2261  Other / Archival / Re: Binance introduces KYC for all users on: August 20, 2021, 11:25:02 AM
Well, as expected, Binance is introducing KYC for all users.
I'm going to guess what will happen next: They'll lower the limit for the intermediate verified users [probably in a month or two], so they would be forced to go through the advance verification process!

Do not believe that without KYC you have the opportunity to withdraw funds before the date indicated in the announcement, the end of October.
Exactly:

This is what would happen if government would really be that strict on any platforms or services out there.
They could've avoided "some of it" if they didn't choose to "completely" ignore their warnings in the first place.
2262  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin price calculator - Calculate live and historic Bitcoin prices on: August 20, 2021, 07:48:34 AM
historic Bitcoin prices with euros, dollars and Japanese yen.
Found a small bug in the historic prices:

  • It looks like the amount of data that we could access, differs based on what currency we're viewing the data...
    • $ = Starting from February 2, 2012 onwards
    • € = Starting from September 12, 2013 onwards
    • ¥ = Starting from June 25, 2015 onwards
2263  Economy / Goods / Re: Galaxy s21 Ultra 512GB black listed in Canada, please read. on: August 19, 2021, 06:22:37 PM
However as it turns out, my phone is BLACKLISTED in Canada(possibly the Unite states too).
I had a similar experience a couple of years back when I bought a new phone from abroad and came back home [not the US or Canada]. I received a warning that mentioned it'll be deactivated in a month's time unless I register it [depending on the model, registration fees are different but for the most part, it's an insignificant amount].
- I'm surprised the tech support didn't mention it!

my trust is at +9
Actually, it's just "+0 / =0 / -0". None of the positive ratings on your profile are from someone that belongs to DT; in other words, they're not shown by default [add ";dt" to see everything by default]:
Code:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=58322;dt

picture is available if you want.
You might want to follow "this" format.
2264  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best way to monetize cryptocurrency blog on: August 19, 2021, 05:00:21 PM
What is the best way to monetize such a small site?
In addition to what others have suggested, there are a few more in the following list: List of Advertising Networks [if you're using an ad blocker of some sort, disable it prior to viewing that page]
Note: I haven't checked to see if your website fits their requirements [kindly DYOR].

Any suggestion you think would work for me to generate little cash?
Try to contact other cryptocurrency websites and sell your ad spaces directly to them.

I think you need at least 10k visitors per month:
The second link you've provided is a bit outdated [it says 5k on their website].
2265  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Thoughts about Passport hardware wallet on: August 19, 2021, 10:30:21 AM
only thing that is stopping me to buy one of this nokia-like devices is price of $299 :/
I agree with what @ETFbitcoin said, but another reason [apart from being overpriced - IMO, it's worth around $150 at most] why only a few people have bought it so far, has to be because of its limited cryptocurrency support [personally, I only use BTCitcoin but that's not the case with a lot of users out there].

Does anybody know what's the "surprise gift" that's included on the FE ones?

Just found out it comes with an interesting [probably not for everyone out there, but it brings back good old memories] "secret" menu.
2266  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: August 19, 2021, 06:24:42 AM
Continuing...
I believe @SquirrelJulietGarden already addressed your concerns, so I'm not going to repeat what he/she said and I don't think you'll be getting a different response in here.

I believe that if they insert these new badges, it will probably encourage users who have a lot of knowledge on this topic to always be sharing with us their knowledge, analysis and other things.
AFAIK, those with enough knowledge will always share regardless of having a badge or not, but the moment you encourage users to do it for the badge, most of the users with limited knowledge would try to gain that badge for the wrong reason and that always leads to a disaster [one way or another].
2267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin solving the problem of intermediary on: August 18, 2021, 03:12:30 PM
Note we have an agreement on price changes because of volatility in Bitcoin price.
Out of curiosity, is it around 5 to 10% up and down? Usually, a markup is around 20 to 50% [depending on the item], so even on a bad day minus the exchange fees [around 5% if he/she converts it right away], your supplier would still profit from his/her sales. Did I get it right?
2268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WALMART is hiring a cryptocurrency product lead ! on: August 18, 2021, 01:34:15 PM
Well, that was fast [that "job listing" no longer exists] and since I never got the chance to read it, then I'm going to trust @dkbit98 interpretation and say that we shouldn't get excited about something that would probably have little to no impact on BTCitcoin.

In one of the job descriptions, they said:
Quote
Identify Crypto related investment and partnerships
So, maybe there will be another surprise again by Walmart after this  Grin
But that's more beneficial to them, as opposed to the end-users.
2269  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: I want to report crypto currencies stealing, where should i go? on: August 18, 2021, 11:37:32 AM
I try to report to the local authorities without any luck
Just to be clear, you specifically contacted the cybercrime division [in your country], right?

This organization(s) refused to revel this information to me without legal order
Then work on it [with a lawyer].
- Don't get your hopes up.

( Interpol in this case that is if they will be interested)
They'll ignore such reports unless local authorities or the police submits them: If you need help [INTERPOL]
2270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: I started a porn site that pays you in Bitcoin. on: August 18, 2021, 10:10:52 AM
That is why everyone receives a "dividend" within an hour of watching a few videos. Of course, the amount paid out varies on several multiples.
How much can I earn?
We pay dynamically based on things like web traffic and the amount of videos a user has watched. There is not a hard cap on how much you can earn within a day.
  • Does it count a video as watched, if we skip to a certain point in the video [nobody likes the intros]?
  • Just to be clear, there'll be also a reward for those that use an ad blocker of some sort?

Oh man, this is definitely something in the road map once we are more established.
Not sure how PH pays its performers, but the moment you implement such a thing, it'll probably lead to the shortage of anonymous masks on the internet Cheesy
2271  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CryptosPortal 2.0 Community on: August 18, 2021, 08:48:40 AM
if you have the information and share it, you will also be rewarded.
Can you explain a bit more in regards to that?
- How are you planning to utilize the accumulated points in the future?

Not sure what made you go from "selling" or "auctioning" it, to renewing it [last month] until 2027, but regardless of that, it'll be an uphill task to compete with other known similar platforms.
- Usually, these platforms don't last long unless you could offer a lot more to attract users [the ugly truth].
2272  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Cryptosdesk.io up to 30% annually(rip-off, plagiarized content and etc on: August 18, 2021, 06:26:08 AM
Just FYI, it looks like the project is called Cryptosdesk
Well spotted [thank you] Smiley

(which sounds very weird if you say it out loud).
I guess they didn't want to pay the "premium price" for something that won't last long.

I'm not sure what to think about the 30% per year.  They used that tricky qualifier "up to", which basically means you could earn a lot less than 30%, plus I'm hearing of DeFi projects that are apparently legitimate which offer returns much higher than that.  It sounds way too good to be true to me, but I've never done anything with DeFi personally, so I don't know if it's a Ponzi or what.
It's getting harder and harder to identify them. Based on my observation, most of the recent ones have drastically lowered their interest rates [a bit tricky], but when you compare their high "free" daily reward with everything else, then their true nature becomes clearer.

Their address  shows up on search engines to be the location of some lending companies but further information can be known only by a resident of that area. This is however a common practice among scammers to use addresses of known business centers in order to show off.
That's interesting [I forgot to look it up last night, thank you] Smiley

Either way, flag supported.  Good eyes, OP.
Flag is of course supported.
Thanks to both of you, I appreciate it.
2273  Economy / Scam Accusations / [Warning] Cryptosdesk.io up to 30% annually(rip-off, plagiarized content and etc on: August 17, 2021, 06:25:17 PM
What happened:
As soon as I saw their website, I knew I've seen the template they were using on their website, so I did some digging and was able to find the original source [partial rip-off from another scam website]. In addition to that, they're offering a high annual interest rate of 30% while also using a lot of plagiarized content from various websites.

Tagged and "created a flag".
2274  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Secure Element in Hardware Wallets on: August 17, 2021, 01:01:10 PM
is there anyone who can help me to create simple table form and improve my first post to list all hardware wallets and secure elements?
~Snipped~
I can help you with that part but I'd like to request not meriting my post for a code that it's just an alteration of what you already have posted in this thread.
- The credit part is more than enough Smiley

I'll post it here...

Update:
- Kindly double-check [especially towards the end].

@JollyGood
It looks like Betking finally gave up that ridiculous campaign and "announced [yesterday]" it's done and dusted.
- Having said that, a lot of them are still wearing those signatures, and since almost all of them are considered as a bunch of throwaway or parked accounts, then there's a big chance that at least half of them would keep wearing it [unintentionally] for the meantime.

Unfortunately, you're right and it's very annoying!

I don't have an archived version of their shop but at that time they were definitely selling well below 10-20% of what Bitmain was charging and they were sold out, so probably something like 3000$ for a miner that could be sold easily for 4k the same day even here at that time, and later on for much more.

Besides, it's easier to launch yourself in such deals when you're not actually purchasing them with your own money, a fake impression of security.
You have a point but it's way too risky [such scams are inevitable] and it perfectly highlights how irresponsible the seller [wannabe reseller] in question was.

To both victims:

  • I'd suggest looking out for all of the sellers that use the above image in their product listings [there "might" be a connection]:
    • Here are a few [archived versions]:

I wish instead of comparing the DCA results for both BTCitcoin and gold, it would've compared the BTCitcoin DCA results with someone that invested the exact same amount [with near-perfect results] in trading, but regardless of that, it was still quite interesting.

I do not know if the building crowd of DCA lovers will bring bitcoin to one million
I don't want to speculate, but I think most users would agree that's bound to happen at some point.
- Having said that, I have a feeling most of the current forum users, will not be around [perhaps around 2140] to witness it [I hope I'm wrong].

In any case, this is a good offer for holders who do not want to sell their coins for fiat.
Am I the only one that's not impressed with this partnership? I've never tried using such platforms before, but AFAIK, there's no "real" difference between using them and other lending platforms that offer crypto-backed loans!
- Not sure if I'm missing something but apart from their fees, one of their disadvantages is being tied to home improvements only.

Didn't know they were a reseller though,
Me neither [prior to reading the above link], but here's their blog post: Partnership with Crystal Blockchain Analytics

Just realized that funds from crypto ATMs are considered as "moderate risk" on Antinalysis. Personally, I haven't seen a single BTM/crypto ATM that doesn't require its users, to go through some sort of KYC process for large amounts.
- IMO, it should be under the "low risk" category instead.

Napansin ko lang nawala yung fee pag nag cash out sa gcash at metrobank through instapay.
May announcement ba sila tungkol dito at hanggang kelan kaya?
Nag tweet sila nun Aug 13 tungkol sa pagtangal ng mga fees for cashing out through InstaPay at unfortunately, hanggang Aug 31 lang walang fee [link].
- Surprisingly, di nila sinama yun sa "blog post" nila!
