There is no update on the future of Japanese Grand Prix yet but I hope things aren't very serious there.  Sad  If the conditions are okay I would really love to watch this race like many other people. It is once again an early race for the most part of the world but there is nothing to do about it. F1 lovers would set their alarms to watch it anyway.

The news about Vettel makes me excited as well. I wouldn't expect him to return this quick to F1 honestly. Maybe he got bored in his normal life and wanted to get into the action once again. Watching him race for Mercedes in 2025 would be awesome.  Smiley

True but aston villa was widening the game since it was able winning in the last game. So, the chance for manchester united and totenham to get the last spot for UCL is not there. The gap is too big considering the remaining matches are getting fewer too.
This shall become the main problem owned by ten hag, united may be firing him if he will not able to give good result at the end of season. It seems to me totenham and untied have chances to get into the europa league next season.
The chance to qualify for UCL is almost zero for totenham and united. These clubs must be only competing for the europa league spot.

For Manchester United I can agree with you. I also don't expect them to make a big comeback from the point they are at for a Champions League spot. But for Tottenham I don't think so. The gap between Aston Villa and Tottenham is only two points and Tottenham have a missing game which can be used as an advantage like I said.  Smiley

Do you really believe Tottenham have literally zero chance to close a gap like 2 points in 8 games they are going to play? That's a really bold comment honestly.  Grin  Tottenham and Aston Villa both have had inconsistencies so anything can happen.
323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: April 04, 2024, 01:51:56 PM
Atletico Madrid's main target in La Liga is to win the title, but over time they have to change their target because they failed in the competition. Atletico Madrid is already 17 points behind Real Madrid, so the target now is to maintain its position in the top four rather than the title.

Atletico Madrid's position in the top four is basically still not safe, because their point difference with Athletic Bilbao is only 2 points. Bilbao can put high pressure on Atletico Madrid for the remainder of the season and Bilbao can regain fourth place from Atletico Madrid in the next few matches. There are currently only 8 games for each team, so they will struggle to maintain their position.

Of course Simeone would always aim the top but it isn't easy to achieve with this squad. I think they have weaknesses to strengthen first. Besides I would really love to see Atletico Madrid playing an attacking game like all the time. Defensive strategy isn't a thing that I like honestly. Of course they aren't always defensive but Simeone prefers it quite often.

I know that they won the La Liga titles two times in the past it has really been difficult to keep more consistent. They need to get as solid as Real Madrid and Barcelona first to increase their chance for championships.

Newcastle still needs to improve the squad instead of letting some of its best players leave at the end of the season. Alexander Isak is one of the important players in Newcastle's squad this season, so they need to keep him instead of selling him. It is true that it is difficult for Newcastle players to hope for a title, but it is not impossible for this team to follow in the footsteps of Manchester City because of its good financial strength.

This season Newcastle's performance is very different compared to last season, even though they have improved their squad. Of course player injuries have had a significant impact on the team's performance, but that should not be the main reason why they have dropped so much so far.

Newcastle are currently one of the richest European teams but they still can't build a strong squad. This is due to not being a successful team of course. It isn't easy to convince the best players to sign for you just because of you are rich. Maybe Newcastle would stand more chance about such transfers if they have one of the best managers in the world.

However it doesn't seem likely to happen either.  Sad  They can still make this squad stronger than now to play bigger though. Besides their main problem this season has been injuries. They have had so many injured players for a long time which pulled them down a lot in the league.

Roma couldn't beat Lecce last week surprisingly. I assume Milan will show how to win against Lecce this week.  Tongue  By the way that point loss by Roma made things really difficult for them in the top four competition. Because the gap with Bologna has increased to five points by this result. Roma had better win this time to keep up at least.

When it comes to their games this week Roma are hosting Lazio while Bologna are playing against Frosinone away. I don't feel like Bologna will lose points but they shouldn't underestimate Frosinone while they are fighting to stay in the Serie A. Roma can actually win this game while Lazio are wounded by the Juventus loss in the Coppa Italia.

You can be sure that after this season from Bayern Munich there will be some things changing and that they are not happy how this season went.
Bayern Munich always want to win and to be the best in the league , so yeah changes are coming for the next season.
Even they have dominated the league so long it hurts them really if they dont do it 1 season.

Yeah changes are on the way for Bayern Munich. They are starting with sacking Tuchel which is the right call in my opinion. While you have a this strong team in your control nothing below a championship is acceptable.  Sad

As Xabi Alonso has announced that he is going to stay at Leverkusen next season as well I'm curious about who Bayern Munich's next manager will be. Normally they were planning to offer him you know.  Smiley  They need to make their really carefully not to have another sad result. Because it looks like it will be challenging to keep up with Xabi Alonso's team next season too. Maybe Klopp would be thought among the candidates as he is leaving Liverpool?

Things started to go upside down for Marseille once again these days. They lost their last two games. Maybe those games weren't the most comfortable ones but I would still expect to see better performances than that. 0 goal against PSG and Rennes combined... They couldn't score against PSG home while their opponent was playing with 10 players either.  Sad

These results caused the gap with the fourth position to reach seven points. There are Nice and Lens between as well so Marseille are just making things really difficult for themselves by that. While there are seven weeks left I started to think Marseille won't be making it to the Champions League.

The double chance odds is small, around @1.30 - @1.60.

This match draw is may likely to happen, so it's quite risky to bet Real Madrid to win. I would bet for under 2.5 because based on history, when the match held in Real Madrid's home, they didn't score many goals.

Currently Manchester City is the favorite, but we still have six days, odds swing could happen.

The current odds for Real Madrid - Manchester City game are:

Manchester City are favoured even at Santiago Bernabeu by a slight margin indeed. After recent performances by Real Madrid in the tournament I understand bookmakers about not showing Real Madrid as the favourite here. I wouldn't place a bet on a side for this game but in the rematch it would make more sense.  Grin

The odds for double chance are like below. 1.56 is quite nice for Real Madrid or draw. I feel like Real Madrid won't lose home at least but it is hard to predict whether it would be a win or draw. I'm closer to draw though but double chance would be a little safer but still a risky bet of course.

329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: April 03, 2024, 02:30:58 PM
I don't sure with Atletico Madrid has opportunity for replacing Girona on top forth position standings, first half season match Girona success defeating Atletico Madrid and both team will face each other on game weeks 31 or upcoming match. Current standings, Girona still manage behind 6 points left and if can take three points against Atletico will make Girona more comfortable their 3rd standings position awhile in La Liga and seems easily for qualifying to Champion League.
Its not difficult for Girona getting victory against Atletico Madrid or Barcelona because both teams losses on first half season match, I believe Girona understand well for securing three points against Atletico and Barcelona because want to make more safety for participating in Champion League next season for the first time.

I don't think Atletico Madrid's main target is to finish the season at the third position now honestly. Their target must be secure themselves in top four. Because it is really in danger you know.  Sad

While Athletic Bilbao are right behind by only two points every single point is important for both teams. Atletico Madrid are going to have one of the toughest games in the season next time. Girona already beat them home before. Simeone will need to get prepared for them better this time. It is such a tough game to predict on one hand because of the Champions League games they are going to play as well. I assume I will give Atletico Madrid win a chance here.
330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: April 03, 2024, 02:23:58 PM
Tottenham wasted an unbelievable opportunity by getting a draw yesterday.  Sad  By saying opportunity I mean Aston Villa have an away game against Manchester City tonight. I don't expect them to steal any point from Manchester City honestly. If Tottenham won they would equalize the points in this situation but the chance is gone this time.

Tottenham still have a missing game to play though. The top four fight between Tottenham and Aston Villa is really fierce and Tottenham had better make use of that missing game. Both of them are going to play against title contenders in the rest of the season so the top four competition will also be nice to watch.  Smiley

Liverpool join Premier League rivals in £47million transfer battle to sign 'new Gabriel Jesus'
Liverpool are among the clubs interested in signing Palmeiras wonderkid Luis Guilherme.

Code:

Source- https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-transfer-news-luis-guilherme-32490589

this 18 year old kid is creating a lot of noise. I hope people understand that he is being pursued by big names like Liverpool, Arsenal,  Bayern Munich  and Chelsea.  being such interesting to search Big gloves at such a young age is absolutely incredible. Now I Wonder If all the clubs should actually spend so much money trying to get him. because even though the Marketplace for players has become saturated and a big inflation is also going on right now,  I still think this much money is a lot for a young kid.  or maybe I am just a little too old.  maybe I just cannot think about such a price for such a player  when I saw Cristiano Ronaldo going to Real Madrid for 94 million and that was a record transfer at that time.  of course it has been a long time since then. At the same time I guess this player can also be a very big asset for any club. so I guess they can spend this much money for him.

If he is called as the "new Gabriel Jesus" then I don't know how bright his future would be.  Tongue  Joking aside it is really difficult to say something about this player considering there aren't any proper statistics to take into consideration. He is really young of course and if he has a big talent he would surely be signed by a big European team sooner or later.

He is quite a versatile player as far as I can see. He can play on both wings and as an attacking midfielder at the same time. Big teams would love to have such players with talent.  Smiley  The reason why I said that about Gabriel Jesus is his not being able to develop good enough. Especially the recent injuries have been an obstacle.
332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 03, 2024, 08:41:26 AM
Juventus managed to beat Lazio 2-0.

the second half was dominated, they even risked scoring the third goal.
Allegri has saved his place for now but the league standing considering the missing games is still at high risk.

It's inexplicable how they took away the penalty awarded to Juventus in the first half, but we already know VAR is a joke.

The domination was just huge indeed. Lazio didn't even have a shot on goal. I wasn't expecting a this big domination honestly because Juventus were having really tough days you know. Their recent results were really bad and they lost to Lazio away a short time ago as well. However this is a really important win to motivate them.  Smiley

I agree about the penalty topic. The referee called an offside before that incident. Where was that offside? There wasn't in my opinion. Apart from that it was definitely a penalty as there was a kick to the foot. These days referees started to make more mistakes in every league.  Sad
333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 03, 2024, 08:31:38 AM
I don't think there will be any revenge motive for Bayern Munich. They have already been dominating the Bundesliga for so many years and finishing only one season like this wouldn't be enough to break their general domination. But one thing is certain that this might really be the start of something different on one hand.

Juventus domination in the Serie A comes to my mind. After their title streak was broken we started to see quite many different champions. It is more difficult to see that many different champions in the Bundesliga though but at least Leverkusen could continue to be a title contender as long as they have Xabi Alonso.  Smiley
334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: April 03, 2024, 08:24:34 AM
The main problem when we analize Rome is only one , and is how irregular they are playing and how bad they are passing the ball normally, i dont know how to explain this one, but when you read the name of the players of Rome you can think they are a super top team, but they not, and that is the problem.

They had top players like Dybala, Lukaku, Paredes, etc, but that is not direct reflected on the team.

Dybala has suffered injuries quite often and couldn't even play properly this season. When it comes to Lukaku he isn't playing the same as his performance at his national team.  Sad  He scored so many goals in the Euro 2024 qualifiers you know but we can't see the same effort at Roma unfortunately. Normally Roma can be even more productive than now.

If we see the same scenario against Milan here as well then it wouldn't be surprising to see Roma getting eliminated. When it comes to betting I'm thinking of both teams to score as a nice option for the first leg. This could happen even in both legs in my opinion.
335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 01, 2024, 02:04:03 PM
It seems like Frimpong is on the radar of multiple big teams already. I already knew about Bayern Munich's interest but it looks like both Manchester teams are also going after him. Let's say all of them made an offer then I think his choice would be between Manchester City and Bayern Munich. Why would it be the Red Devils, right? They aren't even qualifying for the Champions League as it seems.  Sad

Leverkusen would make a really huge profit if they sell him. But maybe he would also think of staying one more year while he has a great manager like Xabi Alonso. It wouldn't make me surprised as they are going to play in the Champions League as well.  Smiley
336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: April 01, 2024, 01:57:36 PM
Rodrygo returned with a brace and in the match against Bilbao he was also voted MVP of the match.

I have also watched Rodrygo's goals and both of them were really great. Especially the first one is like a classic Rodrygo goal. He is really good at this kind of finesse shots.  Smiley

There is a chance for Rodrygo to receive an offer by Manchester City this summer according to rumours. I don't feel like Ancelotti would like to see him leaving. He must have really good plans for him in his time period with Real Madrid. The offer would surely be huge but Rodrygo has already started to be an important player for the team.

Quote
Don't forget that in the final minutes we also saw Eder Militao's debut this season after being absent for 7 months due to an ACL injury.

Finally Militao is back! This is great news for Real Madrid while they have a matchup against Manchester City in the Champions League. They really need their defense to be as strong as possible before facing them. I don't know whether we would see him in the starting lineup in the first leg though but I would like to see him reaching full match fitness until then.
337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 01, 2024, 01:48:17 PM
Very strange odds indeed. 2.05 to win PSG in Paris looks like easy money. I wonder why PSG is rated so poorly (or Barcelona so well) because on the side of PSG there is dominance in Ligue 1, champion mentality + normal coach + Mbappe, and on Barcelona’s side there is a dubious team with a dubious coach and I don’t see any arguments in their favor other than virtual “brand strength" which will not play on the field.
Do Barcelona fans really generate such a cash flow of bets that bookmakers are forced to give such distorted quotes?

2.05 is really a big chance here to benefit from indeed. I thought it would be around 1.70-1.80 the most. Bookmakers are giving Barcelona some chance in France as well. However PSG's home performances have been very impressive so far. I don't think they would get even a draw before their supporters. I even expect Mbappe to score more than one goal honestly.  Grin

Barcelona have serious defensive weaknesses and PSG are one of the teams that can benefit from them the best. I'm curious about whether we see a big goal gap as well. PSG beat them by 4-1 in one of their last meets as far as I remember.  Smiley
338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: April 01, 2024, 01:41:17 PM
After the really boring game between Manchester City and Arsenal this draw has helped Liverpool a lot. They have become the new leader in the standings.  Smiley

I wasn't waiting for a this poor game though. I should really appreciate Arteta's game plan against Manchester City. He really knows how to block Manchester City attacks. Once again he didn't give much chance to Guardiola's team.  Smiley  Haaland was like a ghost on the pitch. He still found a couple of serious goal chances though and wasted them all. But I'm not blaming this result on only him of course. They were bad as a team.
339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: April 01, 2024, 09:28:29 AM
It was a really interesting game between Marseille and PSG. Even though PSG got that red card they still scored goals after and won by 2-0. I was thinking they would lose points at that point. I don't know how Marseille were this bad despite finding many goal opportunities. Finishing skills were just horrible in this game and it cost them three points.  Sad

I wasn't used to seeing Mbappe being replaced this early as he was out in the 65th minute. Maybe this was due to their tight schedule ahead. Because they are going to play three games in next nine days. He is needed to stay fit in the Champions League first leg game.
340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 01, 2024, 09:21:16 AM
It is four weeks in a row that Juventus are losing points. Like I said before they are just risking even their place in top four but let's see if things will come to that point.

Their next game is against Fiorentina home by the way. Maybe here we see Juventus finally managing to get a win after weeks. Fiorentina are also doing bad these days. Juventus' remaining games in the league are really tough as it seems. There are games against Millan, Roma and Bologna as well. Roma and Bologna are their direct opponents in this top four battle. Both of these games are away ones for Juventus at the same time.  Sad  Final weeks of the season can get really interesting.
