The exact same amount of DigiBytes are coming into circulation. Before we had 2,880 blocks per day. Now we have 5760 per day. So this is why we reduced block reward by 50% right away. We did the #'s on the first 24 hours and hit that block count pretty much right on the number. We have pushed out v4.0.2 to several servers and seed nodes and it appears to have dramatically improved the reorg issues and propogation problems. If anyone wants to help me try out a possible solution to the network issues please try pulling https://github.com/digibyte/digibyte/pull/40. My theory is that the network is basically DoSing itself and that if enough nodes stop doing that things will return to normal. We are testing this out at the moment with a 4.0.2 build. It appears some of the propagation changes may be adding to some of the problems mining pools are experiencing right now. In testing we simulated multiple miners and multiple nodes, but in a real world setting with many more variables there is always an unknown. Stay tuned, we are working on it. Cheers. |

I found this coin through the league of legends promotion. Getting free DBG for playing has now caused me to buy a bunch more as well!
I think this promotion has very good potential, but I think the referral program for it could be improved to really reward people for referring many users.
I think that the current system of getting 5000 free DBG if you refer 3 friends should be changed to add a 10% (or something) payment for all coins earned by your referrals.
This would incentivize 'famous' league of legends players to refer their fanbase, which could result in some massive growth of the userbase. Imagine if one of the top LoL streamers started promoting digibyte in their stream to tens of thousands of their viewers? They could probably get thousands of people to sign up.
That's a very good idea. However we need to be careful to not look like one of those ponzi schemes. It could be a bad profile aswell I agree. I'd be in favor of a payout for every referral. So, maybe something like 60 or 100 DGB for each referral confirmed as a new member - and a person could make as many referrals as they wanted. But, I don't think that we should go anywhere near the multi-level-marketing scheme of getting a percentage of your referees' payouts. Thank you very much for your input. This is a very good idea. miners-pool.eu is finding nothing but orphans on qubit, nobody is mining skein or groestl on there.
Most of blocks found are rejected by the network later... I used 3 different wallets location, all of them on a powerful server with good Internet connection. Now this coin is too fast. Only the most powerful pool can find blocks. Jared I'm not sure than reducing the block target to 15s was a good idea. I got the same problem: wallet v.4.0, scrypt algo, pool reports 300 found blocks, but actually I receive only 30 of them. 90% was rejected on the network. Looks weird. Dev D6Mjh5H7WjPVAg1626Apgk8ELmzhagXZDr here is my address, you can check it. There is some thing wrong with wallet, for example, sharkcoin got 20 second block target, and I got only 5% orphans on it. And again, the block target is >1 minute on each algo, so it doesn't matter. Or maybe you implement the same feature, as digital coin does: • Algorithm Control - If the last three blocks were discovered by the same algorithm, the fourth block will be rejected until its found by one of the other two algorithms. This prevents directed attacks on the network from any single algorithm. Or the goldcoin-like shield: only 6 blocks per 5 minutes(or something loke that), the rest will be orphaned anyway by the wallet? That will explain everything. It appears there is a fair amount of mining still occurring on the v3.0 wallets. We are working on an update to auto disconnect these peers. This should help with the orphan rate dramatically. In the mean time transactions are still getting processed normally. |

Let's do the math.... 21 Billion DGB in 21 years with 30 second blocks. 15 second blocks means double the amount of coins coming in to circulation unless there is not a %50 reduction. There is no filter, old wallet version can connect to the new one  many peers 3.0x are still connected, even if you restart the wallet. No way to prevent this before hardfork. Will add that soon in next release. Note that digiexplorer is simply a visual overlay that's not 100% accurate at the moment. Look at your core wallet "digibyted getinfo" for true network stats right now. We are working on updating digiexplorer. All is looking good! Cheers! |

My Windows 64bit v4.0 wallet has been synchronising with the network forever and it just stays on 43 weeks behind. I have 9 active connections. Is there something else I need to do?

I need some technical advice regarding the hardfork.
Currently I have stored my DGBs on an USB device - the wallet.dat file is stored there. The wallet that I have installed on my computer is empty. Is it necessary to transfer my DGBs from the stick into my wallet, install the latest wallet and then I can store the DGBs on an USB device again?
Or is that not necessary and whenever in the future I want to use my DGBs again I just install the latest DGB wallet and copy the wallet.dat file into the wallet folder?
My fear is that the DGBs stored on my USB device are lost after the hardfork....
You DGB's will be safe. You just need to make sure you update your wallet whenever you reimport the .dat file. However, it is never a bad idea to make another backup and store the old one in another folder. We never delete a wallet backup. Always place it in an "Old_Backups_2015_Dec" folder or such. Cheers |

Hello all, just a quick warning to the DGB community to stay clear of CRYPTSY.....I believe that they are insolvent and have had some issues getting many different coins out. This is all just speculation but I am writing this based on my experiences. I was lucky and able to get my coins out (approx 1 BTC worth) but do yourself a favor and use Bittrex and Poloniex etc... I believe that DGB withdrawals still work there but don't chance it.......BTC and LTC withdrawals have been suspended for days now and it's not looking good..... Hey guys. I have Digibyte on Bittrex and I keep hearing news of a hard fork. What will I need to do (if anything) to keep my coins from being made obsolete?
The wallet btw the way is huge....20gb? Is that right?
I unfortunately do not have the space for it.

We have received notification from Bittrex that they have updated their wallet so you will have no issue there. Your coins will not become obsolete. As for the wallet size, it is currently 2 GB, not 20. If space is an issue we would recommend the DigiByte Gaming Wallet as it still allows you to securely store your DigiBytes on your own pc or mobile phone. |

Anyone have experience with the Google Chrome wallet doing this: http://prntscr.com/986zmvI tried to send a transactions to a DGB address, and it did whatever it did a little too fast for me to actually see what happened, but now all those coins are stuck in limbo and I have 0 idea how to fix it. Can anyone help? delete the transaction request. Yes, on the home page scroll down (bar on the right) and delete the transaction proposal. The funds will then be unlocked. |
