Is sweeping supposed to work already?

Yes, it should, but please try sweeping from an address with a small (i.e. dust) balance first.

Or, wait for a few successful user reports (we have one person trying it out now)

I did try it with an address holding 100 XCP.
It didn´t work.
Nothing is happening, actually, if I click in "sweep". Is it my browser? (chrome)

edit_: the same with IE

edit_2: congratulations, the client looks great. Hopefully the sweeping will work, too.

I just tried a sweep with Chrome and it worked.

Try going to https://counterwallet.co/src and doing a sweep from that (this is simply the same counterwallet site, but does not use the minified .js and .css resources), and posting your results in https://forums.counterparty.co/index.php?topic=188  (a screenshot and any error text from the javascript console is most helpful)

Not working for me. I click the button, but absolutely nothing happens.

Di I need to have funds on the account I am sweeping FROM?

And the client looks great. Although sweeping is not working for me, yet.

I wouldn't dare risk anything at this point, let the brave report back first

Yes the client is sweet, Hopefully our devs can incorporate some of their design features, from a client usability stand point

Iīm brave Tongue
how brave? with a couple of thousands or hundreds?

Guys our younger brother is alive and first:  https://counterwallet.co

Please BE CAREFUL with your funds! Try an operation with a fraction of XCP or asset, get used to things, and then try more. Please email dev@counterparty.co with any bug reports involving loss or potential loss of funds.

Please BE CAREFUL with your pass phrase. Store it on paper, not on your computer. Store multiple paper copies in multiple different secure places. Do not give it a written description that would tell anyone what it's for (e.g. "My Counterwallet Password: " <=== bad move! Smiley ).

Also, please heed the following warning:
Counterwallet is BETA software and is still under heavy development. Please take caution in your use of it for storing and transferring funds on mainnet, and report any/all bugs. The Counterparty team cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen funds, although we will do everything in our power to prevent and rectify such situations.

And the client looks great. Although sweeping is not working for me, yet.

It is little sad, but actually http://www.nxtclient.org/ is not a good place for beginners - there is still no rating so newbies are lost and don't know which client to choose

Let's use only this link: http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/ in our forums OP and on our sites, like wiki, nxtcrypto, mynxt or any local lites
- wesley could maybe add some red warning about brainwallet
+ we can offer using client with wallet.dat: https://github.com/incentivetoken/offspring/wiki/Getting-Started

Who agrees?

+10, much agreement

+10, so client

It was possibly answered before, but can I invest in the 2nd round if I already invested 1.5 in the first?

My brother is not much in crypto, but his birthday is end of April. I thought I will invest another 1.5 BTC for him and give it to him, as a part of his present for his 18th birthday.

Would this be possible somehow?
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | Wallet Updated! on: April 05, 2014, 09:13:16 PM
Why should someone run the wallet if there is no more coins to mine? Who will secure the network?

You need own 51% coin to attack.

How is the "mining" working? What determinates who mines the next block?

It's not important.  The important thing is how many coins you have in your wallet.
More you have , more you will gain.
For instance,  COMM has  30% interest for the first year, so you will get ~850 COMM per day if you have 100mil COMM in your wallet.

Who is paying those coins? Not all coins are already created?

No one. The new coins are created.
The amount will increase. At the very beginning, the amount is 1bil.
After one year, the amount will become 1.3bil.

I see, thank you very much! Is there a whitepaper or any other document where I can read more about mining and the algo behind it?

Calling everyone who criticise Nxt a troll is not a good idea, I think.

Solarion raised a valid (and recurring point) here, as well as BrianNowhere did. Yes, the way how he communicates is not nice, but I can understand this, as he lost his money. (even if it was his fault) If we want Average Joe to use Nxt (no, not the Joe from bitcointalk, but the Joe from Facebook), we need to make it foolproof. This takes some time, but instead of arguing, the developers should keep improving the clients to make it more user friendly as they are doing it ny by releasing new versions again and again.

That is a valid point, but this is a decentralised community, someone must take command to do something? Why don't you write OP and tell him to rephrase the OP? I am 100% sure he will do this, as he has done many times before on request Smiley

I did. The current structure was made when I asked him to reorganize it. But it seems, that is still not ok like this.

Ok. Thank you for taking the lead! We need abunch more guys like you!

I am not a leader at all, due to lack of time because of my IRL job, Iīm just trying to help where I can. I was hoping to dedicate my time 100% to Nxt by now, but unfortunatelly the price didnīt go to the moon Smiley

Why is it so hard to eliminate? Just changing the OP would take 5 seconds of someone's time. I wouldn't have chosen that download if it wasn't on the first page of this thread.

You don't build the reputation of a new coin by letting poorly crafted software screw newbies out of their new coins.

He is right here. The download should be changed on the first page, I already asked for this months ago, when the first opensource clients were released. There is no point in putting the download link of the SERVER on the top of the first page.

Asset Exchange is very slick. Better than Nxt's best client.

I understand, that you had some problems with some of the guys over in the Nxt thread, but looking at your recent posts here, it seems that you are now trying to talk Nxt down.

The counterparty webclient is very neat, indeed, as well as some Nxt clients are neat, too. Don´t be biased and please don´t denigrate the work of a lot of people, just because you´re angry.

just to make it clear:
I have a higher stake in XCP as in Nxt (proportionally), but I think that both approaches are very interesting and promising. I just don´t like if someone is spreading false/bad information over and over again, just because of rage or disappoitnment.
