321  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Price Crossed $11,000: Is it Really a Bubble? on: November 29, 2017, 10:08:12 PM
Well, I have missed the dip as bitcoin already recover over $10,000 again, it rises as fast as it falls.
Personally, I don't think bitcoin will get corrected significantly, yes, there will be some minor correction such as before but the market has reacted to buy back immediately. Because bitcoin will continue to rise due to bitcoin futures on December 10th.
Everyone who have sold their coins at the peak and have the chance to buy back in the dip, they are lucky obviously as it happened within few hours.
322  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin vs. Gold Prices on: November 29, 2017, 04:42:04 PM
So, the real question is what the Western elites want (and what China and Russia want, if they're able to counter the West in the field of monetary engineering.)  If Western debt levels and resulting economic/social/political problems are so bad that the elites have decided to use cryptocurrency to effect a reset of the entire system, to effectively wipe out their debt and start afresh, as just after World War II, then the sky is the limit for Bitcoin and cryptos.

If, on the other hand, the Western elites are only preparing for such a reset by taking advantage of cheap crypto prices so far, then we have to watch the relative price to gold.  The rise of Bitcoin, so far, is consistent with this scenario too.  From here on, this assumption may be problematic.

This question becomes my concern a few months ago when bitcoin started to gain a tremendous value within weeks.
Whoever invests Million of dollars into crypto-world at the cheaper price could harm its price after it reaches the peak, especially at this point, due to bitcoin price increase rapidly like $1000 per day. It won't stop soon imo as bitcoin futures still not activated, but when the correction comes, it may hit the market so hard. The only thing that may hold bitcoin price is people who believe in bitcoin as an asset, commodity, currency, or a better monetary system compare to fiat currency. At least, Million of dollars have been spent in this market, people don't want to lose their investment, especially for miners and exchanges.
323  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: BITCOIN IN AFRICA on: November 29, 2017, 12:52:48 PM
Which African countries allow Bitcoin transactions? Is Bitcoin currently used to purchase items in any African country?

Bitcoin thrives in Africa, growing rapidly in some major continent such as in South Africa.
Yes, bitcoin can be used to purchase goods in Africa, as one of the largest Supermarket, pick n pay, cooperate with electrum and Luno.
A major supermarket chain in South Africa, Pick n Pay, has started a trial to accept bitcoin payments in-store at its head office location. A payment technology company named Electrum provides the payments platform, with bitcoin exchange Luno providing the Bitcoin payment infrastructure.

324  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-29]Japan’s BitFlyer Opens Bitcoin Exchange in the United States on: November 29, 2017, 07:09:14 AM
Don't forget to add the link: https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/japans-bitflyer-opens-bitcoin-exchange-united-states/amp/

Quote
Coinciding with its launch today, bitFlyer confirmed its formal approval to operate in New York state after being granted a BitLicense. Established by the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) in 2014, the licensing framework has come under criticism for restrictive regulations in the past and had, so far, only granted three licenses to Circle, Ripple and Coinbase. bitFlyer becomes the fourth company to obtain the license and the first exchange from abroad to do so.

Bitflyer surprisingly could pass the regulations in the US as there are just a few exchanges could survive in there, even Bitfinex has pulled out their service from the retail marketplace in the US. But, people in the US have to report their capital gains if dealing with exchanges, to ensure there is no one that doesn't pay taxes, exchanges have to reveal their customer's id to IRS and every transaction they've made. Then, why Bitflyer dare to be involved in the US market? Because US traders and investors seem to like the biggest players compare to other countries;

bitFlyer primarily target institutional investors who make an “untapped” market. The marketplace and platform are designed for professional traders who routinely trade $100,000 or more in cryptocurrencies each month, according to the exchange.
325  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin just hit 10K. What's Next? on: November 29, 2017, 05:55:21 AM
Most of the speculation is WRONG at this time as bitcoin price keep increasing over $10,900 on coinmarketcap.
Almost $11,000 in just a day after bitcoin break the wall of $10K.
Is it going down? No, it's not. Look at the graphs, look at the "acceptance" of bitcoin, people just get ready to face bitcoin futures on December 10th, launched by CME group. Bitcoin may reach $12,000 in this month or maybe higher.
326  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Blockchain escrow service? on: November 29, 2017, 02:32:26 AM
Hi there,

Can you submit links to blockchain escrow services you know if any?

Can you provide more information about the transaction that you're going to deal? as "blockchain escrow" seems confusing, ambiguous.
Whether it's bitcoin and how much you want to transact?
There are few options in the market, but the best/suitable for you, depending on your transaction.
Potato Chips has listed some good links above that you can check.

If you want to do a big amount of transaction you can use monbux escrow service (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631008.0)
if it will be less than BTC5, I would recommend bL4ncode escrow service (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2062906.0)

328  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I have stolen bitcoin in yobit on: November 28, 2017, 11:40:07 PM
i don't remember, I am very carefuly with this things,  have 2fa.,  mi 2f generation be in mi mobile.  and use Yobit in mir laptop.

As far as I understand, you did not receive an email notification that someone entered your yobit account and you also did not receive an email notification that someone withdraw bitcoins from your yobit account, right?

If so, have you been able to get into your account after this sad event? and if you were able to get into your account after that robbery, did you see the trade historic and the withdrawal historic?

if you did not receive withdrawal notification email or notification email that someone logged into your account, then the theft was internal, ie yobit stole your bitcoins

Well, Op have to explain it properly. I barely can't understand the whole thing.
Like Op said have BTC8.2 and then someone sold your coins to BTC, a little bit confusing.
So, you did not have bitcoin, until someone sold your altcoin to btc? What kind of altcoin?
Then explain about second question; as you have 2fa on your mobile phone, did you receive any notification?

There are too many problems with yobit services since last year, and this case just another evidence that you should never keep coins in such shady trading platform. There is nothing you can do about it, unless you live in Russia, as yobit operated in there.
329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2017 is crazy for bitcoin on: November 28, 2017, 05:02:40 PM
I remember that on 1st January 2017 , the price of bitcoin is about $1000, but now we can see the price is already over $7000. To be honest, that is why some people said this is bubble since the unbelievable rising of bitcoin. However, let us look back upon the history, we can tell that Email subvert the postal industry, Amazon subvert the retail industry. Furthermore, Will bitcoin subvert the traditional banking?

I remember bitcoin less than $1K on January 1st, around $988.
Your post just ensure bitcoin price increase $3000 in this month, incredible.
Many people excited about bitcoin and how it's gaining so much value within a year.
The fact is, bitcoin still in the first phase of its development as it just 8 years since the first time launched in 2009.
I consider 2017 as the new start point for bitcoin, gain more attention from people around the world and hopefully more countries be friendly with bitcoin, such as in Japan and South Korea.

Whether bitcoin can subvert traditional banking? It's a complex system that has been around for hundreds of years and can't be subverted easily by 8 years bitcoin. Give bitcoin another 20 years and we will talk about it, but for now, bitcoin can't.
330  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the Best Time to Buy BTC at 10k on: November 28, 2017, 03:32:12 PM
With BTC sooner or later within these days hitting the 10k mark (now around 9-10k) i cant help but wonder if one can buy BTC and still make a profit or should i just hold on to my ethereum and watch the market due to the fact that it can fall back

you'll never know if btс or other currency will rise or drop. personally, i think that it will be cheaper for a while, but you'd better read other opinions too Smiley

Indeed, we don't know for sure whether bitcoin will continue to rise or get corrected and fall below $9K again.
Consider some development and acceptance for bitcoin in some countries, especially in South Korea and CME plan to launch bitcoin futures which may attract more investors (big whales) to invest in bitcoin as well. In this case, bitcoin may continue to reach $11,000 in December.

Is this the best time to buy bitcoin? a tricky question, as the best time maybe when bitcoin was $0.03 8 years ago.
If you want to convert eth to bitcoin, hopefully, you did, as bitcoin % increases higher than ethereum in the last few days.
331  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which trading platform do you use? on: November 28, 2017, 11:35:24 AM
This is the basic thing, as there are few problems on global trading platforms recently such as Bittrex and poloniex.
I haven't use bittrex since few months ago, and prefer to use local exchange in my country.
But, in case of some new coins, there are some good trading platforms such as livecoins, Hitbtc and etherdelta.
332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: warning - bitcoin futures. Get coins off exchanges ! on: November 28, 2017, 09:39:57 AM
Honestly, it makes sense, but there are few things that affect it.
We can consider bitcoin futures create a way for the whales from wall street to invest and cash out (manipulate).
Although, it happens everyday on every exchange where people buy and sell at their will, but not in a big amount such as whales can do.

But, I don't think bitcoin will crash just because of bitcoin futures. Bitcoin get too big to fail.
At this point, bitcoin may get corrected a bit, but it will regain the value over time (repeatedly cycle).

Whether people should withdraw all their coins out of exchanges or not, it depends on the people's decisions.
Personally, I just treat exchanges as the place to buy and sell bitcoin, not a place to keep it for long term. Most people may think the same way, and we will figure it out after CME officially launch bitcoin futures.
333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the factors that affect the rise and fall of the BTC? on: November 28, 2017, 09:21:12 AM
One answer; "acceptance".
Bitcoin price is driven by the demand across all the global exchanges.
If people and government really accept bitcoin such as in Japan, where you can spend bitcoin easily, everywhere and maybe can live in there without using fiat currency anymore.
But the problem today, bitcoin price rise and fall based on speculation as people treat it as investment rather than medium of exchange or currency. So, if some people say; the price increase if there are good news and vice versa, it maybe right.
334  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10K before December 1st? on: November 28, 2017, 08:35:16 AM
Bitcoin will reach $10,000 before December 1st, maybe today or tomorrow as bitcoin at $9917 on cmc right now.
Fortunately, bitcoin price on global exchanges is slightly different, and here in my country, bitcoin has reached $10,500. impressive, right? Next concern is; whether bitcoin will continue to rise or get corrected soon, as bitcoin price increase significantly in the last 2 weeks.
335  Economy / Economics / Re: impacts off cryptocurrency on: November 27, 2017, 11:59:56 PM
Cryptocurrencies have gained huge value over 8 years, and the most significant impact is how people use it in case of monetary system, not to depend on bank systems or remittance at all. There are many false alarm or fud news from bankers who trying to influence people not to invest in cryptocurrency because it's dangerous or fraud system, blah blah blah.
Crypto change the way people doing their business, consider it as an upgrade to implement blockchain technology or p2p without a third party.

Next step; as bitcoin growing bigger over time, it becomes too big to not notice it, the government have to regulate cryptocurrency or at least regulate exchanges as the main door to convert bitcoin into fiat currency and vice versa.
336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Fork on: November 27, 2017, 11:29:27 PM
There are too many forks or I may say altcoins created which trying to compete with bitcoin as those coins claim the same name of "bitcoin" and add the suffix; cash, gold, diamond or even silver, it's funny imo. Whatever it is, people always like to get free coins that worth something, such as bitcoin cash worth $1644 and bitcoin gold worth $364, more or less, consider it as free money.
But, I don't think those forks make bitcoin price increase rapidly within a week and may reach 4 digits in few days later, the most significant factor on December, maybe regarding CME group plans to launch Bitcoin futures. https://news.bitcoin.com/cme-group-plans-to-launch-bitcoin-futures-december-10/
337  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hardware wallets? on: November 27, 2017, 10:32:01 PM
--snip--
You guys noticed the thread or not. This is been last posted around 4 months back but I don't why you people are digging these kind of dead thread. I am really sure you guys know that these kind of dead threads are good to dig or not.

Well, you can't blame those newbies for being stupid since you've been there too.
I wonder why you posted in this thread too knowing that this thread was not active anymore and instead, reporting those previous post will be much better.
Anyway, this post and those previous posts above me will be removed sooner or later.

Actually, this discussion here is pretty interesting, digging and learning more about the comparison of trezor and ledger nano S, mostly.
I've read about hardware wallet and how this cold storage is the best way to store your bitcoin, without knowing how it works, how to set it up. After reading more about it, we can get some conclusions and seems like ledger nano S as the most convenient way to do this. But, for those who don't have enough money to spare, in order to buy a ledger nano s, they can make it through paper wallet, it's secure and a good way for long term savings.
338  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Food Delivery on: November 27, 2017, 11:41:44 AM
As it stands, IBM said one in ten people become ill each year – and 400,000 people die – because of contaminated food. What’s more, it can take weeks to identify the precise point of contamination, causing further illness, lost revenue and wasted product.

Where did you get this? How could only 10 people became ill and 400,000 people die because of contaminated food?
It should be otherwise; 400,000 people became ill and 10 people die.

as following in mid-end  2018 we will present you the (Crypto Food Delivery) straight from the farm. P2P food chain must be a must , from are own grows field in Dominican Republic we field filling the acres with the demand of our community, you will not be eating for less but also healthy with high demands for food  this project will be a success, you will be buying straight from the farm!

Buying food straight to the farm is a good idea, but it only works if the farms are nearby as people don't have to pay more fee for the delivery. As long as you can make it happen without an ICO, and have been implemented in the Dominican Republic as the proof of this p2p food chain really success in your country.
339  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-27]$300 Billion:Bitcoin Price Boosts Crypto Market Value to Record High on: November 27, 2017, 07:08:53 AM
People always talking about how bitcoin keep gaining more and more value over time, but surely there are so many predictions about bitcoin will reach $10K, $15K, $20K and even $50K, is it impossible? Only time will reveal the truth, but I'm sure bitcoin could reach $50,000 maybe in 3-4 years later if bitcoin price could gaining value just like in this year, over 800%.
$300 billion marketcap means nothing without worldwide acceptance and being used as a medium of exchange, where people can easily spend bitcoin at stores, merchants or paying bills in daily basis.
340  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-27] Bitcoin Euphoria Drives It Up $1,000 in Single Day on: November 27, 2017, 04:01:09 AM
Bitcoin has reached over $9600, surprisingly. 1-2 months ago when bitcoin price around $5000-$6000, many people speculate about bitcoin probably can make it to $10,000 by the end of the year, seems too exaggerated but it's not anymore at this point.
And then, people just happy with this price and started to predict it will get corrected soon before it reaches $10K, but many people thought the same thing when bitcoin reached $6K. Maybe drop back but bitcoin will regain the value and exceed $10K obviously, it's just time matter.
