Oh good. For a second I thought your account was hacked.

Sorry for the scare. You know I love drama.

I read mine while lounging in the shower today, and I had no problems with ink smear, even in high humidity.

LOL. That's a boss quote.
3482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / BITCOIN MAGAZINE IS A SCAM? on: May 30, 2012, 05:09:44 AM
hehe. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Consider this an unofficial comment thread about the magazine for people who have already received their magazine. You may post action shots here or list their criticisms. All criticisms will be received and noted, although not all will be acted on (I don't care what your opinion is on the Guy Fawkes mask or the fact that it's printed and not digital download only).

I'm glad everyone is getting their issue finally. Some potential issues we're working out now:

  • Shipping time and costs are more than we expected and we're looking into cheaper and quicker solutions that will be reflected from the next issue
  • Production time is sustainable, but due to my scheduled trip to Iceland, (I was unable to go to Iceland because Icehill is no longer working towards registration there and I am no longer working with Jered and JRO on Icehill) a need to increase quality and potentially switch to a different printer, I am learning towards accepting Vladimir's advice and making the next issue release 2 months out to give us a better buffer. Will discuss in more depth and see what's possible before making any formal announcement.
  • Quality of the magazine itself is probably just as good on paper as I envisioned it although I'm still waiting on my 300 or so issues to Korea to check with my own eyes. I'm hearing reports of ink smearing etc though and that doesn't sit well with me. Although we're always looking into other printing solutions, I am confident we can solve this problem with the same printers. We'll see.

Everyone who knows me knows that I work in a highly unorthodox and sporadic fashion. For about a year I've been trying to do useful things for Bitcoin and been met with constant ignorance from forum members, constant (unfounded) claims of "scam", and basically people without imaginations trying to put me down. I've never let it get in my way though and although I have about 6 or so projects waiting to be released in 2012 that I believe will change the course of Bitcoin for the better, I just wanted to make this note to the detractors, trolls and unimaginative: keep trying!
3483  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITCOIN MAGAZINE ARRIVED! on: May 30, 2012, 04:32:58 AM
The print quality is not so great though...
I'm still waiting on my issues in South Korea (about 300 of them) to judge this on my own. If I confirm, we'll probably be forcing the printers to do a reprint and reship for us at their expense, less we move to another printer. We've actually switched printers a few times in the early stages of developing this magazine due to quality concerns but you never know the actually quality until it is printed en masse. If anyone else is having this problem with their individual issues, please let us know (info@bitcoinmagazine.co.uk).

And overall, it really is a fantastic job to Matthew and co. on putting out a very professional-looking Magazine from scratch on a small budget!
Thanks for the vote of confidence. Nothing helps realizing your goals like actually attacking them, and this has been a great learning experience for everyone involved. Although I can say we won't be making the same mistakes again, I am confident we'll be making all new mistakes in the future. Keep the constructive criticisms coming!

How much does a 12 month subscription cost?

There's a discount for a yearly subscription. See http://subscribe.bitcoinmagazine.net for the latest pricing.

I got ONE of mine today...I ordered two...

That could have been a shipping error. Please email info@bitcoinmagazine.co.uk as we don't handle private customer concerns publicly on random forums. Thanks.

Still haven't seen mine.  Cry

If it's any consolation, I haven't received mine either and I'm waiting on several hundred copies too! Wink

Seems like there's only one thing to do, and that's for you to start a scam thread. Several hundred copies is a mighty large investment. What were you planning on doing with them if they do arrive?

~Cackling Bear~

Hehe. When they arrive, I'll be doing 3 things with them:

  • Immediately reshipping many of them to our Asian subscribers
  • Using them for shows, investments and proof of concept in Korea for the work I do in Bitcoin
  • What I do with the rest is a secret that won't be revealed for some time.

That's all you can answer on my questions by email, by emails, phone calls from lawyer?
So tickets opened over a month ago, number #1500151

If you're going to communicate -publicly- with an exchange and air out your dirty laundry, give some details. Post your personal information, what happened, and back it up with evidence so that people can help you. Otherwise, be prepared to be told to shut up by everyone.
3487  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First impressions-Kronos.io on: May 29, 2012, 01:20:09 PM
I sincerely hope this is either a joke, a trol or a misunderstanding but as I've been away on business for almost a week I haven't been keeping track of Kronos as much as I woukd have liked to.

I hate to say this but OP was never authorized to have an invite code and it seems someone thought it was in their best interest to pass them out like candy without giving any disclaimer as to the pre-beta nature of the accounts that would be signed up.

I assure you that your funds are not lost and I think one of the backend developers misunderstood the situation. I'll try to track down the specific issue. Until then, OP please stop using the account as the entire system is pre-beta and it is obvious you do not understand that having started this thread in the first place.

To everyone else, do your job right and stop leaking invited codes to people who don't know what 'pre-beta' and 'testing' mean Sad

EDIT: As it turns out, my suspicions were correct. One of the developers misunderstood the pre-beta situation and one of our invited testers was trying to test the security of the very insecure test server instead of just practicing to use the trading tools. Ignore the "warning" as I'm sure it was meant tongue-in-cheek. We'll reset the test server and correct the issue. If ever (now or in the future) you experience any difficulties using the trading platform or during testing you happen to have funds suddenly vanish during a reset, just email support@kronos.io and we'llget things resolved for you. Cheers!

Don't forget BitcoinMagazine.net, site and print magazine. Wink

Good point! Wink  Where can I see your advertising rates Mr. Wright.

Drop a line to ads@bitcoinmagazine.co.uk and whomever is available (probably Adam Harding) will get to you with the rates, deadlines, requirements, etc.

I send a e-mail to support@kronos.io and although I have not been answered, I have recovered the 96.032% of my funds.  Grin Grin

Technical support very fast

Sorry about that. We are in the BETA stage at the moment and the engine will restart sometimes during this beta testing process.

Your funds were recovered because we noticed your wrongly closed positions and restored them for you.

Look forward to more beta testing and thank you for taking it for a spin!

Thanks.
Sorry for first post in hot  Roll Eyes

I sent another email, because now I have trouble withdrawing funds.Although I have no intention to withdraw, I would like to continue testing your platform, if I do't say, does not fix  Grin

No worries! The site is not yet complete and that's why we're closing all positions at a 0 loss. Have fun with it and thank you again for your contribution to the testing phase!

By the way, I'm offering a reward for reader "action shots" with your magazine. It won't be much but it will be featured in future magazines.

Email them to info@bitcoinmagazine.net and don't post them on the forum if you want to participate.
3492  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITCOIN MAGAZINE ARRIVED! on: May 25, 2012, 12:09:50 AM
Not to be picky, but where i live(and probably where I don't live also) at May 25 you should be getting the June issue, and that would already have at least a 5 days delay lol May issue, at the end of May, really?

Putting aside the above statement, good job, Matthew and crew Wink

I know. It's really fucking stupid. There is no easy way to fix this, but the way I see it, it's not 100% important until -after- it starts being distributed to stores. We'll keep thinking on this one because this is definitely not how we wanted it to happen, but you guys know me, nothing stops me, even if I didn't get dressed in the morning I'll keep running out the door. Better on time and naked!
3493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pre-order Bitcoin Magazine - Quality control, final revisions on proofs on: May 24, 2012, 11:38:41 PM
UPDATE: The first issue of the magazine is starting to trickle in to all of our subscribers! Such a glorious day!  I hope all the negative detractors can swallow their pride and be constructive enough to help us move on and make each month's issue better and better by providing us with valuable feedback.

Thanks for the support everyone!

Just wanted to drop by and thank everyone for their support throughout this ridiculously trying ordeal for us. It hasn't been easy putting the magazine together, finding the right staff that will stick and work together flawlessly, and all of us have other businesses as well! Seeing the 'customer action shots' though makes me so proud I could cry.

This is why I announced the magazine 4 months ago. I was premature on the timeline and a bit unprepared, but this is why-- I wanted to make all of you guys happy, to bring Bitcoin into a different light, and to start representing us in the mainstream media in a way that doesn't start with "Bitcoin has been hacked again!".

I'm busy. Peace.

Tonight I lingered a bit longer than I needed to when I overheard a drunk girl being escorted by a dude say "Are you someone I can trust?".

I wonder if it is a good deed even though there were no violent sex crimes committed.

I had an argument online.

Dipshit. He's asking for royalty-free. Did you think all images on google are royalty free or something?

@OP: There are threads on this forum up the ass with tons of royalty free imagery. Learn how to use the search utility.

lol calm down super star!  I was just teasing the guy.  Thought it was pretty well known that lmgtfy is a joke.

And please, lets throw gloves on in a cage before you call me a dipshit Smiley  Be nice man.  You never know who is on the other side of that monitor.

Are you a beekeeper? Why would I need to go inside the cage with my gloves, I can get honey from outside it. And what does this have to do with being nice?
