My 2 (and a bit) cents on the solarion affair: 1593 or 1592 less the nonsensical minimum transaction fee.
PM me your Nxt account # associated with YOUR password and I'll send you 1593 later, I think you should at least stick around so you can try Asset Exchange and some other really neat features being released soon. If you do follow his advice, don't choose your password. It needs to be very strong with 128-bit entropy Try this client http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/let it create 12 word password (and save it) losing password means losing your account . It can be recovered. Thank you, there are entirely too many competitors to waste any more time on a product as unrefined as this one. I wish you guys well though. No worries, if you change your mind in the next 24 hours, PM me, otherwise the 1593 is going to Evil Dave. Like the last line, my favourite bit. But: I think that solarion should stick around and be appointed to official client tester status. Really.....he managed to f**k things up with the NRS client inside his first few minutes of being in NXT. Takes a special kind of genius that few others have managed, and he has actually done us a service by rubbing our noses in the password security and client issues, as well as pointing out that we need to streamline and clarify the process of getting into NXT. Solarion could have been a lot more diplomatic about it and it would have been nice if he'd done any f**king research at all about NXT, but some of us could have been a little less quick to start throwing the troll accusations. (Tho' some of us were amazingly patient....msin, Ian, Twin, McJ ) Check solarions profile, he's an easily angered miner, not a professional NXT troll, imho So, how do we respond ?The password security and client issues will be (mostly) solved if we get people away from using the NRS client and onto pretty much any other client. I've just tried to put myself into the mindset of a n00b who wants some NXT, and it's still bloody confusing trying to figure out how the hell to get into NXT. We really need to streamline things *A LOT* to make life easier for the average user. Solution time:Look at the landing pages for most cryptos: blah, blah, client download, exchange, mining pools. Not very information rich.... Lets make a completely idiot-proof starters guide for getting into NXT. One page, preferably less, of clear instructions. Spread this idiots guide to all NXT sites, make it the default NRS and client download page, preferably with very small download buttons and an "I swear I have read all of the above" checkbox. This way, all of the possible 'gateways' into NXT will have the same instructions, and hopefully they will be followed. If we emphasise the use of non-NRS clients, preferably wesleys, this should cut out a lot of opportunities for people to balls things up for themselves, and cut down on the number of angry, $40 poorer people posting on the forums. If everyone thinks that an "ïdiots guide" universal start page is a good idea, i'd like msin (if solarion doesn't want it ) to put the 1593 NXT towards a bounty for the idiots guide.

Agreed, especially since NXT is a little "different" (it's really not, Bitcoin and clones just hide the brainwallet side).

I volunteer to help with Solarion. I have messed up many times on many things. I've lost NXT but didn't ever complain or tell people about it, just kept on going. I've said many times in other threads that I'm not too technical and it's true. I've loaded a few different nxt clients. Got them to work less than half of the time. Sometimes when they work, they won't see my balance. I even some how got a node to forge once and was afraid to turn my computer off, so I let it run for two weeks! Finally forged a block but got 0 fees. :-( I gave up. Not just nxt, I've had lots if problems getting bitcoin stuff to work. I have lost NXT, done aliases completely wrong, and continued failed getting clients working properly. I sent real nxt to the test nxt. I also almost logged into test nxt with my real account once! (Knowing I wasn't supposed to but just making a mistake) I entered my password manually wrong sooooo many times but then Ivebeenbit suggested I get Keepass. Somehow I ended up with Lastpass but I like it a lot and recommend it too! Very useful programs. I also have a mac and windows 8. I've always wanted to help the community but didn't really have a good way. I'm also fairly diplomatic when I want to be, so if you'd like, I can test too!

I need some help with windows. I am allergic to it, but I need to be able to build libwebsockets http://libwebsockets.org/trac/libwebsockets in Windows. I only have ancient winxp running in Parallels on Mac. I've made a few small changes to test-server.c and the rest can be linked in. As soon as the windows libwebsockets test-server can be made, I will be able to make cross platform (Mac, windows, ubuntu) release You will then be able to make multigateway requests as follows: http://127.0.0.1:7777/multigateway?{"requestType":"register","NXT":"1234567890123456789","DOGE":"<withdraw addr>","BTC":"<withdraw addr>","token":"<160 chars>"} http://127.0.0.1:7777/multigateway?{"requestType":"withdraw","NXT":"1234567890123456789","DOGE":"<any DOGE address>","amount":"12.456","TOTP":"123456","token":"<160 chars>"} If you are withdrawing to the registered wallet address, you wont need the google authenticator TOTP. Still need to figure out all the details of google authenticator like generating QRcode to display, but the websockets method allows all of this to be possible. So anybody who has modern build setup and can make test-server of libwebsockets, please contact me. Maybe we can have some public nodes running the libwebsockets though, since I can require token authentication for all important commands, maybe this is acceptable. To generate the token, you cut and paste the all the JSON before the "token" and use that as "website" James Edit: I think it would be cleaner to use the following JSON: http://127.0.0.1:7777/multigateway?[{"requestType":"withdraw","NXT":"1234567890123456789","DOGE":"<any DOGE address>","amount":"12.456","TOTP":"123456"},{"token":"<160 chars>"}], that way there is no ambiguity on what to tokenize. white space needs to be stripped. Maybe there is no need for TOTP? might be hard to get that, generate token in time...

Let's use only this link: http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/ in our forums OP and on our sites, like wiki, nxtcrypto, mynxt or any local lites Who agrees?
I agree. Lets promote this as default link on every major nxt site. This thread. http://www.nxtcrypto.org/ (can you get QBT to make that as default site to download?)
