321  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Could protection funds restore investors confidence back to CEX? on: February 08, 2024, 06:05:41 PM
By "user protection fund", do you mean safu funds and/or proof of reserves?

Because if you ask me, these concepts did not change my perception of CEXs simply because there is no proof of liabilities hence we don't know if these would cover everyone in case the worst case happen. Yes, it's better than nothing but it's not something I'd rely on. The same old precautionary measures on cexs still apply.

But I'm sure exchanges could let some time pass by while doing aggressive marketing for this and tons of people will start to be comfortable again e.g. treating exchanges as their personal wallet.

PS: i would move this to exchanges board.

KYC is mandatory to use Binance,  so theoretically there is no real need for a double verification as all activities will belong to a single entity which is theowner of the Binance account. And there is no real fear about money stolen that could be laundered though the casino as depositing to the casino requires the same verification steps/level on Binance than a regular crypto withdrawal!!

Both are completely different platform owned by different people and therefore does not share the same database.

How will casinos determine which withdrawal from binance belongs to which account when they don't share the same database? They would need to see the actual KYC information too to make a risk profile and as their way to verify some stuff like: make sure they're not from a prohibited country, different person from account A to B among other things.

Let's also not forget that binance is a liquidity provider for some no-mandatory kyc instant exchanges like fixedfloat. I used them before and some of the coins they sent me came from a binance hot wallet.
323  Economy / Gambling / Re: Joya.Casino| Rewarding Casino| Huge Welcome and VIP Bonus| 20% Weekly CashBack on: February 07, 2024, 11:39:36 PM
Was there a partnership issue with all the removed game providers?

Ohhh that could be possible but if there really is, it has to be something big, no? since almost all providers are gone... or perhaps, they're cost cutting and tryin to test the waters with one provider. From what I heard, aside from sharing % in revenue, casinos also typically do monthly payments to gaming providers (cmiiw).

Yes, still crypto transactions are through Binance it actually can be skipped..

Do you mean kyc can be skipped if transactions were coming from binance? if so, that wouldn't be possible since binance is a completely different platform.
324  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM: Anonymous-casino.com (a-c.bet) refuses to pay $17,000 on: February 07, 2024, 10:20:20 PM
Mempool.space mentions CPFP in its records for one of your past transactions, which is perhaps what the casino meant when they mentioned doublespending to you. Ask the support which transaction was doublespent to see how they will respond.

But I'm not sure how a CPFP could be taken as suspicion of attempting to double spend.

Because you're not replacing a transaction/spending the same input/s. Instead, someone who owns an unconfirmed output from the parent transaction spends it in another transaction with a bigger miner fee covering both of them -- child and the parent.
325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you beleive in the concept of "Luck"? on: February 07, 2024, 09:30:59 PM
1. Ofc. I think it's fun and makes the whole thing more special if you happen to hit a spot.
2. I think it depends on the day but I do consider more days to be unlucky lol
3. Nope.
4. Absolutely! but let me redeem myself by saying it's not the delusional kind of believing lol. I just do it for fun like I'm aware it's bs. I think it's similar to a placebo where it's more about how you feel rather than the effectiveness of the actual thing.
326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever introduced an elder gambler to online betting? on: February 07, 2024, 07:36:39 PM
Chances are close to none, unfortunately. The elders I know struggles when it comes to technology and some are even prone to scams that we don't let them do online banking -- they stick with the good old passbook only.

This is why the older generation in my fam stick with the brick and mortars because it's simple and less complicated for them. Only the millenials and gen z's in my fam have dived into online gambling -- from what I know.
327  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: AI-generated fake IDs claimed to pass crypto exchange KYC are selling for $15 on: February 07, 2024, 03:28:38 AM
I have a question, Is there any AI image detective tool introduced so far just like text ,as we know already introduced and we can easily detect by using copyleaks and hive moderation for this purpose. If it's introduce then I think it will be easy for CEX to verify otherwise it is big challenge for CEX.

A lot I've seen can be spotted by a human eye provided you pay enough attention. For instance, the awkward movements particularly with the way they speak, looking like a hyper-realistic game character, etc.

The problem is, it can be enough to fool some idenity verification solutions which every fintech service in compliance with kyc/aml policies use by default. Manual verification where a person comes in is provided on special cases.

With how rapid AI tech is developing, it's expected that deepfake contents are gonna be looking more believable over time + much easier to reproduce.
328  Economy / Gambling / Re: Joya.Casino| Rewarding Casino| Huge Welcome and VIP Bonus| 20% Weekly CashBack on: February 06, 2024, 11:59:59 PM
When soon please? We are waiting more then 20 days.  Iam never ever see website casino deleted all games for just some games because one provider you just in the way for destroying your casino. as me iam out

True. Bit of an odd decision to disable all game providers that likely have some regulars as well in order to highlight a newly added one.

I mean, there could be other ways to promote RTG without disabling any games from other providers like adding a featured section on the dashboard + starting a promo for it.
329  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: AI-generated fake IDs claimed to pass crypto exchange KYC are selling for $15 on: February 06, 2024, 10:15:27 PM
There is only one way, your A.I shaped face on the I.D must come to live, and hold the I.D in it's hand and pass live Video KYC verification that is available on Binance Exchange, there is no taking picture behind the scene and uploading it on the exchange, you need to do it, live.

AI generated videos can be used through camera injection attack and can be real time:

Fraudsters introduce deepfake videos into the system using a camera injection attack. Camera injection occurs when a fraudster bypasses the charged-coupled device (CCD) of a camera to inject pre-recorded content, a real-time face swap video stream or completely fabricated (deepfake) content. This pre-recorded content could be an unaltered video of a real person that a bad actor is attempting to defraud. The pre-recorded or real-time generated video could be a clip where the face is altered in some way, or of a completely synthetic face that does not exist.

The bypass of a live feed that a real camera’s CCD would normally capture is accomplished through a couple of methods. One is by hacking the device driver of a real camera and injecting the video stream into a lower level of the device driver. The more common means of camera injection is to have a virtual camera device driver that simply feeds a pre-recorded or real-time generated video stream to the system, presenting it as a real camera feed.

So they better hurry up and make new softwares to detect this fake documents immediately.

I did hear some providers like jumio has started incorporating AI tech to improve detections so it's gonna be a race between them. But I'm leaning towards deepfakes being more ahead as I think detection requires more meticulousness.

At present time, some softwares as well were successfully fooled by obviously deepfake personas from a human eye, see: https://www.theverge.com/2022/5/18/23092964/deepfake-attack-facial-recognition-liveness-test-banks-sensity-report
330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need more influencial women in crypto to help the gender embrace it? on: February 06, 2024, 04:31:07 PM
Do you think there are more influencial women in crypto, this will help to encourage more women into adopting cryptocurrency? Perhaps there are some which are doing really great but we haven't got to hear their names.

There are other factors at play when it comes to people's interest but I imagine that could help as well. My guess is, it's gonna be like the general tech industry. It's male dominated but we've slowly seen an increase of women as the industry expanded so I'm expecting an increase on crypto space too as it gets more popular.

I have a female friend who is active in several airdrop groups, and people there call her "sir", "bro", "man" even though she is clearly wearing a profile photo of her own face.

Lol I have a theory about this.

So I used to refer people I've met on crypto online communities as he/him by default aka assumed they were dudes lol. It's possible a lot of folks have the same way of thinking.

332  Other / Meta / Re: My account was changed email on: February 06, 2024, 02:57:29 PM
This is something we recently started doing. If email sent to your email address bounces with an error message like, "This email address doesn't exist", then your email may eventually be changed to u...@bounces.invalid. (It's not possible for users to change their email address to something ending in .invalid, so this can only be an administrative change.) Because your old email didn't exist, somebody could've registered your non-existent email address and used that to steal your account.

I didn't particularly intend for the trust warning to appear for these automatic changes, but it's a niche situation and a bit difficult to fix, so I probably won't fix this unless several other people complain. It only lasts 30 days, after all.

It's a nice touch actually! particularly for inactive account policy some email providers have. I could see some members creating an email account solely for bitcointalk then forgetting to log back for a year or two so their account gets removed due to being inactive.

I wonder if op was using gmail? because google has recently started deleting inactive accounts:

When your Google Account has not been used within a 2-year period, your Google Account, that is then deemed inactive, and all of its content and data may be deleted.

... December 1, 2023 is the earliest a Google Account will be deleted due to this policy.
333  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoonClub.com on: February 05, 2024, 11:57:39 PM
I checked your terms and conditions of service and I was as amazed by what I saw;

While I'm not necessarily saying it's OK, these are pretty standard clauses from general services/websites particularly the continued use = agreeing to terms. If I have to guess, it's probably to protect themselves in case things go south.

Quote from: CryptSafe
Does it mean that if you change your policy while in the course  trying to improve in your services you would not send notice or a reminder to know what aspects of your terms and conditions you effected changes. It is very disappointing to be seeing such on your website as a new casino but however,  you will still have time to improve on your services to God.

Probably also depends on how big the changes are. These are standard clauses most services I've seen have and reputable ones have communited the important changes.
334  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best cryto exchange? on: February 05, 2024, 09:45:46 PM
I do regular instant swaps so exch is my current best.

If you're trying to look for your next exchange, you may wanna drop your use cases + how comfortable are you with kyc or anything you think is relevant. This is because "best" could be personal. Exchanges are not necessarily one size fits all, they have their pros and cons hence in a lot of cases, you need to weigh down some stuff e.g. pick your non-negotiable pros and cons you find bearable for you. But the general advice is to stick with reputable platforms.
335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's stupidity to have thousands in Bitcoin using a software wallet on: February 05, 2024, 09:04:46 PM
Tbf, you can setup a software wallet in an airgapped environment for hardened security e.g. electrum

But you can't do it with a custodial wallet like Freewallet. I honestly think there should be a more fitted term for wallets like freewallet considering how they work so much like exchanges when it comes to the storing bit-- it's fully custodial, has account login system of email and password, has their own kyc/aml policies which btw has been known to be scummy, look at all these scam accusations lol, see: Freewallet.org SCAM accusations - a compilation
336  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betting without losing your money/no need for deposit on: February 04, 2024, 11:42:01 PM
Sorry but I closed the website after 3 seconds... it's not very pleasing on the eyes, what's with the colors and the menu bar? I suggest redesigning the whole website. If you have zero idea, you could take a look at free templates -- google it.

Also, there is too much ads, like it filled 50% of my screen including the pop ups? stuff like this could annoy most users and you'll have a hard time attracting regulars.
337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to present the previous history of Bitcoin to the general public through. on: February 04, 2024, 09:27:49 PM
Teenagers like 15 or so? they're too young IMO. At this age, I'd rather them focus on enjoying their teenage years.

Earliest to target would be young adults because compared to teenagers, they have more control over their lives for instance, some may have started their first full time job, much less monitoring/controlling from parents, being 18+, etc. It's also the age where people typically get interested on how to handle their money aka developing financial skills.

But if you wanna appeal to common folks especially to young adults who has just started adulting, best to correlate bitcoin to something they're more familiar with. For instance, perhaps a financial literacy platform sprinkled with bitcoin on the side could do.
338  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Seeking recommendations for decentralized exchanges (DEXs) on: February 04, 2024, 08:03:42 PM
Would anyone happen to have a compiled list comparing the fees and other pros and cons of these instant swap sites? I haven't been able to find one myself.

When it comes to privacy and security, kycnot.me provides a good overview -- I know it list all kinds of exchanges but most of them are instant exchanges.

Thread may be a bit outdated but still worth the look, see: Instant exchanges

But IMO, best one right now is exch, see ANN: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577207.0 -- great for privacy, can spare you the horrors of kyc/aml policies, 0.5% dynamic rate

340  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Top 6 Crypto Ebooks You Need to Read in 2024 on: February 03, 2024, 10:15:20 PM
Still, in this age where the internet is this open, do you think that it is fair for anyone to be selling cryptocurrency books? That is my own plight though but otherwise may have their won.

I believe that if it is about any information regarding Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, it is only a lazy searcher who won't find what he is looking for free, aside from the subscription money which is "nothing to write home about."

Unless we're talking about piracy as well, that's quite a big claim right there considering that cryptocurrencies are such broad topics specially if you dive into technical bits. Further, different people can have different point-of-view on certain topics and/or better explaination which makes the whole thing even broader.

Making a book is hard work, not to mention, published ones typically undergo couple of editings and quality checks. It's totally fair if people sell them books.
