2201  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Man Robbed of 16 Bitcoin Sues Young Thieves’ Parents on: September 01, 2021, 03:43:41 PM
What do you think of this case though,
It's one of those cases that could go either way! Both of the defendant's families are nothing but a bunch of low-life scammers [I'm referring to the part @Lucius quoted]. Having said those, I wonder why the victim in question, opted for a PI, as opposed to contacting the law enforcement agencies [perhaps he's hiding something].

I'm not sure whose law should apply
Does it mean that each one of them has a slightly different interpretation for the "discovery rule"?

  • Quote
Schober’s attorneys argue (PDF) that “the statute of limitations begins to run when the Plaintiff knows or has reason to know of the existence and cause of the injury which is the base of his action,” and that inherent in this concept is the discovery rule, namely: That the statute of limitations does not begin to run until the plaintiff knows or has reason to know of both the existence and cause of his injury.

So I already created flag type 3 for this STA (Scammer Trust Abuser)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=2822
Regardless of xayan123's intentions to respond or not, none of us should create such flags on behalf of someone else, hence why I explained the whole process to @martinjuniorking:

2203  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-08-30 Guardian - Scepticism grows in El Salvador over pioneering BTC gamble on: September 01, 2021, 12:25:07 PM
every Salvadoran gets $30 of free Bitcoin in their wallet,
But only if they'll be using the Chivo app [unfortunately].

So although it's legal tender, doesn't seem it is mandatory for people or business to actually accept it.
I'm pretty sure when it first started making noises, I read a bunch of articles that mentioned if someone were to pay for something with BTCitcoin, they should accept it [looks like it was just misleading information that aimed at creating panic among the elderly population].

Having said all that, given that every Salvadoran can now convert immediately between the two currencies with no taxes or commission, a bitcoin user can effectively spend their bitcoin anywhere in the country - it's just that the conversion to USD takes place on their wallet instead of 5 seconds later on the merchant's wallet.
That, together with the above things should be sufficient enough for easing most of their concerns.

then you can only assume that many people still have internet access from public hotspots,
~Snipped~
then perhaps businesses are incentivized to run a public WiFi point that customers can connect to in order to make payments, be they BTC or otherwise.
And unfortunately, that'll potentially open the door to other dangers [e.g. hacks].

Thanks SFR10, corrected. I remember it showed up in my feed in the same day and I got mistaken.
You're very welcome Smiley

I do not necessarily think we will see much of an increase in bitcoin use among the Salvadorans.
Same here... Might take a year or two before we'll see a significant change.
2204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mini documentary on: September 01, 2021, 10:20:04 AM
It started off great, and then it quickly went south [I do know there's only so much that you can fit in a mini-documentary, but still, you could've done better].
- BTW, I was listening to it in the background and for a minute, I thought we had another crash [you mentioned 30k, but the subtitle was showing 50k in that part].
2205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase Sponsors New MrBeast YouTube Video! on: September 01, 2021, 09:14:24 AM
That should also serve as some motivation for our soon to be launched Bitcointalk YouTube channel as what sponsors are achievable in the space!
You're right, but I hope that doesn't become one of its main goals [at some point, it might have a bad impact on its future content].

until now the $10 referral code was effective upon creating a Coinbase account.
And it'll remain like that until next year.

Is there somebody who knows how much is all over the cost of the prize that is sponsored by Coinbase?
Couldn't find anything in regards to that [there's probably a confidentiality agreement in place], but if you search their new "Twitter" display name [Coinbase 🔜 #CoinBeastSweepstakes] on google, looks like they'll be giving away "$100,000" soon!

Even if coinbase is already popular in the community,
They're well known, but not that popular [in general].
2206  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Ann] The Price in Sats on: August 31, 2021, 09:04:21 PM
@thepriceinsats
It looks like you've gained only a small amount of followers since you posted "this" back in March; perhaps you should consider trying paid promotions on various platforms [start with small amounts and see which one works best].

  • If you expand your listings to other reliable platforms, I'll create an avatar and promote your website [for free] for a month or two [depending on my mood, I might extend it].
    - Send me a PM when you've added items from other platforms Wink
  • Just found out Tesco doesn't offer referral links for its products [you might want to look for a platform that does offer such things].
  • Bought you a coffee [hopefully, it makes you feel more motivated to do the updates/changes faster] Wink

Huh?  Huh Where did you get those 400kSat fees from?
Perhaps he/she made that comment while using one of those websites that always tend to overestimate fees [e.g. here's one].

Update:
Hey, first of all, thanks for the Coffee, I know people don't want to part with them $SATs (neither does this mole) but your right, marketing is more the focus. I'm getting a little more traction and posting more reliably but I will definitely take your pointers on board!
You're very welcome Smiley
- Best of luck.
2207  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAMMER] xayan123 aka Zayaan Ibrahim +SCAMMER BIG LIAR TIME WASTER on: August 31, 2021, 04:53:50 AM
ofcourse you can check here
https://imgur.com/a/0Biq6Wi.
Thank you for those.

If he still doesn't respond [as a whole] in a few days, then I'd suggest "creating a flag [type 2 or 3]" on his profile and posting it here so with enough support [+3], it'll become active and he'll get a "red banner" on top of his threads + this "warning" on his profile.

Note:
  • Type 2 flag [second option] lasts for 3 years while the type 3 flag [third option], lasts for 10 years [regardless of its length, only choose the one that's appropriate for your case].
    - I'll be tagging him as well.
2208  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-08-30 Guardian - Scepticism grows in El Salvador over pioneering BTC gamble on: August 30, 2021, 07:42:52 PM
Same day, two completely different articles around the matter:
Small correction: The second article was published on the 22nd of August Smiley

Where do you think the truth stand or rather a more objective approach on what is really going on in El Salvador?
It's a little bit of both [like what @NeuroticFish posted] and it's perfectly normal. On one side, it's the computer illiterate people that think they're being brainwashed while on the other side, it's the younger [for the most part] generation that has at least a basic idea of what it is and what it could achieve... The latter one may be the minority at this moment [based on the surveys], but that doesn't mean they can't influence others [it'll take time].
- Personally, I'm expecting to see a similar outcome to how people changed their opinion about Japanese cars over the years [it didn't have a good reputation, but look where it stands now].
2209  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] CryptoSwapper.net is a clone of UltraMixer.net [connected or a rip-off] on: August 30, 2021, 05:23:09 PM
-Similar UI? CryptoSwapper supports swaps for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Dash, Litecoin, and  Monero.
It's funny that you mentioned those because that's the only thing that separates your so-called "CryptoSwapper 2.0" from the other fake platform [everything else is pretty much the same]!

The first version was only in DeepWeb for a long time (onion site).
When it started and until when it lasted? I do know it's harder to track such websites, but there isn't even a single sign [I even checked some of the dark web forums, but had no luck] that it existed at one point!

-The swapper has been running on clearnet for more that two months and no user has complained in any place.
Perhaps nobody has tried it yet, since I couldn't find a single review Roll Eyes

-Please, I would like you to try the service and then do a review in this same forum.
I will never use a service with various red flags and I'm still not convinced that you're not connected to the other fake platform!
2210  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAMMER] xayan123 aka Zayaan Ibrahim +SCAMMER BIG LIAR TIME WASTER on: August 30, 2021, 02:40:44 PM
we agreed with him 20 day ago for our project  Delivery in 1 or 2 weeks
Can you add another screenshot to show that he agreed to deliver within that period [just blur/censor the sensitive parts]?

we gave him 4 days extra time chance  asked him to prove had started project , he  didn't respode to us .
Apart from the part that he completely ignored you guys, he bumped [archived] his thread on 25th [a dick move]:

BTW, Did you change his name when you added him to your contacts [at the moment it says "Zayaan" but in your SS, it was xayan123] or he's the one that altered it [after you've taken those screenshots]?
- Can you double-check to make sure you were talking with the real "xayan123" and not an impersonator?
2211  Economy / Marketplace / Re: OnlyFans-like product with payments in crypto on: August 30, 2021, 01:18:50 PM
Would you be interested paying to use an OnlyFans style product
Personally, I would not spend money on a platform that a lot of its creators provide similar content [to an extent] on few other platforms for free!

In regards to the NFT part, I just googled and checked a few at random and all of them had a very small social media following [perhaps you should ditch that part].
2212  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Top Urgent-Bilaxy exchange Hacked Notice!! on: August 30, 2021, 11:12:04 AM
I wonder why would anyone choose such platform, instead of the big and reputable crypto exchanges.
Based on some of the comments from the above tweet, they're one of those exchanges that literally lists any coin.

What other Crypto wallet providers and Exchanges has been hacked in the last couple of months?
You can see most of the hacked exchanges in the following lists:
- IIRC, it's missing one/two of the recent hacks.

On the latest update [archived], they didn't even mention anything about refund [I know it takes time before they could sort everything out but still, not a good sign].
2213  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Asset Management Platform - what do you think? on: August 30, 2021, 09:29:05 AM
Meanwhile, we are almost there with the lending page: https://www.iqube.app/ Feedback is more than welcome!
Suggestions:

  • I had a quick glance at its features and it didn't look like there's a way to insert notes on each trade [you might want to consider adding it].
  • Expand its base currency/cryptocurrency.

There's a small bug/glitch in your "Contact" page.

It looks promising [bookmarked] Wink
2214  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: August 29, 2021, 03:15:26 PM

Update:
@SFR10, napakaraming salamat sa sagot mo kabayan, appreciate it very much.
You're very welcome Smiley
2215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cuba 🇨🇺 regulates the use of cryptocurrencies for commercial operations on: August 29, 2021, 02:03:27 PM
I also wanted to know more about an official announcement from the Cuban government and I did not see it. Only the article mentions that it was a decree on the official Gazette. I went to the website of the Official Gazette of Cuba and I was not able to see the decree either. Perhaps it is not yet available to the public, hopefully it is available.

https://www.gacetaoficial.gob.cu/
Here you go: Official Gazette No. 73 Extraordinary of 2021
- You have to download the PDF file to see everything [it's in Spanish].

Regardless of how they'll try to regulate it, personally, I think it'll be more beneficial to the government, as opposed to its citizens.
- Perhaps they're planning to legally and indirectly use it as a workaround to US sanctions.
2216  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-08-26]11% of young Americans have invested their stimulus checks into cryp on: August 29, 2021, 11:24:24 AM
As someone who hates reading about most newcomers seeing it as an investment asset, I still enjoyed the part that mentioned the percentage of those that see it as a long-term investment [60%], but one thing that bothered me was the part that said their main source for analyzing the market is "social media".
- There are a lot of active clowns on platforms like Twitter and the fact that they use such platforms as their main source, worries me!
2217  Other / Meta / Re: What is your favorite post or most memorable moment on this forum? on: August 29, 2021, 09:03:23 AM
Two of my most memorable moments happened in the "Collectibles" board:
- That board deserves a lot more attention than it gets.

  • The first time that I purchased a collectible item: Link
  • The first time that I received a "free" collectible item: Link
    - I was using that keychain up until the last few months [more than 5 years].
2218  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: August 29, 2021, 07:51:44 AM

Yes, pwede pa rin niya iwithdraw yung pinadala mo sa kanya, as long as na mag register siya with that number [within 5 days]. If for some reason di siya pwede mag register within that period, automatically ibabalik nila yung amount sa account mo Wink

2219  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] CryptoSwapper.net is a clone of UltraMixer.net [connected or a rip-off] on: August 29, 2021, 07:01:34 AM
CryptoSwapper is a legitimate site.
Yeah, right! Roll Eyes

You cannot affirm CryptoSwapper is scam only because the texts that we use.
Apart from the fact that you've plagiarized from a "scam" mixing platform, both of you have registered your domain under the exact same registrar [an unpopular one], and on top of that, both fake platforms have a very similar UI [e.g. animated graphics and etc...].
- The more I look at it, the more I'm convinced that a single person has designed both of these websites.

We have been using these texts for a long time in our mixer service in .onion.
And yet there's no sign [.onion] anywhere on your website Roll Eyes + I wouldn't classify a website that's been around for less than 4 months as "a long time".

if you have any question or suggestion about our services please let us know.
On your website, it says the following line... Care to point us to a place that proves you had "hundreds of thousands of users"?

2220  Economy / Scam Accusations / [SCAM] CryptoSwapper.net is a clone of UltraMixer.net [connected or a rip-off] on: August 28, 2021, 06:29:09 PM
What happened:
The usual... I stumbled upon something that I knew I've read before, so I did some digging and found its source!
- Having said that, I have a strong feeling that they're both connected.
