as long as I got a miner and it is keep working and not make me trouble and too much electric bill

Electricity bill is almost a big problem as initial cost of equipment.   Depends on how fast you receive item.

Almost as if buying BTC would've been better.

As to litecoin, I wouldn't worry much. Lots of folks trying to get it to go low to buy up a bunch  before the big spike.

Great sense of humor Vesperwillow !

You know me, always cutting up.

The chance for positive ROI based on projected crypto values over the next 2 years, went out the window when they missed their July shipping projection.

...and as I keep posting but few people care, their intention was to ship the new device in march but that was before their Dator Hall intention.  All you have to go on are the voiced intentions of the company.  Stop making excuses for their failures as they are quite capable of that without your assistance.  They will continue to screw would-be miners while you quibble about the use of the English language.

I remember them saying something effectively:  "we sure would love to ship this as soon as Q1, but it could be up to the end of Q2", and within a few days of the orderbooks opening it was very clear that Q2 would be the likely shipdate. Anyone with capability to do basic math would've known Q1 wasn't even a realistic possibility. Their voiced intention, as I just quoted, is not the same as the official company progress/newsletter. It might be seen as semantics to some, but there's a difference between "what we would like to do" and "this is the official word of KNC".

Yeah, people are upset. I've got no skin in the game, I'm not defending them, I'm just examining the facts. Fact is, they said they'd love to be super early, but provided official declaration that it could be as late as the end of Q2.

I told everyone to expect to see late June, possibly July for shipping, based on what I knew of the internal process and their capability. I was off by weeks at most, which isn't bad.

1. They stated in its product description that batch 1 would begin shipping around one month after customer only batch.
2. They stated in its product description that batch 2 would begin shipping around one month after batch 1.
3. They stated in its product description that batch 2 would begin shipping in Q2.

Combine these three statements and you get them saying that the customer only batch would begin shipping two months before the end of Q2, and batch 1 one month before the end of Q2. This obviously didn't happen. The customer only batch began shipping just before Q3, nearly two months late.

From memory, batch 0 (customer appreciation BS batch) was to ship by end of Q2, followed 1 month later by batch 1. This then got shifted, causing a shitstorm, so that batch 1 would be shipped about a week after batch 0. Batch 2 is as you describe.

It provides a cascade of lateness, there's no doubt about that. But you guys are forgetting that Neptunes for batch 0 began shipping in early June. Back in the 178x page range, people were having Neptunes hit their doors. So batch 0 shipped on time. Reports of users from batch 1 receiving shipping info on/before 6/30 started coming in as well, which fits in with their less-than-a-month difference in those 2 batches. I suppose it could be argued on a technicality whether they began shipping then or not, but as far as I would call it, 0 and 1 shipped "by end of Q2".

I wouldn't argue batch 2 shipping late, I was simply saying, not by months.

Again this all seems to be semantics. Some folks are pointing at Q1 or early Q2, but the reality is end of Q2 was the official window. Even then the fine print says "we could still be late".

This is why I tell people to just buy bitcoin.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 18, 2014, 01:46:53 PM
They were to start shipping by then, not complete it.

No, Neptunes sold with shipping Q1/Q2 means all of the batch shipping by end of June, not just some.

That might be how you interpret it, but it doesn't mean that was the intention. KNC's first 2 batches of gear last year were advertised as 'starting shipment by ...', not completed shipping by. Context would suggest this also carried over into the new gear.

Example: https://web.archive.org/web/20131109171320/https://www.kncminer.com/categories/miners

"Shipment begins ..."

And for the Neptunes themselves: https://web.archive.org/web/20131212133634/https://www.kncminer.com/categories/miners

"Shipment begins in Q1/Q2 of 2014"

Not completed by, or wholly shipped out by... begins. They've never once said, in any official documentation or newsletter, that their items would be wholly shipped by a certain day--merely begins.

There cannot be any positive reviews of miners that arrived some 2 months late. But they say "During the weeks since our customers started up their Neptune" so I presume it was carefully drafted. KnC has become a rogue, predatory scamm-like sucker. I am sure they are in troubles.

Their announced shipping date was up through 7/31/2014. When did they ship 2 months late?

batch one was supposed to be sent by the end of Q2 which is 30/06. And they completed it I think last week. So ok maybe it is not 2 months but only 6 week or a bit less than that. But there was also this situation with "Hash while you wait". KnC is in deep shit.
They over promise and under deliver.

They were to start shipping by then, not complete it. They started that in early July didn't they? Either way, yes a little late, but certainly not by months--doesn't excuse their missing the deadline, but at least they didn't ship 45~ days late like lastyear. I told everyone back in January to expect late June/early July shipping for Neptunes, and Aug/Sep for Titans.

Crypto hardware is really a game for folks who can make high-tech IC's hit doors quickly. By default, this lead goes to our Asian friends, and it's no wonder the chinese companies have been the ones shipping the fastest and in greatest volume, and it all started back in the Bitcoin ASIC days. Now you have GAW for the Scrypt stuff.

Since then, the Swedes (KNC) have been the only group to also knock it out of the park, and this is likely because they're the only group of focused individuals with the right skillsets and experience to make it happen, and now they're branching into Scrypt and other stuff.

Ever since then you've had places popping up trying to get in on it, because we all know the folks selling the shovels will always make more than the folks digging for gold. It's really simple analysis and math. I've always only invested in the Chinese and KNC gear for this reason.

Absolutely sucks for folks who've lost out on ventures like this, and others, and this is why I try to wave flags and help people pull their money out before it's too late.

As to Flower tech, weren't they originally in bed with the Alpha tech folks? I coulda swore I remember them talking amongst themselves well over a year ago, about a partnership.

200 chips = 5400 US$, it's 27 US$ per chip, or 108 US$ per four chips in one Jupiter. "We sell these chips in sets of 200, for a considerably lower sum than we paid for them ourselves". Don't know how they define "considerably less", but it may be something like they've paid 110-150 US$ for four chips per Jupiter. Remind me again what were those Jupiters priced?

Whatever they were priced, it cost KNC $1,000USD to make each one with 4 boards.

well seems if the above is correct.....Vaultbreaker WILL beat KNC to market....Aug 25th they will start hosting those ordered until machines shipped it seems

note the links above they are pretty clear they want to beat the Titan's to market by a month if possible

I'd prefer to have TWO firms fight it out under the queens berry rules like gentleman for the betterment of the customers.....but KNC has said

So many folks worry about mining. I hopped out of worrying about getting BTC mining equipment last year, based on my projections. So far they've payed out nicely, the equipment I had ROI'd and returned me some good coin. I've then since just bought it cheap, and Scrypt-mined myself a year's worth of bill money.

Seriously folks, just buy bitcoin. It's better than buying equipment and mining at this point. Actually, it has been since.. January.
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: August 15, 2014, 01:02:19 PM
KNC is a good example of just how long it actually takes to do something right. They reached tapeout when.. June I believe? Then went to the wafering process, and here we are in August they're working on the encapsulation process.

Why people thought AT could start tapeout in May, and deliver in July, is far beyond my comprehension. It just doesn't work that way, and it was pointed out many times. And here AT is again promising September delivery, despite claiming to re-start the whole process at the end of July (though I suspect it may be June). Even for KNC to make delivery of the Titan on schedule will be cutting it close, and this is their 2nd major tapeout/delivery for the year.

Yeah, there's a difference between simply drawing a correlation or speculating, and then going down a road and throwing terms. C'mon people.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 14, 2014, 04:44:47 PM
They're on their way to encapsulation, which took about 2 weeks the last few times they've done it? Another 2 weeks for assembly/testing/runups, and then shipping. Theoretically they could still make their September shipment.

I got forum banned for 3 days after i express my concern that this could be Terrorist funding there evil operations.

One thing is for sure, the timing of the departure of certain individuals couldn't have come worse, with many extremists and monetary supporters heading to those ISIS folks. Many of them everyday college and career people.
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 14, 2014, 12:21:15 PM
I wouldn't panic too much, especially about LTC price. It's being brought low to buy up in volume, so that when all of these monster machines hit (KNC, GAW, etc) and the difficulty goes up by exponents, the folks who bought low can sell high to the people who are now in a panic-buy-mode. Happened last year, happens every now and then.

My advice would be to buy some LTC now, and not worry, simply wait till you get your gear and can hash.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 13, 2014, 04:00:23 PM
KNC advertised batch 1 and 2 titans will be shipped within quarter 3.

If KNC misses this deadline they've duped the consumer or at the least failed to meet their obligations.

It'd stand to reason that would be grounds for demanding a refund.

Duped would presume ill intention on their part. If they miss their september projection, which has been known for a couple of months now, then I'd say they simply ended up late. They were about a month late last year.
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: August 13, 2014, 12:20:59 PM
To me that company announcement reads like: Please stop pulling money from me, the company is about to go under.
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POT] PotCoin Launches Today 01/21 @ 4:20 on: August 12, 2014, 01:37:47 PM
It's likely the folks who are looking to make a profit when the big asic machines hit in the next 30-45 days. Petahash upon petahash in one single shipment. Drop the price, buy a lot, and when people see the difficulty go up tenfold they'll be willing to panic purchase the coins from folks who bought in low just prior.
338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has the NSA already broken bitcoin? on: August 12, 2014, 04:25:25 AM
If the NSA can crack encryption, and can crack Tor, it would be in their best interests to have the public believe that they cannot do such things. These people specialize in misinformation, so when the NSA says they "will never be able to deanonymize all Tor users all the time," I wouldn't be so quick to believe it.

The public is usually so uncaring about the truth it doesn't usually matter, as long as they get their entertainment.

Americans are generally foolish sheep, too desirous to believe the happy fairy tales about their government, and incapable of handling the reality. As long as they stay entertained and appeased, they'll sign away all of their freedoms and rights.

339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has the NSA already broken bitcoin? on: August 11, 2014, 07:47:00 PM
The NSA is only working for one country though right? they couldn't possibly affect us in other countries could they?

Working 'for' one country, or working 'in' ? Their primary allegience is the US, but they gather intel from all over the globe, and I'm sure use it as leverage with other governments to their advantage.
