Marketing focuses too much on irrelevant things, like the swarm to vote for nxt on alternative software site. Marketing has failed for now.

Couldnīt agree more. Iīm glad Iīm not alone with those thoughts.

What a fuck man? Now anybody can come up, make a coin and claim how they will change and save the world. Actually all they want is to make a quick buck. Just don't forget, for every dollar that you make, some innocent sucker/newbie out there has to lose it, which also means losing interest into the cryptos altogether.

This is getting ridiculous and this is why probably this bitcoin experiment will go down the drain in the future, with all of its clones. Now I understand what BCNext was saying, bitcoin is not here anymore to change the world, bitcoin has become a quick rich scheme for few and lose your money for many.

You want proof?
Look at the Zeta coin, this shit coin was dead in December, I even invested some money into it and got out of it with a loss and look at it now. Price wise same as NXT and it was a dead horse during 4 months and it started rising based on NO news!! Classic pump & dump.

There are few real world changers out there including NXT out of 200 coins listed on coinmarketcap. Sadly this shit happening will make life much, much harder even for these few real coins and it might pull us few down the drain with all this shit as well.

Look at it again Smiley

I know it is just a joke, however everything above still stands. Just look at the coinmarketcap. 221 freaking coin  Smiley I wanted to comment on Zeta anyways these days, so this hatred coin was just a trigger for me doing it.  Smiley

Time will do his job. I mean, look at the IPO-s. After the release of Nxt, when the price went up, making the "whales" millionaires, a lot of IPOs were popping up, as everybody wanted to start the next Nxt train and a lot of people wanted to jump in on time (like me). We got scammed several times. So the IPOs just disappeared, as noone is investing a single satoshi in an idea anymore, and it´s even hard to get investments if you have a working prototype as people got burned and are now suspicious.

The same with alts. I think we already left the peak behind us a few weeks (months) ago. New coins will come and go, but they won´t get any attention as a lot of people got burned by these pump&dump games. The problem is, that there might be some promising new projects (coins) which will get ignored by the community, just because the bad reputation of the alt coins. But there is nothing we can do, actually. Time and the "free market" will work this out, I think.

Why do I see "Pending order to sell" for more than 20 hours now?
And how was I able to send another sell order for the same amount? (there is no more XCP on the account)

?

Ok, again, maybe someone answers this...

WHY?

Because it hasn't been matched?

But I can´t see it in the order book, it is under pending actions and not open orders and I am able to send it over and over again.

It seems that this is due to insufficient fees. We raised the MIN_FEE at 0.0002 until I remove the priming which are increasing transactions size:

https://github.com/xnova/counterwallet/issues/44

Thank you! What does this mean in regards of my balance? Will the transactions just disappear from the interface after a while? Are the funds still available in my account? How can I set the fee for a transaction? When will the gui be updated so I can start trading?

Thank you very much for your help, the work you all are doing is really amazing!

I have Python32 installed, but get the following error:

D:\chancecoin-master>gui.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "D:\chancecoin-master\gui.py", line 3, in <module>
    from PyQt4.QtCore import *
ImportError: No module named PyQt4.QtCore

What else do I need to install in order to get this running? Why canīt you just upload a version for the n00bs, where there is an exe to start?

the coin seems to be stuck at block 660, how high is the difficulty ? (1 hash per 5 minutes, is not that great though... one fast reader is enough to put the difficulty to the roof... that's clearly a flaw with this new coin...)

Iīm at block 666.

The IPO in this form is not a good investment, maybe thatīs the reason.

Hello,

Can you please explain us why it is not a good form to you ?

Any suggestion will be much appreciated

Thanks you,

Donn

Because only less than 1% of all coins will be distributed in the IPO.

Why do I need to prime an account and how does it work? I have some BTC in one of my addresses, but it seems itīs not enough. How much do I need? Do I need to prime an account to use the exchange?

When you sweep, the address From Which you are sweeping must have a 'confirmed' balance of at least 0.0005 but I would do 0.001 just to be sure.

I had more on that account, but the account I am having the XCPs on now is not prime-d. What is this prime thing? How can I prime an account?

TL;DR Priming is the process where you send to yourself, small amounts of Bitcoin. This helps to make faster XCP transactions (without waiting for change).

For every XCP transaction, you need to pay Bitcoin miner fees. This is typically 0.0005 BTC. For example if you have 1.0005 BTC in your account. 1 BTC will be sent back to you, while 0.0005 will be paid as miner fees. However, you might need to wait for the 1 BTC to return back to your account (1 confirmation). To avoid this priming is used, where you send small amounts of BTC to yourself (0.0005 etc...), this will ensure that you have small change ready for miner fees and do not need to wait for change to return back to you.

Thank you!

Any news, Donn?

Hello,

The IPO is still ongoing, for now there is not many interest about the IPO -- or maybe investors are waiting the end to have a better vision of what will happen in terms of total volume.

However, we received few investors propositions outside the IPO, but we have not acted about this now.

We'll communicate more later in case the IPO is not successful.

Please ask us any questions if you want,

Donn.

The IPO in this form is not a good investment, maybe thatīs the reason.

why too silent...? When will the bugs be fixed...?

Look forward to the month of May
I have been little busy...
They fix final bugs step by step. I just wish they do that little more faster.

Are you charging them for being late?

Is sweeping supposed to work already?

Yes, it should, but please try sweeping from an address with a small (i.e. dust) balance first.

Or, wait for a few successful user reports (we have one person trying it out now)

I did try it with an address holding 100 XCP.
It didn´t work.
Nothing is happening, actually, if I click in "sweep". Is it my browser? (chrome)

edit_: the same with IE

edit_2: congratulations, the client looks great. Hopefully the sweeping will work, too.

I just tried a sweep with Chrome and it worked.

Try going to https://counterwallet.co/src and doing a sweep from that (this is simply the same counterwallet site, but does not use the minified .js and .css resources), and posting your results in https://forums.counterparty.co/index.php?topic=188  (a screenshot and any error text from the javascript console is most helpful)

Not working for me. I click the button, but absolutely nothing happens.

Di I need to have funds on the account I am sweeping FROM?

Check my video tutorial, but you have to have ~0.0005 (for each sweepable asset (non-bitcoin)) that you are sweeping, and make sure that you've selected the asset(s) that you are sweeping from the private key...

It was a user error as the key, I copied from blockchain was not in bitcoin-qt format.
Very nice and informative video, thank you very much!
