641  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Doing a Paper on Cloud Mining... on: November 26, 2015, 03:00:22 PM
Hey guys,

I'm doing a paper on cloud mining and I'm in the research stage.  Could you give me some links to which ones are the best in the industry.  I've started research on Genesis Mining and I was wondering which other ones are among the top.

Thanks.

bit-x has a clean reputation, and has always payed me... Hashnest is clean to (AFAIK), but i've never used them.
I also tested out accumining, reasonable chance they're not legit, but they're still paying up untill now
642  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Please help with setup. on: November 25, 2015, 08:15:16 AM
To answer your question: raspPI will work, as will any other device that runs linux or windows and has at least an usb2.0 port.

I run my stickminers on an old neolinux HP thin client, even without a powered usb hub...

Don't know how many miners one hub can power...

I'll upload a couple pics from my setup when i get home from work this evening (and if i remember)

EDIT: about the display... Sure, but personally, i just run cgminer within a screen session... I open the system over a terminal, open the screen session and see if it's still mining from my laptop.

EDIT EDIT: about the software: either run minera (it contains the necessary software), cgminer or bfgminer... It can be run from linux, unix and windows (with windows you need some extra drivers). Tutorials can be found with google. If you use geccoscience's stick, please make sure you download the adapted minera version, or download the patched cgminer files before building cgminer Wink
643  Economy / Reputation / Re: Help me please with Wrong Feedback provided by "Lutpin" on: November 24, 2015, 08:20:34 AM
I can verify that i took this account as collateral for a loan... The loan was clean (Sharma sent his account details, i sent the money, i posted everything publicly and notified the ledger of the loan)...

It's not my habit of signing in into locked collateral, but i've just verified, and the account is still locked by me.

If there is doubt about me holding the account, i can sign a message with 1d92FUSg7wUafUi77R6yjUpZVhTMKpzuQ (my public addy) and post it with Sharma's account in this thread...
644  Economy / Lending / Re: Altcoinhosting's long term loans. Giving loans up to 0.1 BTC on: November 24, 2015, 06:40:24 AM
Stopping this loanservice for a while... I'm locking this thread untill some funds is freed up from defaulted collateral sales and repayments...

If you have an open loan, and want to repay, please PM me so i can unlock this topic!
645  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hosting service where i can pay with btc? on: November 23, 2015, 08:04:41 PM
There is a user here: altcoinhosting who accepts itcon and several altcoins. I wanted to try them, but his packages are very expensive..

The packages i advertised were usually rather "large" (lots of bandwith, diskspace, databases, ftp-users, cronjobs, installable scripts,...).
I've always had smaller packages, but they were not prominently displayed on the mainpage (they started around $1.5/month for yearly contracts, and about 2.5 for monthly contracts). That's why most people think i'm rather expensive.
Nowadays, i only make custom quotes... Wink
646  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hosting service where i can pay with btc? on: November 23, 2015, 04:09:18 PM
How much does your hosting cost? I really need none at this moment. Send me a PM please.

I was driving home, so i didn't see your reply Smiley
I don't use pre-defined packages anymore, and i've switched to a custom package for every client...

If you're ever in need for some hosting in the future, send me the requirements in PM and i'll make a quote Smiley
Good luck @ steadyturtle. I've heared good things about them
647  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hosting service where i can pay with btc? on: November 23, 2015, 02:33:00 PM
Anyone got suggestions where I should host my website and pay with btc? Or a free one, but it needs 99.99% uptime and can take loads of traffic. Or a cheap hosting service is also good. Also I want to pay monthly not for a year in one time.

Thanks in advance!

I offer some basic webhosting, but i don't offer 99.99% uptime guarantee, i've heared great things about steadyturtle, maybe they can help you out...
648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet for FCN & MCN coins? on: November 20, 2015, 02:54:25 PM
Never used that one... But it looks OK.
Just remember: never leave to much coins in an exchange...

Just exchange them, and withdraw them as soon as you've accumulated enough to make it economical feasible (if you withdraw to little, the fees will outnumber the withdrawal).
Exchanges have the tendency to close wallets, get hacked, steal or go bancrupt... You don't want that to happen when you have $50+ on their books Wink

Hmmm, can i exchange it asap whitout a crypto-wallet? Smiley

right now i use one to convert it from on to a orhter curreny but on that site its require i got a wallet first, :/

So, you basically withdrew your coins from minergate, sent them trough a wallet, transferred them to an exchange, exchanged them, withdrew them to a different wallet...

In this scenario, you have to maintain several wallets, and always pay a lot of transfer fees...

I would propose: withdraw the coins to an exchange, exchange them to BTC, withdraw them to your own wallet. In this case you only have to maintain 1 wallet... Bitcoin even has HD wallets where you don't need to download the whole blockchain.
This way, it'll save you on transfer fees, disk space, and maintenance time.
654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet for FCN & MCN coins? on: November 20, 2015, 09:14:55 AM
Hi all

i search after a wallet for FCN and MCN coins, so i can convert it to orther currency, can sombordy help me? i'm pretty new to crypto-coins, i use MineGate to CPU farming, and the only valuta i can find a good online wallet so i can convert from one to ahorther valuta its BCN i search still where i can open more accounts and despoit my valuta and convert it to ahothrer valutas.

hope i can get help here Smiley

If you're just going to exchange them, why don't you deposit them to an exchange directly, convert them into BCN or BTC and withdraw?
655  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price of Bitcoin and Mining Profitability on: November 20, 2015, 08:56:15 AM
The price will never go to zero (i hope).

If the price gets really low, people will start losing money (because their electricity price is higher than the profit) and shut down their mining farm.
When farms start to close, the hashrate will drop, and the difficulty will soon follow
When the difficulty drops, the people that kept on mining will find more blocks with the same hashrate
When they find more blocks, they'll have more coins to sell at the lower price

In the end, there will be an equilibrium... When the price drops significantly, i would expect the total hashrate to drop, and the amount of coins mined by the people that keep on mining will rise.
Nobody can predict the equilibrium, since it depends on: the hardware, the electricity price, the amount of people that mine for fun instead of profit,...

Might be a funny project to get bitcoins into the mainstream a little bit more (offcourse, projects like this won't be the answer, but every little bit helps)
As soon as i have some time, i'll see if i can find any flaws, but i trust you guys did your homework Wink

660  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 0.105 btc loan on: November 18, 2015, 07:10:01 AM
I could give you a loan, but i'm not sure the account is enough as collateral...
I'll run it trough satoshiquiz and give you a quote on how much you can loan, how long, and which intrest rate... Give me about 5 minutes Smiley

EDIT: there are a couple things about this account:
1) it was apperently sold... for less than 0.12. This makes giving a 0.105BTC a risk (chances are that you bought it for less than 0.105, and trying to diguise an account sale as a loan request)
2) you, or the previous owner, tried to take a non-collateral loan for the purpose of gambling
3) low post quality
4) allmost all posts are made in 1 category (games and rounds)

This being said, these are my offers:
1) i could offer you 0.075 if you can sign a message with 1eFrYW5bLucTEfpTtRiL7b5TxDc459Qis, 1AQBeu8E8iEu3L4DpubuG4U2Qe7Mf9RUjK or 1KdHtfTK8LVgBSK58xTmydwCQRkgntZ2N6. Repayment 0.078 within 9 days

2) i could offer you 0.07 if you give me the signed message you got when buying the account, and it's signed with one of the addy's in offer 1. Repayment 0.074 within 9 days

3) i could offer you 0.06 if you can sign a message with 1N6nnkd6hABthXRiNLrEeBMYRR8Nba7wfD, 1Px8tuvp2eVZezAfBzVvAxhdS2TDRRfnrq, 1BfJaCKBj8mffMhaB5ruPkDtYCU9eVYm2V, 1BKRNDzFPsQhF7kMj7Kbv5hhJ26VDDChNw, 1CW2EouToXc4bzEPGHRuoN4uCrqoT2TTcC, 1Kb31TvACc5zFHEwUNEG27p1YsEyQ67Bti, 18riUDCcXGTHxAdZEk9TxA3H8QYreF6Rot, 1A7wqWkR1K9fxzwUFiJQhCRenrhd7UXj5a, 1Q7UpBT7r5dp5HFQXsA6QLGuUsAKchcfcw, 15ZpkErkWdMYR7rZxanXUWF1uxpBHwy4Eo, 1Dj3Y74cn7aY3GNJQAjijG2A8JWaFDsQqS, 1Dy1xwXsdsTmuGiQxLL4ui5BwnWBTofALC, 1416jo9g9PYGULjYunTsQHCprEGfEJnReA ,1GyxCiDdHPiQCJR5T2rhQcFrQzrgGsyE3m, 1PJY5A4fYwEGzdVrXTqFg67nLnsw2Jme6n, 1PbTTfmFLXCCWfx1DpN21rtVYH1RKh9JNS, 1G4xMKpLLMyQhqs7zDVAgHazfyBoj8SUxw, 1HWResNwpppzqY7sym7dGSfX52zTZn7A4x ,12RcSCBfvEkmoZzKx6txxk1m21LPJ6Lfoy or 1ANG13dE1hMW9HEfap5mgWbqfzPDuQvfnv repayment of 0.065 within 9 days
