU will make the difficulty rise too much. The bigger issue miners got right now are those ASics which are being released that hash in the Gh's and are crazy efficient compared to GPUs.

innosilicon a11 pro 2000MH at 2500w

CMP 170HX 165MH at 250w x 10 = 1650MH at 2500w

it is very close to asic performance and has the ability to mine other coins, the price vs asics is what we should watch closely hehe

305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvida CMP 170HX 164MH/s on: September 04, 2021, 04:56:36 AM
This year there were many different ASICs with hash rates above 2 Gigahesh, for example Linzhi Phoenix Miner, but the profit is still good.
Ordinary miners will not get these video cards, I think large companies will buy these video cards.
Vitalik promised us a POS algorithm, but it seems to me that it will be postponed again.

i would not call it video cards, having no video output means it is an asic.

remember you need other pc components plus OS to use this asic.

I predicted hbm2e cards can do 200mh..we'll see after some optimization and tweaks.

at 250w, this card might be cool enough.

price should not be more expensive than 3090 or at max around the price of 3090, it may have an expensive vram but they cheap out on other components since it is for mining only.

..since no video outputs(compute card), we can already call it an asic, an asic that requires a board, processor, ssd, ram, psu to run so the price of this compute card should not be directly proportional to asic's price-hash ratio, this compute card should be cheaper than asics and also no resell value to gamers.

It seems this card is locked, no overclocking is allowed, not sure if somebody will find a way to unlock it, reason I said this is more like an asic than a gpu, well some asics you can overclock. I guess nvidia will sell these cards based on how the market is paying for 1mhs eth per dollar, so meaning, lets say a 3070 does 64 unlocked, locked 32mhs, so 170mhs / 32 = 5.3, so how much a 3070 lhr is being sold for? 1000 usd, so meaning, minimum this product will be sold for at least 5000 usd.

Here, there is an article saying it will cost 2000 to 3000, if that is right then they are taking a 3070 unlocked rather than a locked price based, https://wccftech.com/nvidia-cmp-170hx-cryptocurrency-mining-monster-card-spotted-ampere-ga100-gpu-164-mh-s/

...NVIDIA CMP 220HX is 210MHs ..yup 200mhs prediction hit  Cheesy

they locked the gpus to sell asics at the price of unlocked gpus......i'm gonna go with 3090's and 3080ti's  Grin

my 3080ti's still in ergo (265mh at 280w)so can't say anything concrete for ETH mining besides nbminer lhr sauce is still new.

what pool does ergo?

ergo.nanopool.org

ergo.herominers.com

i'm on nanopool, hashrate is big enough to wait for 5 ERG payout (didn't check if there is an option to reduce payouts)

checked user settings in nanopool, i think minimum payout can be adjusted to 1 ERG

Im new to crypto mining and it's just been few weeks already, I'm going away on vacation just few days is it safe to leave my rig running? I can monitor through Nicehash app

i traveled in the past with the rigs turned on because i know every inch of the setup, electrical wires, cooling, rigs etc..but since you are newb the answer is NO
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 3080ti thread for smos. on: September 03, 2021, 01:58:19 AM
try nbminer with the lhr unlock(a percentage) for ETH, i did ergo for months with the 3080ti, ergo did 5$ to 18$, good returns.

tested lhr 100 on nbminer i've seen 70mhs at around 130watts, lhr 70 is 75mhs at 230watts...(watts info is nbminer software)(stability not yet tested).

play with core clocks and power limit (turn these down) but the the memory clocks should be clocked higher.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto feel good story: Texas kids make $32,000/month mining ethereum on: September 02, 2021, 10:53:47 AM

here is one line you can use to repel nagging clueless social circle noobs who can't/won't/don't understand anything, blinded by get rich quick attempt with no brains behind any action/s taken/to be taken.

me: ..i was recommending it back then (2013), i got lucky but i'm out, yeah i made money but i have no idea where it is going, can be up or down or anything..i'm done with crypto and i have no more coins left.

I dont even bother, last time a friend came to ask about crypto, I said to him, I dont know anything about it, period.

Anyway, this 32k monthly is pure bs, like I said before, to get that much, need a huge installation plus a lot of money 600k usd minimum and a lot of dedication and work, if a short circuit happens, chances are high that all the hardware will be fried, mining is hard, dangerous and truly not worth the hassle.

you are a bit rough hehe.

a lot of these noobs haven't done anything electrical wiring yet, assembling mining rig is just 1 part.

i have a mining site soon to go online where the entrance door have metal grills and the door will be stainless steel customized for strength/security.

this mining shit is no joke and people are just spreading bullshit like mining is a kids playground LOL. the site i've been working on is hidden, nobody(neighbors) should know and see anything  Cheesy

313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto feel good story: Texas kids make $32,000/month mining ethereum on: September 02, 2021, 05:13:17 AM
The case in point is --> this article is extreme sensationalist, they know people will read because if a boy 14 and a girl 9 make 32k per month anybody can do and is easy, so people think this is easy money and they will get into it till they see the media lied to them, there are lots of lies that the media tell to people and then the people end up suffering because of their own greed and lack of researching about it, in 2018 was the same thing but this time they are much more aggressive.

Yeah there are a few people in my social circle that heard that I am in crypto. And every few months or so, usually during bull markets I get texts and calls about them wanting to join in and get involved.

It usually goes 1 or 2 ways.

First one is some guy who says they got like $10K and they want me to turn it into "only $100K" doing something crypto related. Like making 10x gains is something that is easily done.

Another is someone who wants to mine. They are mad that they can't use their Smartphone, Laptop or i3 desktop. They ask if they invest $1K in "crypto hardware" how long until their $1K investment becomes $100K?

Usually conversation ends in them thinking I am lying to them and keep it a secret to reap all the benefits or they discover that crypto might not be a "get rich quick" scheme.

i'm warning you LOL Grin

if "YOU THINK/CALCULATED" you can ROI your GPU purchase. then grab some.

ROI = price doesn't matter  Wink

A security key like Yubikey is the safest 2FA option. Theoretically, a hacker could gain access to your software 2FA authentication account, but a Yubikey requires physical access to use, similar to a hardware wallet and is something a hacker can't do. It also has an authenticator app to use 2FA on websites that don't support using security keys. The Yubico authenticator app requires the Yubikey to use, so it's safer than using 2FA apps like Google Authenticator or Authy.

for people who are still on google authenticator for sites that doesn't support yubikey yet, at least dedicate a smartphone that has no sim and wifi is always off. i got an old samsung with a huge battery mod it can do over a week without charging.

as for hardware keys, you can also use trezor as a hardware key.
318  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the Best type of Government? on: August 23, 2021, 09:10:31 AM

LOL where are your freedoms now in this covid shitshow? democracy was invented in the time where there is no efficient worldwide communications and transportation.

how many democratic governments waged meaningless wars, became poor (at least for majority of the population)...or in other words--gets corrupted?

for us humans to move forward we have to reinvent ourselves.

maybe you can democratically decide to have a guillotine outside of congress and presidential palace where if a politician breaks a threshold of failures can directly be sent for public execution decided by decentralized autonomous organization (DAO)--a population, on public TV. maybe i'll consider buying a TV.. LOL

What I mean is the best type of Government is democracy that having a freedom, a ruler who guide us , a government will support us but I may not mean that this flow of democratic right now. Yes you have a point and I will not argue on your asking me about freedom and coruption, but the person who just entered politics was abused their power of Government and not the Government rules are wrong but person who entered an had a bad intention of his/her country are the real wrong.

anyone who have good intentions can be usurped, corrupted/bought, assassinated and/or have a change of heart. putting a person or a group to lead is a weak point. everyone has selfish interest.

you think you have freedom? it is subjective (depends on where your mind operates LOL). you are a sheeple. in any form of government the richer and powerful you are the more free you become  Wink

some idiots focused on complaining to trezor instead on explaining that he should get their trezor since it is an unregulated item.
May alam ka bang link para mabasa din namin yung buong detalye [wala kasi akong makita apart dun sa mga picture na pinost mo]?

some people from UPS and/or customs stole trezors.

Links:

i just deduced from the situation.

usb flash drive is a regulated product, it is either they knew (probably they know because it is their one and only job) or they said that(hardware wallet) usb device is a regulated product.

mouse and keyboard are not regulated BTW but sound cards and video cards are. https://www.pntr.gov.ph/sound-cards-or-video-cards/ regulating body is called optical media board (OMV).

just use the Philippine national trade repository for references if customs become an issue and when buying imported stuff.
