2461  Economy / Scam Accusations / [Warning] Quincoin.org uses plagiarized content on its whitepaper and website on: July 15, 2021, 05:36:22 PM
What happened:
I stumbled upon their announcement thread while I was browsing the "Project Development" board and since it was strange to see such things on that board, I ran a few plagiarism tests and it came back positive...

2462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHICH COUNTRIES COULD FOLLOW EL SALVADOR BY MAKING BITCOIN LEGAL TENDER? on: July 15, 2021, 03:13:17 PM
If I had to guess, I'd say Venezuela...

High inflation rate
High cryptocurrency usage

Having said that, I enjoyed reading the latter part of that article about "forming an economic alliance" and it makes perfect sense for El Salvador's neighboring countries to follow and do such a thing.
2463  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-07-15] Rumors Fly That Apple Has Bought $2.5 Billion In Bitcoin on: July 15, 2021, 07:36:07 AM
It never crossed my mind that one day, "sauces" would become a reliable source for cryptocurrency-related stuff Cheesy

I'm not familiar with most of the people that kept spreading that rumor further but by the look of things, they just want to capitalize on the situation by being in the spotlight...
- Personally, I highly doubt we'd witness such a move anytime soon.
2464  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Spend your bitcoins with a 3rd party on Alixpress on: July 15, 2021, 05:28:56 AM
If KYC wasn't an issue for you, I would've suggested paying with WebMoney on Aliexpress...
- Without going through the KYC process, you're quite limited.

Notes:
- It might take a while before you get used to all of its terms and how everything works but it's worth it.
- Personally, I haven't used Aliexpress but up until a few months ago, I was using WebMoney regularly and the only reason why I stopped was because of the fact that I found a better alternative to transfer my funds locally.

There's also "DashBargain [I can't vouch]" that orders the items from their own account with your shipping address.

Directly to the buyer  Smiley We purchase the items with your shipping address and forward you the tracking number after the purchase.

Amazon, Ebay, Aliexpress and many more.
2465  Economy / Gambling / Re: Biteller.com Cash-Back Betting Rewards - Feedback / Suggestions needed on: July 14, 2021, 07:51:54 AM
-  We’re adding new partners to the platform every week
Not sure if the appropriate term is to call them a "partner" but regardless of that, hopefully, this doesn't turn out to be one of those platforms that literally adds every other platform that offers such things...
- You might want to pay "more" attention before adding more or keeping those that you already have [I'm not familiar with all of them but the first one in your "coming soon" list has a very bad reputation].

any issues with us converting the crypto commission payments to BTC or should we be looking at implementing a payment system to rewards users based on whatever cryptocurrency we're paid with?
As long as you're transparent enough, there shouldn't be any issues with the conversion part and I'd suggest giving users both of the above options.
2466  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Interview] Crypto business in Kazakhstan on: July 14, 2021, 07:16:13 AM
if earlier the buyer had to pay 2-3-4-5% extra, now it comes to the point that exchangers give 0.5% more cryptocurrency for your fiat.
Now that's what I call an interesting development!

I think that when everything calms down and the movement of miners stops, there will be 3 major players in the world: China, USA, Kazakhstan.
With everything that has happened recently in China and the direction that things are going at the moment, I'm curious to know why @Apytioh thinks China is still going to be one of the major players?

But yes, burning of minerals is a large part of electricity production, but there is no government policy in this matter."
It would've been better if there was one prior to the ongoing large-scale relocations...
- I'm sure Chinese miners wouldn't want to experience and deal with a chain reaction of some sort.

Recently, a certain investor "paid" $ 450,000 to the owner of a 14MW station to start mining. That is, he just bought the opportunity to mine, then he will pay according to the tariff as required by law.
That's not a good thing and other hosting providers might follow as well [unfortunately].
2467  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Bitmain 17 series miners quality is really poor. on: July 14, 2021, 05:30:58 AM
I bought and sell some used S17+, T17 miners, quality is really low.
You might want to provide pictures [follow this format] for those that you already have in hand and explain their conditions a bit more.
- You forgot to mention their quantities, location, and if you're fine with using escrow services.
2468  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Clear Junction nag bye bye na kay binance ano kaya epekto o magiging epekto? on: July 14, 2021, 04:28:50 AM
2. But the choices are decreasing kasi nga marami nang bangko sa UK and nag la-laylow sa crypto to be safe.
May point ka pero marami rami pa ang options na pwedeng gamitin [bukod sa bank transfer] pagdating sa payment methods...
- There will always be a workaround of some sort [both in/out of the platform].

2469  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-07-09] Russia Drafting Law on Confiscation of Crypto Assets on: July 13, 2021, 04:37:33 PM
In other words, they'd like to have full control over those exchanges that offer custodial services [ironic]...
- From bad to worse [SMH].

I'm curious to know what they'll be doing with some of the confiscated crypto assets that nobody attempted for their retrieval Roll Eyes
2470  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Brand new way to trade cryptocurrency on: July 13, 2021, 01:39:00 PM
Since you mentioned this is connected/powered by Binance, then what are the advantages of using this in comparison to their app?
- I've already read the FAQ page but I'm still not convinced.

Can you provide more details in regards to your "top-notch verification procedures"?
2471  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for funding for a Bitcoin Mining project, Property already purchased on: July 13, 2021, 12:08:36 PM
I have since bought another industrial property where I am busy building my walls and rooms and intend to create a renewable bitcoin farm.
You might want to provide pictures as well...
- It doesn't matter if it's not yet finished and please don't redirect me to your website like it's some sort of a treasure hunt.

I have ordered a few things already , however the Investor would score off basically free rent from the mine and since it will run on solar and wind, there would almost be no running costs .
Just to be clear, are you asking for a loan in order to provide hosting services? Btw, when it comes to mining operations, there are other costs other than electricity [e.g. maintenance, repair, and a few other things].

My total investment I am looking for is around 1 BTC , of which I already have 0.2 Btc raised .
Can you provide a complete cost breakdown for your project [based on the 0.8BTC that you still need]?

The funds I have raised are my personal funds of 0.2btc , they are in my exchange wallet .
In other words, you can't sign a message to prove you have those ["Not Your Keys, Not Your Coins"].
2472  Other / Meta / Re: Do You Believe a New Forum Software Will Attract More Users to Bitcointalk? on: July 13, 2021, 09:37:14 AM
If the new forum is mobile-friendly, I think that will be the most significant feature to give it a slight push.
This... I literally had to buy a laptop [I always preferred desktops more] last week due to experiencing multiple power outages on a daily basis [although there are a few workarounds while using mobile devices, it's still a big mess (even for just reading stuff)].

With all this in mind, do you believe that once the new forum is released, Bitcointalk will increase its userbase?
Yes, but I'm "only" referring to retaining most of its current users [better retention rate], as opposed to attracting "more" new users.
2473  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.com - Makes things difficult to send BTC, am I the only one? on: July 13, 2021, 07:22:36 AM
Of course I have my 12 word recovery phrase saved already years ago, I think my wallet is build before 2016
Then it's probably 17 words instead of 12. I'm not sure about the exact steps on Wasabi but I'd suggest doing the following things to import it on "Electrum":

  • Go to your Blockchain.com wallet > Settings > Wallets & Addresses
  • Your address should show under "Imported Bitcoin Addresses" > Click "Manage" > Private Key > Continue > Copy the private key with "WIF" format
  • Open Electrum > Create New Wallet > Name it then click next > Import Bitcoin addresses or private keys > Paste the private key with "WIF" format > Choose a password > Wait for it to sync > Done.

2475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microsoft Is Using Bitcoin to Help Build a Decentralized Internet on: July 12, 2021, 08:41:43 AM
Personally, I have a strange feeling about it... At first, I enjoyed reading what this "layer 2 tech [DID]" does but seeing that Microsoft is behind it, I'd prefer to "not" dip my toes...
- I watched the video on that article and in a way, it encourages users to create multiple identities for various stuff [a bit nonsensical, and to an extent, it defeats its purpose].
2476  Economy / Securities / Re: Seeking investment for ANONYMOUS file storage and sharing website (FREE TO USE) on: July 12, 2021, 07:33:31 AM
@ThatDevAaron
- Would you mind telling us what the investors will be getting in return?
- Why it may take "5 minutes" for the files to be available?

There's an inconsistency in the "description" part.

How do you anticipate making money if you are not charging your users?
They do charge for "storage upgrades".
2477  Economy / Scam Accusations / [SCAM] PALKY.eu - Ponzi scheme + plagiarized content on: July 12, 2021, 05:28:31 AM
What happened::
I was reading through different threads on the lending board and sub-board until the following "thread" caught my attention. At first, I thought it was just another Ponzi scheme [even though the owner says PPC] but looks like it has also plagiarized everything from other similar platforms.

I am owner of the Pay Per Click/Video platform called PALKY.
It appears to be more like a "Ponzi scheme" as opposed to what you've described here.

i am ready to sing up the contract between us so that you can recieve 10% of the PALKY earnings for the lifetime.
That's not going to work [on so many levels] and without collateral, you'll be ignored. Read the first two posts from "this" thread.
2479  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Hi there, newbie here with questions :) on: July 11, 2021, 06:10:22 PM
if the version I have is the lates version.
Great question; I'd like to know the answer to this one as well... Alternatively, you can try flashing it with the "latest firmware", based on their release/publish dates [your options are somewhat limited if you own one with a C5 control board].
2480  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-07-08] Elizabeth Warren demands answers from the SEC on crypto regulation on: July 11, 2021, 03:37:53 PM
Sen. Elizabeth Warren demanded the agency answer a series of questions related to cryptocurrency regulation
Does anybody know what was the other four missing questions about?
- I did some digging but I couldn't find it.

she called a highly opaque and volatile market.
I completely disagree with the former description; what else she wants?

Before I even clicked that link, I knew somewhere in there she'll use "scams" as a way to force the issue [SMH].
