2061  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: GPU Mining Equipment + S9 ASICS | Portland Local Pickup Available on: September 28, 2021, 01:46:02 PM
Still looking to get rid of this stuff wholesale
You could've sold those rigs in a matter of days, but instead of spending a minute to capture and upload their images here, you chose to leave false retaliatory feedback on my account!
- Almost four months have passed and nothing has happened yet Roll Eyes

By the time you give up, I'm sure most of us would be able to write a book based on your contradictory comments!
2062  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Need to buy 40 btc Europe on: September 28, 2021, 11:48:47 AM
i can come to you
And rob them with your buddies!

my number is +40733 245 573 whasapp
What happened to your previous account [mathesond684]?

The money will be transferred to sealer account...
Let me guess, you'll be the one to choose the sealer in question and there'll be no way for the seller to know if you're connected to that person or not! Roll Eyes

Then take a pic from your bank account showing that you have that amount sitting there, up and ready to be transferred.
I wouldn't recommend trusting him/her even if @Linebtc1 provides one [it's not that hard to manipulate images].
- The same thing applies to video proofs [there are certain ways to temporarily alter the content of a website (from your side) without hacking it].
2063  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CoinTelegraph's International sites? on: September 28, 2021, 10:32:11 AM
Tried to change the language and was redirected to the corresponding local site, I suppose that's it (can be found on your upper right)
It never occurred to me that they would hide local versions behind the language selection part [worst possible place, no wonder why a lot of their previous local versions are dead now].
- Thank you for finding the solution Smiley

Pretty weird to put it there if they also publish local-only news, very likely to get the idea that it was made only for translated news from the main.
Exactly [e.g. the "Turkish" version has a lot of those]!
2064  Economy / Service Discussion / CoinTelegraph's International sites? [Solved] on: September 28, 2021, 09:11:16 AM
Back in the day, CoinTelegraph had a list of its international sites in the footer area of its website, but that's no longer the case!
- I do know they're publishing a lot of repetitive articles on each of those sites but from time to time, you'll find a bunch of unique articles as well.

Does anybody know where I could find the complete "updated" list?   (Update - Solution [by Potato Chips])
- I've already looked at all of the places on their main site but had no luck.

These are the only ones that I could find from "an old archived page" that was taken in Jan of 2017:

2065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase to Allow US Users to Deposit Paychecks Directly in Crypto. on: September 28, 2021, 07:26:08 AM
The massive crypto exchange will enable its U.S. customers to deposit all or part of their paychecks in crypto or dollars without a fee.
If they had a good support department, that would be a different story.
~Snipped~
Good idea in theory, if it was Gemini I would think about it.
Let's assume for a second that there's no issue with their support or you're just dealing with Gemini, how much [or a rough percentage] a US-based customer could save by opting for the Coinbase route?
2066  Economy / Speculation / Re: Summer dip?!, December price outcome? ---> JOIN and guess the price GO! on: September 28, 2021, 06:08:04 AM
Entering Q4, how do we feel price wise...
I'm still quite confident that it would reach what I "predicted" before [or at least close to it].

  • I forgot to upload the following screenshots when I made that prediction:
    - In both of the following periods, prices in September were slightly higher than in June and the spike happened while it headed towards December [with a little exception in 2013, since November had a higher value].

2067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 【I am in China】About China 2021/09/24 FUD on: September 27, 2021, 03:21:13 PM
Just as a suggestion why you don't create a group of trusted people with your friends who own bitcoin and interested in trading cryptocurrencies
~Snipped~
You just need to transfer bitcoins to your friends and they will give you some money in cash or using back transactions.
That might work for small amounts, but for larger ones, they'd probably have to deal with problems like insufficient supplies... Sooner or later, that'll lead to expanding the group and that's where it gets tricky!

so you won't be tracked and the government won't understand anything.
Depending on how they do it, they could still get caught if they're not careful enough [unfortunately]!

in short give it some time and china will start allowing licences
Even if that happens, I highly doubt they'd give those to "normal" individuals!
2068  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: List of useful Bitcoin block explorers on: September 27, 2021, 12:34:07 PM
I quickly checked those that had "No" in front of them and found the following changes:

  • Bech32 support
    • BitcoinWhosWho
    • Insight
  • Identifiable P2SH format
    • SoChain

- SmartBit halted its operations "2 months ago".
- "Bitcoin.com (Owner: BCash)" redirects to "Blockchair.com", so we should probably just keep the latter one in the list!

Found another explorer:

2069  Other / Meta / Re: What is the main reason you don't come to this website more often? on: September 27, 2021, 07:52:33 AM
having to zoom in and out and move the screen with the text to read is just as painful as nails on chalkboard.
In regards to the reading part, I'd recommend doing what @acroman08 suggested [landscape view] and for those that are interested in a better experience for posting stuff, I'd recommend combining the landscape view with a portable Bluetooth keyboard while using the "quick reply" feature!

  • Quick reply feature
    • Profile > Look and Layout Preferences > Use quick reply on topic display > show, on by default > Change profile

Alternatively, you can try the following things as well:

  • Note: Every single one of these versions has its own limitations and depending on how each post is formatted [e.g. those with tables], viewing it using any of the above versions might be a nightmare.
2070  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam alert festobit.com on: September 26, 2021, 08:07:15 PM
You did a great job at finding some of its other sisters/clones sites, but always remember to archive them as well:

I managed to find a few more as well:
- I've personally reported a lot of websites with that exact template and content, but unfortunately, some of them still exist.

2071  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-09-25]South Korean Taxman to Be Granted Right to Search Crypto Tax Evaders on: September 26, 2021, 03:37:20 PM
and bailiffs could be sent to search their houses.
But, the ministry confirmed, the new powers will allow tax officers to search homes and other premises if the need arises.

The measure will also grant officers the right to convert crypto funds to fiat KRW wherever they find them.
I'm curious to know what would happen if they couldn't find any crypto-asset in those houses?!

Crypto is not yet taxable in South Korea, but as of January 1, 2022, all crypto profits above USD 2,100 will need to be declared,
Does anybody know if that's per month or per year?
- If it's the latter one, then it's really bad in comparison to Slovenia [€15K per year].

and traders will be forced to pay a flat rate of 20% on their earnings above this threshold.
I've seen worse!

So I am not sure why so many people are protesting against these measures.
Based on what I've read last week, one of the main issues was about forming a monopoly [to a large extent]!
2072  Economy / Services / Re: TOKYOTEL'S HOTEL REFUNDING SERVICE | 65-85% HOTEL REFUNDS | CHEAP 30% FEE on: September 26, 2021, 12:37:52 PM
◉ We will require access to the hotel booking account
One of the many red flags on this post!

Don't the hotel know I've refunded them and not let me stay?
No, the hotel don't initiate the refund, they don't even know you've been refunded.
It's really not.
Regardless of "TOKYOTEL" scamming its users or not, you're still directly scamming the hotels in question and yet, you still have the audacity to comment about this unethical service not being a scam!

2073  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: According to leaked documents walletexplorer.com is a honeypot on: September 26, 2021, 11:06:30 AM
It has never publicly associated itself with walletexplorer.com, although a note at the bottom of the site’s homepage says its “author” now works at Chainalysis.
I don't remember it completely but I believe I read about the connection on their own website! In other words this has never been something they hid!!!
~Snipped~
(quoting the footer of the website):
Apart from the note that's been on the footer area since early 2016 [archived version], I'm pretty sure back in the day, there was also a blog post about their connection [tried my best, but couldn't find it].

For years I've been telling people that these two services are from the same company.
Same "here"!

So why is it being treated as a new thing and "leaked documents"?
IIRC, that's not the first time that I've seen such behavior from CoinDesk authors.
-The same thing goes for some of the CoinTelegraph authors.

2074  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ranks of bitcoin hodlers. on: September 26, 2021, 07:44:07 AM
I was wondering if that is glassnode's original classification or not. The referenced article is from February 2021, and it may have been an updated version of a prior article of theirs.

Nebvertheless, it was referenced in a few entries I found that date back from 2018 (unless there are updates that do not alter the dates on these sites):

~Snipped~
This tweet though seems to be from September 2017:
https://twitter.com/FelixBrooklyns/status/906506746876874755
That's strange [I've always thought they were the ones that came up with half of those terms first (I was wrong)]! I checked the source code of the above steemit link and it appears that @marketanalysis posted that image four days prior to the above tweet, so I've added that one as the main source on my previous post [I've also double-checked that image and the ones posted by Glassnode on google, but couldn't find any other source prior to the above steemit link]:

2075  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: My gadgets store now accept bitcoin! on: September 25, 2021, 09:47:55 PM
Here is a list of what I have done please tell me if I am missing anything. Suggestions will be appreciated
~Snipped~
Utilize the free space that's available on top of the countertop display cases, with the help of a bunch of plastic sign holders and catchy phrases [one in each and don't overdo it (main focus should be on why you accept BTCitcoin, as opposed to a BTCitcoin accepted sign)].

  • In addition to @Lucius's suggestion about having a color, don't slap the whole print on the glass door [trim the excess to make it look like a sticker].

-Customized paper bag showing we accept Bitcoin
~Snipped~

If you're referring to the image that's on the bottom right corner, then it doesn't look good!
- You have to do a lot better than a partial BTCitcoin logo that's buried beneath other images.

- Customized Bitcoin t-shirts for staff
Can we see how it looks?

I just started and haven't had any customer paying in Bitcoin yet.
~Snipped~
I just have to do more to publicity.
If you had a website, I would've suggested listing it on various crypto directories.
2076  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Charity Auction Ideas ? on: September 25, 2021, 06:29:36 PM
I wanted to ask others here if there are any projects out there that you are passionate about that you would like to see supported? One issue that I would like to support is mental health/homelessness.
There's a project that's been around for a couple of years that in a way, it looks like a perfect match: Using crypto to help the homeless - (for real - with pics!)
- Apart from the donation part, other users can act as volunteers.
2077  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-09-24] China Says All Crypto-Related Transactions Are Illegal on: September 25, 2021, 03:10:17 PM
China’s central bank said all cryptocurrency-related transactions are illegal and must be banned,
By the look of things, they're allowed to hodle what they already have [as long as they don't use it for their transactions].
- I wonder how they're going to deal with decentralized exchanges?

The Chinese government may also be responding to signs that miners are disguising their activities to stay in business.
I was surprised to see such moves are still being made in China... It doesn't take a genius to distinguish a normal data center from one that does other stuff [all it takes is a single visit]!

its just sad to look at though on how they do perceive or view on things.
All of this is just because of their own CBDC!

It's only a matter of time before they realise their mistake & do a huge U-Turn.
They want to have full control and that's exactly the opposite of what a "U-turn" move would achieve.
2078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Twitter can make impact in the BTC world? on: September 25, 2021, 12:09:24 PM
Consider the following scenario: there are 350 million monthly active Twitter users, and they can all send BTC to one another.
It would've been great if that was really the case, but in reality, it's tied to [for now - thanks to Strike] users from El Salvador and the US [except for two states] and that equates to around "75M [I'm referring to those that can receive, as opposed to those that can send]". On top of that, you have to remove non iOS users from the equation [for now] and that leads to a much smaller number!

What impact are you predicting for us in the future?
You might want to define what you exactly mean by "us"; if you're referring to hodlers, then I don't think it'll have a significant impact on the price!
2079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Best wallet for Android? on: September 25, 2021, 10:10:27 AM
What would be the best wallet to carry on your mobile?
In addition to the above comments, I would suggest narrowing down your choices to those with reproducible builds [I do know it doesn't automatically equate to being 100% secure, but it's a good start].
Note: Some of them have recently gained a lot of mixed reviews [e.g. first one on the following list]:

I am thinking in the future to make a trip somewhere where I know that you can spend Bitcoin, then I had thought to install a wallet to take something to spend.

Ah this is true I mean it is from any valuable source ?
Yes, "some [more than half]" of the terms were given by Glassnode in an insight that they published back in February, while you can find the remaining half on "some" of the crypto glossaries [e.g. this one].
