3101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Meta CEO found dead suspected of suicide on: March 06, 2014, 06:10:37 AM
Except that First Meta isn't a bitcoin exchange.

First Meta has been around a long time dealing with Linden Dollar, and some IMVU credits stuff, but nothing on Bitcoin.

Retarded journalism and retarded news cross-posting without fact check.

I'm not sure what definition of exchange you're using, but...

Just now saw the headline via Google News. You'll never guess which person went through my mind upon reading just the title--the Magic: the Gathering of Bitcoins golden boy. I was shocked to read that it was a woman. I've never heard of First Meta until a few minutes a go. Hope that doesn't mean that I'm outta the loop.

Definitely out of the loop Phinn.

WSJ reported the story last week when it happened.

blogs.wsj.com/digits/2014/02/27/american-ceo-of-singapore-startup-first-meta-dies/

reddit noticed it at the time.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1z2fi1//autumn_radtke_ceo_of_first_meta_a_singaporebased

What's kind of interesting is that so many Bitcoiners only seem to be hearing about this now that it's been picked up by the mainstream media which they claim to avoid like the plague.

Her death was reported on 27 February Asian time, the day before MtGox filed court papers - the early reports suggest that she may have died the previous night (26 February).

Thanks, bud. Just got up to speed, myself.

Autumn sure did do a lot of traveling.

The first thing that Autumn ever did on her FB page was 'like' https://www.facebook.com/geodelic

Scroll down a tad and you find...

Surely, she was wasn't the waitress in Hawaii that paid for a certain $100K ticket with bitcoins. Or is she?
3104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Meta CEO found dead suspected of suicide on: March 06, 2014, 02:30:30 AM
If she was found dead on Feb. 28th, then whats the deal with people on her facebook page writing comments as if they knew she was dead as of Feb. 26th within the shared post on Feb 10th about The Psychological Price of Entrepreneurship.

https://www.facebook.com/autumn.radtke?fref=ts&ref=br_tf

Interesting.

WTF!

I may not have known of Autumn, but I sure the hell knew of Johann Gevers: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=112492.0 He showed up here after I penned about 3 suicides related to Laissez Faire City, Sonny Vleisides' old entity. He was the one that did the audit after its demise. In the long ass audit, he never once mentions Sonny's name, only always referring to him as The Silver King, et al.'s son.

Thanks for sharing, Autumn—I've certainly experienced my share of what the article talks about!

The Motorcycle section is headed by B.M., a young and talented Graphic Designer. B.M. is the founder of NIHON CAR & BIKE. As a designer in an advertising agency, B.M. worked a lot on the promotion of Japanese big brand motorcycles like Honda.

The Car section is headed by G.-A.G., who is also the founder of the technology website Akihabara News and CEO of the Japanese company HIC, the parent company of the online shop site GeekStuff4U.com.

The English translations of the car and motorcycle news are handled by S.D., who works for a very big Japanese manufacturer of electronics equipment in Europe.

We would like to thank G.LM. and M.-F.D. for their help on the French texts, as well as our own technical genius V.T. without whom we would not have been able to set up this website. Finally, we would like to thank the SOROBANGEEKS association, the leading French group when it comes to mobility solutions, for hosting NCB on their servers.

If you want to get in touch with the editor of the Nihon Car & Bike website, please use the form. All questions and remarks will be answered and handled as long as they are in line with our activities of Nihon Car and Bike. We thank you for your understanding.

3113  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mtgox is changing owners on: March 05, 2014, 09:36:39 PM
Hello Everyone
I created mtgox on a lark after reading about bitcoins last summer. It has been interesting and fun to do. I’m still very confident that bitcoins have a bright future. But to really make mtgox what it has the potential to be would require more time than I have right now. So I’ve decided to pass the torch to someone better able to take the site to the next level.
MagicalTux has already contributed a lot to the bitcoin community and in many ways he will be better at running the site than I was. He has much more experience with web programming, system administration and integrating with banks and other payment processors than I do.

Everything will still work the same as always for the time being. But expect a lot of positive changes after he takes over including:
Automatic (and free) funding from Euro accounts.
Automatic ACH deposit and withdrawal.
Margin trading.
Interface redesign.
Lifting the $1000 a day withdrawal limit.

Thanks to everyone that has supported mtgox so far. Can’t wait to see BTC hit $10!

I can still be reached on the forum as "jed" or through fivegrinder.com

This post was created at 9:36:39 AM on a Sunday, local time in Japan.

Mt Gox's Twitter account was created on March 3, 2011: http://twopcharts.com/tweets/mtgox

Wow...  not a very advanced troll, but a very effective one.

Nasty.  Sad to see it here.

If directed at me, not advanced because I'm not one. At least I don't come here to purposely troll even though on the surface my posting activity may dictate elsewise. It truly is not my intent. If it were, I would be man enough to admit that I am indeed a troll. I have written a handful of troll posts though, mostly of the humor kind. There may be a half dozen posts of mine that could easily be considered troll posts. I'm a pretty straight-up kinda guy.

My point is the word is so culturally charged it is, in my opinion, better to not be used.  Sure I can say NIGGER, and I can do it in all caps, and I can call someone that name without being particularly racist.  I can justify using the word by using it for all races equally... or not really.

And I think it is ridiculous that there are those here who have labeled you a racist based on your use of a word.  It is a ridiculous and intellectually shallow accusation.  Even if many people who use that word do indeed disdain blacks.

My thought that you might be trolling was based n the fact that, having read your posts, I would consider you intelligent enough to realize using this word sometimes causes pain or discomfort to some black people, as well as get's shallow thinkers are riled up and jumpy.  Therefore I'd imagine you'd not be one to use it.  Therefore you were trolling.

I was wrong.

I will defend your right to use the word nigger.  And I will also agree that using it does not make you a racist.  I do, however think using it is at least foolish most of the time.

Your post has merit.

I was one hot son of a bitch when I penned the OP, but still stand by it and my subsequent posts.

I do not hate the black race. From from it. I do HATE the word hate, though, and don't use in everyday conversation, albeit I chose words that have the same exact meaning when I'm speaking.

I do recall using the word nigger toward a white redneck dude when I lived in Alabama because his actions warranted it. I was spitting (not purposely, but saliva was ejected) in his face using the said term a myriad of times. That dude was truly one piece of shit. Moreover, a NIGGER!
3116  Other / Off-topic / Re: Since my last post, we were almost killed due to some NIGGER! on: March 05, 2014, 07:38:52 PM
phinnaeus, I used to like and respect you. Until now. Yes the black guy was wrong beating your niece, if you were a man you would have beat his ass back,, but no, you seem to be a little bitch who likes to come online and talk raciest shit because you cant use your hands to deal with the guy who beat the shit outa your niece.

If anyone here disagrees with me feel free to start a debate with me but all in all I believe Phinnaeus is a punk-bitch who has no balls and is only a man because he was born with a cock, not because he has any balls!

I know what you look like and if I ever see you in real life you can expect a sucker punch from me that will knock your lights out. You're way out of bounds here and someone needs to put you in your place.

Bob, let's meet up! I'll even give you the first punch. Seriously!

Back to beating the shit outta that NIGGER. The dude disappeared before I got there as stated in the OP. Perhaps, if I wasn't so fired up inside, the accident may not occurred of which could have easily killed four innocent people due to some NIGGER's actions.

I apologize that the word nigger offends you. IT'S JUST A WORD!

First of all nigger is not just a word. Apple or car or building are just words. Nigger is a word used by bigots like yourself to dehumanize black people.

Second, I'll let you give me three hits, then I get one. Are you ok with this old man?

Kruqualos: An offencive word one million times worse than nigger.

Bobsurplus is a Kruqualos!

Given the definition, I just insulted you worse that if I were to call some random person a nigger. I would fathom a guess that you weren't even insulted.

BTW, the police are now looking for the NIGGER that keep calling my niece on her cell phone, going as far as to leaving a message that he is going to kill her.

This NIGGER's action is in no way indicative of the entire African or any other race.
3117  Other / Off-topic / Re: Since my last post, we were almost killed due to some NIGGER! on: March 05, 2014, 07:21:35 PM
shameful Piece of human filth the OP is.

to think he is leader of https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=52543.20 what a disgrace and shame he brings to that group.

Dude, there was no reason to obfuscate the name of the group. It's called Bitcoin 100. And it has endowed a many black organizations of which I fully endorsed. I'd be glad to take the time to hunt down my endorsement, but in the meantime you can probably find them on this list: http://bitcoin100.org/charities/

So you say you help by endorsing black organizations, I wonder how they would feel if the read this thread.

Please take the time to hunt them down so i can send them a copy of this thread!

Why don't you hunt them down and send them a letter?

Still blows my mind that Global Foundries hasn't gotten back to us yet after asking a simple non-NDA question: Does Black Arrow have a contract with Global Foundries to produce a 28nm chip?

A large company like Verisilicon had no problem with replying within...wait for it...12 hours after first being asked. Then a follow up letter. Then another.

True.
