@patrike,

Is there any way we can apply a GPU profile by GPU instead of per RIG (i.e. set GPU0 Power Limit = 60% and GPU1 Power Limit = 80%)?
Not today, but I do get several requests for this so the plan is to improve the flexibility for these configuration scenarios.
3142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: January 09, 2018, 07:39:09 AM
With the latest update, none of my templates will take on remote rigs. I select a new profile to launch different mining software and they keep only starting the same software.

As an example, I was mining Cryptonite. I then want to switch to ETH. Select a different template for the managed miner and apply it. Software shutsdown and new software starts up. However, the "new" software is the exact same software from the previous profile. I have run the "Upgrade Remote Agent" on the remote rigs.

What am I missing or is this a new bug?
If you open the Properties of this miner after applying the profile - is the information correct? What if you manually stop and then start the miner, is it starting with the correction configuration?
Can you also manually version on one of the Remote Agents that it's in fact the same version of Awesome Miner. Thanks!

Hello I have been using Awesome miner for some weeks now and really like it! Smiley However, I have stumbled into a small problem, I find that the newest version of excavator is not supported by the managed software called "Excavator (BETA) 1.1.4a (nVidia GPU). The command arguments have probably changed. Therefore I can not run it as a profit switcher miner? This miner seems to be really good at a few algos now, I understand they have some kind of eula so you cannot redistribute it, but you could still update its API? Or would it be possible to add so one can add any miner and make it a profite miner?
It's correct that the new versions of Excavator are forbidden to be automatically download by Awesome Miner, as Nicehash EULA restricts this. That's one of the reason why I didn't prioritize putting any effort into this mining software. The other reason is that the API and entire setup of this mining software is a bit strange, and was changed a lot from their previous versions. I do understand that it could still make sense to support it, but Excavator didn't turn out to be so popular in the community anyway.

I'm getting a large number of questions and requests these days so even if this item is on the list of features to implement, it has not yet been a top priority. Thanks for your feedback on this.
3144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: January 09, 2018, 07:31:31 AM
I have the Afterburner software and remote server installed on a remote rig (all of them). However, when I reboot the ABRS does not start up. It is located in the same path on every rig and has the same User. There is NO password for each rig though. Is that the issue? How can I fix this for AM to start ABRS like it is supposed to?

I have the same path, user and password setup on both of my rigs and am having the same issue.

Please fix.  Thanks!!
Can you verify if MSI Afterburner shows up in the Task Scheduler (you find this on the Start menu in Windows) once you configured the MSI Afterburner auto start via Awesome Miner?
3145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: January 09, 2018, 07:24:29 AM
It is not an AVS issue  it is a path issue.  please notice the very last digit in the path.

The program is trying to open
Code:
C:\Users\Sean\AppData\Local\AwesomeMiner\EthDcrMiner64_1\Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred_Siacoin_Lbry_Pascal AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.3

The computer has this installed
Code:
C:\Users\Sean\AppData\Local\AwesomeMiner\EthDcrMiner64_1\Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred_Siacoin_Lbry_Pascal AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.2

AM says it is up to date

The path is correct.

v10.2 was used by Awesome Miner 4.3.1.
v10.3 is used by Awesome Miner 4.3.2

If the folder 10.2 exists it indicates that the previous version was downloaded and extracted successfully. That however not helping the situation for the new versions. Can you please try to manually remove all content of this folder to force Awesome Miner to download it again:
C:\Users\Sean\AppData\Local\AwesomeMiner\

If i do that it downloads sg miner and cpu-opt but none of the claymore stuff

In addition now the paths are wrong for sg miner (it downloaded 5.6.1)
Code:
Starting Diagnostics. Awesome Miner version: 4.3.2
Starting Mining Software
Setting up Miner Engine. Instance: 1
Engine Type: SgGmMiner, Auto Download: True, EnginePath: , Subtype: Disabled, CustomExecutable:
Added rule for: C:\Users\Sean\AppData\Local\AwesomeMiner\sgminer-gm-5.5.4_1\sgminer-gm\sgminer.exe
C:\Users\Sean\AppData\Local\AwesomeMiner\sgminer-gm-5.5.4_1\sgminer-gm\sgminer.exe --config awesome.conf --text-only --algorithm equihash   (WindowMode: ConsoleFormat, EngineType: SgGmMiner, IsProfitMiner: True)

Starting to wish I did not buy this

If i do that it downloads sg miner and cpu-opt but none of the claymore stuff

that's even more like antivirus is at work here, if you ever suspect you have already excluded AM and all its relevant folders from AV scan, you can try go to claymore's dual miner thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433925.0 and manually download/extract the miner then pointing the path to wherever you extract the EXE and see if you hit any obstacles. you point to the EXE in the profit profile window if using profit miner (from the logs seems you are)

I appreciate the help but it is for sure not my AV.  It is a path issue for the most part

1) For Claymore Ethereum:  Can you manually download and extract this mining software into the path where Awesome Miner expect it? Does that work?
https://s3.amazonaws.com/awesomeminer-download/claymore_ethminer_v10.3.zip

2) For sgminer: Sgminer and Sgminer-gm are different software with different version numbers.
sgminer-5.6.1-nicehash-51-windows-i386
sgminer-gm-5.5.4
The folder name for sgminer-gm is correct in your diagnostics output

Please also note that when you run profit switching, the mining software selected by Awesome Miner will not be the same all the time. That's why you see Claymore being used at first, then sgminer and so on.

Which antivirus or security softare are you running?
3146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: January 08, 2018, 05:16:15 PM
Just how accurate are the profits per day on Awesome miner? Watched a whole bunch of Youtube vids where people claim that the profits AM gives is innacurate compared to the real worth of these said coins. Can anybody shed some light on this for me? Cause on certain sites it says I make about $9-11 a day on 24 hours statistic with my GTX 1080Ti but I'm not seeing it. Thanks.

Plus what would you guys suggest to put by statistics: Current or 24 hours?
Please see this guide that explains how the profit calculations are used and what can make them inaccurate:
http://awesomeminer.com/help/coinstats.aspx

In short, Awesome Miner is never making up any numbers, but simply uses what the pools are reporting in terms of profitability and multiplies this with your hashrate.
3147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: January 08, 2018, 05:13:49 PM
I'm seeing another strange error...

On one of my rig, about once every few-10 mins, it reports on the console that it lost connection with the server, and dns cannot be resolved (all reported in RED fonts). AM app reports that the rig is offline yet the rig is still mining. In this case, it's Equihash algorithm. If I wait long enough, eventually AM picks it back up and reports all info normally.

I did check to see if my WiFi card is bad, perhaps going flaky, but that was not the case.

Any ideas? Not disastrous since mining hasn't stopped but kinda difficult to distinguish between real failures vs one of these...
I am seeing this as well

Good, so at least I'm not alone. Smiley

Perhaps the server is having intermittent connectivity issues?
This is the mining software that lost connection to your pool, which typically is outside the control of Awesome Miner. Which pool is it?

Please let me know what specific information you want me to clarify or improve in addition to this.
Can I get a pointer on how to update my custom coins automatically via either the C# or HTTP API? It's useless for me to update them manually..

Patrike, can you point me in the right direction? I'm trying to update a custom coin with the C# scripting interface and I am unsure how to save my updates back (or if It even functions like this)

Code:
public class ActionScript
{
private ContextProvider Context = ScriptManager.Context;

public bool Execute(List<IMinerBase> list)
{

Muncoin bob = new Muncoin();
bob.SetProperties("", 0, 0, 0);
return true;
}

}

public class Muncoin : ICoinStatProvider
{
public string coinShortName;
public double difficulty;
public double reward;
public double valueBtc;

public Muncoin()
{
}

public void SetProperties(string _coinShortName, double _difficulty, double _reward, double _valueBtc)
{
coinShortName = "MUN";
difficulty  = 10;
reward = 10;
valueBtc = 10;
}

}

I REALLY need some way to automatically update custom coins..

What's possible with C# script today is using:
Code:
void SetProperties(string coinShortName, double difficulty, double reward, double valueBtc);

Code:
public class ActionScript
{
private ContextProvider Context = ScriptManager.Context;

public bool Execute(List<IMinerBase> list)
{
Context.CoinStat.SetProperties("LTC", 3700000, 25, 0.019);
return true;
}

}

The drawback is that it's more intended for coin properties based on difficult and similar parameters.

Sometimes it's easier to just set profitability in BTC per MH/s, and I can implement that for you over the HTTP API in the next release if needed. It could be something like:
POST /api/coins/LTC?profit=0.000014
OMG was it seriously that simple? Thank you so much.

HTTP API access for this would be great though, I would love to write an external program to gather bleeding edge coins and update them in AM.
I will add the HTTP API in the next release.

Hello Patrike,
I noticed something a little annoying regarding coins statistics. If i set AM to use 24h average statistics to decide what to mine, then the price of coins displayed in the bottom bar change to an average price on the last 24h too.
Would it be possible to have the coins listed in bottom bar to always list the current price even if i use 24h average for profit switching ?
That's a good point. This will consider making this change.

I am interested in the custom C# scripting features as well, but it's unclear from the documentation how to do this. I've search for resources or examples beyond the AM docs on how to create and implement the scripts. Any help is appreciated. Maybe we could even start a Git project to house some useful scripts with docs on how to use. I'm interested in creating some custom logging of mining activities and events.

How do we run the c# scripts? Should we put them in a specific directory to be interpreted by awesome miner or should we develop an executable using those interfaces? If second option, which dll's should we reference?

Ok, I solved it by adding reference to am executable.
Were you actually able to get that to work? I was not successful.

Yes, just add a reference to AwesomeMiner.exe and import required namespaces like "AwesomeMiner.Infrastructure.Contracts.Miner" and "AwesomeMiner.Components.Intelligence.Scripting".
But apart from that it didn't fulfill my expectations because the interface does not contain methods like creating a new pool.
Thanks for the info. Yeah I'm finding I cannot create new or update custom coins via the API which is extremely frustrating and disappointing.
I have clarified this on the web site now.
http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/script.aspx

Please let me know what specific information you want me to clarify or improve in addition to this.

The scripts are only intended to be executed as part of an Awesome Miner Rule, where Triggers or Actions are used. The scripts cannot be used from an external application or be developed in Visual Studio. To integrate with Awesome Miner from external applications, the Awesome Miner HTTP API should be used.

To start using the script feature, go to the Options dialog, Rules section and create a new user defined rule. A C# script can be added as either a Trigger or an Action.

A C# script for a Trigger can return a list of miners to signal that it has triggered for those miners. The complete list of miners is passed in to the Trigger as an input parameter. Return null to not trigger.

A C# script for an Action has a list miners passed in as an input parameter. The action is intended to be executed for this list of miners.

ok so just read the path in the diag output.

did a copy/paste from a machine that was working to the broken machine... BAM!  works now.

WTF!   AM should have tried to redownload the app, maybe its a bug?  idk either way  thanks for pointing me to the diag file which helped solve the issue!
Even if you resolved the problem already, I will still give an answer in case you or someone else run into a similar issue in the future.

"The system cannot find the file specified" is almost always an indication that Awesome Miner did download the mining software, but when it's about to get started, your security software already removed the mining software. That's why the file for the mining software cannot be found.

Awesome Miner will automatically try to download it every time you try to start the miner if the file is missing - but if it keeps getting removed it will not work.

I've quite recently added this Troubleshooting GPU Mining guide on the web site, that will help with the most common issues that the Diagnostics might indicate:
http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/troubleshooting-gpu.aspx

Although you already tried with disabling Windows Defender, sometime it activates itself again and simply continue blocking. I also have a guide on the web site how to configure exclusions in Windows Defender to solve this:

Wanting to know if there is an API call or script that will return the data displayed in the "online Services" tab.

Is this stored in AM, or is it just displaying multiple API calls out to those pools?

Either way, I'd love to automated the reading of this list to control some switching on external miners.
There is no API method for that today.

The External Profit Switcher already uses the information from the Online Services tab as input to setting pool priority:

Is there a way to setup awesomeminer to exclude some coins from mining on pools with auto switch ? I have a rig with nvidia 1060 x3 and one 970 card, so 970 is kinda sucks with ETH and ETC mining, it gives only 7MH/s instead of 24MH/s but it's good with young ether forks. So now i have to completely disable ethereum algo from mining for this rig because if Ethereum is most profitable coin for now then my rig working on it only with 70MH/s instead of 90MH/s.

So how to disable 2 specific coins for that rig ?

You can't exclude specific coins out of the box, because that's not how pools like Zpool work.  You can exclude whole algorithms though.  You can uncheck the Ethash algorithm from your profit profile, then it will not switch to that at all.

Now, there is a way to exclude specific coins, but you have to manually setup each individual coin's pool URL and port in individual stand alone pools, then bunch them together in a pool group... then tell AM to use the custom pool group to profit switch against.  It's a little bit of work to setup the individual coins as individual pools... which is why sites like Zpool make it easier to just mine the algorithm... and AM just leverages this auto-switching ability.

I guess could make this a feature suggestion/request to Patrike such that in the future you could be able to specify for individual miners which Online Services/Custom Pools it uses, with a check/uncheck all button. Since right now the Online Services applies to all miners...that essentially is specifying individual pools manually, but even then, we cannot yet (I can't find it) pick individual pools for Managed Profit Miners.

My plan is to implement support for this scenario by allowing configuration of this per Profit profile. For example to add custom pools per profile and to disable a specific predefined pool per profile.

I upgraded to Premium to get logging and Afterburner integration. However, now I am finding out that I can not use profiles as needed. It lets me set a profile for each GPU on a rig, but not a group of GPU's.

What I want is the ability to set each GPU to their profile setting 1 for certain coins and profile setting 5 for others (etc). I already have them configured on each machine, but want AM to switch the settings when the coin switches. Can someone point me to information on how to do what I need it to do if possible?

Thank you.
I do know that the GPU clocking profile configuration can be made flexible for scenarios where different GPU types are used, and I have this on my todo-list.

You can set GPU clocking profile per algorithm if you right click on a Managed Profit Miner and select Edit Profit Profile. It will be applied when the profit switcher is doing its work.
