wtf?

https://www.tagesschau.de/wirtschaft/unternehmen/musk-tesla-bitcoin-101.html

Tagesschau is the official (semi state owned) TV news source in Germany. like BBC in GB. they report about elon musks tweet conversation with micheal saylor. like it is relevant news.  Cool

we are winning. billionaires tweeting about converting billions of USD into BTC is hitting prime time news. wow.

fi-nal-ly!!1!

quote of the year:

Quote
“It’s an attack on the entire crypto industry and American innovation,” Brad Garlinghouse said in an emailed statement.

muahhahaa muahah MUAHAHAAHAAAHAA MUAHAHA HAHA ROFL  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

yeah, "we're all in the same boat". NEVER! fucking scammers!

edit:

it gets even better:

Quote
This is an attack on the entire crypto industry and American innovation. By giving the stamp of approval only to Bitcoin and Ether (whose networks are at the mercy of the Chinese Communist Party), the SEC has picked the winners - disregarding an entire industry outside of these two tokens.

Elon Musk tweet discussion  Grin

How such a progressive, futuristic person such as Elon Musk could *not yet* be onboard with Bitcoin treasuries full tilt is completely beyond me.

I could say the same for such companies as Microsoft, Apple, Google, Amazon, etc.

Methinks that powerful people have kept them dissuaded for years now.

the epicness of that twitter conversation is hard to grasp. them billionaires are coming.
326  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Wette 600Watt/elrippo BTC ATH 2017 €4000 on: December 20, 2020, 06:05:19 PM
Da gibts ja schon etliche Möglichkeiten. z.B. https://bjoern-schulz-stiftung.de/

fände ich auch einen guten kandidaten.
327  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Wette 600Watt/elrippo BTC ATH 2017 €4000 on: December 20, 2020, 06:00:26 PM

328  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Wette 600Watt/elrippo BTC ATH 2017 €4000 on: December 20, 2020, 02:07:57 PM

seriously. i sometimes look at pics like this and think about what i would have thought when seeing this last year or before. there is a mutuation raging in europe (southern england for sure) that is probably 70% more contagious. good that it isnt 70% more deadly. that is just by accident. we are so lucky.

man, i cant wait until this nightmare is over. since europe in general and germany especially have fucked this up so greatly i guess it will stay with us for a while. they havent even ordered enough vaccines.

At the end of 2017 pump and we had $1k to $2k daily green candles, while in the last few days we had $1k to $1.5k (roughly) green daily candles.

By the end of 2021 we should have $10k-$20k daily green candles.

this.

 Cool

Can anyone tell me if this coming january bitcoin will reach 30k? hmmn  Grin

this is a weird place for a first post, but welcome anyway.  Smiley

30k is inevitable, it is even possible within 2020. chances of price hitting 30k in the next three months is over 90% imho.

I took this quote from another thread, but I though that it was an interesting point for you, 600W to have such high confidence levels regarding UPpity.

I am probably too conservative, and as you may recall, I tend to stay around 50/50 in my various short term assertions, but at the same time, I will concede that I am becoming a wee bit inclined towards something approaching 60% for $30k in 3 months - which you had assigned a 90% value... and that is quite bullish for me.

Personally, I have a hard time justifying higher than 60%.. so maybe I can kind of relate to something like 70%, but 90%... Whoaza!!!!!!!!  Hopefully, no one is leveraging or engaging in too risky of behaviors based on having such high confidence levels that could end up causing a world of hurt in terms of actually acting upon such high confidence levels that are really difficult to real world justify (even if such scenario may well end up playing out and even if such scenario is the most probable of all scenarios, thus the assignment of something like 60% to such a scenario. which is still maybe too high, when you really consider all of the possible scenarios that could play out in 3 months - a long time in bitcoinlandia).

By the way, As I type, the BTC price is toying around with the reaching of ATHs, again while observing $23,680 within about the past 15 minutes of this post.   I am thinking that the failure/refusal to correct significantly in the past 2 days after reaching $23,777,  which has meant a bouncing around (some say coiling) in this upper end of the range, seems to cause reasonable expectations that this run may well have legs to bring us into a kind of $26k-ish region... which would surely be out of noman's zone.. but still within a kind "greater than expected" kind of overshooting - but yeah, overshooting to $30k or even $40k could be in the cards too, which might ONLY be a smaller level chance before getting some kind of correction that might help to allow buying support to catch up and keep up.  I am starting to ramble.. so I am going to stop.... for now...  Wink

leverage? nah....  all-in @ hodl is the name of the game. bitcoin is too volatile for leverage. tarding is for professionals. i never tarde.  yeah, 90% is a lot of confidence. maybe 80% is more realistic.  Cheesy

FinCEN Proposes KYC For Withdrawing Cryptocurrency To Private Wallets 12/18/2020

I 'believe' this only applies to USA BTC/Crypto Exchanges like Coinbase?

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/fincen-proposes-kyc-for-withdrawing-cryptocurrency-to-private-wallets

This shoe just dropped. To me it does not look like that big a deal....and was expected...but I know zip, others on here?

Smarter than myself? I also started a thread for more details. (Hey, it's over my head, need smarter analysis!)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5301400.0

Brad

it does not apply to private hodlers sending bitcoin to each other. only when it touches a companies wallet. which means that every US btc owner will transfer his/her coins to self custody in the next 14 days. less coins available on exchanges = bullish for bitcoin.

Hmm Bitstamp is saying it has "finished" my transaction (send from Bitstamp to my address) but the transaction is not appearing on the blockchain.  This is after I validated the transaction with Bitstamp by email so it is not waiting on confirmation from me.  It is not even showing as unconfirmed.

Any suggestions as to what might be happening?    Does Bitstamp take awhile after they say a transaction is "finished"?  It has been about an hour and there have been 5 - 6 blocks since.

i had something similar happen with bitstamp in 2015. after 3 weeks i just re sent the btc and on the very same day the "lost" transaction went finally through and i had payed it twice. i remember it since the guy that i had sent those btc took 5 years (!) to send those overpaid btc back. oh and he only sent back 3/5 claiming he had bought the 2/5 from me some years ago. not true. 25 year friendship ended there. i would never fight about fiat money. but when it comes to the corn i get itchy.

"If there was ever a Fear of Missing Out moment it was Wednesday afternoon when Bitcoin hit $20,000 and then just kept on going...."

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-12-17/bitcoin-price-what-investors-need-know-before-buying-the-cryptocurrency

In the video they are talking about consolidating 2021-2022 in the 500K-1mil range. Shocked This is institutional FOMO, gentlemen! We can't even count the companies who have already invested some spare cash (you know pocket money 100 mil to 1bil and more) as a hedge against inflation. This is just the beginning of a new era of mass adoption. Nobody is talking about 100K anymore  Grin. Overtaking gold, is also a modest prediction nowadays.

it is a phenomenon i have encountered several times through late 2020: mainstream press reporting about legacy finance suits being way more bullish than the regular WO bull.  how come they beat the WO in its very own discipline?  wrap your head around that.

first they laugh about you
then they become more bullish than you
then they buy your corn
do NOT let them win THAT easy

what you consider expensive and high price for them its just change. dirty fiat. they soon all want your corn.

keep your corn. let the zeros they add on their balance sheets, on their money printing, and on their offerings not fool you. nobody can add zeros to bitcoin. you own the sacred multiplier of it all. you own the keys to paradise. literally. fiat is rat poison. they want your corn.

Currently noticing that bearish divergence on the Weekly chart (from 2013 and 2017 tops) is currently being broken.

This was the sort of divergence I expected to never be broken with decreasing volatility, but here we are  Shocked

bitcoin can diverge longer than tarders can stay solvent.
