361  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: How to make 0.5 btc just from fauceting? on: May 29, 2016, 08:07:18 AM
0.5BTC = 50.000.000 satoshi's. It seems the average claim is between 100 and 200 satoshi's (just googled for some faucets and looked at the first 10 i found).
Best case scenario 50 million divided by 200 = 250.000 claims!!!

1 claim = 0.5 minutes (30 seconds to open a webpage, wait for it to load, fill in the captcha's, your address, click buttons, close,...).
250.000 claims * 0.5 claims/minute = 86.8 days.
It'll take you 87 days of 24/7 nonstop faucetting to make 0.5BTC IF you can find a WORKING rotator with an average claim of 200 satoshi's and without popups.
Some faucets do have a sort of lucky draw where they do a lottery and give out a lot of satoshi's. If you were lucky enough to win the lottery, it would be possible to get 0.5/month, but you'd still be better off getting an IRL job. Even a job paying you 1 dollar/hour would be more profitable than faucetting.

Disclaimer: i'm not a regular faucet user, i think they're a waste of time, so my opinion might be biased.
362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING: This transaction had an attempted double-spent on: May 29, 2016, 07:30:17 AM
Just Got a response from coince and they stated their wallet starts with a 3 not an one. Do think it's a possibly bcoiner.com was hacked? I noticed in the past few days they remove their app from the market place. Looks like the transaction went to someone other than where I send it. Looks like a newbie mistake and learning experience on my part
Basically, what you're saying is that you used bcoiner as a wallet, and payed coince. You sent coins to an address generated by coince, but they claimed they did not receive funds.

After confronting coince with a confirmed transaction, they claim they use P2SH (adresses starting with a 3), so the deposit address you used cannot be theirs.

Can you log in to coince, and confirm their deposit adresses start with a 3?
If they do, do you, by any chance, still have screenshots or something from the original deposit adress?

What could have happened:
-you fell victim to a phising website, posing as coince, but giving you a "false" deposit adress (an address controlled by hackers)
-you fell victim to to a phising website posing as bcoiner, where you pasted the correct deposit address (starting with a 3), but since they captured your login sequence they logged in to the real bcoiner and just sent funds to themselfs
-you have one of those virusses on your pc that monitors your clipboard, and as soon as they detect a bitcoin address being copyd into the clipboard, it replaces the address with an address generated by the virus writer
-either coince or bcoiner are scamming you...
-either coince or bcoiner are hacked
-you made an error, you copy/pasted the wrong address

These are just the things i can think about... I don't know coince or bcoiner, i have no idear what they do, so i cannot say what happened exactly.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING: This transaction had an attempted double-spent on: May 28, 2016, 03:56:55 PM
Thank you for the response. The company that was to receive the Bitcoin was coince.com. Since that transfer didn't confirm using the bcoiner wallet, I ended up deposit more money to another wallet that went thought to coince no problem. I've contact them close to a week ago concerning the transaction but have received a response as of yet. Here are some screenshots from the wallet I used

Should I just wait it out? Or can I take more action?

the thing is that, altough one of the transactions contained a double spent input, and was cancelled, the other one was confirmed fine:
https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/tx/c71c90bacd03ef9a3e9a77d7836303baade058b2cc4011ee9caca9cc9768a3ac/
0.04301855 BTC to 1MpTaxEqVVbzsUpd3YnNiVVXUfuXDmK4de

If, for some reason, coince.com is looking at the wrong transaction, and says they didn't receive any coins, you should point them to the correct tx id. If all your addresses, and the rest of your story is correct, you did send the coins, they did receive them, they're just looking at the wrong transaction. Since the input of the wrong transaction was double spend, it will never confirm, and they'll never credit your account unless you point them towards the correct transaction.
364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING: This transaction had an attempted double-spent on: May 28, 2016, 01:41:44 PM
Hi I just had a similar issue somewhat. How would I properly analyze my transaction in https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/tx/51cb4f385e399e59f9558345d86db75bad27ed5dd2fe8655bfc1f22f4e2bfcef/

I spoke to a person a bcoiner (which is the wallet I used) and they stated after the sweep they were only able to retrieve a small portion of my transaction. Do this mean that the Bitcoin transaction is lost? Any advice will appreciated

The input used in https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/tx/51cb4f385e399e59f9558345d86db75bad27ed5dd2fe8655bfc1f22f4e2bfcef/
was also used in https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/tx/c71c90bacd03ef9a3e9a77d7836303baade058b2cc4011ee9caca9cc9768a3ac/

the thing is, they both use the same input to create an output of~0.043BTC to address 1MpTaxEqVVbzsUpd3YnNiVVXUfuXDmK4de an ~0.002BTC to 19mfq5DtLd2z23w6SGKCn7wZFmAreuyE9x, so at first sight, it looks like you created two transactions, using the same input, creating an output to the same adresses. One of the transactions confirmed, so whoever you tried to pay should have received his/her coins.

I assume you tried to pay 1MpTaxEqVVbzsUpd3YnNiVVXUfuXDmK4de, your wallet created a change address 19mfq5DtLd2z23w6SGKCn7wZFmAreuyE9x, but the transaction got broadcasted twice. I don't think this should be something you should worry about, whoever you tried to pay should have received his/her coins, and the change should be found in your wallet, it was just a glitch that may have caused some annoyance, but no harm. If somebody, for some reason, claims he wasn't payed, or you cannot find the change in your wallet, it might be best to tell us which wallet you used, which address you were sending coins to, maybe some screenshots of the conversation,...

PS: this is just what i assume happened by looking briefly at the two transactions. I might be wrong, but at first sight it looks a minor glitch at best Smiley

366  Economy / Service Announcements / [ann] openbazaar hosting and moderation service, FREE trial + 2 vouch copys on: May 27, 2016, 01:59:26 PM
Why would you need openbazaar hosting?
Some of you already know openbazaar, it's a P2P market. The downside of selling stuff on openbazaar is the fact that your openbazaar server needs to be online. If you run openbazaar on your desktop PC, a server is started in the background. But as soon as you close your client, the server is stopped to, and your shop goes offline. This is why i'm offering openbazaar hosting and moderation. This way your shop can stay online 24/7.

My offer
I'm currently offering openbazaar hosting. I have 2 packages:
Package 1: For sellers that use my moderation service (and my service alone) and sell at least 1BTC worth of good each month : 0.025BTC/month
Package 2: For anybody else. Using this package, you can pick your own moderators or even become a moderator : 0.05BTC/month

rules/TOS/guarantees
  • NO illegal sales. This includes, but is not limited to: drugs, weapons, prescription meds, hacked account, cp,...
  • I give a 90% uptime guarantee. In case i don't reach the 90% uptime, you'll be entitled to a partial refund. 0% uptime => 100% refund; 50% uptime => 50% refund; 90-100% uptime => no refund
  • I accept the use of a trusted escrow holding the funds untill the last day of the hosting month (meaning you pay the full fee in the beginning of the month, and the escrow only releases the funds AFTER you've used my service for a full month)
  • Bandwith: i use FUP mechanism. I don't monitor bandwith, but if you use to much, you'll be kicked with a partial refund
  • I'll keep your records private, and i expect you to keep my info private as well (this includes my server's ip)
  • Payment in BTC or LTC only
  • This is not a private VPS, your market will run on my server... You'll have your own user account from and port range. You'll need to provide me with your fixed ipv4 ip address
  • You're entitled to 1 free monthly backup of the .openbazaar-folder (holding your keys, shop info, details,...)
  • You CAN request access to the server itself using your own username, however, by accessing the server yourself, you forfait the right to ask for a refund in case of insufficient uptime (since you can start-stop the server yourself, and i have no way of monitoring if the server was stopped by you, or due to my fault)

Extra info
My moderation service can be found here: ob://4a6d3fe6ce0b38994935d35913e2b411d2f4989d/about
I'm open to bulk orders with discount, questions can be asked on this forum, and will be answered within 24 hours on working days (longer delays might occur during weekends)

368  Bitcoin / Press / Re: Bitcoin Rises, But What Will Happen in July at the Halving? on: May 26, 2016, 09:33:21 AM
Some say the sky’s the limit. According to Gil Luria, a Webbush Securities analyst who covers the Bitcoin investment vehicle GBTC:

“There’s always a lot of factors in the price of Bitcoin, but all those things being equal, [the halving] should help the price go up, if for no other reason than of the rule of economics… It’s a function of the intersection of supply and demand, and the halving literally means there will be less [new] supply every day.”

Bitcoin moonIn other words, this could be just the thing bitcoin needs to stay on top for good. After all, a scarce item is likely to hold more value than one that is plentiful or common.

But others aren’t entirely convinced. In fact, one of the big problems expected from the halving is the fact that miners will possibly have to deal with potential drops in profitability.

http://bitcoinist.net/bitcoin-rises-july-halving/

Personally, i have a gut feeling the price will rise slightly... It's only a gut feeling, but i'm pretty sure there's nobody who will be able to give mathematical proof of what's going to happen (to many factors, some of which are the emotions of buyers, sellers, users,...).

Why do i still think the price is going to rise:
- less coins will be mined each day... This doesn't mean a lot, because so many coins are already in circulation, so halving the reward probably won't lead to doubling of the price
- more companies start to accept bitcoin
- the media will probably pick up on the halving, leading to more interest of new people
369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best way to turn 30 btc into 300 btc? (URGENT) on: May 25, 2016, 11:34:28 AM
If there were ways of doing this without investing, trading, spending time or risk being a victim, i guess everybody would be doing it, right? You're not talking about making 2% profit in 1 year, you're talking about 1000% in 2 months...

In your case, i think you'll have to take a very easy decission:
Either:

1) confess to your parents what you've done
2) take a loan, pay your parents back, get an IRL job to pay back your loan.

Hello !
Few days are gone and i read the Posts evrytime evrytime and start Bitcoincore.
So, what can i do ? I see option change Passphrase . I remember Pass wrote it down and changed the passphrase. After that i go to console a type the code to recive the privat key.

Year ! Now i have the Privat key !

And what i do now ?

Follow the second part of my post:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1472532.msg14850162#msg14850162
Basically, if you are sure that this is the correct private key, and that this is the only transaction you've ever made, you should be able to import it into electrum... But it would be best if you re-read the rest of the post i made to, so you know all the caveats.
371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core on: May 23, 2016, 06:35:38 AM
the problem is i forgot my password. Have i chance to use my Bitcoins ?

Please, write everything that you remember about your password on a piece of paper. This may help you hack your password.

If you make a small mistake in your password, it is possible to "hack", try various  passwords. For example you remember abc000 but not know the numbers.
A hack program can try all possible numbers, abc123 .... abc456 ...

When wallet password is forgotten, wallet without password can be still on your computer. Contact expert about this recovery method.

I'd be carefull when contacting experts tough... I've seen a couple of scam accusations against "wallet crackers". Always realise that when you send your encrypted wallet.dat AND give such a cracker tips about what your password might have been, he'll have full controll over all your funds if he succeeds in cracking your password!!! This means that he can say he wasn't able to crack your wallet, and steal all your funds a couple weeks later, claiming somebody else must have done it.

I'd personally try to crack the wallet.dat myself... There are a couple of tools out there to do this. A quick google resulted in this one: https://github.com/glv2/bruteforce-wallet
If you create a dictionary using a scripting language, substituting letters in your common passwords, it should be doable.

IF you send your wallet.dat plus tips about the password to somebody, please make sure they have at least green (positive) trust, using an escrow is not good enough (the cracker can put enough funds in escrow to cover the funds in your wallet, crack the password, claim it didn't work, ask his money back from the escrow, and run with your funds as soon as the escrow refunds him)
372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core on: May 20, 2016, 06:04:09 AM
So, to recap the problem up untill now:
- you have installed bitcoin core's QT wallet, but didn't wait for it to sync. you encrypted the wallet with a password
- you bought coins on coinimal and withdrew them to your unsynced QT wallet. you don't want to wait untill the syncing finishes.
- you forgot the password in the first step. (which is really problematic, it's worse than the fact you cannot wait untill the syncing finishes i'm afraid)

Everything else seems like a moot point, since i can only conclude you never managed to export the private key... So the "imports" you did into electrum were your public keys instead of your private keys, generating "watch only" wallets in electrum. These wallets are usefull to keep track of your spendings, but they cannot be used to create transactions (send coins).

Back to basics, forget about electrum, focus on your QT wallet (you did make that backup i suggested in my first post, right???). Can you answer the following questions:
- are you 100% absolutely sure you encrypted your wallet? If it's not locked, refer back to either my post (it included a link on how to export private keys) or go the next post made by knightdk (it contained roughly the same explanation as my link, but it was a little clearer)
- if you are 100% sure you encrypted your wallet, do you have any idear about the password? If you do have an idear about what you might have used, there are ways of brute-forcing... This can only be done if you more or less know which passwords you could have used, but you made a typo, used a capital, added 1 or 2 letters...
373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Where I can see bitcoin network load ? on: May 19, 2016, 09:14:04 AM
I mean, sometimes bitcoin network is overloaded and transactions goes too slow. Where I can see this info in numbers ?

I suppose you're talking about the unconfirmed transactions in the mempool...
This site should give you an idear : https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions

Maybe this is what I want, but how can I estimate bitcoin load using info given on that page ?

Some clarification of what I want: 500 bytes transaction with 0.0001 btc fee was processed in 10 minutes when system was 10% loaded
and 500 bytes transaction with 0.0001  btc fee was processed in 2 hours when system was 90% loaded.

I want to go to some page and see "Bitcoin network is loaded on 90%", then I set fee 0.0002 for 500 byte transaction..

Not exactly what you asked for, but you could use this page: https://bitcoinfees.21.co/
It gives you an estimation of how much satoshi's per byte you should add to get into the next x blocks on average.
Do be carefull: it's up to the miner if he adds your tx to a block or not. He can chose to add a tx with allmost no fees to a block before adding a tx with really high fees per byte, but usually he'll add the ones with the highest satoshi/byte fee

Is it free of cost ? or do we have to pay for getting such addresses ?

The op clearly stated that addresses with up to 4 custom characters are free and 5-8 are paying.

If i trust the website i'm buying from, or if i trust the escrow i'm using, i prefer using bitcoin.
For everything else i prefer using my old paypal account... If you want to buy some no-brand stuff from a chinese webshop, having the paypal buyer protection really payed off several times already.

379  Economy / Services / Re: About vps on: May 17, 2016, 07:13:17 AM
yes I am using a shrared hosting before with this script but I always reach the cpu limit and I need more resources.

Well... In that case, i'd suggest just upgrading your shared hosting plan... From what i've read in this thread, your app will run 1 query every 2 seconds... It depends on the query, altough, in general, a normal shared host should be able to handle 30 query's/minute... Once again: it depends on the query itself... If your shared host cannot handle 1 query every 2 seconds they're either very cheap and very low-end, or you should have a good look at the query you're running.

It's just that when you say things like "currently I didnt know how to manage VPS and dont know how it works does vestacp panel is free to install?" I'm afraid that running your own VPS might be one step to much. Installing, securing, updating and managing a VPS is something for which you need at least a little bit of experience.
Don't take this in a bad way, i'm not trying to hurt your feelings... Having no experience with VPS's, linux, LAMP isn't something you should feel bad about, but you should be carefull starting a website on a VPS you've configured yourself if you don't have any experience.

At very least, download oracle VM virtualbox on your pc, install debian and try to install a complete LAMP server using the console.... If you cannot make it run in virtualbox, there's no sense in ordering a VPS.
380  Economy / Services / Re: About vps on: May 17, 2016, 06:51:43 AM
I know many other members have already given parts of my answer, but i tought it would be usefull to spell this one out Wink

OP, you're asking for a VPS: A Virtual Private Server. This means that a VPS is a virtual linux server, you can do with it as you please. It's usually an empty linux template on which you install all binaries you'll be needing yourself, so asking for php 5.6+ and mysql 4.0+ when searching for a VPS is rather contradictory Wink
This also means the rest of your specs are meaningless... I cannot imagine a VPS that is unable to run a common LAMP setup (linux, apache, mysql, php) unless you're going for a minimal one (especially the ammount of RAM can be a limiting factor).

It looks to me you're better off finding a shared host. This way your hosting provider will manage the server and you can concentrate on getting your website in the air. I think this might be a better option for you. You can always double-check your hosting provider and ask them a pre-sale question with your speclist, but it's a rather trivial one, so i'm pretty sure most shared hosting providers will suffice.
