3041  Other / Bitcoin Wiki / Re: I got edit privileges now: let's discuss which pages need updating on: March 09, 2021, 07:24:20 AM
- You guys (bitcointalk community members) bring together problematic pages, or pages that are just plain out-of-date on this thread
  • Buying Bitcoins (the newbie version)
    • IIRC, US customers could now buy BTCitcoin directly with PayPal [CMIIW].
    • For the credit card part, VirWox is already closed and Cubits has "terminated" its services [it's more like a blog now].
    • I didn't check the other parts but there might be a need for more changes.
  • Debit cards
  • Transaction accelerator
    • AntPool should be added to the "Mining Pool Accelerators" section.
    • IMO, we should get rid of the last section that is called "Third Party Accelerators [it's actually just broadcasting services]" and just replace it with a link to the "Transaction broadcasting" page [like what they've done on their own page].

Other suggestions?
I was wondering if we should get rid of the past services that aren't in operation, from the "Bitcoin Wiki" pages?

- They just clutter the page and lead to nowhere.
- Perhaps it's best to just compile them on a single page and removed them from other respective pages.
3042  Other / Bitcoin Wiki / Re: Suggestion about notifications. on: March 09, 2021, 05:56:53 AM
it would be nice when a link or button leads you to a post or posts that it includes your quote ,
We already have such a thing in place [just click the "post number" in each thread and you'll automatically get a unique address for each quote that you want]:

your tagged username.
IIRC, this has either been suggested before or it's part of the planned features in the new software.

If your suggestions are for the current forum software, you should move this thread to "Meta" and if it's for the new one, it belongs to the "New forum software" board.
- Move button is in the bottom left corner of the page.
3043  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Starting a crypto exchange project! on: March 08, 2021, 01:38:11 PM
I'm let's say a future CEO of a new crypto project (exchange platform) i built a team including a project manager we did put a business plan everythings fine at the moment were in the development stage as we started it from scratch.
The problem is I realised that the sourcing is limited and the project manager says that without more funding we won't be able to finish the project.

Any suggestions and advices from you guys
Make your business plan transparent and be specific with the amount that you need [every step of the way] and make sure you can back it up. Also, don't forget to create a plan to show what investors would get if it either goes as planned or it doesn't.

You'll probably get better responses if you move this to either the "Project Development" or the "Securities" board [not sure where it fits more].
- Move button is in the bottom left corner of the page.

I've personally used both Bisq and Uniswap in the past few months [for a single time] and didn't encounter any issues but don't take it as a recommendation since my experience is just a short-term one.

3045  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: POLL: Have You Ever Used the Lightning Network? on: March 08, 2021, 09:05:11 AM

I did a couple of tests when it was first introduced and AFAICR, that's it... Some of the online stores that I use from time to time offer it but I still prefer using the on-chain transaction instead.
- Having said those, I have nothing against it [I'm just fine using on-chain TXs (with its current limitations)].

Simply, so far I haven't found any places where I can use it.
In addition to "Pmalek's second post", you can find a few more places from here: 1ML directory [website links are usually posted in the "Owner Info" section]
3046  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: March 08, 2021, 07:41:46 AM
And to add to that, I think we scored 8 goals in the last 12 league home games. Don't know what to say, I'm devastated.
Form is temporary [I'm sure they'll bounce back at some point].
- Same happened to Arsenal and we're still in the recovery process.

City did not score at least 1 goal, and manchester united achieved an excellent victory and without conceding a goal despite facing a great opponent like CitY
Even if it was a 180-minute game, City wouldn't be able to score a single goal [no end product despite creating a lot of chances].

Chelsea Vs Everton

What do you think about this match? Who do you suggest will win?
None of them... I'm expecting a draw with both teams to score.
- Both are fighting for a UCL spot, so it's going to be a tight game.

West ham vs Leeds is also another great game for today...
- I'm expecting West ham to bounce back and win it by 2+ goals.
3047  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitfinexPay payment processor? on: March 08, 2021, 06:40:39 AM
It looks like this is basically a service that helps merchants keep track of which invoices were paid and which remain outstanding. If a customer pays too much or not enough, it will be up to the merchant to arrange to either refund the amount overpaid, or decide what to do with the amount paid that is less than what the merchant is due.
~Snipped~
You've made a good point but if I was the merchant in question, I would prefer an automated system in place for dealing with such issues...
- It has to be one of the main reasons for using such things [if it stays in its current state, it defeats its purpose to an extent].

Update:

Antpool finally included your transaction in one of their mined blocks:

Thank you, I confirm receiving the full refund [and a little more, 0.00000109BTC]...
- It saddens me to read about the cancellation part, but nevertheless, thank you for organizing such campaigns.
3050  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transactions (Compilation for newbies) on: March 06, 2021, 06:40:56 AM
I want to recently use ViaBTC but I was unable to, the fee at 5 sat/vbyte while on Sunday the mempool was not congested and was at around 10 sat/vbyte.
ViaBTC always had a fee requirement of "at least 0.0001BTC/KB", regardless of the mempool's status but even then, that's still quite low.

but free accelerators like the ones you mentioned still work for those that pay low fee but not too low fee.
When it comes to ViaBTC, you're right but in regards to Antpool, that's not the case [you can accelerate TXs with lower fees but the downside to that is the fact that unlike ViaBTC, even if you successfully manage to accelerate your transaction, you still have to deal with Antpool's own backlog of unconfirmed accelerated TXs]... In other words, they still have to find multiple blocks before you could see your TX in it.
3051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hello I have a deal for a week that has not been approved How do I raise the gui on: March 05, 2021, 02:51:38 PM
@matandibqer
I just stumbled upon your thread [thanks to its recent bumps] and decided to accelerate your transaction using Antpool's free TX accelerator [link]...

- In theory, it should be included in the first few blocks that they mine [depending on their backlog, it might require more found blocks by them].
- On average, they usually mine 10-15 blocks per day.

  • I saw your other post in one of those so-called accelerating service threads [all they do is rebroadcast your transaction, instead of accelerating it and in return, they hope users would send them tips].

I'll try to explain this without using technical terms:

Rebroadcasting services are more like a reminder but accelerating services, on the other hand, are more like the bouncer/bodyguard friend that you have at a certain club that helps you skip the line but that doesn't mean someone is going to buy you a drink as soon as you step in the club [you still have to wait for someone to do that for you, assuming you're a lady in this example].

A couple more:

-cryptocurrency converter with option to calculate in past Smiley
Nice feature Wink

Last thing usefull to monitore transaction fee in bitcoin network!
Hopefully, it's not like most of the other alternative options that always overestimates such things.

PS: sorry if posted in wrong thread!
Since you'll be adding more features [as mentioned in your roadmap], then it probably belongs to the "Project Development" board...
- You can move it by using the move button from the bottom left corner of the page.

It would've been better if you had a web version and also made it open source [due to some of your current/future features being sensitive subjects].
- Btw, is there really a need to access the Camera [app permission] at its current state?
3054  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transactions (Compilation for newbies) on: March 05, 2021, 08:02:50 AM
You might want to add the following threads as well:

3055  Economy / Goods / Re: Aristocratic Villa (bitcoin swap) on: March 04, 2021, 06:11:00 PM
It's a good thing that you updated your post [previously, I was confused due to your subject field choice] with these images, and based on its title [in Imgur], you're trying to sell your business [Rimini club hotel] as a whole but you forgot to mention for how much you're willing to sell it for?
- Are you going to go with one of the escrow providers [from this forum] for its sale?

but what are the best alternative options for merchants to accept Bitcoin?
Apart from mk4's comment, I would personally vouch for "Blockonomics [not as good as BTCPay, but it gets the job done]".

Looking to find some good comparison for all crypto payment processors.
Here's a list containing the most known processors [it might have a few outdated pieces but for the most part, it's accurate]: Awesome Bitcoin Payment Processors

Correct me if I'm wrong but I assume this is $1000/day per order/device/IPaddress?
Yes, I believe that's the case:

(up to $ 1,000 equivalent per 24 hours per end customer)

Apart from the KYC part, I didn't like the following things as well:

If the payment is marked in your account as a normal deposit, this means that the customer paid an amount different from the required amount. It is entirely up to you as to how to arrange refunds to your customer.

~Snipped~

**Note that if your customers do not agree to the Bitfinex Pay End User Terms of Service, the funds will be deposited to your account as a normal deposit and the status of the invoice will stay as “Created” even though the funds have been deposited to you. In this case, you should arrange for a refund.

***According to Bitfinex Terms of Service, we will be unable to offer services if your customer is from a Prohibited Jurisdiction or is a Prohibited Person.
3057  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Repairs for Bitmain Units on: March 03, 2021, 07:27:55 AM
I had ten units go down recently.  5 - T17s and 5 -S17s. All for various reasons but I found a repair center that was able to fix all my units within a couple of weeks (all back fully hashing!)
So you're telling us that somehow you managed to find a repair center prior to its existence? It's so cool that you have the ability to travel through time Roll Eyes

-- I am willing to explore any ideas you may have to inspire confidence. I have no intention of walking away with people's crypto. I have a good margin and am in it to build a long term business.
I would suggest considering one of the escrow providers [from this forum] to be a part of your platform for the time being...
- Recommended bitcointalk escrow services (choose anyone from that list apart from me [since I'm the one that's suggesting it])

Thank you for other answers as well [I'll be keeping tabs on your platform].
3059  Other / Meta / Re: Get Donator status by donating 10 BTC on: March 03, 2021, 05:38:59 AM
I reckon other memberships might not actually serve any additional purpose for now, since Copper unlocks the Full Member privileges, which are pretty much sufficient for an average member, unless we're talking about no-ads or accessing a premium lounge.
Small correction: It unlocks limits up to a Member [ish] rank only.

  • Even though you have a point, there could still be other memberships for replicating other ranks by providing different PM, action, and signature limits.

~Snipped~
(no longer remember if they can change names or not).
VIP members have that ability.

But I intend to put a different payment address  Bitcoin, NewYorkCoin and Ether for each payment page
Hopefully, you'll consider going a step further by introducing a unique address for every single user [not just for each of the payment pages].
- It could quickly become a big mess if it stays in its current state.

This is not a WooCommerce or Shopify site where we can put an automatic payment system,
Why no go with those routes or even other popular alternative ways [you'll save yourself a lot of headaches]?

But also to get feedback / advice / ideas from you to improve the flow of payments

~Snipped~

I will also soon change my crypto payment space, maybe and thanks to your feedback but you can.
Here's my recommendation for automating everything:

I'd recommend going with either "Blockonomics [easy to set up but depending on how you want to use it, it may require a workaround of some sort]" or "BTCPay [it takes longer to set up but you'll be in full control]".
- Other options: Bitcoin Payment Processors

and confidence holders of bitcoins (and other crypto) to come and spend at my place without escrow and without doubting my honesty (?)
Since you're a newcomer in here and prefer establishing yourself in this community without the help of an escrow provider, then the only reasonable way that I can think of is to go first [send products first, before you receive payments] but that also means that some users might scam you [even if you only deal with reputable accounts, some of them might be compromised accounts [you never know until it's too late]].

Btw, I also noticed that listed prices aren't updated in real-time...
- A quick solution for that is to go with one of the payment gateways that I recommended above.
